[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am the dungeon Master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Eric! [00:00:16] Speaker B: I'm Eric and I'm playing Dr. Zozo Brightfeather. She is a level nine Aarakocra artificer potionsmith. Brandon! [00:00:25] Speaker B: I'm Ekurook Punschley. Level nine blood hunter, half orc. Caleb! [00:00:32] Speaker B: I'm a level nine warforged barbarian: Kaitoa Tata. Braeden! [00:00:40] Speaker C: Hey, I'm Braeden. I'm playing half elf, Beleg Dygar, Level 9 hexblade warlock. Tomo! [00:00:50] Speaker B: Hey, I'm playing Steve Tehuman. I am a Gloomstalker Ranger level five, Battle Master Fighter, level three. And I have just a little schmeck of rogue. And I have an Owl. Vale! [00:01:06] Speaker B: I am playing Johawk the Gnoll, a champion fighter 4, Bear totem barbarian five. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blaggards. The party of six defeat the Grist, chief guardian of the Wizards Guild, the Brass Towers, AKA the Brass Council, AKA the Cliff city of Kozzem. Left to your own devices for just over an hour, the party engage in various activities. There is much investigating of Rube the Cube's waste disposal hatch portal vortex, the poop chute. And several theories are put forth as to what lies beyond the portal of turds. Attuning to the Sunstone Sword by Beleg. Grim Psychometry on the tower's function and purpose by the half-orc. [00:02:16] Speaker D: Ahoy. [00:02:17] Speaker A: Detect humanoids in the east tower by the Ranger boy. And then suddenly a voice shouting at the party and hands everyone's shoulders. The party is split, as four: Rook, Beleg, Zozo and Joe are transported away from this 45th floor of the eastern tower. Kaitoa, Steve and Stolas remain here and Rube the cube is one level down. [00:02:54] Speaker E: We've just watched our friends like, disappear. [00:02:56] Speaker C: Yeah. Did the hands grab us as well? Or they just grabbed us but couldn't take us? [00:03:02] Speaker A: You both look at each other. Kaitoa and Steve, those figures are gone. But they did not successfully transport with you. There were definitely six, or it could have even been as many as 12 hooded figures suddenly appeared around you and your comrades and put a hand on the shoulder of them and yes, they're gone. And in that moment, you just were not transported. For better or worse. [00:03:35] Speaker F: The transported party is me, Rook, supposedly Beleg, and Zozo. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Correct. [00:03:42] Speaker F: Awesome. [00:03:44] Speaker C: Steve. What the fuck was that? [00:03:46] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:03:47] Speaker E: Where is everybody? Are we on a level with windows? [00:03:52] Speaker C: You are. [00:03:53] Speaker E: Can I look out the window? [00:03:55] Speaker A: Yes. There are those six windows. And of course two of them face roughly to the opposite tower and the other four face down to the cliff city levels of Kozzem. [00:04:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna also go to the window. [00:04:10] Speaker E: I would like to do my sideways slinky look from episode one. [00:04:15] Speaker D: Okay. [00:04:15] Speaker B: Kaitoa painted them the green last time. [00:04:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:04:19] Speaker E: Oh fuck yeah. They're all painted up too, aren't they? [00:04:21] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:04:22] Speaker E: Is it. Is it one sided paint? [00:04:26] Speaker C: I guess you could scratch out two little eye holes. [00:04:31] Speaker E: I'm gonna do that with the dagger. [00:04:34] Speaker C: It's just paint. Right. [00:04:37] Speaker A: And as you take out your dagger from your sheath there, Steve, and you start scraping away at the window. [00:04:45] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:04:45] Speaker A: There's two nice little eye holes and there's some higher ones for Kaitoa. [00:04:52] Speaker C: I'm gonna use my eagle vision and try and like starting at the top of the tower, just scan down and look for like any kind of figure resembling. Because we saw they were hooded figures, right? [00:05:03] Speaker D: Mm. [00:05:04] Speaker A: Well, Kaitoa and Steve, can you both roll perception through your eyelets here in the semi translucent paint and these seemingly unbreakable oval windows of the brass towers perceptione. [00:05:23] Speaker E: That's a 21. [00:05:25] Speaker C: Kaitoa 18. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Well, both of you immediately see your four party members materialize on the platform of the noontime room in the opposite tower, down approximately 15 levels. [00:05:45] Speaker C: That's the room with all the stuff. [00:05:47] Speaker F: That's the place they told us not to go. [00:05:54] Speaker A: Party of four. Johawk, Rook and Beleg and Zozo, you materialize. This is instantaneous. You are now in the other brass tower. Surrounded there appear to be about 24 wizard pupils. The extremity of this of course round room. Two figures to your left of some authority. And then also standing out from the students. It appears to be four students of some authority themselves. The hands are removed from your shoulders and just as quick as you were transported away, your dimension door chauffeurs disappear in a flash. [00:06:50] Speaker F: What is the meaning of this? And I pull out my maul. [00:06:54] Speaker A: You are facing a strange array of characters. There is a small dog creature, looks like a corgi of some type in a sorcerer's robe. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Aww. [00:07:09] Speaker A: Beside them a human on the opposite bench looks like a young sorceress or wizard pupil of some type standing in front of all of the other pupils. And then a minotaur. And they seem to be in the process of concentrating and casting something around the party. Party. You can see you're in some kind of prismatic dome. And Johawk, your echoing voice bounces off just a little bit back towards you. But your voice does carry through. And the corgi now answers. We'll ask the questions here. [00:07:55] Speaker D: I want to yell out we've come to parley on behalf of the new leaders of Polb. [00:08:01] Speaker F: Talking corgi phases me as a player, but Johawk is a talking hyena, so I don't think it phases him. [00:08:08] Speaker E: Fucking robed talking corgi. So yeah, he's got a little tiny staff. [00:08:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I came all prepared to, you know, burn them all down, but there's a talking corgi here now. Kind of want to make friends. [00:08:23] Speaker F: I think we got the better end of the bargain. [00:08:28] Speaker A: And the two figures of some authority, it looks like off to your right here they are grim and stone faced. But yeah, your questions are mostly going unanswered, party. But you do seem to be cut off from this audience. Except with you is a goat. That same goat that you saw down from the other brass tower there is actually quite near to the party. Not under the this prismatic dome, but very near to the edge. [00:09:11] Speaker D: So my comment didn't. [00:09:14] Speaker C: Didn't get heard. [00:09:16] Speaker D: Even if I roll like a charisma to try. [00:09:17] Speaker A: Oh, I heard you. I heard you. You've come to parley. [00:09:21] Speaker D: Can I roll charisma to see if I can convince them? [00:09:24] Speaker A: Sure. Roll up charisma. And Johawk, would you like to roll charisma or intimidation? [00:09:31] Speaker F: Oh, I'd love to roll intimidation. [00:09:35] Speaker B: And Zozo wants to like inspect the dome. [00:09:37] Speaker D: That's it. That's a 21. [00:09:40] Speaker F: And Joe Hawk 11 intimidation. [00:09:43] Speaker D: I'm trying to charm him. And you're trying to intimidate him. [00:09:46] Speaker E: Good cop, bad cop. Exactly. [00:09:48] Speaker D: Yeah. I think you mean good cop, bon cop. [00:09:52] Speaker F: I think it's intimidating because I'm saying in gnollish, but they don't know what I'm saying, so it's not falling as heavily as I want it to. [00:10:01] Speaker A: And Zozo, you were rolling investigation on perhaps this wall. [00:10:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I rolled a non natural 20. [00:10:08] Speaker A: Well, from an arcane knowledge perspective and the fact that it's very recent in your bird brain, you feel this is a ninth level type of evocation. It's a prismatic wall. [00:10:20] Speaker B: Probably not something we can get through. [00:10:22] Speaker A: You hear a couple of voices now begin to respond to you. You hear someone exclaim he's hideous. And then you hear another voice say who the orc? And then there's a sort of clamoring where now a bunch of these students are trying to get a look at the party. And Rook, you said the new leaders of Polb to parley? [00:10:51] Speaker D: Yes. Okay. [00:10:53] Speaker F: And the King of Iz. [00:10:55] Speaker D: I don't know about him. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Gnoll Pack Lord, we see you. And it is the Corgi speaking as well. Lots of familiar faces we've been watching. Scrying and spying. [00:11:12] Speaker F: Did they see the part where Steve killed me? They hope not. [00:11:19] Speaker B: I'm pretty sure they saw the part where Rook pooped on the hatch. [00:11:24] Speaker D: I want to ask him. What have you brought us here for? [00:11:28] Speaker A: Holding you is the most important part. [00:11:32] Speaker D: Holding us? Why? [00:11:34] Speaker A: The Brass will want to be a part of this. [00:11:38] Speaker D: Well, why do they want us held? [00:11:41] Speaker A: Answers! Answers! And the little corgi kind of rubs his soft paws together. [00:11:51] Speaker E: Oh, so damn cute. [00:11:53] Speaker D: Kaitoa and Steve aren't with us, are they? [00:11:57] Speaker A: No, no. But Kaitoa and Steve, you are witnessing this. You see the exchange. You see a sort of slightly vision obscuring dome of tessellating and reflecting prismatic color around the party. There is a goat very close to the edge of this noontime room tower. And you definitely see into most of the goings on here. [00:12:26] Speaker F: How old are the students? [00:12:29] Speaker A: You could roll a general wisdom. Are you thinking about like recipes or. [00:12:36] Speaker F: I'm just. Because it's the littler people that make me hungry. [00:12:40] Speaker