Episode Transcript

Eric!
[00:00:16] Speaker B: I'm Eric and I'm playing Dr. Zozo Brightfeather. She is a level nine Aarakocra artificer potionsmith.
Brandon!
[00:00:25] Speaker B: I'm Ekurook Punschley. Level nine blood hunter, half orc.
Caleb!
[00:00:32] Speaker B: I'm a level nine warforged barbarian: Kaitoa Tata.
Braeden!
[00:00:40] Speaker C: Hey, I'm Braeden. I'm playing half elf, Belar Dygar, Level 9 hexblade warlock.
Tomo!
[00:00:50] Speaker B: Hey, I'm playing Steve Tehuman. I am a Gloomstalker Ranger level five, Battle Master Fighter, level three. And I have just a little schmeck of rogue. And I have an Owl.
Vale!
[00:01:06] Speaker B: I am playing Johawk the Gnoll, a champion fighter 4, Bear totem barbarian five.
[00:01:20] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blaggards.
On the final stretch of the voyage by sea from Polb to Kozzem, the five adventurers encounter a thunder and and lightning storm in the dead of night. Halfway between the tiny island of Zirpnil and the massive island realm of Tonwin, their ultimate destination.
Their convoy of two ships is attacked. Rook has a seizure following the channeling of his Great Old One ancestor to frighten away the gigantic tentacled beast.
Zozo successfully mends the North Reach ferry. Initially, after Beleg summons Hadar to little effect, the party is shocked by a tremendous amount of lightning and tentacle damage. Flagon is seemingly struck dead by one of the crackling bolts, and Oldfoot is carried overboard into the bottomless ocean. Then Kaitoa and Zozo hatch a plan to drop Krizblik's extremely volatile cryogenic backpack on the writhing behemoth just as it tears the bow of the fairy clean off.
In the final moment, Kaitoa ruptures the pressure seal by yanking out none other than Goldfang, the gnoll's... Goldfang.
And so the cork is popped to maximum effect.
The Auboatgene is destroyed. The ferry is destroyed. Zozo is rendered unconscious and falls beneath the waves. Rook, barely alive, is rescued by Kaitoa. It is all the party can do to salvage whatever floats now in the frigid dark waters, Beleg catches the owl doctor and finds a life raft in the form of Pompous Pimpernel's mimic chest. With Steve already clinging to the side and paddling towards Kaitoa, who has found a solitary purple rowboat clearly ejected from the sinking noble person's Yacht. And after fashioning his square sail from a floating matted ocean kelp mat and yarn and construct parts. And with Beleg paddling the chest and Rook and Zozo barely alive, the party sail for almost 24 hours to reach the Cliff Bay harbor of Maw. And you've stashed the rowboat under the dock, and you've stashed the mimic chest there and whatever's inside it. And you guys, you're at the top of this switchback staircase, and now you just reach up to of the plateau eye level, and you see a small town.
[00:04:10] Speaker D: Man, I'm pissed that I had to miss that Kraken fight.
Really pissed.
[00:04:16] Speaker C: It wasn't so much a fight as it was us just getting our shit pushed in, losing friends.
[00:04:23] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Well, old foot was a worthy sacrifice.
[00:04:28] Speaker C: He served his purpose.
[00:04:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
Sacrifice to the Kraken God.
What happened to Krizblick?
[00:04:37] Speaker C: So it was decided that Krizblick was - Or the Kriz-bomb - was gonna be put into use. And we - Kaitoa chucked, like, pierced the seal and chucked it into the Kraken's maw. And Kriz-bomb exploded and pretty much took everything else with it.
Although it seems like the Kraken survived. So that's. That's great.
[00:05:04] Speaker D: So it took a nice chunk out of the Kraken, but it survived.
[00:05:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Like, it blew up both boats. It just like eliminated everything in the area. It forced the Kraken to back off and go away. But, yeah, pretty much did everything else in too.
[00:05:21] Speaker A: Oh, really?
[00:05:22] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, we basically got like a lifeboat that was attached to the purple fancy boat.
[00:05:31] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:32] Speaker C: ...rowed our way in.
But like. Oh, dude, like, it's. I think. I'm not sure if Zozo was killed by the Kraken first or hit by the bomb and like semi exploded. But she was. She was down. She was out, like, dying. And Steve got pretty close. I think the closest he's ever been to death.
[00:05:51] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:52] Speaker C: So far. Yeah. I got those down to like 14 hit points or something like that.
[00:05:56] Speaker D: So did Zozo actually die or. She was just close too.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: She had to do like, her death rolls and all that.
[00:06:02] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
Pretty close to.
[00:06:05] Speaker C: Yeah, close enough. As close as anyone's gotten.
[00:06:08] Speaker D: Yeah. Well, I think I would be the only one that's been close. That close, right?
[00:06:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, yeah. You had to do a couple. Couple death rolls too, didn't you?
[00:06:17] Speaker D: Yeah. When I went back to the quartermaster's chambers and they attacked me.
[00:06:21] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:06:22] Speaker D: And I decided to take them all on.
[00:06:26] Speaker C: Yeah, it was like that, except like way more Krizbomb.
[00:06:29] Speaker D: Yeah, that Krizbomb was ready to roll though. So isn't it handy to have?
[00:06:35] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, we made. We made use of it. That's it.
Krizblik is officially gone. Oldfoot is officially gone.
[00:06:46] Speaker D: Has Kaitoa accepted that Krizblik is gone?
[00:06:49] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, I think so.
[00:06:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:54] Speaker C: I think he made his peace before chucking Krizblik into the Kraken.
[00:07:00] Speaker D: I hope so.
[00:07:01] Speaker C: Eh, well, it's too late now.
Either way, shit is gone. Oh man. It was. It was pretty good though. I don't think any of us really expecting that. And then of course, like when.
When we rolled the, the D4 to see what kind of effect it had. Oh, was it ever.
Kaitoa rolled a four, so it was as big as it could ever get.
[00:07:26] Speaker D: That's. Well, that's handy, especially with a Kraken, you know, you kind of want it to be full force and feel.
[00:07:34] Speaker C: Kraken. Yeah, yeah. 100% man.
It was. It definitely, definitely did what it needed to do.
[00:07:42] Speaker D: Yeah. Well, that's good.
So now we're washed up on the shoreline.
[00:07:48] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. We're close to.
Yeah, what's it called? Forget the name.
Close to Maw.
So we're south of Kozzem.
[00:07:59] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, in this moment, Steve and Rook, you know, it's only you peeking over the edge here. And can you roll a quick perception?
[00:08:12] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:08:14] Speaker D: Can I roll arcana?
[00:08:18] Speaker A: You can roll an arcana, rook.
[00:08:21] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:08:23] Speaker C: 16 plus 8 for 22.
[00:08:27] Speaker A: You got 22 and sorry, rook, what was your role? You still trying to find that roll?
[00:08:31] