[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Tomo. [00:00:17] Speaker B: I am playing Steve Pehuman, Level 5 Gloomstalker Ranger Fighter, Level 2 Rogue, Level 1. [00:00:25] Speaker A: I have an owl, Brandon. [00:00:29] Speaker C: I am Ikarutpuishlae, Level 8 Blood Hunter, half orc. And I have breast enhancements. [00:00:41] Speaker D: Hey, I'm Braden. I play Beleague Dagar, half elf. Hexblade warlock, level eight Eric. [00:00:49] Speaker E: I'm Eric. I play Dr. Zozo brightfeather, a level eight narakocra artificer. [00:00:54] Speaker A: And last but not least, Caleb. [00:00:59] Speaker F: I am the construct Kaito Hatata. And I'm a level 8 warforged barbarian. [00:01:11] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards. [00:01:16] Speaker C: I'm going to tell the captain to turn around and start going back out. [00:01:20] Speaker A: To see now the pier ends. You guys whip around, you know, just as Dante runs out of pier and you guys whip around and now you are rejoining the northwards trajectory of the the nobleman's purple vess. It's just about twice the size of the ferry here. And now you will see, you know, Beleg and Zozo that again. The small Orcish vessel has pulled a 180 and it's rejoining you and it's quickly gaining on you. [00:01:51] Speaker F: I just yell rebuild the doorway. [00:01:56] Speaker D: One second. [00:01:58] Speaker F: Brunches serve. [00:02:00] Speaker G: What does that mean? [00:02:02] Speaker E: Mean. [00:02:06] Speaker F: We'Ll be back for brunch. We have two boats now. [00:02:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:02:13] Speaker B: Sail along the coast. We probably have to stop at al. I don't think we've got first we have to figure out I guess we have to take your boat. Probably has more more food and water on it than ours. Although we haven't quite searched ours yet. Yeah. At very least we're gonna have to stop somewhere. [00:02:32] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:02:35] Speaker B: Well, water, I suppose. Steve could fish the out of the oceans if you wanted to. [00:02:40] Speaker F: Yeah, like we have a trading ship and we have a main ship. [00:02:45] Speaker B: Well, technically we have a boat. You guys are sailing on a boat? [00:02:50] Speaker C: Yeah. With our own private captain. [00:02:52] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:02:54] Speaker F: Given you have enough money to pay this captain. [00:02:59] Speaker D: Sure. [00:03:00] Speaker F: So therefore we can sail him in danger. [00:03:07] Speaker B: And I'm pretty sure that can. [00:03:09] Speaker C: Throw him off the boat if we need to. [00:03:11] Speaker B: What you guys do on your boat is your business. Yeah. [00:03:19] Speaker D: We got bigger fish to fry. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Yeah. But at some point we may want to discuss if we want to bring two boats to Chasm or if we want to ditch one boat and or else just approach it from the so. [00:03:34] Speaker F: Cosm are we Talking like espionage mission. [00:03:41] Speaker B: Well, I mean, do we, I don't know if we've got the numbers to go in guns blazing to the. The Wizards Guild. Yeah, yeah, we may, we may want to sneak our way. [00:03:54] Speaker E: Unless we want to show up with the big boat and say we're somebody important. [00:03:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:04:02] Speaker A: If you guys have been discussing. We are used to thousand mile journeys, aren't we? It was about a thousand miles from the Gulf of Gila either down to, you know, southern islands like Wii U or up to Match. Here you are in Match and it is about a thousand miles up to Cozum. You have two vessels. They are well stocked. As you inspect the ship, Steve Bellic and Zozo. That's primarily, you know, what I'm imagining happens in the first couple of hours is you check out that ship. It is decked for a trip exactly the length from here to Cosm. [00:04:40] Speaker B: Yes. Any. Any fun stuff like hidden. Hidden compartments. [00:04:49] Speaker A: Valuables. [00:04:50] Speaker B: Stevens. Mocking. [00:04:52] Speaker A: There is something on this ship and it is familiar to you, Steven Balak, and you, Zozo as well. [00:05:00] Speaker D: What is it? [00:05:02] Speaker A: There is a. Can anybody guess? [00:05:06] Speaker B: Sex dungeon. [00:05:09] Speaker F: Mimic chess. [00:05:10] Speaker B: Oh fuck. [00:05:11] Speaker A: Kaitoa. Inspiration. [00:05:14] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:05:15] Speaker B: Oh shit, of course there, yeah, you. [00:05:17] Speaker A: Can add one inspiration. Okay, now if we look further at the ferry, Kaitoa, you said you'd also be looking around here. This is a well traveled barnacle salty ferry. And just like Rook said, this is a kind of little island hopper here that goes around from those half orc kingdoms and protectorates and steward kingdoms and party. That is where you are going through the northern steward kingdoms of Lirnak and Ranu and Otolan are those vassal states of Ponchen that as you know, are now no longer kneeling to the king. [00:05:58] Speaker F: So I'm looking on board for like boat hoppers. I'm inspecting this boat. I'm opening each drum. I'm looking for stowaways. [00:06:11] Speaker A: This is a almost, you'd say there are parts of the boards and bench seating that is rotting. You do go through the cabinets, you know, you do go through the latrine and you know, again, without passengers, this is a very empty boat. It seems like you guys though here on this boat there are no provisions. And whereas the noble boat has been stocked, you know, Captain Flagon here seems to subside purely on Alex. [00:06:38] Speaker C: We like Gail. [00:06:40] Speaker F: I. I am more worried about like what is he hiding under these like rotted boards and can you write for. [00:06:48] Speaker A: Like a millennium falcon? [00:06:51] Speaker F: Yeah, I know, I know he. This is The Falcon dude. Yeah. 18. [00:06:59] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:00] Speaker A: You do not Find a floorboard that contains a secret. But you do notice something about Captain F.L. flagon. You notice his ledger there seems to be immaculately kept. And you start to feel like there's something about this too. Perfect, you know? And in fact, like where is the normal crew that would run a ship like this? And so your curiosity is peaked. Your books. [00:07:28] Speaker F: Your bookkeeping is to the books. Yet your ship isn't so obviously a drunkard. So where is your account? Where is your bookkeeper? [00:07:41] Speaker H: Captain Floggin? [00:07:44] Speaker A: And he opens the lapel of his coat and you see a small pin. What does it show? It is a pair of eyes. [00:07:57] Speaker F: Can I do an insight on the pair of eyes? [00:08:00] Speaker A: You can. And rook, you can roll either sort of history or investigation. [00:08:05] Speaker F: I roll a 14. [00:08:07] Speaker C: Yeah, my history. I rolled a 22 or investigation. Sorry. Is what I was wrong. [00:08:13] Speaker B: 22. [00:08:15] Speaker A: It is a pin of the poison scepter. [00:08:18] Speaker C: Oh, we were. Weren't we? Trying to hook up with the poison scepter at one point. [00:08:25] Speaker D: That's Mickey and Dorothy. [00:08:29] Speaker C: Can we show. I want to show him. And that we got from Dorafil. I'm gonna show him my pin. [00:08:36] Speaker A: Okay, Rook. You. You. [00:08:38] Speaker F: I have no proof. [00:08:40] Speaker A: But you flash your. [00:08:43] Speaker E: Your. [00:08:43] Speaker C: We all got pins. [00:08:45] Speaker A: Yes, you do. And. And remember Captain Flagging, sort of a strange squat half orc. You're not sure whether he might be be part hobgoblin. He's very squat and he's got long arms and sort of slanted eyes. And he looks at you. He gives you a little wink, Rook. And then he gives you kaitoa a wink in the gun. [00:09:12] Speaker C: And I'm gonna ask him along the way. Is there somewhere we can actually I'm gonna mike over