[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am the dungeon Master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Eric! [00:00:16] Speaker B: I'm Eric and I'm playing Dr. Zozo Brightfeather. She is a level nine Aarakocra artificer potionsmith. Brandon! [00:00:25] Speaker B: I'm Ekurook Punschley. Level nine blood hunter, half orc. Caleb! [00:00:32] Speaker B: I'm a level nine warforged barbarian: Kaitoa Tata. Braeden! [00:00:40] Speaker C: Hey, I'm Braeden. I'm playing half elf, Beleg Dygar, Level 9 hexblade warlock. Tomo! [00:00:50] Speaker B: Hey, I'm playing Steve Tehuman. I am a Gloomstalker Ranger level five, Battle Master Fighter, level three. And I have just a little schmeck of rogue. And I have an Owl. Vale! [00:01:06] Speaker B: I am playing Johawk the Gnoll, a champion fighter 4, Bear totem barbarian five. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Does anybody have any upkeep or housekeeping questions? [00:01:26] Speaker G: I'm gonna say practice, but one thing. [00:01:32] Speaker B: I meant to do during a long rest was to attune to that rod. [00:01:35] Speaker A: I got Rube's reactionary rod. Yeah, and so sure, Dr. Zozo. We will say that during your rest, you simultaneously cuddled and attuned to Rube's reactionary rod, which is a wand of sorts. [00:01:57] Speaker G: Cool. [00:02:00] Speaker D: I want to know, do you have a recipe for getting gnoll blood out of fabric? [00:02:09] Speaker A: Roll for detergent. [00:02:15] Speaker G: I think gnoll blood is the trick to getting knoll blood out of the fabric. [00:02:18] Speaker D: Just more gnoll blood. [00:02:23] Speaker B: When I attuned to the rod, did it reveal it had any spells stored in it? The description is, a newly discovered rod, if inspected or attuned to, will reveal its stored spells and energy level. [00:02:37] Speaker A: While holding this rod, you can use your reaction to cast a spell from as many as three prepared spells stored within the rod. If a spellcaster attunes to this rod, they can imbue the rod with spells up to their spell level no. 3 stored spells can total more than 20 spell energy levels, But yep. Proton, do you recall who Rube is? [00:03:17] Speaker D: Some sucker. [00:03:19] Speaker F: Rube Goldberg. [00:03:20] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, wait. [00:03:23] Speaker B: I think I Rube The Cube controls transportation at the Wizards Guild. [00:03:29] Speaker A: Oh, man, you are really living that character. [00:03:33] Speaker C: Eric. [00:03:34] Speaker F: This man some inspiration. [00:03:35] Speaker A: Yeah, if you're not topped up already. That is almost word for word. What has been said [00:03:42] Speaker F: Well, take your inspiration. [00:03:47] Speaker A: It actually you could have. If you are full, you can actually give that inspiration to somebody else. [00:03:52] Speaker C: Hello. Ahoy. [00:04:01] Speaker G: No, I'm full. I have two. [00:04:03] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:04] Speaker A: Oh, sweet. Okay, we got Brandon. So now it's Braeden who is the weak link. [00:04:09] Speaker D: Oh, I just saw on, like, his Instagram being, like, at the beach like, an hour ago, and I was like, oh, you. I bet you're going to be late. [00:04:17] Speaker A: That's gonna be interesting. Okay, well, I just texted him, but I think we're gonna go, given that we are almost ready here. But. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Okay. Anybody want this inspiration? [00:04:26] Speaker C: Yep. [00:04:27] Speaker D: Kaitoa has none, so I need one. [00:04:30] Speaker B: Yes, Kaitoa, it's yours. [00:04:32] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Okay, Braeden says he's booting up Discord. Okay, so in this moment then, pre recap, this is the moment where you have all stepped into that centermost point of the circle. And Dr. Zozo, as you napped with Rube's reactionary rod there, you remember Rube - the cube - just like you said, controls transportation. What could that mean? [00:05:04] Speaker B: I'm assuming it's the, the teleportation circles. [00:05:10] Speaker A: And as you think that Dr. Zozo, like, you begin to get a sinking feeling in your stomach. [00:05:21] Speaker F: What's up? [00:05:23] Speaker G: Here. [00:05:23] Speaker A: All right, got a full house. And again, that sinking feeling in your stomach, Dr. Zozo. That was a nice little preamble. Well, welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. Previously on Dungeons and Blaggards. Still in the town of Maw, the hungry Gnoll tries to gobble up the halfling fortune teller, but is interrupted. First by the living construct who had followed close behind, and second by a giant polar bear of uncertain origin. Chaos and bloodshed ensue as the rest of the party joins the close quarters fight in the yurt. The half orc and construct concentrate on the beast while Zozo, recognizing the Gnoll's weapon from the ambush at the Hemlock Valley approximately three months ago, engages with fury. Steve throws daggers from the shadows while simultaneously asking questions. And Beleg ends up dealing the killing blow to the bear and knocks the Gnoll fighter unconscious. Now at dawn, after a long rest, the bound Gnoll speaks a strange incantation in an ancient language. Through this mass that has been constructed, he has been stripped of his weapons. And now your view becomes disturbed. Swirling and indistinct. Now colors fade away and all is reduced to gray shadows. And now just faint outlines and now fading to swirling black. [00:07:33] Speaker G: I prepare to explain myself. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Did we come out of the black yet, Kaitoa? As you say that aloud, you actually only see your party framed by black depths. [00:07:53] Speaker D: So we're in limbo. [00:07:56] Speaker C: Rook's looking very annoyed and suspiciously at the Gnoll. [00:08:02] Speaker D: Kaitoa rages. [00:08:04] Speaker F: We all heard what we Were saying what he said. [00:08:07] Speaker D: Kaitoa rages, kicks the gnoll down to head on the ground and prepares to chop his head off. [00:08:14] Speaker C: I guess they draws his. [00:08:16] Speaker G: I rage as well. [00:08:18] Speaker A: The two barbarians begin to rage and. Steve, you said. Did you hear what he said? Yes. [00:08:29] Speaker B: Zozo writes it down. [00:08:33] Speaker F: What I wanted to say is that Steve was going to act as soon as anyone was gonna do anything. [00:08:38] Speaker G: Okay. [00:08:38] Speaker A: So Steve, you're ready to action. But Ol who heard the incantation. Although the gnoll expressly tried to utter this under their breath, the circle of marble amplifies those sounds. And just like the first time when you heard them appear, this incantation seems to be taken up. Not just that permanent transportation circle that now is gone from your purview and the ground. Kaitoa, There is no ground to slam the gnoll's head to. In fact folks, you are all separated by approximately, as I understand it, five feet. Because if you were all in that circle to begin with with some barrels and yes, with I suppose some. Some of of the baskets. How many of there are you? 6. You are floating in the transportation void. [00:09:45] Speaker G: I can explain myself. Just wait. [00:09:47] Speaker D: Kaitoa throws one of the barrels. [00:09:49] Speaker C: Oh well. [00:09:50] Speaker D: Kaito throws a barrel. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Kaitoa, can you roll accuracy as a barrel drifts in the nether void towards you? [00:10:01] Speaker D: What is accuracy? [00:10:03] Speaker A: I mean, the barrel's either a ranged weapon. I'll tell you what. Roll it, Dex. Roll a Dex 14. This is one of the barrels that had some fish in it. And you launched that thing towards Johawk. And the momentum now is pushing you back as the barrel has gone forward. You are now kind of coasting backwards a bit. Kaitoa and Johawk, can you roll a dexterity saving throw as a fish barrel comes at you? [00:10:34] Speaker G: Total of four. [00:10:37] Speaker C: How far away is Johawk from me? [00:10:39] Speaker A: 60Ft. 60ft. [00:10:42] Speaker B: Zozo calls out and asks Johawk if this happened last time. He teleported. [00:10:48] Speaker G: Yes. [00:10:50] Speaker C: I don't believe that. [00:10:53] Speaker G: I'm not a good liar. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Okay. Can you roll? [00:10:58] Speaker B: It didn't happen last time. [00:10:59] Speaker A: Can you roll a char for convincing? As guys you see him just get slammed with eight bludgeoning damage with the fish barrel. [00:11:12] Speaker G: Turns into four. Since I'm raging, right? I have a total of four. [00:11:18] Speaker A: Kaitoa and the other barbarian there. What does it look like as you guys rage in the void? Like I'm picturing some sort of Dragon Ball thing. [00:11:27] Speaker D: Dragon Ball Z? [00:11:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:28] Speaker D: Super Saiyan and rage in the middle of the air. Yeah. [00:11:32] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. What was your charisma roll there, gnoll? [00:11:36] Speaker G: Total of four, right? [00:11:38] Speaker A: It is is hard to believe anything this no has to say after their recent betrayal. [00:11:45] Speaker G: Look, I'm just. I'm trying to give us an army here. [00:11:50] Speaker C: I don't believe that. [00:11:52] Speaker E: Hey, Johawk, Insight, Insight. [00:11:54] Speaker D: Grab this rope and I throw a rope towards Johawk to reel me in. [00:11:59] Speaker A: Okay, Kaitoa, because you are coasting back. You launched that rope and I'm gonna have you roll a dex again and then beleg. Roll insight. [00:12:09] Speaker E: Oh, no. We got a crevice roll. [00:12:12] Speaker D: I got a 13. [00:12:14] Speaker F: Oof. [00:12:14] Speaker E: I did not make anything good. [00:12:19] Speaker A: Okay, again, construct. Your accuracy is high. And Noel, now there is a sort of a tether being extended to you through the Zozo. Can you roll wisdom? Rook, can you roll Arcana? [00:12:35] Speaker B: And I got a 19. [00:12:37] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:12:39] Speaker F: Steve has. Has Stolas on his shoulder and they're having a little chat. [00:12:44] Speaker A: I was going to ask about Stolas because Party. You all see as you look across the void to sort of Steve's quadrant, you all see Stolas in sort of a second little bubble. There seems to be a little pocket realm on Steve's shoulder. [00:13:07] Speaker F: And Rob, what I'm whispering to Stolas and I will use magical whispers so only he can hear it is that I'm asking him to help me act as soon as we land. Wherever we land. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Okay, Dr. Zozo, you remember the rest of that sentence that you remembered before? Rube, the cube controls transportation through scroll or incantation. [00:13:40] Speaker D: Rook, Arcana, I don't think we're seven years. [00:13:44] Speaker A: Yes. So, Rook, this is foreign to you. However, there is a deep rumbling voice in the back of your mind that is assuring you that you will come through this. You are unfamiliar with this. And I have to ask now, everybody, has anybody ever transported before? [00:14:13] Speaker E: Yes, I've used my dimension door. [00:14:15] Speaker D: Yeah, I got dimension. [00:14:18] Speaker A: Okay. Yes, that's true. [00:14:20] Speaker F: Steve has spent a fair bit of time on. On separate planes. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Yes. You have miniature plane experience. Okay, excellent. [00:14:29] Speaker D: I mean, I was passed out at the time, but. [00:14:33] Speaker C: Rob, I. I wanted to draw my swords earlier. Did I do that? [00:14:39] Speaker A: Yes, there is a double. And you guys see Rookie unsheathe both his primary blades. [00:14:49] Speaker F: The way I see Steve is like just slightly turning his face to chat with Stolas every once in a while, but very much like a gunfighter just hovering in air, staring directly at the gnoll. [00:15:02] Speaker A: Well, you would be looking across this sort of deluge of barrels, and you see a couple of the baskets and barrels have kind of broken apart They've only been partially transported. And, you know, the party begins to understand that, I mean, there's been some sort of mishap. [00:15:23] Speaker G: I try to break free of the bindings. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Can you roll his strength? [00:15:29] Speaker G: Since I'm raging, I have advantage. [00:15:31] Speaker F: As soon as he immediately does that, Steve attacks. [00:15:34] Speaker G: Okay. [00:15:36] Speaker A: You see the gnoll struggling against both the fetter that you have put around his face and jowls. And I think you guys had at least his arms bound or something as you walked him to the circle. [00:15:49] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:15:49] Speaker G: Would that be an athletics check? [00:15:52] Speaker A: But yeah, a strength based skill. [00:15:55] Speaker G: Okay. Total of 26. [00:15:59] Speaker A: Hmm. Kaitoa and Dr. Zozo, who constructed this, the fetter around his face, Those were construct parts, correct? Yep. [00:16:10] Speaker G: Okay, I'm only trying to break what's restraining my arms and legs. [00:16:13] Speaker A: I was gonna say no. You feel your bonds behind your hand loosening, but you're also going to feel. Steve, can you roll on AC? [00:16:23] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:16:26] Speaker F: That's a crit 20. [00:16:28] Speaker A: Okay, what are you launching? [00:16:33] Speaker F: One of my daggers. [00:16:34] Speaker G: Okay. [00:16:37] Speaker A: And you remarked Kaitoa sort of thrown back by his own momentum when he chucked the barrel. [00:16:46] Speaker F: Yeah, but this is a dagger. [00:16:48] Speaker A: Oh, and Kaitoa, what was your aim, you know, in launching the rope to Johawk? And Johawk, in that moment, did you do anything with the rope? [00:16:56] Speaker G: I was trying to break free so I could grab the rope. [00:16:59] Speaker A: Okay, so it's still hovering maybe like a couple feet in front of you. [00:17:03] Speaker B: Mm. [00:17:03] Speaker G: Okay, so what's the damage? [00:17:06] Speaker F: Does it hit? [00:17:07] Speaker G: Oh, a crit 20. [00:17:10] Speaker F: No, I'm just wondering if there's any. Anything in between you and me that that'll change the direction of the stagger. [00:17:17] Speaker G: That's it. [00:17:19] Speaker A: Yes. You see your daggers going towards the gnoll. [00:17:23] Speaker F: Okay, should I roll damage? [00:17:26] Speaker A: Oh, please do. [00:17:26] Speaker G: Yep. Oh, please don't. [00:17:32] Speaker F: Okay, so that's five plus nine plus another. [00:17:40] Speaker D: This is a prize round, right? [00:17:43] Speaker G: I think so, yeah. [00:17:45] Speaker F: Five plus nine. So 14 plus five is 19. Plus 10 is 29. [00:17:54] Speaker G: Wow. Holy cannoli. So halved is 14. [00:18:02] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:18:04] Speaker F: Next shot, hits with a. [00:18:11] Speaker A: Minus five. [00:18:12] Speaker F: That's a 21. [00:18:14] Speaker G: That hits. [00:18:16] Speaker F: And that is three damage. Plus 15 for 18. [00:18:24] Speaker G: Halved is nine. [00:18:26] Speaker F: Next shot, hits on a 15. [00:18:29] Speaker G: That meets it. [00:18:31] Speaker F: And that is 11 plus five for 16, plus 10 for 26. [00:18:39] Speaker G: Average is 13. I am at like less than half health. [00:18:44] Speaker F: I'm going to action search and I'm gonna take my three attacks again. [00:18:49] Speaker A: And guys, you just see these daggers flying into the gnoll's body. [00:18:58] Speaker F: That's another 15. That meets it eight plus 15 for. What is that? 23 AV is 1117 plus two to hit on a 19. Yep, that is seven. Plus 15 for 22. [00:19:21] Speaker G: Halved is 11, love. [00:19:26] Speaker F: Well, that is a 14 to miss. [00:19:28] Speaker G: Yes. Not dead yet. [00:19:34] Speaker A: Oh no. You deflect one of these munitions that are kind of flying in almost slow motion through the void ether. [00:19:47] Speaker F: Oh, hold on. I will use a superiority die and I'll add it to the roll for my battle master for a precision strike. So I roll a D8. Add that. Yes sir. [00:19:59] Speaker A: Nice. [00:20:00] Speaker F: That's plus seven. So it actually does hit. [00:20:03] Speaker D: Okay, deflected it with your face. Yep. [00:20:08] Speaker F: So that is seven. Plus 15 for another 11. [00:20:12] Speaker A: Well is five and so. [00:20:15] Speaker F: No, no, that's for 11 damage. It's 22. [00:20:19] Speaker A: Oh boy. The void ether gives the ricochet that you initially parried with a strange trajectory and it's like the magic bullet. It just zigzags right back into your face. [00:20:33] Speaker F: And for my last one, there's another one. That's my bonus 19 hit. [00:20:41] Speaker G: Oh boy. [00:20:44] Speaker F: That is four. Plus three for seven. I don't get the bonus of the five, but I get plus 10. So 17 damage. [00:20:55] Speaker G: Halved is eight and that's two more than I had. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Okay. No. Are you below your hit points? [00:21:04] Speaker G: I am. [00:21:05] Speaker A: Guys, you see a flurry of daggers and the Gnoll is decimated. [00:21:13] Speaker D: Kaitoa reaches for another barrel. Robin, Kanye desperately trying grab another barrel. [00:21:19] Speaker A: Oh certainly. [00:21:20] Speaker G: Or thousand words as I lose consciousness. [00:21:23] Speaker A: Kaitoa, as you're reaching for that next barrel, the rope that extended towards the Gnoll now extends towards the lifeless body of the Gnoll, kind of arching backwards in space, punctured what, six or seven times over by throwing daggers. And Gnoll, can you make your first death saving throw? [00:21:48] Speaker F: Steve says that's a failure. [00:21:52] Speaker A: Okay, that is a failure. And yeah, there is another barrel floating towards you. Kaitoa. [00:21:57] Speaker E: What did Steve say? [00:21:58] Speaker F: I hate Iz. [00:22:00] Speaker D: Oh, Kaitoa, I want to try and. [00:22:04] Speaker B: Climb into the barrel. [00:22:05] Speaker E: Yes, we know that was the intention. [00:22:09] Speaker D: I want to try and hide and crawl into the barrel. [00:22:12] Speaker B: Okay, there. [00:22:13] Speaker A: There are some large barrels. And Zozo, as you exclaim that and you guys start to mention that you do look around, there is no sign of any destination materializing in the same way that your place of departure dematerialized. [00:22:31] Speaker E: What if we try saying the incantation again? [00:22:36] Speaker G: Let's try. [00:22:39] Speaker A: Joe Hawk, can you make another death saving throw? [00:22:43] Speaker G: I'm not using this deck. Success. [00:22:47] Speaker A: Okay, that is one. One you really need to succeed. On that next one. [00:22:54] Speaker G: Oh, I do. [00:22:56] Speaker A: And party. Now the body of the gnoll sort of drifts just a little bit out of that sort of sort of circle that you guys sort of have between you as the momentum of the daggers, you know, just pushes him away. And, you know, Steve, you've managed to control your momentum. I'd say that you and the Stolas are sort of drifting just a little away. Zozo, Rook, Beleg, and Kaitoa, you know, as far as I can tell, you're all probably equidistant. And we can imagine the baskets and. And the barrels of beer are all kind of the center point. [00:23:35] Speaker F: Is there a visual. Visual sort of idea of where this ends? Like, is there an edge or is this just like a void? [00:23:44] Speaker E: Like, do we see what looks like there's nothing. There's no sign of. [00:23:48] Speaker D: Yeah, I think it's just destination. [00:23:51] Speaker E: That's why I suggested saying the incantation again. [00:23:54] Speaker F: Just keeps floating away. Like stuff doesn't actually hit an edge and disappear or break or bounce off. [00:24:01] Speaker A: There is neither up nor down. No boundaries or borders that you see. All the party felt was this sinking feeling in your stomach as the transportation circle, the permanent physical transportation circle of maw sort of dematerialized. You all felt that sinking feeling, but now there's a feeling of weightlessness and no inertia and no gravity, no movement, no horizon, no points of light. [00:24:34] Speaker D: Zozo, do you think we can talk to Rubes if he's watching? [00:24:39] Speaker G: Um, yeah. [00:24:40] Speaker B: I mean, maybe. [00:24:42] Speaker D: Hey, rube. Kaitoa just shouts out, hey, rube. [00:24:50] Speaker A: Hey, rube. [00:24:55] Speaker B: Hey Rube. You want your rod back? Yeah. [00:24:59] Speaker A: You do say that aloud to the void. Kaitoa, how do you feel you would be making yourself known. Are you shouting this or in some other way? [00:25:13] Speaker D: Good question. I'm gonna give my little path steam toot. [00:25:22] Speaker A: And then. [00:25:23] Speaker D: And then just like I actually gonna hold on to my homing beacon and just think like in my mind yell, hey, Rubes. Hey. [00:25:36] Speaker