A: Well, okay, well, roll of wisdom. But you are noticing many races. [00:12:45] Speaker F: 18. [00:12:47] Speaker A: You now feel like you're seeing folks young from all types of provinces, realms, regions and kingdoms of Baheru. And in fact you even notice a gnoll. [00:13:01] Speaker F: There's a gnoll, very young. [00:13:05] Speaker A: But in the back is an awfully cute little gnoll apprentice. They now they do not seem to have a sorcerer's cloak or even a spellbook as a lot of these little wizards do. But they are young. Johawk. Looks like maybe like a cubling. [00:13:21] Speaker F: What have you done to my kin? [00:13:25] Speaker A: Oh, this little gnoll is kind of sniffing the air towards you and meets your gaze. But these wizard's pupils four, the Minotaur, it looks like a female in a mint green sorcerer's cloak, a male who looks awfully like Beleg. Actually, this male figure is in a sorcerer's cloak almost exactly like the one you see Beleg wear. And then the corgi. Then a man and a woman off to the side. Grim and almost, it seems, resolved to not interfere in this going on. [00:14:02] Speaker B: What is the floor beneath us? [00:14:04] Speaker A: Brass. [00:14:05] Speaker C: Brass. [00:14:06] Speaker D: Can I do my Grim psychometry on this wall around us? [00:14:11] Speaker A: Yeah, certainly. Put your hand to your temples. And that is a is that a ten minute ritual? [00:14:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:14:19] Speaker A: Okay, guys, you see the half orc begin to do an assessment. Inwardly looking, the half orc goes. [00:14:27] Speaker D: Yeah. I'm just trying to think. Did we do our short rest between my last one? [00:14:31] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. [00:14:33] Speaker D: Then I'm good. Yeah. I'll do a little cross legged floating yoga pose. [00:14:39] Speaker A: Oh wow. [00:14:40] Speaker B: Zozo kinda, kinda gets half behind Johawk. So she's a little out of view and mixes up an acid potion and just kind of dumps it out on the ground. [00:14:53] Speaker C: Whoops. Clumsy me. [00:14:57] Speaker E: Okay. [00:14:58] Speaker B: I'm hoping they don't notice. [00:14:59] Speaker A: Oh, definitely sleight of hand. [00:15:01] Speaker F: Sure. Yeah, yeah. [00:15:03] Speaker C: It was like. [00:15:03] Speaker B: That's non natural. 20. [00:15:06] Speaker A: Okay, well, acid damage is working. And although it is minimal at first, a hole begins to develop about the size of your forearm. [00:15:17] Speaker B: Okay, is it, Is it still burning away? [00:15:21] Speaker A: The sizzle now finishes and you feel like a little wisp of smoke may be the only thing that has betrayed your stealthy experiment. [00:15:32] Speaker F: Okay, we could just pass it off as Johawk farting. [00:15:38] Speaker A: Johawk, can you make a deception roll? And Johawk's tail begins to kind of like, you know, kind of waft a bit. [00:15:46] Speaker F: Deception is a plus zero. I'm very good at it. With a 12. [00:15:51] Speaker A: Okay. Zozo. You feel as if with Joe Hawk's wagging of his long gnoll tail, the prying eyes have not been alerted. But you do notice many of the eyes on you, Dr. Zozo and Rook as he goes into his position. Actually there is some murmuring and somebody exclaims to the party in general. That's a lovely hat! Mine? [00:16:17] Speaker E: Yeah. What's that? [00:16:20] Speaker B: It's a polar bear. [00:16:22] Speaker D: Perry, look at that! [00:16:24] Speaker A: And it's the young wizard female in the mint green cloak. They're shouting across to the male in the blue. They seem to be looking at the party and kind of regarding it. Guys, there's the Minotaur in a white wizard's robe. And they seem to be concentrating on something. They seem to be concentrating on a spell. You can actually see their cloven minotaur hands working some various hand movements. [00:16:58] Speaker B: The minotaur is probably the one keeping up the wall. [00:17:03] Speaker A: They're clearly focused on you. Kaitoa and Steve. What are you doing? As now you see the party make a little bit of motions. Kaitoa, with your eagle eye vision you could probably see Zozo doing her experiment. Orc does a little lotus pose and Beleg is a sack of potatoes. He is on the ground. [00:17:30] Speaker C: Steve, we gotta get over there. There's a talking corgi and I'm gonna lose my shit if I can't pet it. [00:17:39] Speaker E: Steve looks down at this group of the the - not our party, but the people surrounding our party. Are any of them familiar? [00:17:47] Speaker B: Yeah, can. [00:17:48] Speaker A: Steve, can you roll a history check? [00:17:51] Speaker F: You want to pet the Corgi, but you never thought to pet Johawk? [00:17:57] Speaker C: He doesn't look like the pettable type. [00:17:59] Speaker B: Yeah, you seen a hyena? [00:18:01] Speaker F: I guess that's for Gnollene to know. [00:18:05] Speaker E: That is not great. That is a seven. [00:18:09] Speaker A: It's tough to say, Steve, but you remember, obviously, more and more about Kozzem. You clearly have memories of that noontime room. [00:18:24] Speaker E: How far away is it? [00:18:27] Speaker C: So that's like 150ft or 15 stories. Yeah, 150ft up, but I can't remember [00:18:35] Speaker B: how far the towers are away. [00:18:37] Speaker E: It's pretty far one. [00:18:39] Speaker A: Yeah. They taper at the highest point to about 160, and where you are now, about 120. And then, of course, about 150ft down. [00:18:52] Speaker C: How far do you think we can jump, Steve? [00:18:55] Speaker E: Well, I mean, would it be. Would it be. I'm kind of thinking we take the jump and then, like, grapple hook. Well, like. Like right before we hit the ground, Steve does his rope trick and it, like, attaches itself to an ethereal. An ethereal portal, and then I just pop out of the rope tray. Break my fall. [00:19:21] Speaker C: Okay, you go first. [00:19:24] Speaker E: Other than that or I fucking pancake. [00:19:28] Speaker C: And we can't go up anymore because our head's cut off. I don't know if we can go, like, talk to Rube or I don't know if we can smash one of these windows and try and climb on the outside of the building and go up. [00:19:42] Speaker E: I can. I'm gonna message Rube using my cantrip and I want to say, Rube, can you do anything with you to pass my message along to those wizards down there in the noon time room? [00:20:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's communicating back via morose code that it cannot. [00:20:09] Speaker E: Yeah, I've. I've sent. I'll try it. I want to see if I can get Stolas. [00:20:16] Speaker E: I'll bampf him to the outside of the the tower. [00:20:20] Speaker A: You can confirm, Steve, this is well within your ability to send Stolas to. You have eyeline on roughly 50% of the noontime room of the Western Brass Tower. You can see your party. You can see people crowded there. Steve, what is your goal? [00:20:39] Speaker E: I want to send Stolas down and I don't know. I don't know if that'll work either. [00:20:45] Speaker D: Fuck. [00:20:46] Speaker E: Can't really communicate through him. [00:20:48] Speaker C: Damn it. [00:20:50] Speaker E: I can very quickly. Write a note, I guess. We can't go up, and that's a hell of a drop. [00:20:59] Speaker C: Unless we go out and scale the side, we can't go up. [00:21:04] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:21:05] Speaker E: In my experience with rope trick, would I be able to use it in the way that I described it? [00:21:11] Speaker A: I don't see why not. [00:21:13] Speaker C: So you're talking, you and me jump out, and then right before we hit the ground, you cast rope trick. We go into the treehouse, and then we crawl out of the treehouse safely down to the ground. [00:21:25] Speaker E: Well, the rope. The rope trick creates like a portal to a different dimension. That is a safe area. [00:21:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:37] Speaker E: And then we can choose to stay there for an hour, or we can hop out and drop the rest of the way. [00:21:46] Speaker A: You have done this before. You saved Beleg from a terrible fall in Polb when you guys were jumping off roofs. [00:21:54] Speaker E: It's an incredible entrance. I think if we do this, it'd be pretty badass. [00:21:59] Speaker C: But we just end up on the ground outside the tower, right? Yes. [00:22:03] Speaker E: We're not inside that prism thing that they're in is the noontime room. [00:22:09] Speaker B: Does it have an open balcony? [00:22:11] Speaker A: It does. I'll resend you guys the big picture of the brass towers, but yes. Zozo, open air. The only floor other than the highest floor of both towers that has any sort of, you know, big balcony. And this is indeed a huge semicircular balcony jutting out and abutting out from said level of the brass towers. [00:22:35] Speaker C: What about you hold on to me. I run and jump out of this window, and we'll see how far I can get or, like, see how close we can get to that balcony. And then if it fails, you could still rope trick us before we. [00:22:50] Speaker E: Like, 150ft is a hell of a drop. So I don't know, like, we will. I think the only thing that can save us is falling into this separate dimension that is. I mean, it is like spirit pillows on the other side. [00:23:04] Speaker C: I know, but if we can, like 150ft, if we could get above that balcony. [00:23:10] Speaker E: I want. Steve is, like, not necessarily a caster focused kind of guy. He's not super well versed in magic, But I would assume he understands keeping concentration on a spell. And there's obviously some sort of prismatic spell. Can Steve divine which caster needs to get a kick in the head to drop that spell? Yeah. [00:23:31] Speaker A: What do you feel that would be? [00:23:33] Speaker E: Yeah. I think if I'm gonna do anything, I've got the best chance with perception. [00:23:36] Speaker A: Okay, party. Can everybody roll perception real quick? You get that feeling your own missing two party members. Wherefore art they? [00:23:47] Speaker B: Rolled a 17. [00:23:50] Speaker F: I rolled a 17. Perception. [00:23:51] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:23:52] Speaker D: 15. [00:23:53] Speaker A: 15. Okay. Well, so Rook, you're probably at this point, you are done your grim psychometry. I mean, the party is kind of holding tight under this prismatic - feels like an upturned cereal