to Belleg and say we've got plenty of ale on this boat, but we don't have any food. How are you guys on your boat? [00:09:29] Speaker D: Terrible. We have just enough food for us to survive a little bit. [00:09:35] Speaker C: Full funky. [00:09:36] Speaker E: Can we. [00:09:37] Speaker F: Can we roll all Roll perception on that. [00:09:43] Speaker D: Bell egg. I get tell. I got to say bell. [00:09:47] Speaker A: I look at performance. [00:09:49] Speaker F: I look at rook and I tap. [00:09:52] Speaker C: I can tell him to give this stone to Steve. [00:09:56] Speaker D: Steve can't persuade as well. [00:10:00] Speaker B: I don't want to talk to him. [00:10:04] Speaker C: Steve, what's the story here, bud? [00:10:06] Speaker A: I don't. [00:10:06] Speaker F: I don't eat. [00:10:07] Speaker B: So Steve is focused on figuring out how to. How to change himself into whatever this mimic chest wants him to. [00:10:17] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm wondering that as well. [00:10:19] Speaker A: Oh, who might you. You're thinking who might be. [00:10:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm looking For, like, heraldry. I'm looking for notes. I'm looking for. [00:10:29] Speaker D: I'd love to. Yeah, do like, a whole sweep of this boat as well. [00:10:36] Speaker A: And you know, Captain Flagon looks around at both of you. Look. [00:10:41] Speaker H: Desperate people are the most dangerous. Higher and higher you go. I'll take you there. [00:10:49] Speaker C: Okay, we're going to. I gotta tell Captain Flagon we're destined. [00:10:56] Speaker A: For cousin the brass towers. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Oh. [00:11:03] Speaker H: I see. [00:11:05] Speaker D: They ask Flagon if he knows Mickey Flagon. [00:11:11] Speaker C: Do you know Bjrm? Mickey? [00:11:14] Speaker H: Wow, that is a name. [00:11:16] Speaker A: The. [00:11:17] Speaker H: There was a little gnome in town just when I docked. [00:11:21] Speaker A: Ble. [00:11:22] Speaker B: Bl. [00:11:22] Speaker H: And they have the fling. But no, my. My man is the wheelchair dwarf with the pigeons. [00:11:31] Speaker C: Oh, Dorfell. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Hold on. [00:11:37] Speaker H: But look, cosm is where I'll take you. Salty. [00:11:46] Speaker C: Hey, can I get some of that Bree there? Captain Flagon? [00:11:51] Speaker A: Yeah, well, as he leans hard on the tiller, you know, he seems to, you know, keep his eye on you and Kaitoa. You know, mostly he does the sailing. But no, he does ask for you guys, you know, at the end of the first day. I suppose you guys have gotten all this done, and I almost feel like close to montage time at the end of the first day. Like, he does need somebody to relieve his vessel. [00:12:14] Speaker D: Oh, the vessel's gotta go pee. [00:12:17] Speaker A: Yeah, indeed. Gotta empty the head. [00:12:23] Speaker H: No, really, we have to empty the head. The previous passengers have not emptied their waste compartment. That's the construction. [00:12:34] Speaker F: All right, I'll be your catheter. [00:12:37] Speaker H: It's worth 500 XP. [00:12:40] Speaker F: You keep sailing. Just keep sailing. [00:12:46] Speaker A: Well, look, guys, you're about to get a nice little rhythm going here. Any final inspections there? You know, Steve, you. You're starting to get a sense that this mimic chest here. And of course, it is also in a crate that does not permit its brass eye to see people approaching it. But, you know, you're starting to really sit down there and do some chin checking on all of the people that you've met and the people who you have been referred to. And you do think about that noble. [00:13:16] Speaker D: I'm trying to remember what that noble actually looks like. [00:13:19] Speaker A: You do think about that noble who is in, you know, the lineup of sort of, you know, the grieving people who. And then some people who were praising you for saving the soldiers. And then that noble, you know, who accused you and the party and mem of casting fireballs and conjuring dragons. That noble with the purple doublet. And as you look over at Beleg, you realize the whole time that's the disguise Beleg hasn't done a bad job at all. That's. That's the disguise. [00:13:49] Speaker D: Open up the chest. [00:13:52] Speaker B: All right, let's do it. [00:13:53] Speaker F: Does our boat know that they're attempting. Other than me yelling, there's probably a mimic on board. [00:14:01] Speaker D: There's a lot of shapeshifter to Dark Lord Shapeshifter. Dark Lord. We got a mimic chest back over and out there. [00:14:11] Speaker F: Do you think a twin brooch would help you attack this new chesser? [00:14:19] Speaker D: I said give that a Big Ten 4. [00:14:22] Speaker F: Zozo, you wanna Zozo or their old bird telegraph. You want to come grab this twin tiles brooch? [00:14:35] Speaker A: Sure. [00:14:35] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. I'll come over. [00:14:39] Speaker F: I'll meet you up there in the old crow swatch there. [00:14:43] Speaker A: I'll be holding it up. [00:14:45] Speaker E: All right. [00:14:46] Speaker F: See you, Anthony. [00:14:50] Speaker A: You know, it is not a windy evening at all. It is nice and crisp and the owl doctor is gonna do this little retrieval. [00:14:59] Speaker E: Yeah. Hey, well, I bring over a sandwich as well for Rook. [00:15:05] Speaker C: Oh, yes, thank you. [00:15:07] Speaker F: Rook there is getting hangry, so. Yeah, thanks. Industrial meat and bread. [00:15:13] Speaker A: Yeah. As Rook pilots there like Captain Flagon has actually gone into his little captain's bunk and there's no captain's cabin. So he's off in his little bunk. And so Rook, you're eating your sandwich and you're on the tiller. And Kaitoa, you pass off the brooch. Kaitoa, I'm gonna award you inspiration. This is going to complete another outfit. And so this noble brooch, this noble pin purple costume is completed. But Beleg. Steve. Which one of you. Steve, it was ultimately you that told Beleg that like, oh, that. That's the disguise. And now you see it completed by the brooch. But who's. Who's ultimately going to open the crate and display their costume to the mimic chest? [00:16:01] Speaker B: Beleg is the better performer. So Steve is going to. And I also don't have a spell slot right now to disguise self, so. [00:16:12] Speaker D: Then I don't need one. [00:16:15] Speaker A: Well, same thing. Here we go. [00:16:19] Speaker D: The teeth, the lips, the tip of the tongue. The teeth, the lips, the tongue. [00:16:23] Speaker A: Bellag. I will give you. I will give you one hint here. [00:16:29] Speaker D: Okay? [00:16:32] Speaker G: You remember this bombless pimpinel. [00:16:38] Speaker D: Barely. [00:16:41] Speaker G: This purple Pompous Pimpernel. What's his silly name? Pompous Pimpinel. [00:16:52] Speaker D: Hee pee. Pompous Pimpernel. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Who's that casting fireballs outside of poem? And I hear casting illusionary dreams dragons as well. [00:17:05] Speaker D: Who's that casting fireball outside the kiln? Casting illusionary dragons. As well. [00:17:12] Speaker A: Everyone's beneath me. [00:17:17] Speaker D: Yes, yes. [00:17:18] Speaker A: Oh, full of privilege. Oh. Oh, I'm a sneaky fucker. [00:17:23] Speaker D: Oh, it's too easy. Mwah. [00:17:25] Speaker A: Okay, so, yeah, as you approach this chest, anansewa sort of reminds you and whispers in your ear. [00:17:35] Speaker G: This is a familiar story. Play the act. Well, these pets are dangerous. [00:17:44] Speaker D: Ah, sounds good. [00:17:47] Speaker A: Okay, so beleg you have. You've got the okay from Steve. And Steve, we can assume you're standing by. And you crack open the crate, you know, with your summoned crowbar. All of a sudden, the brass eye looks at you as you pop off the top. And the brass eye all of a sudden focuses on your face. Something is missing. It is time for our favorite guess who. You have three questions as the brass eyes starts to really focus in on your face and head. [00:18:28] Speaker D: Do I have any facial hair? [00:18:30] Speaker A: Yes. [00:18:31] Speaker D: Is it a mustache? [00:18:34] Speaker A: No. Third question. [00:18:36] Speaker D: Do I have glasses? [00:18:39] Speaker A: No. And your purple doublet seems to be convincing. This chest. At the moment, its eye is very wary of you. Beleg. But it begins to unclasp, raises towards the ceiling. [00:18:58] Speaker B: It's all teeth. [00:19:00] Speaker A: Yeah. It's gonna snap down on you. It slams shut. Oh. [00:19:07] Speaker D: Mimic, chest open. I have so many stories to tell you. I must regale you of all the tales of the people I shot down. [00:19:18] Speaker A: Oh, Bella. Can you roll a charisma? [00:19:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:24] Speaker A: And the eye opens towards you again. Then you hear this sort of dry brass clicking. [00:19:31] Speaker D: That's 19. Oh, wait, no, that's a 22 plus modifiers over 20. [00:19:38] Speaker A: Okay, well, yes. Well, now it looks at you sort of lovingly and. Yeah, it seems to now start to recognize your voice. [00:19:47] Speaker D: Oh, yes, I. It must have been too long. I spent too long on the mainland. Oh, I'm sure you're very happy to have me back. [00:19:57] Speaker A: And its upper portion here lifts away and it reveals what is inside to you, belak. And to I suppose at least Steve and probably Zozo. You got Kaitoa on the line there, rook. You're also aware that inside here is a body. [00:20:20] Speaker D: Huh? A body? [00:20:23] Speaker A: Yes, there is a frozen body. It looks like it's in like a sort of small chamber, you know, similar to what you'd seen before in the cris bomb attic. Yeah, there is a bit of that sort of dry ice sort of appearance to this. But also, you know, somebody has. Has intentionally crafted a perfect sarcophagus for the size of this mimic. This one piece of hollowed out wood. [00:20:54] Speaker B: The fuck? [00:20:55] Speaker D: Oh. Do we recognize the body? [00:20:58] Speaker A: No, you cannot tell. It is shrouded, you know, underneath the, it's encapsulated. It's beneath the deep gnome dry ice. But you can tell there's a body in there. It's a medium sized creature for sure. Probably humanoid as you guys look in. [00:21:15] Speaker D: Can we pull the casket out or is it. It's all just frozen. [00:21:19] Speaker A: Oh yeah, you can absolutely pull the casket out. Yep. [00:21:22] Speaker B: Yeah. So this. Okay, so this body that we found, it is humanoid. [00:21:29] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:21:30] Speaker D: But it looks, it looks to be humanoid. [00:21:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Now that we've. So we've removed, is it a smaller chest within the mimic or we remove the body altogether? [00:21:39] Speaker A: You've removed the chest. And you know, I think Kaitoa mentioned it. You know, this is similar to the Crispak. And in fact, you will note, Dr. Zozo, this is some alchemy. You know, this is some highly pressurized sealed thing with the deep Gnome dry ice and the pressure seal. And you do not, you know, want to rupture this seal. [00:22:04] Speaker D: I'm not too worried about a frozen person right now. I just kind of want to know who they are. [00:22:12] Speaker B: I'm more interested in what this thing, what kind of humanoid this actually is. Yeah. [00:22:18] Speaker A: Well, guys, we are going to hit up a montage and keep that in mind. One of the goals, Steve, your goal will be on this one and a half week journey to cosmic through the seas. Your goal, one of them, Steve, will be to figure out what is going on with the creature inside the frozen sarcophagus there. And you know how we do this. I will kind of throw a challenge to get it started. You can't be the person that solves it. You can be the person that offers the solution with the help of one of your compatriots. So I will get it going. On the second day, you encounter two vessels that are fighting each other. One is coming from the mainland, one seems to be coming from the half Orcish kingdom of Ponchon. And they are about to engage each other. Your vessel is now within a 0.5 mile. And who will solve this? Nominate them. [00:23:23] Speaker B: If there's half orcs involved, I would nominate Rook. He would know more about it. [00:23:28] Speaker A: Okay, Steve, how does Rook solve this? [00:23:33] Speaker B: Well, he would know something, I would hope, about the, the half orc vessel and who, who is on it and if it's worth us engaging or helping or staying away from it. [00:23:44] Speaker A: Okay, Rook, can you quickly describe how you. You let your vessel pass through these two vessels that are about to engage? [00:23:53] Speaker C: Yeah, I would definitely be looking at the ship, figuring out if I see any sort of flags that they're flying on there. If I recognize the family symbol, the naval symbol, and. [00:24:07] Speaker A: Well, it is your family symbol. It is the royal family of Brunsleigh of Ponchen. [00:24:15] Speaker C: Well, then I would just kind of. [00:24:18] Speaker F: Let them thread the needle. [00:24:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I'd let them carry on taking care of these other people and not try to give away who I am. [00:24:26] Speaker B: Or what they were. [00:24:27] Speaker F: In here, Captain, let's squeeze between and. [00:24:31] Speaker A: Let the ship engage with the other. That's what I suggest. So what is your final goal there, Rook, as you manage your convoy of two ships through this conflagration? [00:24:43] Speaker C: Well, like I said, I just. I don't want to give away who I am or we're doing. Or who we are, so. [00:24:49] Speaker A: Okay. Can you roll a deception, Rook? [00:24:53] Speaker C: Deception, eh? [00:24:54] Speaker A: And then, Rook, you will get to sort of think of the next thing that your little convoy encounters. Roll a deception. 16. 16. [00:25:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:06] Speaker A: Okay. [00:25:08] Speaker G: His Royal Highness, Prince Poinsleigh of Ponchon, Duke of Shenanompin, Vice General, Governor of the Reach and Protector of the mainland realms. We will stand down. [00:25:23] Speaker F: Who's yelling that the half or boat. [00:25:28] Speaker A: And the ship from the mainland also turns around? Like, the. The ships from the mainland mostly seem to be manned by a sort of motley crew. And yeah, the ship from Ponchen seemed to be manned by, like, fairly well trained naval brigade. But you guys pass through and then. Rook, this is now sort of. What do you think happens next to your little convoy of two ships? You guys have still 10 days to go. [00:25:57] Speaker C: We just keep going towards Cosm and probably have a fishing derby. See, you can catch the biggest fish. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Where do you guys have the fishing competition where. Yeah. You will have to slow your pace. [00:26:14] Speaker D: I've got this awesome image in my mind of all of us trying to fish with rods, and then as soon as somebody getting a bite, zozo swooping down and stealing the fish that's on the line from everybody. [00:26:28] Speaker A: Can everybody. What would that be? Survival. [00:26:30] Speaker B: Survival. [00:26:31] Speaker A: Everybody will survive. [00:26:34] Speaker B: Well, because of my. Because of my natural explorer ability being a Ranger, would I be able to get a bonus? [00:26:45] Speaker C: Oh, man. [00:26:46] Speaker B: I just nat. [00:26:47] Speaker C: I just nat. 2024. [00:26:49] Speaker A: Oh, and you even suggested the competition. Okay, well, rookie is reeling up something big here. Those. [00:26:55] Speaker E: Look at 11. [00:26:56] Speaker D: Okay, Bella got 12. [00:26:58] Speaker B: You Zozo. [00:26:59] Speaker A: 11. 