A: You begin to feel the passage of time, and hunger pangs begin to grow in your tum tum. And your bellies and your lips become dry and your eyes become dry. And you feel as if time is passing. [00:26:00] Speaker D: Are we getting really old in here? [00:26:03] Speaker E: Beleg says the incantation. [00:26:06] Speaker A: Beleg, what is that Incantation and party as you drift close to each other and close to the collection of items that have sort of come along with. Beleg begins to say something. [00:26:20] Speaker F: Oh, where is it? [00:26:22] Speaker G: In the chat. [00:26:25] Speaker E: I wrote it down. But I wrote it down. Wrong. I think I have like ab posse ad poset valet consequentia. [00:26:33] Speaker A: And all of a sudden, at the same time that Beleg ratatatats the incantation off. [00:26:43] Speaker E: valet consequentia... [00:26:45] Speaker A: All of a sudden, there is a sound from the void. [00:26:54] Speaker D: Did we just pop his cherry? [00:26:56] Speaker E: It was a butt plug, wasn't it? [00:26:59] Speaker B: Rube. [00:27:01] Speaker D: Ruby, my dear. [00:27:08] Speaker A: There is no response from the black void other than now three noises. [00:27:17] Speaker C: Hey, Rob, I've got a question. [00:27:20] Speaker G: Can I. [00:27:21] Speaker C: Would this void be deemed as an like. As an object that I'd be able to meditate on? [00:27:30] Speaker A: Yes. [00:27:32] Speaker C: Yeah, so I'm gonna use my grim psych - psychology. [00:27:36] Speaker A: Grim psychometry. [00:27:37] Speaker C: Yeah, and meditate for 10 minutes on. On the void to gain insights on details of its past. While he's doing that with a wisdom. [00:27:49] Speaker D: Check, Kaitoa's gonna mimic those three. [00:27:56] Speaker A: Okay, well, you know, Rook, is this something you just do or you need to roll them? [00:28:02] Speaker C: I have to. It says I have to roll DZ determined by DM. [00:28:06] Speaker A: Okay, so roll a D20 plus what. [00:28:11] Speaker C: Would. [00:28:11] Speaker A: Would you add a proficiency? Sounds like wisdom. [00:28:16] Speaker C: Yeah, it's wisdom. That's 18. [00:28:21] Speaker A: Hours, minutes, days. You know, your grim psychometry attunes you to some sort of perhaps dark and sinister purpose. You do begin to sense that this transportation plane is not uninhabited. [00:28:45] Speaker C: Do I know how to. What direction to go based off of that? Or how to at least start to maneuver away from or I guess, yeah, through this void to something? [00:29:01] Speaker A: No, as you look to your party, you all still feel motionless and inert. There is no feeling of movement. There's no feeling of inertia or direction. It is very disconcerting. And you know, as you look back to your party, you know, they seem to be in this moment as you kind of come out of your grim psychometry trance there. They seem to be interacting though with it. And you see Kaitoa. Kaitoa. What are you mimicking the popping sounds with your own metallic voice? [00:29:36] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna yell to them. We're not alone in this void. There's something else. [00:29:45] Speaker D: Just the popping sounds. I'm gonna do like all close encounters and just like mimic the sound. [00:30:03] Speaker F: Can I. Can I ask Stolas where we are? [00:30:07] Speaker A: Yes. You had appealed to the wisdom of Stolas before. And what would you. What would you know? [00:30:17] Speaker F: I guess like what I'm looking for is again, probably just thinking of the mind of Steve, knowing where we are in the grand scheme. So if we are on a particular plane, where that plane exists and what relation it has to the places that I've been. [00:30:35] Speaker A: As you consult with Stolas Kaitoa, you hear a new sequence of Pops. [00:30:43] Speaker D: Kaitoa looks at his homing stone hiding in the barrel and then mimics the sound. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Okay. And Stolas has, when you look into their eyes, a void. There is no starfield displayed. There are none of the other visions you have seen in your sort of ethereal familiars eyes. There is the very same void that you are in. And in fact, as you stare into Stolas eyes, you begin to see yourself and the party floating around the barrels in the void. Oh my. Steven. [00:31:35] Speaker F: My name is Steve. [00:31:37] Speaker A: One day, the little water droplet that had lived all of its life alongside the other little water droplets in the river was approaching a waterfall. And it was tossed. It saw that it was part of the river. Oh my. Oh my. [00:32:01] Speaker G: Oh my God. [00:32:03] Speaker F: So how do we get back to the river? [00:32:07] Speaker A: Okay, Steve, as you kind of rotate 360 party and Zozo and Kaitoa, you hear the popping getting louder. And now there is another sequence of Pops and Steve. There is no response. Stolas. Now the eyes turn back to black. You feel like your mind has been bent. [00:32:37] Speaker F: There is no spoon. [00:32:42] Speaker G: Can I make a death saving throw? This is just eating at me. [00:32:47] Speaker A: You're clinging there. Holy shit. [00:32:49] Speaker G: Natural 20. [00:32:51] Speaker A: Go. [00:32:51] Speaker F: Oh, he's back. [00:32:53] Speaker A: Party. The tail begins to wag. [00:32:57] Speaker C: Please. [00:33:00] Speaker D: Kaitoa readies his crossbow. [00:33:07] Speaker C: We gotta figure out how to get out of this fucking thing. [00:33:10] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:33:11] Speaker F: We've gotta. We gotta figure out how to. How to get back in. [00:33:17] Speaker G: I am powerless. [00:33:21] Speaker C: Damn rights you are. [00:33:24] Speaker G: Please let me go back to my tribe. [00:33:29] Speaker C: Why would we do that? [00:33:32] Speaker A: Like I brought. [00:33:33] Speaker G: I bring you an army. [00:33:35] Speaker C: I don't trust you. You're supposed to take us to the wizards Guild and you're trying to take us to Iz. Now we're stuck in this place. [00:33:43] Speaker D: Yeah, you got us into this. Fucking turd bull. [00:33:47] Speaker G: Who's to say that it wouldn't be this way if I recited it correctly. [00:33:52] Speaker D: So you botched your plan to fuck us over. It's still no sympathy for you. [00:34:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think this. [00:34:02] Speaker F: Who's to say we're all not gonna die out here? [00:34:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:34:09] Speaker A: Well Belloc, as the words of the correct incantation of the spell escaped your lips. You know, you feel an incompleteness to this spell. And you and perhaps Zozo begin to realize of course that a spell must be completed. [00:34:37] Speaker E: Oh, I didn't say a destination. [00:34:38] Speaker D: Yeah, you didn't. You just said the. Yeah, you just said for the Spell. [00:34:43] Speaker A: And then moreover, of course, I guess. Can I have everybody roll a group? Arcana. As your situation becomes dire, you look at each other's cheeks, you look at each other's sunken eyes, and you begin to note that the passage of time is indeed strange. You feel not as if you have been falling or rising, but if. As if you have been treading water now for weeks. [00:35:16] Speaker D: 16 total of 14. [00:35:19] Speaker F: 20. [00:35:20] Speaker E: 19 minus 1 for 18. [00:35:23] Speaker D: Kaitoa looks as handsome as ever. [00:35:25] Speaker F: 16 for Steve. [00:35:27] Speaker C: What do I got there, Arcana? That's a 21. [00:35:31] Speaker A: Nice. Okay, well, so you're. You're all then collectively realizing something sort of terrifying here. All of these small movements seem to be taking exponentially longer. Even these small gestures seem to take a huge toll on you now. And Rook, you are the first to feel a presence. Terrifying indeed. After the black void has been your home now for what seems like almost ages. Can everybody roll? [00:36:11] Speaker C: Somebody finish that. Say death still. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Wisdom saving throw. [00:36:17] Speaker G: 13. [00:36:18] Speaker A: You failed. [00:36:19] Speaker G: 15. [00:36:20] Speaker C: 15. [00:36:22] Speaker A: Rook, you fail. [00:36:24] Speaker D: I got an 18. [00:36:26] Speaker A: You fail, Kaitoa. [00:36:27] Speaker C: Oh, gotta be a 20. Dirty dog. [00:36:32] Speaker E: That leg failed. [00:36:34] Speaker C: I don't. [00:36:34] Speaker F: I don't have to. [00:36:35] Speaker E: Inspiration. [00:36:36] Speaker A: You want to use inspiration? [00:36:39] Speaker E: Oh, I did use inspiration. [00:36:40] Speaker A: Oh boy. [00:36:41] Speaker D: You burned it. [00:36:41] Speaker B: Okay, I think zozo's gonna use an inspiration. [00:36:44] Speaker A: Okay, you want to re roll that? [00:36:46] Speaker C: No. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Oh. Nat. [00:36:47] Speaker B: 20. [00:36:50] Speaker A: Zozo. There is a psychic wave of damage that you immediately inflict. [00:36:56] Speaker D: Chew it. [00:36:57] Speaker A: But guys, there's a psychic wave of damage coursing towards the party. [00:37:03] Speaker D: Does my barrel protect me from it? [00:37:07] Speaker A: The barrel? The barrel does nothing. [00:37:11] Speaker D: Damn. Damn barrel does nothing. [00:37:13] Speaker C: Come run. [00:37:14] Speaker D: The barrel. [00:37:15] Speaker A: It does nothing. So, Zozo, you. You have passed. It is a DC19 wisdom saving throw. Has anybody passed other than Zozo? [00:37:25] Speaker B: Okay, I think Zozo just. Just emptied her mind. She was like, be the void. So I come in and just to shut her mind down completely as it passed. [00:37:36] Speaker D: Avoid the Void. [00:37:41] Speaker A: Can everybody take 18 psychic damage? Oh, yeah. [00:37:46] Speaker G: Not have. [00:37:48] Speaker A: No, no. [00:37:50] Speaker G: Negative 17. [00:37:51] Speaker C: Kaitoa, aren't you raging still? [00:37:53] Speaker D: Yeah, but psychic damage, I don't resist. [00:37:56] Speaker C: But you don't have a brain. [00:37:58] Speaker D: Yeah, you resist everything other than psychic. [00:38:02] Speaker G: Do I keep my successes and failures? [00:38:05] Speaker A: This is new territory for me, buddy. [00:38:08] Speaker G: I believe you lose all of them. [00:38:13] Speaker A: As long as you came back to me. It stands to reason that, like bowling pins, you would set them up again. [00:38:19] Speaker G: Okay? [00:38:20] Speaker A: I mean, that's why they're little erasable dots. [00:38:22] Speaker C: No, I'm gonna tell after we've taken our damage here. Look at Belly again. Tell him to repeat the himanzo. So repeat the spell, but say a destination at the end. Say. [00:38:38] Speaker D: Yeah, where are we? What's the destination name? Like Frost Tower. [00:38:43] Speaker C: Anywhere. Do it quick. [00:38:49] Speaker F: Tower. Brass Tower. [00:39:01] Speaker A: Kaitoa. As your words join with Beleg, you and he begin to feel some momentum in the void. You are drawn ever so slightly upwards. [00:39:24] Speaker D: I repeat it. [00:39:26] Speaker B: Zozo started saying it too. [00:39:27] Speaker D: I guess I just keep chanting it. [00:39:30] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:39:32] Speaker G: I'd like to make a death saving throw. Let's see if I can net 20. Let's see if I can net 20 and start doing this too. [00:39:39] Speaker A: Party. As you begin to chant the words in unison. Yes, Noel, you can certainly try that first death saving throw. [00:39:51] Speaker G: 10 does not succeed. I don't think it meets. [00:39:55] Speaker A: It beats it. [00:39:56] Speaker F: Oh. [00:39:57] Speaker G: Oh, wonderful. [00:39:58] Speaker F: Ten enough. [00:39:58] Speaker A: I think ten enough. [00:40:01] Speaker G: Oh, goodness. [00:40:02] Speaker A: You all find yourself out of rhythm. And then from the void, you know, there begins to be a bit of a rhythmic popping. That final syllable of pop. [00:40:18] Speaker E: All right, gentlemen, from the top. One, two, three, go. [00:40:24] Speaker A: A.B. s. Everything falls apart. The barrels begin to split. And you see the fish begin to rend and nails and wood that has been lashed together begins to break apart. And then from beneath you, you do begin to sense a sort of above and below developing. And beneath you, you begin to see a point of red light. [00:41:07] Speaker G: Am I floating down towards this red light? [00:41:09] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:41:10] Speaker A: You are drawn as with the barrels, along with the party. [00:41:15] Speaker G: Okay. [00:41:17] Speaker D: And we're all chanting it together now. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Yeah. And then Beleg says again from the top. [00:41:25] Speaker G: I didn't think that was a cue. [00:41:29] Speaker C: Everybody was afraid to because last time it went so well. [00:41:32] Speaker B: One, two, three. [00:41:45] Speaker E: We are all saying it in time. It's just a latency issue. It's the Nothing to do with us. [00:41:52] Speaker F: God damn it, Discord. You us again. [00:41:55] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:55] Speaker G: Why can't things. [00:41:56] Speaker B: Can we get a performance role? [00:41:59] Speaker A: And I will. I will actually have. Whoever said jazz hands roll performance. [00:42:05] Speaker B: That was me. [00:42:06] Speaker A: Okay. And party. All right. Just as you are drawn upwards, this red glow becomes all consuming beneath you. But then it retracts to a point of. But seems to be thousands of leagues away. And suddenly everybody feels borne upwards. Gray swirls mingle with the black void. Now outlines appear. Now a white sort of sky replaces the black void. And all of a sudden, blackness again. It is as if you were outside momentarily. And then now you seem to be inside some large circular room. And then just as everybody materializes, Zozo says, jazz hands. And her wings are outstretched towards what can only be described as a gigantic gelatinous cube. [00:43:12] Speaker G: Is it death saving throw time? [00:43:14] Speaker B: Zozo's gonna revive Joe. [00:43:17] Speaker G: Oh, I think we. [00:43:19] Speaker B: We have bigger issues right now. [00:43:21] Speaker G: Okay, how do you revive me? Do you, like, stabilize me? [00:43:26] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. She mixes up a little healing potion and dumps it down your throat. [00:43:35] Speaker G: Okay. How much does that heal me? [00:43:37] Speaker A: 2D10. [00:43:39] Speaker G: See? [00:43:39] Speaker B: Okay, rolling. [00:43:40] Speaker E: As soon as he becomes conscious, Beleg steps on his tail. [00:43:46] Speaker B: Sixteen. Sixteen hit points. [00:43:48] Speaker G: Okay. Back into consciousness. [00:43:53] Speaker B: And then she pushes him towards the cube. [00:44:00] Speaker A: Zozo, can you make a strength check with advantage? [00:44:05] Speaker G: Okay, if it matters, I am 280 pounds. 