bowl. And Joe, as you fart, and Zozo as you conceal your little acidic experiment there, both of you cast your glance back up to the western brass tower and do see your greened out level where you guys spent quite some time. So, you know, now fully aware Steve and Kaitoa ain't here and ain't appearing. [00:24:30] Speaker C: Robin, if I move to this window and scratch it out, can I get a view of the casters that we couldn't see before? [00:24:37] Speaker A: Your view now is as good as it gets. You definitely see the Minotaur. You definitely see these kind of firstmost wizard type pupils standing in front of what look like dozens of maybe younger pupils. You definitely see two figures of some authority. But boy, they are not interfering at all in what is going on here. And there's the party and there's the goat. [00:25:04] Speaker D: What did my grim psychometry, reveal or? [00:25:07] Speaker A: Okay, so the last time, Rook, that you executed this deep dive into the nefarious or otherwise unsavory elements of things, you were in the eastern tower. Now you are in the western tower. And this tower seems to be filled with different levels of monsters and creatures and challenges. And you sense that the purpose here is of maybe training, a brutal sort of training. [00:25:46] Speaker D: Would, does it. Did it reveal to me whom is the main person that's kind of holding us? Or in this kind of cell here? [00:25:57] Speaker A: Yes, the low rumbling voice of Sarn speaks to you. [00:26:04] Speaker E: It is the Wizard's Guild. Do not be swayed by their honey words. Evil. The Wizard's Guild domination over the world for the last 2,000 years. Hmm. And guys, you see Rook, you know, now come out of his floating lotus position. And there's a bit of a gasp from the onlookers. [00:26:31] Speaker B: Am I able to see anything down the hole that I made? [00:26:35] Speaker A: Yes, that hole, Zozo. And it begins to flood upwards with spiders. [00:26:45] Speaker C: Oh, God. [00:26:47] Speaker A: There are hundreds of spiders now crawling out beneath your taloned feet. Now the patch is growing, growing. [00:26:56] Speaker B: I start stomping. [00:26:59] Speaker A: Let's see. Roll to hit Zozo. And also roll Deception. [00:27:07] Speaker B: So it's a 17 to hit and five deception. [00:27:13] Speaker A: Well, you successfully squash the first wave of spiders here, and they're about the size of a gold coin, but there's a squirt outwards. And one of them makes a huge, terrible noise like you've, you know, stepped on a big grape or something. But you've. Maybe you've plugged the hole for now, actually. Zozo. And now your taloned heel kind of plugs the hole. But I'd say a couple spiders probably escaped. [00:27:42] Speaker F: I'm gonna say to the corgi. What are you after, pup? [00:27:49] Speaker A: Pack Lord. Oh, we know all about you. We need time. Time for the wizards to finish their tea and crumpets. [00:28:00] Speaker F: This box will give you enough time. [00:28:04] Speaker A: Box? What box? [00:28:06] Speaker F: I point to the semicircle prison that we're in. [00:28:11] Speaker A: Oh, the cage. Well, yeah. The most important thing is holding you. [00:28:16] Speaker D: Hey, Rob, With my perception, did it reveal to me who's kind of the main person chanting this spell for the box? [00:28:24] Speaker A: It is a large, tall minotaur, and they have a floofy, poofy mop of hair in between their horns. They wear a white wizard's cloak. [00:28:36] Speaker E: And. [00:28:36] Speaker A: Yep. I mean, they're clearly doing some sort of motions with their hands and. And they have not said a word, so. [00:28:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:47] Speaker D: Okay. Is there anything around the room like a cauldron or a vase or something like that that I could. Or I guess around them? [00:28:59] Speaker A: Three items in this room. Two benches, these sort of pews where about a dozen younger wizard students are behind these first, most wizards. So two benches. And then there's a hatch roughly equidistant between those. Otherwise, everybody is standing cool, polished brass floor, just like the levels that you are familiar with. The party, the goat. [00:29:29] Speaker D: And where's the hatch located between the two benches. [00:29:35] Speaker B: I cast grease on the floor under the minotaur. [00:29:40] Speaker A: Okay. Trying to cast through the prismatic wall. And then you feel 1d4 biting damage on your heel. Zozo. Oh, that's not bad. It's a two damage. [00:29:53] Speaker B: Oh, two damage. [00:29:54] Speaker E: Okay. [00:29:55] Speaker A: And Kaitoa and Steve, are you attempting this move? I understand it, but you need to pull the ripcord. [00:30:03] Speaker E: Steve needs to figure out, to the best of his ability, which who is holding concentration. I mean, he's done it with, like, his hunter's mark, so he understands that there's a level of concentration needed to keep a spell going. He's poring over the characters that we're seeing from our vantage point to see if there's something like some kind of. [00:30:25] Speaker A: You rolled. What's your role in that perception again? [00:30:28] Speaker E: 23 perception. [00:30:30] Speaker A: You identify the