Episode Transcript
[00:00:02] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am the dungeon Master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players.
Brandon!
[00:00:16] Speaker B: I am Ekurook Punschley, half orc blood hunter, Level 10, Dark Lord.
[00:00:24] Speaker A: Eric!
[00:00:25] Speaker C: I play Dr. Zozo Brightfeather, Level 10 Aarakocra artificer potionsmith.
[00:00:32] Speaker D: Caleb!
[00:00:34] Speaker E: I'm Kaitoa Tata. I'm a level 10 warforged barbarian.
[00:00:40] Speaker A: Tomo!
[00:00:41] Speaker G: Hey there. I'm playing Steve Tehuman. I am a human Gloomstalker Ranger, level six, Battle Master Fighter, level three. And a little bit of Rogue, level one.
Vale!
[00:00:56] Speaker H: I am playing Johawk. He is a gnoll champion fighter and totem warrior barbarian.
Braeden!
[00:01:05] Speaker I: Hey, I'm Braeden. I'm playing half elf Beleg Dygar, hexblade warlock.
[00:01:20] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blaggards.
Beleg makes use of a custom spell as a tentative truce with the wizard sudent body is formed. Rook continues to impress the pupils and by the end of the evening, not indulging in the finery of the Dansion, sets a watch on the hatch. Kaitoa provides answers to riddles and seeks to restring a certain bow.
Johawk, no longer shackled, first makes a long distance call and by the end of the evening is brandishing the head of the Grist and taunts a small army of gargoyle minions.
Steve reconnects with his past and helps a hungry gnoll and ultimately returns to the balcony.
Zozo learns the properties of the anklets, the chains, and allows Johawk and Steve to play hooky. And by the end of the evening retreats to the laboratory to work on a special invention.
And is also the only one to refuse the slow mo entrance.
[00:02:41] Speaker D: She was feeling salty about the riddle. She got wrong or didn't get the answer for.
[00:02:44] Speaker A: Beleg by the end of the evening has visited the spa and extracts what information he can from Perry.
Because when we left the party it was midnight. All of the student body was asleep. The last thing Beleg did was rouse Perry extract a couple pieces of information of what might happen tomorrow. Kaitoa, you are in the weapons crafting room of the extra dimensional Dansion. What bow is this that you're trying to restring?
[00:03:20] Speaker E: I'm trying to restring string Steve's bow.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: The eager short bow. A legendary elvish weapon. Yes. Okay, well, so the pup says, I have three components, wool of spider. And he shows you a little tuft of like black tarantula wool. Two, venom of spider. The good doctor reminded me to extract that, and shows you a little vial.
And then you were suggesting the thread of the spider, construct?
[00:03:55] Speaker E: No, I was hoping to take the web of the spider, potentially use it with maybe the venom or a wax that you have, and start weaving it tightly into a thick bowstring.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: This is ingenious.
So the thread of the spider, and he's like extracting now what he can from the specimen he obtained. You see that vat of wax you have now? Components that seem like they could be made for some sort of arcane bowstring.
Are you attempting this with this little gnoll pup as your like, assistant?
[00:04:34] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:04:36] Speaker A: Okay, you are engaged in something, but you do hear in the room next to you the voice of Dr. Zozo. And it sounds like the deep voice of that minotaur, Kaitoa. What would you like to roll in this moment as far as crafting?
[00:04:57] Speaker H: Yeah,
[00:04:59] Speaker E: I'm gonna go with it. Wouldn't be athletics.
I can't use insight perception.
Performance is a zero.
Oh, geez. I, I do a survival check.
Yeah. It's the only thing I have as far as like mending or like building something.
[00:05:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:05:24] Speaker E: As if I was repairing myself.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: I like it. Okay, roll survival.
[00:05:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:05:32] Speaker E: 18 plus one.
[00:05:34] Speaker A: 19.
Okay, well, so although you get past a little bit of weapons crafting anxiety, this little gnoll pup is very proficient little assistant. And do you even know this little gnoll pup's name?
[00:05:51] Speaker E: It doesn't really matter to me.
I have my construct tools because the tools like jewelers style tools that I use to repair myself.
And I'm just like, scalpel.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:06:08] Speaker E: And like, hammer.
[00:06:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:06:12] Speaker E: And just asking for parts.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: And you know what? It obviously doesn't matter to this little gnoll apprentice either because they're great assistant and there are no pleasantries exchanged whatsoever. And they're just helping you away. And then so Zozo, you now actually hear through the ephemeral walls of the Dansion, you hear some sort of crafting and experimentation going on. But what are you doing in the laboratory? As I'd say, only like five minutes have passed and you were momentarily interrupted by the low voice of the minotaur.
[00:06:52] Speaker D: I think when, when Raymer comes in, I, I invite him in and start asking him some questions, trying to get some information out of him about the, the, the material. I'm trying to, to make. See if he knows anything. Okay.
[00:07:05] Speaker A: Do you want to roll a skill?
[00:07:08] Speaker D: I think I'll roll persuasion pattern there.
[00:07:10] Speaker H: Okay.
[00:07:11] Speaker D: Oh, that's a natural 20.
[00:07:14] Speaker B: Well, you've attracted my curiosity.
What are you doing there?
[00:07:21] Speaker D: So, what do you know about this transparent brass?
[00:07:25] Speaker B: Whoa. Perspex brass.
Made by Jebda and Dan when they erected the towers.
One material makes it all.
It can be made see through with the right well, you know, alchemy, right?
[00:07:48] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Metallurgy.
[00:07:50] Speaker D: Yeah.
Do you know anything about the process of doing that?
[00:07:56] Speaker B: Oh. Shut away in the brass towers that secret is. If I become a High Magi - first apprentice in a hundred years.
[00:08:07] Speaker H: Whoa.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: Raymer.
Gonna be an apprentice! I'll learn some secrets.
[00:08:16] Speaker D: That's pretty impressive. Especially for, you know, a minotaur. I think you're the only Minotaur I've seen around here.
[00:08:23] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. Well, I'm getting on in age. Bit old to be a student, but it's time to move on up. Hoping this goes well today's... Oh, look at the time. Oh. Gotta get to bed.
[00:08:40] Speaker D: Alright.
Alright. Yeah. You have a good one, man.
[00:08:44] Speaker B: Is there anything else you'd like to know with that, Nat 20. Well I'll pretty much answer anything on the nose.
[00:08:54] Speaker F: So.
[00:08:55] Speaker D: Yeah, tomorrow the High Magi are gonna come talk to us. What should we expect?
[00:09:01] Speaker B: Uh, evaluation is the nice way to put it. Every 29 days they come down and the conditions must be fulfilled.
Wizards get challenges.
And if they succeed, levels. And if they fail, punishments.
[00:09:24] Speaker H: That sounds terrible.
[00:09:27] Speaker D: And what about us?
You know, we're not.
We're not trying to.
To become apprentices or anything here.
[00:09:34] Speaker B: Oh. Oh. The students always dread this. But they're pleased because there's some other outside party in the chains.
[00:09:48] Speaker D: What usually happens to outside parties in these situations?
[00:09:52] Speaker B: They receive one of the three punishments the students would.
Crushing of the hands, the rod. You've seen that. Or the rocks.
[00:10:05] Speaker D: So there's no opportunities for outside parties to get any rewards here.
[00:10:10] Speaker B: Seven years ago there was a breach. Security breach. And the wizards, you see, they're cloistered up in their tower.
Vulnerable, you see.
[00:10:23] Speaker A: And he talks low to you now, Dr. Zozo, and has kind of come over see what you're doing.
[00:10:29] Speaker B: We're responsible, the four praetors.
In the meantime, just gotta abide by the rules of the headmistress and the superintendent. But they enact a terrible judgment. Every 30 days.
All of their decisions are executed.
Mmm.
[00:10:53] Speaker D: Right.
Okay. So there's. There's no real good.
Good outcome for us tomorrow, huh?
[00:11:00] Speaker A: A challenge?
[00:11:01] Speaker B: A trial.
What are you making?
I am tired though. You gotta get a long rest before you see the Wizards Guild. That's a must, right? That's what the Dansion is for. Oh, levels.
[00:11:14] Speaker D: Yeah, no, I'm planning on getting some sleep today.
I just wanted to see if I could figure out this perspex.
It seems like a useful material that I might be able to put to use.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: Moo, what would you know?
[00:11:27] Speaker D: Well, I want to figure out how to make it where I can get a supply of it that I could use.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:11:35] Speaker A: Can you roll a skill of your choice?
[00:11:38] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna do investigation, see if I can just judging by the properties of the material with an 11
[00:11:47] Speaker A: I'd say you've garnered enough information that the DC was fairly achievable here. You do feel like this is the missing component to some invention that you have long theorized.
And are you sharing this with Raymer, the Minotaur wizard, as he now looks intently?
[00:12:09] Speaker D: Yeah, I think I pull a like some schematics out of my bag and lay them out on the table like Joan was like, what do you think about this?
[00:12:17] Speaker B: What is that, buddy?
[00:12:23] Speaker A: And he gives you a big thumbs up.
And rest of the party, we're now gonna cut away from Dr. Zozo's experimentation.
[00:12:35] Speaker A: To Rook, you in the front first hour here have achieved your short rest. But then just as clearly, all the student wizards have rested in the Dansion. You've kind of laid watch in front of the almost invisible entrance to this.
This mansion. And roll perception, please.
[00:12:58] Speaker C: Can I continue my rest for a long rest?
[00:13:01] Speaker A: It depends how this roll goes.
If it's low, the answer will be yes.
[00:13:08] Speaker C: 13.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: That is too high.
[00:13:13] Speaker C: Damn it.
[00:13:15] Speaker G: The only time I've ever heard that in my career.
[00:13:18] Speaker D: Dungeons and Dragons.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: Steve's silhouette, his form, his outline is clearly visible going down into the lower level beneath you.
And you also hear what sounds like the shattering of rocks. And you are roused now.
[00:13:44] Speaker C: Okay, I will note that I did roll, hit, die and got myself back up to my maxed hit point after my short rest. And I'm a little bit.
I guess if it wasn't Steve going down there, Rook would probably stay up. But since he knows that Steve's gone down there, he's feeling like he's gotta probably follow suit there. Cause Steve has helped him out so much and come up clutch for so many times, he just can't leave him hanging. But he knows it's probably not gonna end well.
[00:14:21] Speaker F: We'll get a really, really, really long rest.
[00:14:27] Speaker A: Feet under rookies, the five by five hatch. It's just a ten foot drop down, which you can obviously manage. But yes, Steve clearly dropped down. And as you peek on down?
How are you getting down? Do you just want to jump down?
[00:14:48] Speaker C: Well, can I see how far away Steve is from the hatch? Like, can I poke my head down? Just go. Can I be like, Steve, where are you going?
[00:14:56] Speaker A: You holler out to Steve, and as you peek down, he's, like, about 30ft away from you, just on the precipice of the balcony.
[00:15:04] Speaker B: And whoa.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: There is Johawk swinging in the moonlight, his maul, at what looks like gargoyles. Like a swarm of tiny gargoyles. Steve, you hear the voice of Rook.
[00:15:22] Speaker F: Looks like Johawk's in a whole shitload of trouble.
[00:15:27] Speaker C: I'm gonna say, should I go and get Kaitoa and Zozo? I don't know where the hell Beleg is, but I'm pretty sure.
I don't need help.
[00:15:38] Speaker A: Okay, Rook, can you roll? Initiative, you have now joined Initiative.
[00:15:44] Speaker C: Can I not poke my head back up and go get Kaitoa and Zozo?
[00:15:48] Speaker A: Yeah, you're in Initiative, though. Now you're in bullet time.
[00:15:51] Speaker E: Once the DM says it.
[00:15:53] Speaker A: You're bullet time now.
[00:15:55] Speaker C: Son of a beetch.
Oh, Initiative, that's gonna be 18.
[00:16:00] Speaker A: Okay, that's good. In fact, Rook, actually, that means you are free to do what you want right now. You have full movement. All you've done is note the battle.
[00:16:11] Speaker C: Can I. Like, how easy is it for me to go to up the stairs and to the left to where I know kaitoa went to a dash or two,
[00:16:26] Speaker A: and then you would be able to haul her down and up to the portions of the dance and like these weapons crafting rooms. Surely you could catch their attention from the foyer.
[00:16:37] Speaker C: Catch Kaitoa's attention from the foyer.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: Okay. I'm going to dash to kaitoa and where I know well, where I know where kaitoa and Zozo are to get them to come and join us fight these.
[00:16:55] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:16:56] Speaker A: Well, in fact, it's only 30ft to the door of the dancing, so you run in, and there you are, Rook, in the foyer.
[00:17:03] Speaker C: Can I just stand in the foyer and yell to kaitoa and Zozo?
[00:17:08] Speaker A: Sure. You could just try and show to both of them. Absolutely.
[00:17:11] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm gonna stand the foyer and just yell, Kaitoa, Zozo! Steve's gonna help Johawk fight some gargoyle minions. Come on, let's go!
[00:17:21] Speaker A: kaitoa, Zozo, you roll a quick perception and your voice booms out in the quiet Dansion, echoing down the corridors and hallways.
[00:17:34] Speaker E: I didn't want to hear it, but choose not to hear, I got a 14 plus 5.
[00:17:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:45] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: Kaitoa, you definitely hear your traveling companion's voice here. And you and the gnoll pup just finish your creation. And there is a really spry twang of the bowstring, but it is not at all like the properties of the eager shortbow. This has some completely different properties. I mean, you know, this. This is not the material that it was before. And you hear the voice.
Zozo, you hear nothing. You are preoccupied with your work.
[00:18:21] Speaker E: Can I roll to be a part of this now?
[00:18:24] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:18:26] Speaker E: Kaitoa is letting out his loudest steam whistle he can.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Okay, so roll initiative.
[00:18:34] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:18:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:18:37] Speaker E: 16.
[00:18:38] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:18:39] Speaker E: As soon as I hear Rook's voice, I'm going for the loudest toot possible to alarm everyone.
And then I guess, like, leap in this foyer.
[00:18:50] Speaker A: Nice. Leaping over the banister. Okay, so first. Yeah, exactly.
Can you give me two super quick checks, kaitoa? One performance.
[00:18:59] Speaker E: Performance would be 13.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Your toot is pretty magnificent. And it also ricochets all throughout the dungeon. And the other one is acrobatics.
[00:19:13] Speaker D: I love acrobatics.
[00:19:16] Speaker E: 16.
[00:19:17] Speaker A: 16.
You make the vault. And this is about 10ft down from the second level of the dancing's, you know, entrance ways and hallways. Right down. And you smash into the ephemeral floor.
[00:19:31] Speaker C: I'll follow suit with kaitoa. Leap over the banister. Down.
[00:19:36] Speaker A: Okay, both of you hulking masses cannot be missed by beleg.
Bella, you have just exited from around the dormitories in the feasting area where you're arousing Perry to, you know, interrogate him one last time.
And on your way to kaitoa.
[00:19:56] Speaker H: I wasn't interrogating.
[00:20:00] Speaker A: Drunk quizzing.
[00:20:02] Speaker H: Yeah, makes sense. That works.
[00:20:04] Speaker A: And there they go. These two beefcakes go right out the front door of the Dansion back to the brass tower level.
[00:20:15] Speaker E: Beef boys version two.
[00:20:21] Speaker H: Beleg rolls his eyes and follows them.
[00:20:24] Speaker A: Well, can you roll initiative? As long as you dash, you will make it to wherever they are going in one move.
[00:20:31] Speaker H: That's a.
That's a big old.
Not very high four plus two.
Oh, that shows you how much Beleg wants to be doing this instead of long resting.
[00:20:41] Speaker A: It does.
[00:20:45] Speaker E: Hey, come on. It was during arts and crafts time.
[00:20:49] Speaker H: I was ready to sleep.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: Okay, so let me just cross everybody off my list here.
Joe Hawk and Steve are in combat.
[00:21:02] Speaker G: I am going to make two attacks, one on each flank.
Well, someone's having a very bad day because I Crit on a 19.
[00:21:14] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:21:15] Speaker G: Starting off strong.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Just so you know, Joe Hawk, your min Damage destroys these guys. So as long as you hit, it's pretty much an auto kill.
[00:21:25] Speaker G: I want to see how much I do.
[00:21:27] Speaker D: Oh yeah, I re roll.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: Everybody does.
[00:21:31] Speaker G: This is too many dice. I can't math very well.
Four is too much.
[00:21:37] Speaker H: Too much. Taco Bell.
[00:21:39] Speaker G: 20 damage.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: Okay, we you get one of these small stone gargoyles and obliterate it.
Sweet.
[00:21:51] Speaker G: The second one.
[00:21:53] Speaker D: Oh,
[00:21:55] Speaker G: natural one.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: Oh, and a whiffle, I'm afraid.
[00:22:00] Speaker G: Action Search.
[00:22:01] Speaker E: You shot your wad.
[00:22:03] Speaker G: Best fighter ability. Oh, another 19 hits. So that is another four D6. And I bet the next attack is gonna be another natural one. Watch me jinx it. So only did 18 damage.
Second attack, that's a natural one with a zero next to it. Total of 18. 13 damage. Not that it even matters.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: Absolutely destroyed by your maul.
[00:22:32] Speaker G: I love using Action Surge. And since I reduced an enemy to zero hit points.
[00:22:39] Speaker D: Yeah, I get a great weapon.
[00:22:41] Speaker G: Master attack.
Natural 20.
I'm critting on all the things that don't matter.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: Don't waste these.
[00:22:49] Speaker F: Jesus.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: So hard.
A tiny stone gargoyle. And this one, you know what it looks like? It looks like a house cat with wings.
[00:23:02] Speaker G: You crit on 20 damage.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: Instantaneously turned into a cloud of dust midair as your maul connects with it.
[00:23:15] Speaker G: See, I don't need help.
[00:23:18] Speaker E: I beg.
[00:23:19] Speaker A: Wave is down.
Two, three. You have taken Johawk out here.
[00:23:24] Speaker H: Being the maul cop,
[00:23:31] Speaker G: I think I took out four.
[00:23:32] Speaker E: Johawk.
[00:23:36] Speaker A: Oh, that's true. So actually this wave is down to two. And now this wave of ten gargoyles, little tiny gargoyles is down to two.
Steve.
[00:23:48] Speaker H: You're up.
[00:23:50] Speaker F: All right, the little gargoyles haven't acted yet, have they?
[00:23:55] Speaker A: I mean, they've acted in this combat.
[00:23:57] Speaker F: Yeah, so I've gone. I've gone ahead of them.
[00:24:01] Speaker A: From your perspective and initiative, they have not gone yet.
[00:24:05] Speaker F: Okay, well, I'll unleash a bunch of daggers then on these little. These little flying bastards.
23 to hit.
That hits 12. 15 damage.
[00:24:20] Speaker A: Destroyed.
[00:24:24] Speaker F: Okay, next one is a 20 to hit.
And that is 14 damage.
[00:24:34] Speaker A: And it is just obliterated.
[00:24:36] Speaker F: All right, my third dagger is a natural crit.
20.
So it probably just vaporizes the last one.
[00:24:48] Speaker A: Well then, Steve, Eagle Eyes Steve, you've taken down the first gargoyle of wave number two.
[00:24:57] Speaker F: Uh oh.
Oh, there's more already.
[00:25:01] Speaker A: As Steve's third dagger flies out just beyond the precipice surface of the balcony that drops at 300 plus feet, there's a wave of 10 more gargoyles.
Beleg, you are up.
[00:25:20] Speaker H: So how big is this door that you guys like. The door to the patio on floor 30.
[00:25:26] Speaker A: The noontime room.
[00:25:27] Speaker H: Because that's where. That's where these guys are getting attacked, right?
[00:25:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:30] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:25:31] Speaker A: Well, you can estimate it to be about 20ft wide. This level opens like a huge. Almost like a landing bay.
[00:25:41] Speaker H: Okay, so we're not retreating and throwing a bonfire in the doorway, so all these things die immediately.
Okay, in that case, Beleg would love to just run out to the front of the pack and have his polearm ready to hit opportunity attacks at every single miniature gargoyle that flies our direction.
[00:26:05] Speaker A: Okay, well, you would just be in lockstep with kaitoa and Rook there, but you are not going to get into position before they do. And you go down the hatch. And now you're back on that level. You see Joe Hawk and Steve already engaged. And now you are going to witness.
Who is 18, rook?
[00:26:28] Speaker C: I am.
[00:26:29] Speaker A: Yeah, you certainly wish beleg you could get up front. Okay, but rook, you are up.
[00:26:35] Speaker C: How far away am I from the old balcony here?
[00:26:38] Speaker A: 30ft.
[00:26:40] Speaker C: Okay, I guess I'll continue my move there. And as I do so, I will bring out my voltaic machete and roll an attack.
[00:26:54] Speaker D: 16.
[00:26:56] Speaker A: No worries. Hitting these gargoyles. So you're going up to melee range?
[00:27:01] Speaker C: Yeah, total of 12 on the damage.
[00:27:06] Speaker A: Okay, well, then you would dash up 30ft and you slash one of these things right out of the sky as it comes at you.