18. [00:44:15] Speaker A: Okay, Noel, you are revived. And this has been a strange brush with death indeed. And here's the scene, guys. The five of you stand, you know, approximately 30ft away from this huge gelatinous cube. I mean, it's gotta be like 15ft across, up and in depth. It is huge. It is sort of a dark olive green, and there seem to be some objects suspended inside it. And in the moment that you quickly see Zozo administer a healing draft, she then. Did you just shove him towards the cube? [00:45:03] Speaker B: Shoves him between the cube and us. [00:45:08] Speaker A: Okay, well, now I would say, Johawk, you are now foremost first most in front of the cube. All is dark in this room. It is a completely round room. There seem to be no angles and, you know, for all intents and purposes, no doors or exits. Just the faintly glowing green cube. [00:45:36] Speaker E: The brass tower is kind of disappointing, eh, boys? [00:45:41] Speaker D: The brass. The brass. [00:45:46] Speaker F: So, no, the brass cube is. The cube is making this noise I. [00:45:53] Speaker E: See, as it popping at us. [00:45:59] Speaker A: And there is sort of a latent popping as air bubbles are sort of expelled from the cube. And guys, as you see Zozo kick the gnoll forward towards the cube. You can also see that behind his back, his bonds are almost free. And can you roll that strength? You guys see the gnoll struggling? [00:46:25] Speaker G: Double natural ones. [00:46:27] Speaker A: Ooh. [00:46:30] Speaker C: I'm gonna ready. I'm gonna ready my blood curse of the binding. [00:46:35] Speaker G: Okay. [00:46:36] Speaker A: Blood curse of the binding. You're gonna lock that in. [00:46:39] Speaker G: Johawk, what was that total of 20 dirty. [00:46:44] Speaker A: Okay, the bonds snap. [00:46:48] Speaker C: I'm gonna quickly blood curse him with a binding. [00:46:52] Speaker A: And what does he need to make a wisdom saving throw? [00:46:55] Speaker C: He needs to make it. Yeah, A strength saving throw. [00:47:00] Speaker G: Strength saving throw. [00:47:02] Speaker C: Yeah, which probably isn't the best because you're probably very good at strength. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Rook, your blood curse of the binding is rebuked. Dang it. By the raw strength of this hairy fellow. [00:47:16] Speaker C: Okay, after that, I'm gonna do my Grimm psychometry on this cube, I can do it once per. Once per item. So I did it on the void, and now I'm doing it on the cube. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Okay, guys, after you see Rook try to clearly do some sort of restraining or binding spell here. Now, he places his fingers on his temple and looks right at the cube. Rest of the party. What are you doing, [00:47:45] Speaker D: Robin, the construct parts, did you say? I roll for them? [00:47:50] Speaker G: Roll a 1. D. 4. Okay. [00:47:54] Speaker D: 2. [00:47:56] Speaker A: Okay. In this case, they are willing, but usually will have some sort of rando effect. [00:48:05] Speaker D: I'm gonna try and get his muzzle to start cinching around his mouth. Tighter. [00:48:12] Speaker A: I see. Well, in this moment, Kaitoa, you know, you feel your amulet that is smashed into your chest plate. Yeah. You feel it twitch and twitter in your chest. [00:48:28] Speaker F: Steve is looking for an exit. [00:48:31] Speaker C: Rob, on that, I got a 17. [00:48:34] Speaker A: So this is the dark motivations of some arcane stuff. Steve, at the moment, there appears to your senses to be no, you know, doors leading or windows leading out or around this chamber. There appear to be no stairs leading up or down from this chamber. It is perfectly round. It is perfectly dark, except for this sort of like bioluminescence that seems to be coming from the cube. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Can we see through the cube? [00:49:05] Speaker A: You can, yes. And there are objects. [00:49:08] Speaker D: Can you see the objects? Can we see what's in there? [00:49:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:49:13] Speaker G: And the cube. [00:49:16] Speaker A: Rook, your own learning does not tell you much about what would be the origin of this cube or gelatinous cube. You do know one thing, though. You have knowledge of the Wizards Guild. And you know that, Rube, this cube is the High Magi. Of the five seats of the Wizards Guild, one is vacant. Three are held by other wizards. And this is the fourth and, you know, most potent High Magi. And this comes from your noble orcish education. [00:50:06] Speaker C: Okay, is there any. Can I detect any hints towards, like, a sinister purpose or dark events that have maybe previously surrounded it? [00:50:17] Speaker A: Yes. You sense that the form you are looking at is a dark purpose. You sense great hatred and a great humiliation when you look at this creature. [00:50:33] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna just relay the information to the rest of the guys. And. [00:50:40] Speaker G: I'm still backing away. [00:50:42] Speaker C: This is one of the main wizards in High Mania. We're gonna have to figure this out. This is the main. Main Guru. [00:50:56] Speaker D: Robin, can we see what's inside? [00:50:58] Speaker E: Why don't you speak 'pop' You speak everything else. [00:51:04] Speaker A: Who was curious in the contents of the. Right, so group perception, everybody. As everybody sees the gnoll, step back and. Rook, you give a couple of. You give a couple of lines of Caution there. Roll Group perception. [00:51:25] Speaker G: Total of 20. [00:51:27] Speaker B: I got 19. [00:51:29] Speaker D: 15. [00:51:30] Speaker F: Sorry, what are we rolling again? [00:51:32] Speaker D: Perception. [00:51:33] Speaker E: I bell. I rolled a seven. [00:51:36] Speaker C: Perception is 21. That's a 12. [00:51:45] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:45] Speaker G: Oh, while I'm backing away, can I. Second wind? [00:51:49] Speaker A: Yeah, second wind. Is that restoring some hit points or. [00:51:52] Speaker G: Yeah, 1D10 plus my fighter level. [00:51:57] Speaker D: So. So why'd you heal him? [00:52:02] Speaker B: I thought it'd be useful to have someone else here. An extra target for attack by a. [00:52:09] Speaker D: Does everyone. Does everyone notice him running away right now? [00:52:13] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:52:14] Speaker G: Yeah. Where's he gonna run? [00:52:15] Speaker A: Where's he gonna run to? [00:52:16] Speaker C: There's no doors. [00:52:18] Speaker B: He's between us and the Cube. [00:52:20] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm not too worried about him trying to back away. [00:52:23] Speaker G: Yeah, I'm gonna go all the way to the wall, if any. If everyone permits me. [00:52:28] Speaker A: It is not a far journey to the wall. And in the dark Rover, red corners. Here there is nothing other than a smooth curvilinear wall. Johawk and party, you see Johawk fruitlessly, very quickly reach the perimeter of the room. [00:52:48] Speaker G: There is nothing but fear in his eyes. [00:52:51] Speaker B: Should we teleport again? Leave him here? [00:53:00] Speaker D: Robin, do we see what's in the cube? [00:53:04] Speaker A: You do. You know, Group, you see a scroll in a scroll tube, a candelabra with four prongs on it for four candles. And it appears that there's also a quill, a black floating quill and a little pot of ink. [00:53:35] Speaker B: I really want to know what's on those scrolls. [00:53:38] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:53:38] Speaker C: Can I. [00:53:39] Speaker D: Can I use my, like, eagle vision to see what's on that? Anything written on it? [00:53:44] Speaker A: Yes, totally. Go, go. Construct eagle Eyes. You want to zoom in on the scroll? [00:53:49] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:53:50] Speaker A: Okay. Can you roll perception with advantage. [00:53:54] Speaker D: Dirty 20? [00:53:56] Speaker A: You can clearly see that this is a scroll that is in the final stages of being completed. And the little black quill is just finishing sort of signing a sort of sigil at the bottom of this scroll. And it appears to be a transportation spell. [00:54:24] Speaker D: Can I relay that to the party? [00:54:27] Speaker A: Yes. And it says, maw to the brass towers. What you recognize to be Kaitoa, the incantation that you and the party were saying. [00:54:42] Speaker D: I think it may be a bit of a like, like stenographer of like, everything that was going on. Because it. [00:54:53] Speaker A: I. [00:54:54] Speaker D: From what I can tell, it's everything that we were, like, speaking in that void is. It seems to be written on that. [00:55:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Maybe it's keeping track of all of comings and goings through the circles. [00:55:08] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:55:10] Speaker G: Can I, like, speak through my teeth as the thing clenched around my jaw? [00:55:16] Speaker D: I Don't think I succeeded. [00:55:17] Speaker A: I was gonna say, in fact, your muzzle begins to sort of have a life of its own. The construct parts that, you know, Kaitoa and Zozo, fashioned as a Hannibal Lecter mask, begin to sort of display a little personality - they permit you speaking. [00:55:38] Speaker G: Yeah, okay. Oh, that's a good question. What do I want to say? [00:55:45] Speaker D: Okay, so if this thing's, like, got documentation on everything that's been transported through it, how the fuck do we get out of this room? [00:55:56] Speaker F: We got to kill it and take all the shit out of its tummy. [00:56:01] Speaker D: Well, it looks like there's other scrolls in it, so maybe. [00:56:06] Speaker C: But what do you guys. How do you guys want to attack it? Gelatinous cube. We can't. [00:56:11] Speaker A: I don't. [00:56:12] Speaker G: I've almost died of gelatinous cube before. Yeah. I'm Joe. I might have impressed a little bit of that into Joe Hawk, but these things are vile. [00:56:22] Speaker D: Yeah. I don't want to even go near this thing. [00:56:26] Speaker C: Burn it. [00:56:28] Speaker G: All I'm gonna say is there is no shame I would endure. I wouldn't endure. To be back in maw. [00:56:35] Speaker D: The candelabra is kind of interesting. [00:56:39] Speaker F: How hard can it be. [00:56:42] Speaker E: To fight this thing? [00:56:44] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:56:45] Speaker D: Oh, I'm not interested. I think this thing is gonna kick our ass. [00:56:51] Speaker E: I do have a good hunch that it could deal some serious psychic damage. [00:56:55] Speaker D: If it is one of five seats on the wizard guild. [00:56:58] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:57:00] Speaker D: But somebody told me it was, like, what was it about? Like, shamed. [00:57:05] Speaker E: Humiliated. [00:57:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:07] Speaker C: Shame. [00:57:07] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:57:08] Speaker D: Which means, like, I don't know, maybe it's a shamed wizard who got turned into a cube. [00:57:15] Speaker G: Like, maybe we could reason with it. [00:57:18] Speaker D: Yeah. I, I, we do have his little rubes rod. [00:57:22] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. Where did we get Rube's rod from? [00:57:26] Speaker D: Zozo's got it. [00:57:30] Speaker F: Maybe it wants. Maybe it wants the rod. [00:57:32] Speaker D: Yeah. Zozo giving it the rod. [00:57:36] Speaker F: Give it the rod, zozo. [00:57:38] Speaker D: Yeah, I think that's, like, one of our only bets of, like, the only. [00:57:44] Speaker A: We have if it wants the rod back. [00:57:47] Speaker D: I also have a Twin towers broach, but I don't think it's really gonna do anything now. [00:57:52] Speaker C: Twin towers or brass towers brooch. [00:57:58] Speaker D: But I guess the rod. [00:58:01] Speaker G: I was banking on that natural 20 to happen. That was my whole plan, and it happened. Oh, my God. I don't think I'm gonna survive much longer. But I'm glad. I'm glad I could nat20 a death save throw for once. [00:58:18] Speaker A: That was pretty close. [00:58:20] Speaker F: That was pretty close also. [00:58:21] Speaker D: Hey, Eric. Oh, my God. He's saying that, like, you have Rube's rod, and that's, like, the only thing I think that could reason with this thing. Yeah. [00:58:32] Speaker B: Yep. [00:58:33] Speaker G: I do have. [00:58:33] Speaker B: I do have room's rod. [00:58:36] Speaker G: Emma's had it. [00:58:38] Speaker F: I mean, if he's. If he's being shamed, maybe he'll help us fuck these guys back over. [00:58:44] Speaker G: Yeah, Johawk's newfound empathy could help. He's feeling pretty shameful too. [00:58:51] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:58:54] Speaker D: I don't know how you talk to a gelatinous cube. [00:58:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:58:59] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, we could try teleporting out of here, but we might just get stuck in the void again if we do that. [00:59:04] Speaker D: So. [00:59:04] Speaker G: Yeah, if it starts approaching, I think that's a good contingency