minotaur as the engaged in concentration caster clearly. [00:30:38] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:38] Speaker E: I let Kaitoa know But I have stopped talking. Or can I. Actually, I guess I can use message. I don't even need to talk. [00:30:47] Speaker C: Okay, Robin, I'm gonna try and smash this window. [00:30:51] Speaker A: I'm in front of one of the windows. Okay, Steve, who are you messaging? Kaitoa or your party? [00:30:58] Speaker E: Yeah, it's. The party's too far. But I want to do. I want to let Kaitoa know what the plan is without actually saying it, just in case they're still listening. [00:31:07] Speaker A: Oh, very clever. Okay, Kaitoa, you hear in your metal head the whispering voice of Steve. Steve, what are you saying? [00:31:16] Speaker E: Yeah, like, we get through the glass, we take the leap. We go as far as we can. I have the landing. Was he there for. Yeah, he was there for the. I guess he didn't really see it, but I saw. I'm going to pull the trick that I did with Beleg. And then we hop out and we hit that minotaur as hard as we can. [00:31:36] Speaker C: Okay. I don't know. I make like a little like nod, a pray, a little bullhorn and then my fist crashing into my. And I just like, nod and. Okay, I'm taking a swing at this glass. [00:31:52] Speaker A: Okay. You saw the half orc attempted. You now will roll. A simple strength check. [00:32:00] Speaker E: How fast can you run? Can you get like. Can you get a good speed? [00:32:05] Speaker C: Okay, but I don't want to like run, smash this and fall out. [00:32:10] Speaker E: Well, what if. What if, like. [00:32:12] Speaker C: Are you talking. [00:32:13] Speaker E: I hopped on your back and we. And we. We just do like a running torpedo through the window. Hope for the best. I've got spells I can. I can carry. [00:32:25] Speaker C: I'll do a running jumping swing because I like. [00:32:29] Speaker E: I think that Giants blade. Giants blade. Thunder smash. [00:32:34] Speaker A: And yeah. Kaitoa, if you accept Steve's advice and help, you will get advantage on this roll. And Steve is clambering up on you. [00:32:43] Speaker D: Okay. [00:32:44] Speaker C: You think I should, like, just run and jump and dive through the window? [00:32:47] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:32:47] Speaker E: Let's fucking action hero this. Okay. [00:32:49] Speaker C: Yeah, going for it. So I'm gonna run back to the other side of the room. I'm gonna. [00:32:56] Speaker E: You can use the axe as like a point. A point. Like that's. [00:32:59] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:32:59] Speaker C: I'm gonna hold it out like a point. So like the tip of the axe, just like. You know how like firemen, just like you can tap a piece of glass and it shatters? Yeah. [00:33:10] Speaker A: Steve, any final words of encouragement? [00:33:12] Speaker E: No, but I think like, I'm. I'm like, I'm holding on as tight as I can with like, I've crossed Over my arms and. But I've got my little shell, my little puka shell necklace. And I'm like rubbing the shell as I'm waiting for Kaitoa. Saddle up there, partner. [00:33:28] Speaker A: Some of your construct parts have made a little seat belt. [00:33:33] Speaker E: Oh, nice. [00:33:34] Speaker A: Okay, well, you are strapped in. Roll D20 plus your strength 16 plus 7. [00:33:45] Speaker C: So 23. [00:33:50] Speaker E: What was that? [00:33:53] Speaker A: Kaitoa, you bash off of this window and you're going to take, you have a seatbelt on, Steve, so maybe you're okay, but you see a hairline fracture appear in this. You know what it seems to be, translucent brass. [00:34:15] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:34:16] Speaker A: Fuck. [00:34:17] Speaker E: Johawk. [00:34:20] Speaker F: Oh, shit. [00:34:23] Speaker C: Oh. Vodog hit the window first, right? [00:34:27] Speaker A: You have compromised the structural integrity of this window. There is a hairline fracture in the Perspex window. And party down below you in this moment are assured there is something trying to rupture out of the floor where you guys used to be. [00:34:49] Speaker B: Did my spell have any effect when I tried to cast grease? [00:34:52] Speaker D: Right. [00:34:52] Speaker A: Okay, so your grease spell, can you describe what the effect is? [00:34:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:34:59] Speaker B: Slick grease covers the ground in a 10 foot square centered on a point within range and turns it into difficult terrain for the duration. When it appears, each creature standing in the area must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or fall prone. [00:35:11] Speaker A: All of a sudden, completely bypassing the prismatic wall's powerful applications, a puddle of grease forms under the minotaur. And they. They fail. And what happens to them? [00:35:28] Speaker B: They fall prone. [00:35:29] Speaker A: Okay, this is all happening in the same moment, guys. All happening at the same moment. They fall backwards. Their cloven feet begin to skitter a bit and they now fall back. And you can see them trying to hold on to whatever hand gestures they were casting, and you feel, Zozo, that your goal has