And there are eight more.
Oh, nice.
[00:27:19] Speaker C: Thanks, Johawk.
I will attack on the next one.
[00:27:28] Speaker A: There is no shortage of targets as they all are closing within five feet.
[00:27:34] Speaker C: That's gonna be a 25 on the hit.
[00:27:40] Speaker A: Whoa, 25 destroyed.
Seven more, rook, as you strike this other gargoyle right out of the sky. All of the pebbles and bits of stone go right down between the brass towers, all the way down 300ft, and you see two or three more swarms coming up from cosmic. So you see about 30 more.
[00:28:14] Speaker C: Okay.
Yeah, I'm good.
[00:28:20] Speaker A: Well, kaitoa, into the fray.
[00:28:25] Speaker E: Steve's beside me, so if I can use my bonus action to just hand him the bow.
[00:28:32] Speaker D: The bow?
[00:28:32] Speaker C: This action?
[00:28:34] Speaker A: The bonus action. Oh, not even. No, that wouldn't even consume your bonus action. That is just free interaction.
[00:28:40] Speaker D: Okay, thank you.
[00:28:41] Speaker E: Well, I just walk up hand, see the bow, be like, good luck.
Don't. Don't hold me accountable for what happens.
And I'm going to.
[00:28:58] Speaker D: All right.
[00:28:58] Speaker E: I'm going to double fire this heavy crossbow at some flying motherfuckers.
[00:29:03] Speaker A: Okay, so without closing the distance, you take a Shot roll on attack.
[00:29:08] Speaker E: Yep.
Ah, double 17s plus 7. They hit first. Crossbow does 8 damage.
[00:29:18] Speaker A: Destroyed. Your gnollish crossbow bolt pinholes the head of what looks like an eagle shaped gargoyle.
[00:29:30] Speaker E: Second is five damage.
[00:29:33] Speaker A: Okay. And then the other one. It looks like a little flying bear. Like a bear with wings. And you'd absolutely destroy this little animalistic gargoyle minion.
[00:29:45] Speaker E: Oh, that's so cute. Kaitoa just gonna comment to Steve about I've now seen a bear with three eyes give a little.
[00:30:02] Speaker A: Johawk. You are up. And at the moment a second wave of gargoyles is upon you. And yet their numbers diminish. This wave only has what, three left?
[00:30:16] Speaker G: Perfect. If I hit all my attacks, they're done.
So that's a 14 to hit the first gargoyle.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:30:22] Speaker G: That hits 12 damage. Not that it matters.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: It is obliterated.
[00:30:30] Speaker G: Second attack is more than that versus AC.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: No problem connecting. They also seem to have zero tactics.
[00:30:39] Speaker F: And they're all kind of going straight for the gnoll as well, I would say.
[00:30:44] Speaker A: Now gnoll and half orc are in the gargoyle swarm.
[00:30:51] Speaker G: They want to see voracious: bonus action.
[00:30:53] Speaker H: Bite.
[00:30:55] Speaker G: Natural one.
[00:30:56] Speaker A: Oh no. Well, that is. You are not going to be able
[00:31:00] Speaker H: to bite one or the other.
[00:31:02] Speaker G: That was my. That was my tongue.
[00:31:05] Speaker A: Oh, Joe, as you lunge, bite inside of your mouth.
[00:31:11] Speaker G: You totally miss. Kind of squeaks from biting his tongue.
[00:31:15] Speaker A: Oh, and Steve, you are up. As you see this wave all but destroyed. And then.
[00:31:24] Speaker D: Did he take damage on that? No.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: Oh yeah, actually that's a great point. Can you roll a 1d4 bite damage.
[00:31:31] Speaker E: Sorry, Johawk.
[00:31:32] Speaker G: Bite damage is a d6.
[00:31:35] Speaker A: One great one damage. Ouch. You have totally taken a chunk out of your own tongue.
[00:31:41] Speaker E: I bit my tongue,
[00:31:45] Speaker D: guys.
[00:31:46] Speaker A: Oh boy.
Steve, you see about 30 shapes of these gargoyles. Now rise to the level of your observation here.
And so you have 30 targets. Steve, anyone got an AOE?
[00:32:07] Speaker H: No, I do.
[00:32:10] Speaker F: This like hail of thorns would be good for this shit right now, I think.
[00:32:15] Speaker H: Yeah, man.
[00:32:17] Speaker D: It just cuts to zozo in the laboratory. Sipping tea.
[00:32:24] Speaker F: Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna. Yeah. I'm going to see what this bow can do. Is my. Is my bow still very eager?
[00:32:31] Speaker A: It is the eager short bow, but the string has changed and you will have to fire it to find out what happens. You haven't had time to attune to it, but yeah, have a go.
[00:32:43] Speaker F: 20. 22 hits.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: Yeah, that hits.
[00:32:46] Speaker F: And it's gonna hit for 14.
[00:32:50] Speaker A: 14.
Can you roll another D6 poison damage.
[00:32:56] Speaker E: Kaitoa is just like biting his knuckle watching this happen.
[00:33:01] Speaker F: Like, oh, so that is five.
[00:33:04] Speaker A: Okay, so five poison damage. And you also get the sense that if you so desire, this bow may have another terrifying property. But certainly it always deals 1d6 poison damage on top of your normal damage.
[00:33:21] Speaker H: So desire.
So desire.
[00:33:26] Speaker F: Does this mean that I am going to have to spend some more time with it and tinker around with it?
[00:33:30] Speaker A: It's very possible, but you take a stone gargoyle out of the the sky, but poison splashes all around and this is some terrifying poison.
[00:33:42] Speaker E: So as we're fighting, I yell at Steve being like, so the gnoll pup,
[00:33:46] Speaker A: he had that web.
[00:33:47] Speaker E: He also had some.
Some spider poison. And I weaved it into that bowstring. And so good luck, you may poison yourself.
[00:34:01] Speaker F: Don't roll ones.
[00:34:02] Speaker E: Yeah, bowstring improperly. That thing will poison you. That thing is laced.
[00:34:11] Speaker F: Shit is laced. Steve will give the thumbs up to kaitoa and I'll fire my next arrow.
[00:34:16] Speaker A: Then all of a sudden, you loose another arrow and all of a sudden it is poisoned. Roll on ac.
[00:34:22] Speaker D: Wear gloves.
[00:34:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:34:23] Speaker F: And also never lick the bow string.
[00:34:26] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah.
[00:34:29] Speaker H: Always lick the bowstring
[00:34:31] Speaker F: Always lick the. Always lick the bow. Don't put salt in your eyes. Don't put salt. Put salt in your eyes.
That is 15 to hit.
[00:34:40] Speaker A: No problem.
Roll damage.
[00:34:43] Speaker F: That is 2 plus 3. 5 plus 10 for 15, plus 2 poison damage for 17 altogether.
[00:34:50] Speaker A: That is a another gargoyle minion out of the sky.
So, Beleg you're on deck after Steve, but now whatever gargoyles remain after Steve are attacking.
[00:35:02] Speaker F: Okay, so yeah, that's my two bow attacks that I get.
[00:35:06] Speaker A: Okay, so wave three is down to seven. So 27D20.
[00:35:13] Speaker H: They're within 10ft.