12. Steve, you could roll with. I'd say you could maybe roll with an advantage roll. [00:27:05] Speaker B: Yeah, because of my natural explorer, I can. My fishing, I imagine, falls under foraging, and I'm really good at that. [00:27:12] Speaker D: You did supply us with fish in the past. [00:27:15] Speaker E: Yeah, Zozo is definitely just swooping down with, with her talons and plucking fish. [00:27:21] Speaker D: Out of the water. [00:27:25] Speaker B: Steve gets a 25. [00:27:29] Speaker A: Nice. Oh, Steve, you have rivaled the size of Rook's North Len C. Marlin. And then Zozo, you steal Belegs fish and you also steal Kaitoa. What'd you get like 14? [00:27:49] Speaker D: Kaitoa is too busy watching Flagon. [00:27:52] Speaker A: You managed to just get a piece of Kaitoa's Northland sea trout. And you guys are eating a fantastic fish tonight. And Captain Flagon joins in and his flag and ale is just fantastic. [00:28:12] Speaker D: Bonfire to make sure that that fish gets extra crisp. [00:28:15] Speaker A: Oh, extra crispy. And so. So who solved that one? So who won that one? Steve, you won that one. So you get to tell us what is the next encounter in this sort of rapid fire montage that the crew of the. Guys, we got to figure out a name. What's the purple vessel? [00:28:36] Speaker B: The Ocean Eggplant. [00:28:41] Speaker D: Is it like a. It's an O boat gene. [00:28:48] Speaker A: The O boat gene. AKA the Ocean Eggplant. And then. Okay, and then Captain Flaggins is his. His far reach fairy. Okay, so here's the convoy. What's the next challenge, Steve? [00:29:04] Speaker B: Steve is still interested in the little creature in the box. So he's gonna make use of Zozo's medical background. Being that Zozo is a doctor, I think they're gonna spend some time and he wants to see if Zozo's got extra insights on this creature. [00:29:23] Speaker D: In the time of guilds, having a female doctor is so progressive. [00:29:28] Speaker B: Dr. Zozo, medicine owl. [00:29:30] Speaker D: I love it. [00:29:31] Speaker A: Okay, Dr. Zozo, you know what? Would you roll? And yes. Now it's been almost four or five days. As you pass the point of Oranu, you're passing the rather large port city of Alsta and you'll be up to Norton soon, which is the northernmost point here of this part of the north western continent. And then truly, if you are sailing to Kazum, there's nothing between Nortonham and Kosum but the island of Zirtnil. There's the small town of Maw, but otherwise there is the cliff city of Kazum. So yeah, what's your role in there, Owl? [00:30:12] Speaker E: Doctor, I'm going to roll investigation. Okay, that is a one. [00:30:23] Speaker D: No. [00:30:26] Speaker A: You accidentally break the seal, blue ice and blue steam starts to pour out of this thing. Like your talon caught the seal. You were being careless, Dr. Zozo. They're gonna revoke your license. [00:30:42] Speaker E: I'm too curious. [00:30:45] Speaker A: What do you do. [00:30:47] Speaker H: Put it back. [00:30:48] Speaker B: In the mimic chest? [00:30:49] Speaker A: Put it back in the mimic chest, yeah. So Steve and Beleg were with you? [00:30:54] Speaker E: Yeah, I pick it up and try to throw it back into the chest. [00:30:59] Speaker B: You may have to watch us throw the Mimic chest overboard from the other boat. [00:31:06] Speaker D: Oh, don't slam the chest shut. [00:31:08] Speaker A: So you rush down the stairs as you hear the commotion and the hissing of cold gas. And you notice in this moment that the mimic chest notices its owner is not around. Who the f is this she owl Doctor. But this mimic starts to morph. [00:31:27] Speaker D: If I run down, I haven't taken off it. That disguise has stayed on this whole time on the boat. [00:31:33] Speaker A: Okay, can you roll a dexterity saving throw as you trip down the stairs? [00:31:39] Speaker B: Yep. [00:31:41] Speaker D: Oh, God. Good God. Oh, I'm coming. [00:31:43] Speaker B: You. [00:31:44] Speaker D: You useless people. You're terrible. That's an. That's a seven. [00:31:50] Speaker A: Okay. So Steve, throughout this little montage, what you realize here is that your casket here inside you did get a glimpse when it burst open with the foul doctor's clumsiness. And now that Belak has kind of saved the day. And Beleg will give you Han Zozo joint agency over what the next little challenge is for this motley crew. But you'll note that it was some sort of very Elvish looking creature. Like perhaps more than half Elvish. [00:32:29] Speaker D: Okay. [00:32:31] Speaker B: From the time that we were with Kaitoa and Kris, bomb was damaged. Is this thing now open or is it. Does it look like it's dangerously leaking? [00:32:41] Speaker A: It is now safely sealed inside the Mimic. [00:32:45] Speaker B: So there is some worry that we have actually damaged it to the point where it could potentially be dangerous. [00:32:52] Speaker A: Yeah, no, there's a little talon rupture in the seal. [00:32:56] Speaker B: All right, well, that's where it lives. I'm going to. I'm going to impart the information. So it is it. There's an elf in there. There's a chili elf in there. [00:33:12] Speaker A: Chili elf. Okay. Zozo and Bellic, can you sort of jointly figure out now you are now leaving Norton M. You have probably with your little convoy not really needed to stop anywhere. But now, you know, there is a long cold voyage. And although the weather in the late spring here has changed to being a little bit warmer, you guys are heading northwards still and there are still parts of, you know, frozen bays and it is quite cold. What do you think the challenges are as you take a, you know now roughly the last six days of your journey? It is a 400 mile journey if you choose to go directly or it is 2,200 mile journeys if you choose to stop at the island of Zurbanil. [00:34:03] Speaker D: So there's mass global warming and we look to the side and there's a small floating chunk of ice with a polar bear on it. We have to try and save the polar bear. [00:34:20] Speaker A: Can you roll initiative? And who do you think is going to kill this polar bear? [00:34:29] Speaker E: Not me. [00:34:30] Speaker A: Whoever rolls highest. We are eating polar bear tonight. [00:34:33] Speaker D: I rolled a 13. [00:34:35] Speaker E: I got a seven. [00:34:36] Speaker A: Okay. [00:34:37] Speaker B: Steve rolled a crit 20. [00:34:40] Speaker D: Oh, pacifist. Steve can't resist the will to forage and he wants to get food. [00:34:49] Speaker C: Roll a 16. [00:34:51] Speaker A: Okay. It looks like Steve is at the moment in the opportunity of like feeding everybody. This would be fantastic. [00:34:58] Speaker H: Hey, you know what? This will make fantastic outfits for the party. You can all have a bit of lighting fur on your outfits for next season. [00:35:07] Speaker D: We unlock new skins. [00:35:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:13] Speaker B: Winter skins. [00:35:15] Speaker D: Fuck yeah. We didn't even need a loot box for it. [00:35:18] Speaker A: Kaitoa, what was your initiative? Can you beat the ranger boy? [00:35:22] Speaker F: I am a 19. [00:35:25] Speaker D: Oh, not quite. [00:35:27] Speaker A: Not quite. Okay, so Kaitoha, you are definitely doing some skinning with VO dog because this is a huge polar bear. And Steve, can you tell us how you take the polar bear down? And I will tell you. This is an old sow. You know what, it was good you took her down. [00:35:42] Speaker B: Alright. Well I feel better about it. She was about to go anyway. I going to hunter's marker for that. Good, good. Extra damage. And then I am just going to unload extra, extra attack action surge style with as many arrows as I can fire from my for my eager short bow. [00:36:05] Speaker A: Okay. And you do a very humane kill. And friends and adventurers as you now sail towards the island of Zirp. Neil, as you know, you guys have crafted sweet skin upgrades to your costumes. [00:36:26] Speaker E: Yes. [00:36:27] Speaker F: Fur lining God is like gathering skins and sinew for like sewing. And I'm making like. [00:36:38] Speaker D: Oh make Steve a new bow. [00:36:41] Speaker F: Yeah, I. I'm starting to do. [00:36:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:43] Speaker F: Bowstring. Like can I do a polar bowstring for Steve? [00:36:49] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:36:50] Speaker D: Steve, you're. I hope you took the. The skull wearing it as a hat over your like like you look like a raver girl right now. [00:36:59] Speaker B: Just big fur lined boots, massive furloughed. [00:37:02] Speaker D: Boots and the huge polar bear head on top of your head. [00:37:07] Speaker E: Zozo finds some ingredients, some polar bear bile and stuff starts bottling it up. [00:37:14] Speaker A: Oh, bottled fat. [00:37:16] Speaker F: Like rendered fat. [00:37:18] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:37:20] Speaker A: Oil bomb. [00:37:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Well Zozo and sort of party. Is there any trading or any interest you guys would have before you approach the bay of the cliff City of chum in the island of Zirp Neil. Now this is known for a very. Well, actually. Let's Everybody roll a D4. See if you know anything about zer. [00:37:46] Speaker D: Ball. Got a three. [00:37:48] Speaker E: Got a four. [00:37:49] Speaker A: Oh, rook got a one. [00:37:51] Speaker B: No, rook. [00:37:55] Speaker A: Rook, you skipped this lesson in history class. [00:38:00] Speaker B: Steve has been there. [00:38:02] Speaker A: Steve's been there. Yeah. [00:38:04] Speaker E: Two. [00:38:05] Speaker A: Okay, you've got it too. And you can also be assured that. Yes, Zirp Neil is a hunting island where they hunt a very elusive creature. There's a lively trading town and it is mostly skins and furs and oils. So the party, if they do stop in, you'd probably be able to trade some of that delicious polar bear meat. Because in fact, there's way too much. I mean, this would last somebody for an entire winter. [00:38:38] Speaker B: If only we had some kind of freezer. Throw the polar bear meat on top of the elf. [00:38:54] Speaker D: If that mimic chest is sentient, that would just be the war. Like this is what I've been reduced to. [00:38:59] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:39:00] Speaker D: I'm a chest freezer. [00:39:07] Speaker A: So here's where you are. You're about 20 miles off the coast of Zirp Neil. The natural thing would be to go directly to the COVID of Maw and then head right up to. You have the supplies for it. But this is certainly the last point of civilization. You are entering the realm of the Wizards Guild. But. Yeah. What is the party doing now? As let's say the sun sets and you see the blinking island lights of Zurpanil. [00:39:41] Speaker F: So we're like approaching on moth Zer, Neil. [00:39:47] Speaker A: Oh, Zer. Yeah, yeah. [00:39:49] Speaker B: It's a little island between yeah and Norton. [00:39:54] Speaker E: I'd be up for stopping. [00:39:56] Speaker D: Ah. I don't want to take time away from rescuing Mickey though. [00:40:02] Speaker F: I keep going to m. We're on a. [00:40:05] Speaker B: We're on a rescue mission. [00:40:08] Speaker D: Hey, hey, Rob. How much. How much salt is on vessel? We have plenty of salt. [00:40:15] Speaker H: I live on Salt Lagoon. Bleh. Bleg. [00:40:18] Speaker A: Blag. [00:40:19] Speaker H: And the barrel here. [00:40:20] Speaker D: Salt. [00:40:21] Speaker H: And the flagon is the blagon. [00:40:25] Speaker D: If we got salt. Let's just cure the rest of this polar bear while we risk Mickey. [00:40:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:40:31] Speaker A: I'm down. [00:40:33] Speaker H: Wow. A fair wind to Ma. [00:40:37] Speaker A: And the lights of Zirp Neil recede behind the party as the various captains here of the two vessels steer their ships northwards. And you are now traversing the Nort sea. It is now the dead of night. Robin. [00:40:57] Speaker F: Can I roll a history check? Do I know these north southern seas? [00:41:03] Speaker A: Yes, you can roll history with a. Is it with advantage or plus one. No, it's plus one. To history, Jacks. Yeah, with your Sojourners medallion. Yeah. Anybody else? Now, as it is the dead of night, as Zirp Neil and the island lights recede behind you, it is deadly cold and all the stars are out. And in fact, both moons rise above Behru. [00:41:27] Speaker E: What'd you get? [00:41:27] Speaker B: Kantoa? [00:41:28] Speaker E: 16. [00:41:29] Speaker A: Yes. You have not traversed the North Sea in this age. [00:41:36] Speaker F: I wouldn't think I have been. [00:41:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes, the world is much changed from when you were once here. [00:41:46] Speaker F: Have I heard stories or. [00:41:49] Speaker A: You have. In fact, your big metal brain would think about the terrible things in the dark depths of the world that are in a constant struggle beneath the waves in the deepest places, like the North Sea. I mean, although you guys can tell this is a bottomless, bottomless ocean beneath you, and all of a sudden, something crashes into the ferry. Can everybody roll? Initiative. Okay, so Kaitoa and Rook and Captain Flagon, you are thrown. And then everybody on the. The Aubergine. [00:42:29] Speaker B: What is the name of that purple vessel? [00:42:31] Speaker D: The Oboe Jean. [00:42:33] Speaker B: The Oboe Jean. [00:42:34] Speaker A: Everybody aboard the Obo Jean, the Robo Jean, startled as they see the fairy, like, rise up out of the ocean about 10. 10ft and then slam back down in a huge spray. [00:42:50] Speaker C: I rolled an 18. [00:42:51] Speaker F: Yeah, it rolled a nat 20, so it's about 17. [00:42:55] Speaker A: Okay. [00:42:56] Speaker D: Are we. We're rolling as well? [00:42:58] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, Yeah. [00:43:00] Speaker D: I rolled an 11, Stevie boy. [00:43:05] Speaker B: 12 for Steve. [00:43:07] Speaker E: Really? [00:43:08] Speaker B: Steve is. I don't know. I think he was starting stargazing or something. [00:43:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, maybe transfixed by the gorgeous two moons that are up tonight. [00:43:18] Speaker B: Oh, by the way, I have. I have since brought Stolas back. He doesn't need to stay and stay on the other side. That's. Combat is well over, so. Yeah, Stolas is. [00:43:30] Speaker D: It's been one week since summoned me. [00:43:33] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:43:34] Speaker A: So, Zozo, you're doing pretty well here. Maybe you were in the Crow's nest. [00:43:38] Speaker E: Yeah, I think she was up there brushing up on her astronomy. [00:43:42] Speaker A: Oh, that's true as well. Yes. So both you and Steve are kind of out there stargazing, and perhaps Stolas up there as well, but now rocked, you know, by the realization that your. Your fellow vessel in the convoy has been attacked. And Beleg. I'm missing Kaitoa and Rook. I'm missing who's on the. The fairy vessel. [00:44:03] Speaker F: I rolled a nat 20. [00:44:05] Speaker E: Okay. [00:44:05] Speaker C: Not 20 for Kaitoa, and I've got an 18. [00:44:08] Speaker A: 18 for Rook. And you know what? Flag and rolled a 17, so look, it's like everybody on the ferry is going actually first. [00:44:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Okay, so everybody on the ferry first. Kaitoa, you are rocked. And yeah, the whole boat has lifted up. Smashes down. And water. Water is coming into the ferry. [00:44:30] Speaker F: Enrage. [00:44:31] Speaker B: Build a max plank. [00:44:33] Speaker A: You build up a huge steam burst. And now you are enraged. I'm gonna do. [00:44:40] Speaker F: I don't see an attack. So actually already a crossbow that nullish heavy crossbow. [00:44:49] Speaker A: Fit a bolt. [00:44:51] Speaker F: Yeah. So that's ready. And that's my first action. Bonus action, which is like enraging. So I have a secondary action, which I believe I could fire the crossbow. [00:45:07] Speaker A: If you're training a crossbow out along