totally been achieved. [00:35:53] Speaker B: Nice. [00:35:55] Speaker A: Kaitoa and Steve, quickly flashback to you. What are you doing? And Johawk, you exclaim something towards the young cub? [00:36:03] Speaker F: Yeah, because you. You said that there was something trying to crawl in, right? [00:36:08] Speaker A: There are spiders that you noticed underneath Zozo's taloned heel. [00:36:13] Speaker F: I'm gonna assume it was the pup. I said, what are you trying to kill us with pup? [00:36:20] Speaker A: Okay, this. This little Gnoll pup sitting on the back bleachers here they are looking at you intently Joe-Gnoll. [00:36:29] Speaker F: It's not one of my kids, is it? [00:36:33] Speaker A: Can you roll? For what would you like to roll? Do you recognize this Gnoll pup? [00:36:42] Speaker F: I'd hate to roll history because I have a negative in that and I'd like to remember my kids if I saw them. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Try perception. Oh, that's a 21 You recognize clearly. This is from one of the, you know, the major gnoll packs that suffered that exodus from the central plains of Monjob. And you are familiar Oldfoot taught you about it. And you even witnessed one of the brown cloaked emissaries visiting your gnoll pack and some sort of, you know, bequeathing of any child with magical prowess off to the wizard's guild. And so you become immediately aware of the fact you don't recognize the kid per se. This is a gnoll far removed from home. [00:37:31] Speaker F: I'm turning back to the to the corgi. What have you done with my kin? And I point to the gnoll.. [00:37:41] Speaker A: Again, the audience and the onlookers do not interact much, although you do see the female wizard there turn back and look at the gnoll within her ranks. It seems like the Minotaur and the female wizard seem to represent one of the benches of about a dozen wizard pupils. And then the Corgi and the male wizard that looks a lot like Beleg represent the other bench. [00:38:09] Speaker D: Rob, is this prism wall starting to weakening? Can we tell? [00:38:14] Speaker A: There is a disruption immediately, as in this millisecond the Minotaur falls. [00:38:21] Speaker E: Yes, you feel a bite on your ankle too, rook. You're gonna take 1D4 spider bite damage. That is a three. [00:38:30] Speaker D: Oh, son of a [00:38:31] Speaker E: Okay. [00:38:33] Speaker D: Hey, Rob, are the spiders, like, where are they? [00:38:37] Speaker A: One of them that bit you in the ankle just above the boot line. And there's about four scurrying around the party. And you look at Zozo and she's clearly plugging some sort of hole. [00:38:50] Speaker D: Okay, I am going to with my cantrip poison spray. I'm going to poison those little buggers. [00:38:59] Speaker A: You. You line up that poison spritz. [00:39:03] Speaker D: Yeah. They've got to make a con saving throw [00:39:05] Speaker A: in this moment then the Minotaur falls. The prismatic wall begins to fall down. The orc begins to spray down at his ankle. And Steven, Kaitoa, what'd you get? [00:39:20] Speaker C: All right, let's smash this window. [00:39:23] Speaker A: Roll D20 with Advantage plus your attack modifier. This window may have lost a couple of AC. [00:39:31] Speaker C: I got 22. [00:39:34] Speaker A: This window was ruptured from the first hit. And you explode into thin air. [00:39:45] Speaker E: Yeah. Let's do it. [00:39:47] Speaker C: Hold on, buddy. [00:39:48] Speaker E: Buckle up. I'm already. I'm strapped on. We are in free fall. [00:39:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:39:55] Speaker B: Get your construct parts to do like a wingsuit. [00:39:57] Speaker E: Yeah, we can see that. My poncho is like. Yeah, I've got this. Yeah. [00:40:02] Speaker A: Okay, guys. Oh, Stolas with you. [00:40:04] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, yeah. Stolas. Okay. [00:40:06] Speaker A: Okay. It is a rapid descent. And Steve and Kaitoa. Now what is your aim? As the floors just race past you, the balcony that abuts from the noontime room is quickly approaching. Where do you intend to cast rope trick? [00:40:27] Speaker E: Steve is timing it out so that within it is a 60 foot long rope. So I want to do it the same way I did it with Beleg, where I can drop it out beneath us and it's going to catch us, hopefully. [00:40:44] Speaker A: Okay, and where are you intending to deposit yourselves? [00:40:50] Speaker E: So once it catches us, we can then pop out of it again and hopefully drop the rest of the way onto this. This group of mages. [00:41:04] Speaker A: Well, you've assessed the floor plan and all I would say right now is roll for reflexes. Probably, Steve, because you're the one casting it atop riding Kaitoa, the airborne missile. [00:41:18] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:41:19] Speaker C: Steve, do you have inspiration? [00:41:21] Speaker E: I do have an inspiration, just in case. [00:41:23] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. [00:41:27] Speaker E: All right. Reflex. Is that like a dexterity? [00:41:31] Speaker A: Feels like a dex saving throw. [00:41:32] Speaker E: Dex saving throw. All right. All right, let's do this. That is a 