I'm hitting them.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Okay, 27D20. And then we just filter for your armor class.
Johawk, you've been hit.
[00:35:28] Speaker G: Is 18 right now.
[00:35:30] Speaker A: 5d6 damage. 18 damage to Johawk.
Rook, you've been hit.
[00:35:37] Speaker G: I can.
[00:35:38] Speaker C: What?
[00:35:39] Speaker E: Yeah, hold on.
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Damn it.
[00:35:41] Speaker A: seems 22 damage.
[00:35:44] Speaker C: Jeez, you beat a 16.
[00:35:48] Speaker A: I beat it seven times. Oh, damn it. You repeat my damage and your damage was 18. And that is round. That is all three waves.
[00:35:59] Speaker C: How much damage was I? 22.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: 22. And it is bludgeoning. You are being bludgeoned by all of these differing creatures. And you know, they really do. They look like like sort of door stop animals and statues come to life and they are absolutely pummeling you two in the front. Johawk, and can I just.
[00:36:25] Speaker C: Can I shoot Johawk a glance of like just hate and ouchness.
Just like. What the hell are you doing?
[00:36:36] Speaker E: Oh, you mean because you're being bludgeoned by footsteps stops to death?
[00:36:40] Speaker C: Yeah, I wouldn't be if Johawk wasn't over here. God damn it.
[00:36:44] Speaker E: Just flying footsteps are like pummeling you to death. Yeah.
[00:36:50] Speaker G: I did not provoke them.
[00:36:53] Speaker C: You're out here. Nobody else is out here.
[00:36:55] Speaker A: Johawk, roll deception as you try and hold.
Nobody believes that.
[00:37:02] Speaker C: Nobody believes that.
[00:37:05] Speaker E: My non player character
[00:37:06] Speaker F: They were like this when I got here.
[00:37:13] Speaker C: Yeah, not happening. I know you did.
[00:37:16] Speaker G: It's.
[00:37:16] Speaker F: He's.
[00:37:17] Speaker G: He's got a cocky smile on.
[00:37:19] Speaker D: That's what. That's what does it.
[00:37:21] Speaker E: As he says it with a head in his hand,
[00:37:26] Speaker C: Rook just shakes his head and just like Johawk. I've only known you a short period of time, but I know you did this. Come on.
[00:37:36] Speaker G: I might have shown them the head of their leader.
[00:37:38] Speaker E: Someone get this animal on a leash.
[00:37:42] Speaker G: But only because I thought they'd listen to me.
[00:37:47] Speaker A: And beleg. You are up. But then, Dr. Zoza, we are going to visit you after beleg. Beleg, you see now an uncountable amount of gargoyles swarming to the party.
kaitoa stands back firing large crossbow bolts. And Steve stands back a little bit. Oh, Rook, something else?
[00:38:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I just want to rebuke, actually. Yeah, I can do. Yeah, I can rebuke.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:38:17] Speaker C: Hell yeah.
[00:38:17] Speaker A: And you can catch one of these guys.
[00:38:20] Speaker B: Roll.
[00:38:21] Speaker A: They're gonna roll a saving throw.
[00:38:23] Speaker C: They are?
[00:38:23] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: Eight.
[00:38:26] Speaker C: They have failed.
So they're gonna get three. 10.
[00:38:30] Speaker D: 3D.
[00:38:31] Speaker A: 10.
[00:38:32] Speaker C: It's gonna be a 10 total.
[00:38:34] Speaker A: Oh, boy. Well, Rook, can you quickly describe how one of these gargoyle minions is immolated and the rock turns red.
With my turns to rock.
[00:38:47] Speaker C: After I scold.
After I scold Johawk with my. My eyes and words for him bringing this on to me, I quickly turn to one of the door stops that have bludgeoned me and just grab my hand and just crumple him into dust.
[00:39:06] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:39:07] Speaker A: And as the smoldering hot body of this one that you've picked out leaves your grasp, it also falls off the edge of the balcony or all the way down to the waterfalls of Kozzem below.
And.
Yeah, sorry. After Rook was Beleg,
[00:39:27] Speaker E: Kaitoa looks at Rook and says, whatever gets your rocks off.
And I give him the wink and the gun. Sorry, Beleg's not there right now.
[00:39:42] Speaker F: Just making up for.
[00:39:43] Speaker A: Okay, well, we're going to kick to Zozo. Zozo, there are a couple things happening. Yeah. In your mind right now. Obviously a eureka moment has happened. You're working on some sort of invention. But then also a nagging, you know, after this Raymer the Minotaur went to retire and you look at your little desk and your pillow under the laboratory table, there's something nagging at you. But you, you've definitely had a short rest.
[00:40:15] Speaker D: Okay, so the. You said I had a eureka moment or just had I been working.
[00:40:21] Speaker A: Oh yes.
This conversation and the knowledge now of the brass material has given you the eureka moment. You were searching for some sort of casing for ammunition for this weapon that you were making.
And now you know, it's probably 10 past midnight here and you're now putting the finishing touches on this casing and it is working.
[00:40:50] Speaker D: Okay.
And so I got the ammunition now, but I've been able to build the, put the weapon together.
[00:40:59] Speaker A: Yes. Now I would have you describe Dr. Zozo along your travels and say the last year or so, what have you been developing and what were the missing components that you've just found?
[00:41:17] Speaker D: So she's been working on an alchemically powered thunder cannon.
So she.
[00:41:25] Speaker E: Oh, Potato gun.
[00:41:27] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:41:28] Speaker D: So yeah, she, while, while she was staying in Polb, with the, with the alchemist guild, it was something she'd been kind of working on before she met up with, with the party.
But she hadn't been able to find the materials, the right materials to make it out of because every time she fired it, any, any glass part of it would just shatter. So that's why she, she wanted to use this, this perspex stuff because it's able to stand up to, to firing.
[00:41:54] Speaker E: Oh my God. This is the coolest thing.
[00:41:58] Speaker D: And yeah, and the ammunition, she also wanted to make bullets where the, the top, the tip of the bullet was, was like a glass vial that she could put put potions into.
[00:42:11] Speaker E: Kaitoa looks over with insane jealousy.
[00:42:15] Speaker F: Oh, you need to be able to figure out how to put those on the bolts.
[00:42:20] Speaker D: Yeah. So it's basically just a big huge like rifle. Like an elephant gun. Kind of.
[00:42:26] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:42:26] Speaker A: Oh boy.
[00:42:28] Speaker D: Fires big, big fat bullets.
[00:42:31] Speaker A: As you put the finishing touches on this, you realize of course. Well actually roll a quick wisdom please Dr. Zozo. Something is missing from this invention.
[00:42:44] Speaker D: That's 15 plus 2 is 17.
[00:42:46] Speaker A: I didn't think there's the ingredient.
Well, there is obviously something missing from this invention.
A test run.
And as you look along, you know the four walls of this arcane ephemeral laboratory here. You know, this thing cannot be fired indoors. And so you do sort of feel, you know, a bit unfulfilled.
What are you up to?
[00:43:11] Speaker D: I think I'll head down to the. To the balcony,
[00:43:16] Speaker A: so. Well, here you go then, through the hallways of the Dansion and Dr. Zozo. And you're strolling through and you're shouldering this rather massive cannon.