the gunwales, I mean, now you're seeing the surging Black Sea. And now as you look out at the Black Sea and train your crossbow, are you readying in action? [00:45:21] Speaker F: I was at the the crow's nest. [00:45:24] Speaker A: If you're up there, you're sort of rocking severely still. You know, you're tipping back and forth. But you'd have a much better view of what's down in the Black Sea. [00:45:34] Speaker F: So, yeah, I'd say I'm still up there. Ready crossbow. If anything rocks the boat. [00:45:42] Speaker A: Okay. As you look now, you can pierce the waves. And you see there is some sort of giant creature beneath the convoy. This is no small creature. And in fact, you know, it is dark tonight. And the lightning begins to collect and thunder begins to roll in. And there's a lightning crash. And you see illuminated below you something gigantic. [00:46:13] Speaker F: So I have no dark visions. And so I would just fire into the darkness. [00:46:21] Speaker D: Oh, we killed the baby polar bear. This is mama polar bear. [00:46:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:46:26] Speaker A: Okay. You can roll on AC from up in the crow's nest. Yes. You can shoot down to the water. [00:46:31] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:46:32] Speaker F: Oh, that does suck. Is that 13? [00:46:39] Speaker A: You feel your bolt pierce down into the black waves. And this creature is literally beneath the waves. Kaito. And as your bolt goes down into the waves, it is coming out from beneath between the ships. Up in your little crow's nest. [00:46:55] Speaker F: Did it a 13 hit? [00:46:57] Speaker A: Oh, yes. Roll damage. [00:46:58] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. So D10 heavy, heavy crossbow. [00:47:05] Speaker A: And then, rook, you're on deck, literally after this, you've kind of been tossed around. [00:47:12] Speaker F: A seven plus three. So ten damage. [00:47:18] Speaker A: You would definitely say, you know, you've hit a fleshy living creature. Rook, as you. As you sort of dash out and you're running out. [00:47:27] Speaker C: Can I assess is do I need to pull out a bow or can I attack with my swords from the deck? [00:47:36] Speaker A: You would have to jump into the Black Sea. [00:47:39] Speaker C: Okay, well, Then I will. [00:47:41] Speaker A: No, don't do it. [00:47:43] Speaker C: I will pull out my longbow. Take game. [00:47:46] Speaker A: I'll pass you an arrow. Boy, it's been fun. [00:47:51] Speaker C: Oh shit. So that's actually a NAT20. So 25 double damage, right? [00:47:58] Speaker A: Yeah, double your damage dice. [00:48:01] Speaker C: Okay, so that's. That's gonna be a 12 total damage. And then also. [00:48:09] Speaker B: Oh, what is it? [00:48:11] Speaker C: The creature. When I crit on somebody, it's or a creature, it is frightened of me until the end of. Was it the end of my next turn? [00:48:22] Speaker A: Oh, shit. Does it matter what size the creature is? And do they need to roll anything? [00:48:29] Speaker C: I don't believe so. I'm just double checking here. The order feature. So because my order is the profane soul and my entity that I draw my power from is the Great Old One. It says whenever you deal a critical hit to a creature, the creature must make. Oh, a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC on a failure is frightened until the end of your. [00:48:54] Speaker B: His turn. [00:48:56] Speaker G: Oh, the Great Old One. That's me. S. I will take delight in fighting away a giant sea creature. [00:49:10] Speaker A: And yeah, at the moment the creature beneath the waves has disappeared. So rook, you could theoretically take a shot, but now you'd be taking it into the black ocean. And at the moment everything between the ships has, you know, receded away. Although still it's very choppy black waters. Still, there's a couple of rolling thunder clouds and a lightning flash every once in a while. Anything else in your move, Rook? [00:49:44] Speaker C: No, not if it's gone away or gone back into the sea. Okay, stand there at the ready. [00:49:51] Speaker A: Captain Flagon then is on the tiller and he's looking as much as he can sort of up and out at you and Kaitoa. Kaitoa, you're up in the crow's nest. Rook, you're off to the side. And Dr. Zozo, you're up. [00:50:08] Speaker E: So I can't see where it is. [00:50:11] Speaker A: Just disappeared. [00:50:13] Speaker E: Okay. I think. Steve, what are you gonna attack with? [00:50:21] Speaker B: I guess my bow. [00:50:22] Speaker E: Arrow. Okay, pass me an arrow. Okay, I'm gonna coat the arrow in alchemical acid and hand it back to Steve. [00:50:32] Speaker D: Least environmentally friendly thing ever. [00:50:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:37] Speaker E: So that arrow will do 44 plus 4 acid damage. [00:50:42] Speaker B: Was it 3? It's 2D 4 or 3D 4? 4D. [00:50:45] Speaker E: 4. [00:50:45] Speaker B: 4. Oh, hello. Including the damage from the arrow? [00:50:50] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, that's on top of the damage from the arrow. Yeah, I think that that Use my action. [00:50:58] Speaker A: You can certainly roll a sort of a skill or ability of your choice, if that's all you're doing. You know, there's no attack roll in this moment, so I'd give you another sort of element to your move. [00:51:10] Speaker E: Okay, I will roll investigation to try, and I wanna, based on what I observe, try to figure out what it is. I rolled a 10. [00:51:22] Speaker A: A 10? Hmm. And what specifically would you like to glean? [00:51:30] Speaker E: I want to just kind of figure out the nature of the beast. What are we facing? Okay. [00:51:37] Speaker D: Whoop, whoop. It's the nature of the beast. Whoop, whoop. [00:51:42] Speaker A: You feel like this creature definitely was a tentacled creature. [00:51:50] Speaker E: This is a kraken, probably a kraken, yeah. [00:51:53] Speaker A: As you saw, you know, just beneath the waves and the lightning clattered and you saw Rook, you know, take a bow shot and Kaitoa take a bow shot at this thing beneath the waves. As it darted away, you got that icky feeling of giant tentacles. But at the moment, you know, as the little convoy surges along, is there anything else? Are you staying up top in the crow's nest? [00:52:18] Speaker E: Where is Steve? If he's not up there, then I went to where he is. [00:52:23] Speaker B: We were on deck. Okay. [00:52:25] Speaker E: So, yeah, I swoosh out on you. [00:52:26] Speaker B: Guys like the constellation of Bob the Cowboy and Joe the cowboy. [00:52:35] Speaker A: Okay? Dr. Zozo handing it off to Steve, literally. You've given him a cool little alchemical ammunition there. Steve, what's in your move? [00:52:45] Speaker B: Can I hold my attack action? I want to make use of this arrow should this tentacle beast pop back up. [00:52:52] Speaker A: Yep, you can hold. [00:52:53] Speaker B: Sweet. [00:52:54] Speaker A: Okay, Bella, you're steering. [00:52:57] Speaker D: I'm good. [00:52:58] Speaker B: Oh. [00:52:59] Speaker A: Anything else in your moves, team? [00:53:02] Speaker B: I. I want to. I want to send Stolis up to. To get a better view. [00:53:08] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. So use a Stolis recon, all right? [00:53:14] Speaker B: Advantage on hearing in sight. [00:53:19] Speaker A: Stolas gets hit by lightning. [00:53:22] Speaker H: Oh, no. [00:53:24] Speaker A: Can you take SO five lightning damage? [00:53:27] Speaker B: Five lightning? [00:53:27] Speaker E: Yep. [00:53:28] Speaker B: Jesus. [00:53:29] Speaker A: And the storm surges. I mean, Stolas is just a little fried. [00:53:34] Speaker B: He was made of metal all along. [00:53:36] Speaker A: But, yeah, this was just a bad moment for Stolas. [00:53:41] Speaker B: Rut row. All right, well, you can fly back down then. [00:53:46] Speaker A: He joins you on the deck. [00:53:48] Speaker B: I had no idea he was made of metal. Too much iron in his diet. [00:53:57] Speaker