16 plus 7. [00:41:41] Speaker A: Okay. Party. As you look up there, haloed and backlit by the lowering afternoon sun is a huge shadow. It passes right out of view. And then right in the very same room you are, a vortex opens. And Steve, can you describe exactly how you and Kaitoa are dropping into the scene? [00:42:11] Speaker E: Well, it's funny because like from the inside out you can see. From the outside in, you cannot. We just like boop and become a thing in the air. [00:42:23] Speaker C: And we're landing on the Minotaur. [00:42:26] Speaker E: If the Minotaur, if that prism thing hasn't broken, that Minotaur is basically our. [00:42:31] Speaker D: Our. [00:42:32] Speaker E: Yeah, our. Our pile of rags that we land [00:42:35] Speaker C: Kaitoa comes in yelling. [00:42:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah! [00:42:39] Speaker E: just fucking cannonball break. [00:42:42] Speaker F: I get ready to charge at the corgi. [00:42:43] Speaker A: and Steve and Kaitoa, now you drop onto the minotaur, who's prone. [00:42:52] Speaker E: Oh. So cannonball. [00:42:59] Speaker B: Any creature that enters the area also has to make a dexterity saving throw. [00:43:06] Speaker E: We hit. [00:43:10] Speaker C: A dex save. [00:43:12] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:43:13] Speaker E: Oh, man. [00:43:14] Speaker C: Okay, but I can see the oil, right? Yes. [00:43:19] Speaker A: Advantage danger sense. Rook your poison spray roll on ac on the spiders. As your party members rejoin the scene, [00:43:28] Speaker D: they've got to make a con saving throw. [00:43:30] Speaker A: Con save. Okay, against your spell, DC, which is 13. [00:43:35] Speaker B: FAIL. [00:43:36] Speaker C: FAIL for the dex? [00:43:38] Speaker D: No, for the spiders. [00:43:40] Speaker A: Yeah, the spiders are being sprayed. [00:43:43] Speaker C: Oh, the spider's gone. [00:43:45] Speaker A: Kaitoa, did you fail your Decks against Zozo's slippery slip? [00:43:49] Speaker C: I got a 14. [00:43:49] Speaker E: I'm not sure what I was rolling. [00:43:52] Speaker D: They're gonna take 16 damage. [00:43:56] Speaker A: Okay, rook, you obliterate the spider on your boots. But unfortunately. Unfortunately, you have singed your wonderful boots from Lantin with poison spray. [00:44:06] Speaker E: Alright. [00:44:07] Speaker D: I'm gonna kick the other spiders with that singed boot. [00:44:11] Speaker A: Rook is stomping out those last two spiders and Zozo, are you staying put on that hole of spiders? [00:44:18] Speaker B: Has the prismatic wall dropped? [00:44:20] Speaker A: It has. [00:44:21] Speaker B: Okay, she says, Joe smash. [00:44:25] Speaker F: I'm gonna smash the Corgi. [00:44:28] Speaker A: Yeah, in this. [00:44:29] Speaker F: And then she pulls her foot out of the hole. [00:44:33] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. In this exact moment, the wall comes down. Kaitoa and Steve reenter the scene and deal bludgeoning damage to the Minotaur. Zozo steps off the spider hole, yells to Joe smash. Rook stomps out the the final spiders. Joe, you're going for the Corgi. [00:44:56] Speaker B: Yep. [00:44:57] Speaker C: Kaitoa also enrages. [00:44:59] Speaker E: Okay. Please ride the Minotaur like a sled. [00:45:05] Speaker C: Well, I. I made it. [00:45:06] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:45:07] Speaker C: Did you fail the dex save? [00:45:08] Speaker E: I think I'm stuck to you. [00:45:09] Speaker A: So I was. [00:45:10] Speaker E: I think, like, it's pretty much, you're the one who's running this show right now. [00:45:15] Speaker C: Oh, then we made it. Yeah. [00:45:16] Speaker D: Can you ride them over the spider hole? [00:45:20] Speaker E: Just squish his face into the hole. Problem solved. [00:45:25] Speaker A: Okay. And then the goat bleats. And that, friends and adventurers, is where we will have the spiritual ending. [00:46:41] Speaker E: Hey, we didn't die, Kaitoa. [00:46:44] Speaker C: I know. Landing on this greasy Minotaur. That's so funny dude. [00:46:47] Speaker A: Are we ever rolling Initiative. [00:46:50] Speaker E: Wait, what's Beleg doing? So glad I'm sleeping so hard. [00:46:54] Speaker A: Unconscious. [00:46:58] Speaker C: He got ported with you guys. [00:47:00] Speaker B: He just came out the other side unconscious. [00:47:02] Speaker C: Or covered in oil and spiders. Why am I all slippery? Where did I get all these bites from? [00:47:12] Speaker E: Why are there spider bites all over my neck? [00:47:20] Speaker F: If we light this on fire, Johawk will shut up about eating people. Humans taste like pork. Beef tastes like beef. He wants to know what this Minotaur is made of. [00:47:33] Speaker D: I wanted to use my burning hands on it, but I don't. We haven't done a long rest in a while, so I don't have any spell slots. [00:47:42] Speaker C: I love the idea of a PSA announcement about buckling up and safety, as Steve's, like, riding Kaitoa, like, 150ft through the air. My name's Steve, and I always buckle up. [00:48:01] Speaker E: So the PSA starts with us going through that window, [00:48:06] Speaker A: then and then landing on a minotaur. [00:48:09] Speaker C: You're okay because you buckled up.