[00:43:28] Speaker E: Can Kaitoa construct parts form like a little cradle that Zozo can rest it on and start aiming from? And I will be like a like, construct tripod.
[00:43:41] Speaker E: Steady. Aim.
[00:43:43] Speaker A: Yeah, hilarious.
[00:43:44] Speaker E: Like a help Action.
[00:43:46] Speaker D: As I'm walking through, I'm kind of noticing that. I wonder where everybody went.
[00:43:50] Speaker A: I was gonna say you. You don't notice any students up, but none of the party are around. And the Dansion.
[00:43:56] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:43:57] Speaker A: The door to the Dansion has been left ajar.
[00:44:02] Speaker D: I head out.
[00:44:03] Speaker A: Okay. Can you roll initiative immediately? You notice the Rook's bedroll is vacant where he was posted up camped out by the hatch is now abandoned.
[00:44:14] Speaker D: I rolled a seven for Initiative.
[00:44:16] Speaker A: Okay, you're just about, I guess.
[00:44:17] Speaker D: Makes sense. Yeah. I do show up quite late.
[00:44:21] Speaker A: Okay. Oh, but you're below the Gargs. Below the Gargs.
[00:44:25] Speaker F: I feel. I feel with this blunderbuss of yours, you need like a rad pith helmet now.
[00:44:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
Zozo in the pith helmet.
[00:44:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:44:37] Speaker F: Oh, and yeah, yeah, you gotta make like the little.
Little berth on top of kaitoa.
[00:44:44] Speaker A: Okay, well, Zozo drops down from the hatch brandishing a surprising new piece of apparatus that none of the party have seen. And so, in fact, Dr. Zozo, it is you who have no less than 27 gargoyle minions swirling around in your view.
[00:45:11] Speaker D: Okay.
Oh, she's. She's momentarily surprised, but like, all right, this seems like the perfect target practice.
[00:45:22] Speaker E: Who would have thought Zozo packs a bigger cannon than all of us.
[00:45:33] Speaker D: So, yeah, she. She pulls out a. A slug and she's gonna fill it with an alchemical acid and then fire that.
[00:45:42] Speaker E: I imagine this bullet blows up on impact and rains acid down fucking everywhere, actually.
[00:45:51] Speaker C: I wonder.
[00:45:52] Speaker D: Yeah, so she loads that in. It's like a bolt action kind of ker-chunk.
And that was a seven to hit.
[00:46:01] Speaker A: That actually still hits.
[00:46:06] Speaker D: It wasn't the one she was aiming for, though.
Probably blows her off her feet.
[00:46:14] Speaker A: Johawk you are narrowly missed.
You got awfully close to one of your party members there, Dr. Zozo. But the gargoyle is hit.
[00:46:25] Speaker D: And it fires with a loud bang.
[00:46:31] Speaker A: Yes. Now, guys, there is a bang that deafens everyone inside the brass towers. And in fact, this sound can be heard for 1500ft.
[00:46:46] Speaker E: It's like a big 50 millimeter cannon.
[00:46:51] Speaker D: So the rifle itself does D12 piercing damage.
And then basically when I fill it, it's using my weapon coating, which I can. I can do to any ammunition. But I like the idea of filling the bullet. Yeah, yeah.
So then they will take an additional.
[00:47:10] Speaker A: So I did 26 damage to one of these minions.
[00:47:16] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:47:16] Speaker A: But now, can you describe how one of these things is taken out of the air by Zozo, now armed with some sort of artificer cannon?
[00:47:27] Speaker D: Yeah, I think. I think when it goes off, she just like flies off her feet. She wasn't quite ready for it to be that powerful.
And one of the gargoyles just explodes.
[00:47:41] Speaker A: Clearly powerful. Clearly loud. Anything else in your move, Zozo?
[00:47:46] Speaker D: I'll get back up and.
[00:47:49] Speaker A: Okay, beleg, we're now going to take your rolls.
[00:47:56] Speaker H: Well, I want to cast armor of Agathys so that by doing that I'll forego my attack and then just like stand there waiting for attacks of opportunity.
[00:48:06] Speaker A: Okay, so you can post up between essentially, Rook and Johawk. Okay, front lines or back lines? You dashing up to the edge of the balcony or are you staying near the hatch in the backlines or where are you?
[00:48:19] Speaker H: Oh, very frontline.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: Frontline. Got it. Okay, Rook, you're up. You are joined by the half elf Warlock.
[00:48:27] Speaker E: the frontest of frontlines.
[00:48:31] Speaker C: As he joins us. I'm gonna quib. You can thank Johawk for this shit.
But before I roll, I'm gonna pull up my morning fire or Morning Star.
[00:48:42] Speaker E: Rook, do you mean the smell or the situation?
[00:48:44] Speaker C: Both.
On the.
On the Voltaic Machete. I'd say for 26.
Total damage of 12.
[00:48:55] Speaker A: Yeah, destroyed.
[00:48:58] Speaker C: And then on the morning fire.
That's actually a Nat20.
And then on Critical Hits, it deals another additional 1D8 fire damage and has advantage.
[00:49:13] Speaker A: Okay, essentially, guys, as long as you're hitting over 6ac and 1 damage, these things are destroyed.
[00:49:24] Speaker G: I hit those on a natural one.
[00:49:28] Speaker A: I think we all do. If you connect, they die.
[00:49:33] Speaker D: You can't miss the total damage on
[00:49:37] Speaker C: the next one's gonna be.
It's gonna be 20.
[00:49:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Destroyed. And you are now up there flinging what, two types of weapons around? And you have cleared off almost half of wave three. Actually, by my reckoning, there's only one left of wave three. Anything else in your move, Rook?
[00:49:58] Speaker C: Oh, well, that was just my first. I can do a bonus action attack again.
So I will attack again with my strong hand, which would be my voltaic machete. And that is going to be a nine.
[00:50:13] Speaker A: Nine hits.
[00:50:15] Speaker C: Final damage is gonna be eight plus two bludgeoning because my charged lightning damage. So ten total.
[00:50:24] Speaker A: Absolutely destroyed. I mean all of the party's hits are far in excess of what you feel these things could destroy. And I mean, Rook, this last hit of yours, the thing explodes in a shatter of lightning.
Perfect.
[00:50:38] Speaker C: And I will be at the ready again.
[00:50:43] Speaker A: There's only one gargoyle left on that sort of wave.
There's of course two waves right beside it. But actually in this moment, Rook, you could move and you would only incur one opportunity attack. Are you staying up in the front lines? You, Joe and beleg. I will actually
[00:51:01] Speaker C: move, so that way I don't incur more than just one opportunity attack.
[00:51:05] Speaker D: So.
[00:51:06] Speaker A: And you know beleg's tactics. So you could theoretically move into his or slightly behind his ten foot zone of death.
[00:51:15] Speaker C: I will.
[00:51:15] Speaker H: Children, nestle in.
[00:51:18] Speaker E: I. I love the encouraging DM comment there.
[00:51:23] Speaker C: I will do that Robin.
[00:51:24] Speaker D: kaitoa, you're up.