A: Steve Stolas. Yeah. If there's nothing else in your move, Steve. [00:54:03] Speaker B: I'm just holding. [00:54:04] Speaker A: Yeah, holding. Bella, you're. You have the wheel. Is there anything you would do in this moment that we're gonna be at the top of the order? Because whoever, whatever, rolled an 8 is at the moment frightened away from the convoy. [00:54:21] Speaker D: How close are we to the other boat. [00:54:24] Speaker A: You guys are trying to stay within. [00:54:25] Speaker D: 60, 90ft of each other and it attacked that boat. Yeah, that's kind of my thought. We've got good range. Let's see if we can move like hundred hundred feet away. Tying a little Larry away from. Away from where the tentacled creature was. [00:54:46] Speaker A: Okay. [00:54:48] Speaker E: And that the. The weapon coding only lasts turn. So. [00:54:51] Speaker A: One turn. [00:54:53] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:54:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, you guys are halfway between the maw of Tonwyn there. And so you're pulling a Larry. You're starting to diverge away a little bit. Belak anything else in your move, Captain Bellic? [00:55:09] Speaker D: I've got darkvision. I'd love to just try and see if I can see where the creature is. [00:55:14] Speaker A: Well, you see Kaitoa, who is next on deck. So get ready, Kaitoa. You see Kaitoa strapped up to the crow's nest. He's lashed himself up there and he's swaying back and forth. And the lightning. And you see the black chopping water. No, there's nothing that you can see beyond your little convoy. [00:55:36] Speaker D: Sweet. And yeah. All about evasive maneuvering then. [00:55:41] Speaker A: Okay. Nothing else? No clever can trips? No little bonfires on the deck? No nothing? [00:55:48] Speaker D: I don't think so. I thought about it. [00:55:51] Speaker F: Hedera's not hungry. [00:55:53] Speaker D: I did think about fighting tentacles with tentacles, but a little slurp on surf action. [00:55:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:00] Speaker D: I want to wait until we can see it again, though. I don't want to. I only got two spell slots. I don't want to blow them. [00:56:06] Speaker A: All right. Okay. Kaitoa, you are up. In this moment, there is nothing to attack. Everyone holds their action. Yeah. [00:56:18] Speaker F: I'm going to take any piece of rope I have on my body and I'm going to tie myself this mast. [00:56:29] Speaker A: You lash yourself there. Can you roll a quick survival? Give us a nice sailor's knot. [00:56:35] Speaker F: Oh, sailors find my day. [00:56:40] Speaker A: And as you look down, you know, you see Oldfoot. He's passing Rook another arrow to train on the dark waters. And as you lash yourself on there, would you roll? [00:56:53] Speaker E: What do I get to add to that? [00:56:55] Speaker A: Are you proficient in survival? [00:56:57] Speaker F: Oh, plus one. [00:57:00] Speaker E: 16. [00:57:01] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. So you feel very secure? Yes. Okay. You're like a turret up there. Second action. [00:57:10] Speaker F: I would say I am reloading the old crossbow bolt. [00:57:15] Speaker A: You're readying. You're. You're ready. Action. You're up there. Okay. Anything else now? [00:57:27] Speaker D: Okay. [00:57:27] Speaker A: Lightning crashes and Rook, you're up. [00:57:35] Speaker C: Are we? Is our boat still able to move or is it too damaged to do anything? [00:57:40] Speaker A: Or the boat has taken On a lot of water. And yes, Rook, it does seem like there might be a bit of a problem. But you're float and I mean, you're sailing along. I mean, there's actually danger right now on how high the waves are. I mean, you're a little. Little boat is surging along through this midnight storm. You're not sinking. [00:58:09] Speaker B: Okay. [00:58:12] Speaker C: Okay, I will. Yeah, Ready another bow and just kind of keep my eyes on the water. This thing pops up again. [00:58:20] Speaker A: Okay, time to chum the water. How so how long would you say that a creature like this might be, you know, frightened by the, you know, the appearance of, you know, your. Your great old one there? You seem to imbue with the fierce spirit of your ancestor there. How long do you think this squeeaty might be gone for, Rook? [00:58:45] Speaker D: Just long enough for us to escape. [00:58:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:58:51] Speaker A: It'S 120 miles to the maw and it's like, probably this storm's gonna last the night. [00:58:57] Speaker C: Yeah, it's. It's only frightened of me until the end of. Well, this turn, right? So. [00:59:04] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:59:05] Speaker C: I frightened it on the last one. And says frightened until the end of your next turn. [00:59:13] Speaker A: Okay, the end of your next turn. Yeah, which is this turn. Flagon is up and, you know, Flagon straps his flagon into the inside of his sailor's vest and he grits his teeth and he holds on to the tiller and says the flagon. And then there is a huge tumult of water that. That washes over the deck of the ferry. And guys, over on the other boat there, you can see the storm is just wreaking havoc with the small ferry. [00:59:59] Speaker F: And. [01:00:01] Speaker A: Zozo, you are up. Then Stolas and then Steven and Beleg. [01:00:09] Speaker E: Okay, I think I'm gonna fly over to the. The other boat. Okay, how far part are they now? [01:00:18] Speaker A: Yeah, about 90ft. Maybe 60 to 90ft as the waves and the winds crash around. [01:00:24] Speaker E: Okay, I'll have to do a sprint. I can fly 50ft normally. [01:00:32] Speaker A: It sounds like a dash. Yes, it will sound like you will need to dash, but you'll make it. You'll make it. [01:00:37] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, yeah, I'll. I will. I think I'll perch up in the. The crow's nest with Kaitoa. [01:00:45] Speaker A: Up in the crow's nest with metal Kaitoa. You just managed to get your tail to the ed. [01:01:02] Speaker D: Always fun to learn the error of your ways. [01:01:05] Speaker B: Yep. Tonight we learn science. [01:01:11] Speaker A: You guys feel another lightning roll coming up, but that is actually not going to. We're rolling on a random Table here. But, guys, it's a fierce storm. And zozo, what would you communicate to Kaito as you guys are both lit up by a crack of white lightning? [01:01:32] Speaker E: I think I'm. Did it hit us or did it. [01:01:35] Speaker A: No, it has sort of struck about several arms length off the bow of the boat. [01:01:43] Speaker H: Crowded. [01:01:45] Speaker B: It hits solace again. [01:01:54] Speaker F: Yeah, don't take flight. [01:01:56] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:01:59] Speaker F: Stay grounded. [01:02:01] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. I think I'll use the flash to try and see if I can spot the creature. [01:02:07] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Roll a perception. [01:02:11] Speaker E: Okay. [01:02:11] Speaker A: And you're gonna try and time the next flash. Now you're really, really watching Zozo. [01:02:18] Speaker E: Yeah. Yep. That's 11. [01:02:22] Speaker A: Okay, you see a dark patch beneath the other ship. Now you see a dark patch beneath the o boat, Gene. [01:02:33] Speaker B: Okay. [01:02:36] Speaker E: I point and yell, it's under the other boat. [01:02:41] Speaker A: And you are now up. Stolas. [01:02:47] Speaker B: Stolas is chilling right now. [01:02:48] Speaker D: Okay? [01:02:50] Speaker G: St. [01:02:51] Speaker B: He's. He's not gonna. He's not gonna fly. He learned his lesson. [01:02:55] Speaker A: Little crispy. [01:02:56] Speaker B: Okay. Hang out. So I heard that something's under our boat. [01:03:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, you. The owl frantically, you know, shouts and points over. Now, with her and Kaitoa's vantage point beneath you. [01:03:15] Speaker F: How far are the boats between each other? [01:03:17] Speaker A: 90. 