plan. [00:59:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:10] Speaker F: Well, I mean, it hasn't attacked yet, so it doesn't have, like, an aggressive intent. [00:59:17] Speaker B: Well. [00:59:17] Speaker D: And it seems to have the ability to write. So why don't we just like. [00:59:22] Speaker E: Oh, we should ask it to write something. [00:59:24] Speaker D: Yeah, let's. Like, what if we poke a note inside it too? [00:59:27] Speaker B: It's like. [00:59:30] Speaker D: I'll use the word artist adze. [00:59:33] Speaker B: What do we want the cube to. [00:59:34] Speaker F: Do, though, to help us get us. [00:59:37] Speaker D: Out of this room? [00:59:42] Speaker A: Bubbles are percolating now from the top of the cube. You see them rising up from the quill and the ink pot. [00:59:56] Speaker D: Is it writing? [00:59:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:59] Speaker G: Is it eating? [01:00:01] Speaker A: No. Although gnoll always hunger on your mind. You do note there is a chicken carcass that is slowly being digested in the back of the cube. [01:00:18] Speaker F: Don't get it. [01:00:19] Speaker G: Chicken. [01:00:22] Speaker F: Reach in and grab it. [01:00:25] Speaker D: Robin. I'm gonna write. I'm gonna try and find. Do I have a piece of paper? Does anyone have a piece of paper? [01:00:34] Speaker B: I think Zozo carries paper. [01:00:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:36] Speaker D: And I'm gonna use my artist adze to, like, write. Do you understand us? And I'm gonna try poking it into the cube, poking this little message. [01:00:46] Speaker B: We haven't tried talking to it out loud yet. [01:00:48] Speaker E: Yeah, I did say, hey, rube at the very beginning, but I don't know if anybody heard me. [01:00:54] Speaker A: Beleg you were responded to with some of that popping. And beleg as Zozo produces some blank scroll like you think about your Scholars Pack and how unused it always is. [01:01:12] Speaker E: In hindsight, I regret taking the Scholars Pack. [01:01:16] Speaker F: Well, there is writing utensils for sure in a Scholars pack. [01:01:19] Speaker E: Oh, absolutely. [01:01:22] Speaker A: So you guys have now opportuned two methods of communication, and the popping begins to multiply and amplify. [01:01:34] Speaker G: There is no shame. I would not endure to be away. [01:01:37] Speaker D: From this Kaitoa thinks back of like isn't morse code or like his military background of like, is there any kind of rhythm in the popping? [01:01:49] Speaker A: Kaitoa, is there any rhythm in the popping? I will give you inspiration, sweet. And you are aware of an obscure in this age, but common in an age 10,000 years ago. This is morose code. [01:02:13] Speaker C: Sweet. [01:02:14] Speaker D: Kaitoa's gonna start trying to translate it. [01:02:19] Speaker A: Well, the moment that you heard the popping in the void, you were the first to respond. And if you think back, you now can decipher it. R U B E. And the moment that Beleg said the incantation and Zozo held aloft Rube's reactionary rod and you began to respond. You understand? The rube chants with you. Rube was there observing. [01:02:49] Speaker D: Okay. [01:02:51] Speaker A: And the scroll begins to write. Now the quill dips into this strange black pot party as you look on and it begins to write a new scroll. And that which you saw completed, Kaitoa completely evaporates. It is consumed by the acidic core of the gelatinous cube. And gnoll, just as the scroll that you used travel from is, which does not have a permanent transportation circle of any type, shape or form, you used a scroll. And you see the very same strange dark brown paper scroll and black ink that you discovered underneath the keep of Iz in Nafre's stash. [01:03:49] Speaker G: That is the same thing I used to get to maw. You can understand this thing? [01:03:57] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:03:59] Speaker G: Can it take me back to his? [01:04:03] Speaker B: I think it could. [01:04:06] Speaker A: As the party exchanged those words, you see two words appear on the paper. Pop pop. [01:04:18] Speaker F: Pop, pop. [01:04:22] Speaker A: And Kaitoa. You know that to be I. And gradually you know, Kaitoa, you can translate a sentence. I am Rube, the cube High Magi. [01:04:38] Speaker B: Were you the one who sent us to that void? [01:04:42] Speaker A: Zozo, as you say that, you see a rapid response and it is in the form of either blots and dashes. You know, it seems like the spell scroll that you saw written and that you seem to be now all sort of familiar with, you know, the concept that a non spellcaster can simply read a scroll. And this though is in a different sort of communication. This is in some sort of code. Zozo, your question was, did you send. [01:05:18] Speaker B: Us to the void? [01:05:21] Speaker D: No Rube, you control all travel. [01:05:28] Speaker A: The scroll writes 'brought you here' [01:05:35] Speaker F: What do you want from us? [01:05:36] Speaker D: Why did you bring us here? [01:05:39] Speaker A: How long were you in the void? You see 'two weeks' appear. [01:05:51] Speaker D: Did we long rest? [01:05:55] Speaker A: The scroll says 'yes' Other questions? [01:06:00] Speaker D: Why did you bring us here? [01:06:02] Speaker A: Yeah, there are two little blotches that appear. One of them is a pictogram. It is a rod. It seems to be a wand. The other one is what looks like a ring. So two pictograms. Is what is answered. [01:06:26] Speaker D: Is that Rube's rod? [01:06:30] Speaker G: I saw the ring. Right? Does it want my wedding ring? [01:06:37] Speaker A: Wait, you're married? [01:06:40] Speaker E: Who would marry you? [01:06:47] Speaker D: Savage. [01:06:50] Speaker F: Such a racist. [01:06:55] Speaker E: I assume he married his own kind. [01:06:58] Speaker G: I should be offended. But all I feel is shame. [01:07:02] Speaker D: Shamed her Sister wife? [01:07:09] Speaker G: You have shamed me. [01:07:15] Speaker F: What? Does this ring have any particular look to it? Is there. Is there something that. [01:07:25] Speaker A: It is a ring of rings. Eight small rings intertwined, making almost what might look like the pictogram of perhaps a bracelet on closer inspection. [01:07:42] Speaker B: Does anybody. [01:07:44] Speaker D: No? [01:07:47] Speaker A: Beleg. Can you roll a persuasion? The cube begins to pop and burp, and the chicken carcass kind of flies out the back. [01:08:03] Speaker E: Oh, the rolls are not with me today. That was eight. [01:08:08] Speaker G: Can I have that? As I point to the chicken carcass. [01:08:13] Speaker A: Okay. Beleg. As you exclaim this, and it appears like a digestion and a sort of evacuation has occurred here in the darkened room. All of a sudden, it appears like a trapdoor has opened from above. Now all of a sudden, there appears to be a 5x5 opening or aperture. And now there is bright white light shining down. And that is where we will have to leave you until the next time on Dungeons and Blaggards.