[00:51:27] Speaker E: I'm going to do the same old double crossbow action.
But there is only one up here now, right?
[00:51:35] Speaker A: Or is there's one at melee range, but there are 20 that you can totally take a ranged shot at.
[00:51:47] Speaker E: Oh God, yes. Okay, so 17 plus seven for the first one
[00:51:53] Speaker A: destroyed.
[00:51:56] Speaker E: 18 plus seven or sorry, eight plus seven for the second one.
[00:52:01] Speaker A: Your min damage.
You can roll it for shits and giggles to know how much you turn them into pebbles. But you know, a connect is a destroy.
[00:52:11] Speaker E: Yeah, I got a 9 plus 2 and a 10 plus 2. So they both hit. They both crush them.
The big thing is I'm going to use my movement to get in front of Zozo and take a knee and sling this weapon on top of my shoulder so that Zozo doesn't get kicked off her ass every time she fires it.
But I can still fire my crossbow from the knee.
[00:52:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:52:37] Speaker E: So I'm using my movement to get under and like load this thing on my shoulder.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: The range squad is kind of developing a strategy back there. kaitoa, you then look up to the the front lines. So Johawk right now in your grill is actually only 19.
[00:52:58] Speaker G: Only 19?
[00:53:00] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:53:01] Speaker G: As my speaking action, I'm going to
[00:53:03] Speaker A: say objectively this is my fault.
[00:53:06] Speaker G: But could you imagine how cool it
[00:53:08] Speaker D: would be if they listened to my authority, not reality?
[00:53:13] Speaker H: When was the last time someone listened to your authority?
[00:53:18] Speaker E: I'm imagining how cool it'd be if you listen to us for once.
[00:53:25] Speaker G: Did you say not to? As I swing.
That's a hit.
Second attack is a hit.
Third attack is a hit.
So I take out three of them. The third attack is a bite.
[00:53:41] Speaker A: Oh, nice. So with your final move, you rip one of these things out of the air as it was swarming around you. And the half elf now stands just to your. It's kind of your rear left flank. So after you've taken these down, there's still about 15 or 16 of these things right up in your grill. And terrifyingly, Johawk. As you look down, there are four more waves coming.
[00:54:08] Speaker E: I yell at Johawk, I couldn't understand you because your swollen tongue.
[00:54:18] Speaker A: Johwwk. You will now roll on disadvantage. Anything that has to do with communication.
[00:54:23] Speaker G: Oh, do you want me to talk me to re roll that bite attack talking?
[00:54:30] Speaker A: No, it has not affected your. Your bite attack.
That. That actually maybe would be improved, but yes. Or Johawk. Anything with your movement. Anything else in your move after your three kills?
[00:54:45] Speaker G: I don't think I'm going to move.
I'm taking this like a gnoll.
[00:54:53] Speaker A: Okay, so you are. You're equal opportunity target. Now with beleg and Steve, you are up. You see the gnoll not give an inch and there's about 15 gargoyles here swarming around him. And yeah, Johawk, you know, there's about four score more coming on up.
[00:55:15] Speaker G: I like those words. Fourscore.
[00:55:16] Speaker H: More
[00:55:19] Speaker G: I'm trying to suggest to the party.
Should we maybe go in the mansion?
[00:55:26] Speaker F: Just bring them in. Look what we found.
They're following us. Can we keep them?
[00:55:35] Speaker E: I believe the whole student union is watching us do this.
[00:55:42] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:55:42] Speaker A: Oh, because the Zozo's gunshot. Yeah. Classic blaggards. If you can't kill them, kite him. And if you can't kite him, keep them.
[00:55:50] Speaker F: Light the city on fire.
[00:55:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:55:52] Speaker D: And then take off. Coming in a boat.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: You're up, Steve.
[00:55:58] Speaker F: All right, so Steve is kind of figuring out this bow.
And you said that he's kind of figured out that it's from the bowstring, not the.
[00:56:10] Speaker D: I yelled it.
Yeah.
[00:56:14] Speaker F: Is there any way to like to pack a bunch of juice onto.
Onto a single shot?
[00:56:21] Speaker A: As you look down at the bowstring, you sort of realize that there's another property here. But if you were to attempt it, it would be unpredictable right now I like unpredictable.
Then you can go ahead and roll and you're gonna sort of twang this bow. You have an odd feeling about the way the string is composed
[00:56:48] Speaker E: Tomo the way I figured it is, it's kind of like someone like running their bow against a violin. And you're now running your bow against it like four times, hoping that string doesn't snap.
[00:57:05] Speaker F: All right, let's do this.
[00:57:07] Speaker E: Kaitoa is again watching, biting his knuckle.
[00:57:12] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:57:14] Speaker F: Oh, that's a crit. 20.
Oh, wow.
[00:57:20] Speaker A: Steve, as you know, this weapon is comprised of spider components. And as this arrow is released from the eager shortbow, which should be renamed at the moment to something in its current format, you are also sort of casting the net or ensnare spell. And you are going to find a web area of effect taking down more than one gargoyle.
[00:57:51] Speaker E: You mean the Kaitoa-web short bow.
[00:57:54] Speaker A: So they're gonna roll a dexterity saving throw.
And they have to be. They don't even need to calculate that up. They rolled a five.
And then this is a net that extends in a 15 foot cone.
How many minions do you think should be fair there? I think a lot of minions fit in 15ft. Let's roll 1D10 especially.
[00:58:16] Speaker E: Especially if it falls downward and they're all flying upward.
[00:58:18] Speaker A: You catch five, you ensnare five of these gargoyles with a poison net that sort of expands out from where the arrow hits and they are ensnared and they fall all the way down the precipice. They're out of your view.
[00:58:35] Speaker H: That's.
[00:58:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:58:37] Speaker F: Big smile on his face. Steve points at the bow, points at to Kaitoa. Then like gives the. Okay.
[00:58:46] Speaker E: Kaitoa just shakes his head in relief of like.
Like, oh my God.
[00:58:52] Speaker F: Now with that roll, would I be able to recreate that or do I understand how that works?
[00:58:58] Speaker A: You can try attacking again. Let's see what happens. But yeah, sure. Try shooting again.
[00:59:03] Speaker F: Well, I like. I like the effect it has on these large groups of stuff. So I'm going to. I'm going to attempt that one one more time.
[00:59:10] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:59:11] Speaker F: Next roll out 16.
[00:59:16] Speaker A: Okay. It definitely hits, but there is no poison net. And you get that feeling that this is one of those once per day effects.
[00:59:25] Speaker F: Solo Uno.
[00:59:27] Speaker A: You're hitting the gargoyle just with a normal poison arrow.
[00:59:31] Speaker F: Sweet.
[00:59:32] Speaker A: So five down, one more down wave four. Almost decimated. Anything else in your move, third shot?
[00:59:38] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:59:38] Speaker F: No, I only get two with the bow.
[00:59:40] Speaker A: Only two with the bow. Okay. Yes. You've taken huge numbers out. And then you're up. Oh boy. You're up, gargoyles.
Okay, so, friends and adventurers, we are 11:20. We are nearing the end of the night here, so I'm gonna plug in. So the current waves that are around melee range have been almost reduced to nothing.