90. [01:03:19] Speaker E: Okay. [01:03:21] Speaker B: Is it possible that I could do something similar with. With a bit of rope to Kaitoa to keep myself from getting knocked off the side of the boat? [01:03:29] Speaker A: Yeah, if you're worried, just a simple survival. A not check, please. [01:03:35] Speaker B: Yeah, no problem. Seventeen plus six, I think. [01:03:40] Speaker A: Okay. And as the next lightning cracks, you know, you're also able to see over to the little ferry there. Yes. It is taking on water. [01:03:52] Speaker B: Enough that it's probably well short of the sea creature underneath us. It would behoove them to move onto our boat, you think? [01:04:01] Speaker A: Well, Steve, I mean, yeah, you don't need to roll intelligence for that. Like, it's just. It's listed and it is not looking great. But your vessel at the moment, you know, has not been molested. Although you're getting awfully worried as you see zozo, you know, gesticulate wildly beneath your feet. [01:04:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Evasive maneuvers, Beleg. Evasive maneuvers. [01:04:28] Speaker A: Beleg. You are up next, Captain. Beleg. You hear shouting amongst the thunderclaps. [01:04:35] Speaker B: It's below us. Amazing maneuvers. [01:04:39] Speaker A: Has he muted himself? [01:04:41] Speaker B: Oh, he's been making so many jokes that we haven't heard. [01:04:46] Speaker D: No, no, no. [01:04:47] Speaker B: All right. [01:04:49] Speaker D: I had to. I had to go pee, so I unplugged my mic. [01:04:53] Speaker B: Belly's not even at the wheel. He's just Taking a piss off the side of the boat, huh? [01:04:59] Speaker D: Oh, man. [01:05:00] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:05:01] Speaker D: Fucking trow down. Dropping dookie off the side. [01:05:05] Speaker B: Number two, that polar bear is too rich. [01:05:10] Speaker A: As you shout into the captain's cabin there. [01:05:15] Speaker B: Evasive maneuvers. [01:05:19] Speaker F: And the orcish boat is sinking. [01:05:22] Speaker D: Your boat is sinking. [01:05:24] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:05:24] Speaker D: Oh, good lord. [01:05:27] Speaker F: Ah, we're being scuttled. [01:05:29] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:05:30] Speaker A: And Bella, you are at the end of the order. We're gonna hit you. And then our good friend who rolled an 8 is going to be the end of the order. And then we're gonna sign off for tonight. [01:05:42] Speaker D: Okay. So it's right underneath us. [01:05:45] Speaker A: Yep. [01:05:46] Speaker D: So I'm gonna spin the wheel and try and head to the direction of the little orchid boat that's going down. And once I spin it, I'm gonna cast some hunger of Hadar right behind us in between our boat and where the creature would have been below us. [01:06:09] Speaker A: Are you attempting to make Taco Ramen? [01:06:13] Speaker E: Yep. [01:06:14] Speaker A: Oh, Taco Ramen below. [01:06:18] Speaker D: But like below the. The hull of the boat. [01:06:21] Speaker A: So back towards the sinking ferry. The slowly sinking ferry. And what with one hand on the wheel, you're gonna sort of cast backwards in the trail of the ship. Hunger of Hadar. [01:06:35] Speaker E: Yep. [01:06:35] Speaker F: I love, I love the whole like turn into the boat and then last minute being like, turn left and then as they do like this massive fish tail him looking back and just being like the finger in the gun. [01:06:51] Speaker D: Oh, it's like in the car chase movies. Yeah. One hand on the wheel, like the. [01:06:55] Speaker F: Hand James Bond style, like. [01:06:58] Speaker D: Yep. [01:07:01] Speaker A: You don't have to roll anything to do that. That's just a spell slot. [01:07:05] Speaker D: Yep. [01:07:06] Speaker A: Can you describe what the party would see now as the AU boat Jean swings and fishtails and behind it there is the familiar dark space between the stars. But now sort of in the water. [01:07:25] Speaker D: Yeah. So I think the water behind the obo Jean is just bubbling profusely. Yeah. Think like when you're making rice in a pot that's not big enough to make rice in and it starts boiling over underneath the lid. [01:07:43] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. [01:07:46] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. I guess. I guess your. Your acid dipped arrow isn't quite as bad for the environment. [01:07:57] Speaker B: I'll think of all the schools of fish that are just being fucking murdered right now. [01:08:01] Speaker A: Yeah. They're amongst the lightning claps. Then beleg. You're assured that your sphere of hadar has engaged with something larger than the sphere of hadar. And anybody whose eyes are trained on this thing will now note and beleg. Is there anything else in your move? [01:08:24] Speaker D: Nope. It's like after the Hadar is cast both hands back on the wheel trying to make a path or make a route to save the guys who are going down. [01:08:35] Speaker A: Okay, and what does a creature do once they are in Hadar? [01:08:41] Speaker D: They take acid damage and it's rough terrain, so it halves their movement speed. [01:08:47] Speaker A: Okay, so churning away here. Okay, can you roll? Well, this creature is up and so is it at the beginning of its turn and the end of its turn that it takes the acid and the cold both. [01:08:59] Speaker D: Let me just. Yeah, it's just 2D6 cold damage. If it starts its turn or enters it and then. [01:09:07] Speaker A: Yep. [01:09:08] Speaker D: Yeah. All right. [01:09:09] Speaker A: Okay. And no rolls, no con. [01:09:12] Speaker E: Yep. [01:09:13] Speaker D: No, it's. If it ends its turn, it has to do a dex save or else it takes. [01:09:20] Speaker A: Oh, I see. Oh, well, we'll see. [01:09:22] Speaker D: All right, so that's just six damage there for first. [01:09:25] Speaker A: Okay. And is this creature gonna pass through the Hadar? Was it gonna actually end its turn there? It is not. It is going to pass through the Hadar. It is about twice the size of Hadar. [01:09:40] Speaker D: 60Ft. [01:09:42] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. This thing is surging now. [01:09:44] Speaker D: Oh, and no. 80ft. Jesus, flock. [01:09:46] Speaker A: It is tossing your boat into the air. Bellag. And the o boat gene is airborne. [01:09:57] Speaker D: Engage the jets, Bellic. [01:10:02] Speaker B: We have an airship. [01:10:04] Speaker D: We have an airship. [01:10:06] Speaker B: We finally got our airship, Bellic. [01:10:13] Speaker D: All right, that's a fun note for you to end on. [01:10:17] Speaker F: Turn the tables on me, dm. [01:10:20] Speaker B: Yep, yep, yep. [01:10:22] Speaker F: Turn the tables in the wrong way. [01:10:26] Speaker E: Yep, yep. [01:10:30] Speaker A: And that is where we will have to leave you until the next time on Dungeons and Blackguards. Sam. I just love how Rook scared it away. [01:11:55] Speaker C: Yeah, scary crack. [01:11:57] Speaker D: Yeah. Just far enough away for it to build up speed and launch our boat up. [01:12:01] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:12:02] Speaker C: Hey. [01:12:03] Speaker F: Just to do. Just far enough to do a charge attack. [01:12:07] Speaker C: Yeah. Rookies. Brook scares many a creature in this planet. [01:12:13] Speaker B: Good guy. [01:12:14] Speaker D: I've never seen a boat make a dex check before. [01:12:19] Speaker F: Kaitoa can breathe underwater. I'm gonna dive in and just grapple the out of this thing. [01:12:27] Speaker D: Strength check. [01:12:29] Speaker A: Grapple it. Yeah. [01:12:30] Speaker E: Bear hug. [01:12:31] Speaker F: All the tentacles. [01:12:35] Speaker D: All right, guys. Peace out. Love you. [01:12:39] Speaker C: All good sesh, guys. [01:12:42] Speaker E: All right, well, I'll talk to you guys later. [01:12:44] Speaker A: Yeah, have a great week, guys. [01:12:47] Speaker B: Yeah, Sounds good. Have a good one.