[01:00:01] Speaker H: Oh, I didn't get to do an opportunity attack on any of them.
[01:00:04] Speaker A: Well, Johawk is standing on the first line with you, so he's gonna take one damage. That's pretty. You get nibbled.
[01:00:15] Speaker G: I still got 66 of those in me.
[01:00:18] Speaker A: Beleg, there are a huge swarm attacking you. In fact, there are 14.
Sorry, 14 minus one. So 13 little gargoyles that are coming to attack you. Now, two of them think they're going to hit you, but your opportunity attack takes place before their attack.
[01:00:39] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:00:40] Speaker A: Okay, well then make 13 opportunity attacks.
[01:00:44] Speaker H: Who do I have to beat?
[01:00:46] Speaker A: Their AC is six.
[01:00:48] Speaker H: Okay, four beaten.
Four more are beaten.
Yeah, all of them get hit.
[01:00:55] Speaker A: All of them are destroyed then because your. Your minimum damage from your glaive is in excess of their hp, these gargoyle minions. beleg can you describe what happens, you know, after Johawk gets dealt one damage? You absolutely obliterate the swarm. Well, the current waves, it's.
[01:01:16] Speaker H: It's full on Neo from the Matrix style.
Just time stops and I knock all of them out of the air.
[01:01:25] Speaker A: It's raining gravel.
[01:01:28] Speaker H: Hallelujah.
Beleg also looks at Johawk and goes, I hate these guys for coming out to try and save you. Just as much as I hate you for provoking this. I want to be asleep right now.
[01:01:39] Speaker A: I. I said I didn't need help.
[01:01:43] Speaker D: Fair.
[01:01:46] Speaker F: All right, everyone, put away your weapons.
[01:01:51] Speaker G: I think we should all go into that mansion and shut the door.
[01:01:56] Speaker A: Yeah. Johawk, almost with premonition as Beleg's, you know, flurry takes down these gargoyles.
[01:02:05] Speaker H: My reach is 10ft. I should technically be able to cover 20ft across.
[01:02:11] Speaker A: You have another 20 opportunity attacks. Beleg can you make another 20 opportunity attacks?
[01:02:18] Speaker H: Yep, but then backline.
[01:02:22] Speaker G: Can we just pretend they're each number one through 20?
[01:02:26] Speaker H: Okay, so I've missed one. It's one crit fail.
[01:02:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:31] Speaker H: Okay, so 11 for 12, 15 for 16, and 19 for 20.
[01:02:40] Speaker A: So 19 out of 20.
[01:02:42] Speaker H: Yeah,
[01:02:45] Speaker A: 20 or 19 out of 20 of them are destroyed by beleg. beleg one of them is gonna get through and. Oh, crit fail. So they, like, slump at your feet. They didn't even get a piece of you. But 10 come around one side and 10 come around the other side and back lines. Johawk, you've been spared other than that little nibble, but let's just see here.
[01:03:07] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:03:08] Speaker A: Oh, that's not kaitoa, so can you
[01:03:10] Speaker H: throw this head in your treehouse or something so it's not drying. All these gargoyles anymore.
[01:03:15] Speaker A: kaitoa.
[01:03:16] Speaker E: Yep.
[01:03:17] Speaker A: You take. Are you raging? You take 3D. Six damage. That's really high. Six, four, and three. So you take 13 bludgeoning damage.
[01:03:28] Speaker E: Did you half it already, or.
[01:03:30] Speaker A: That would be hot. Yeah. So half would be Shreven.
[01:03:35] Speaker E: Shrevin.
[01:03:36] Speaker A: Seven. Six or seven. I'm okay. I'm okay.
[01:03:39] Speaker E: Taking Shreven.
[01:03:40] Speaker A: Okay.
And then, Dr. Zozo, you took one.
Well, you took four damage.
And Steve, miraculously, you were okay back there.
[01:03:51] Speaker F: No leeches for Steve.
[01:03:55] Speaker A: So now, of course, there is about a half dozen of these gargoyles flying around the back ranks as well. Front ranks. You've sort of been spared by beleg's polearmsmanship.
Now you are up, Dr. Zozo.
[01:04:12] Speaker D: Okay, and there's some flying around us now.
[01:04:15] Speaker A: Yeah, Dr. Love, there's some right up around you guys. Very distracting. But then there are still looks like about a dozen or so. There's certainly lots of them within 10ft. And then there's some of them out 30ft near what we used to call the front lines. But now it's a bit of a. A bit chaotic.
[01:04:35] Speaker D: Okay.
Yeah, I think she's gonna have to deal with some of these close ones up before she tries to take another shot.
I think she might just try using her talons.
[01:04:46] Speaker A: Oh, the old talon strike.
[01:04:48] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, she's gonna.
[01:04:49] Speaker E: Oh, Zozo with the melee strike.
[01:04:52] Speaker D: Yeah, she's gonna fly up and just try to snatch her out of the air with her talons.
[01:04:56] Speaker A: Oh, beauty.
[01:04:57] Speaker E: Okay, roll on, A.C. that bird is so dangerous.
[01:05:02] Speaker D: That's an 11 to hit.
[01:05:05] Speaker E: Sorry. Braeden's been in and out, so I gotta queue in on the music.
[01:05:08] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. You gotta drop the unofficial soundtrack.
[01:05:13] Speaker E: That bird is a bad girl.
[01:05:17] Speaker D: That's four damage
[01:05:20] Speaker A: destroyed.
And you rip the stone head right off of what looked like a falcon type gargoyle.
[01:05:30] Speaker D: Okay,
[01:05:32] Speaker A: Anything else In your move, Dr. Zozo?
[01:05:36] Speaker D: I think she's gonna land and start just preparing the gun for the next shot.
I'm gonna load it up and start just kind of adjusting the sights and getting it ready.
[01:05:45] Speaker A: Okay.
And in this moment of respite after Beleg has delivered, like, a huge addition to the party's efforts here, you do seem to be equalizing against the vast numbers of these small creatures that are attacking you. And the night wears on.
It's got to be, at the moment, only you up. Although you all do think about the ringing and the sound that Dr. Zozo's new weaponry produced.
And that, friends and adventures, is where we will have to leave you. Until the next time on Dungeons and Blaggards.
[01:07:46] Speaker H: Hey, guys, I want to point something out quickly.
I have sirens going on outside my window and y'all can't hear it.
[01:07:53] Speaker A: I just heard the end of it, but it's so bright.
[01:07:55] Speaker F: Really?
[01:07:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:07:57] Speaker F: We didn't hear it on my end.
[01:08:00] Speaker H: It didn't show that my mic was.
There was no green circle.
[01:08:04] Speaker E: It was really.
[01:08:07] Speaker G: I'm gonna. I'm gonna kill the gargoyle that is screeching like a police siren.
[01:08:12] Speaker A: It always comes at such the best time. Now we heard it bell like, you're not safe.
[01:08:17] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:08:17] Speaker C: I love how proud he was of that.
[01:08:19] Speaker H: I was so stoked I didn't have a green circle of pickup.
[01:08:24] Speaker C: Really.
[01:08:25] Speaker H: I just want to leave now. I'm out. Fuck this.
[01:08:30] Speaker G: We'll get em next time.
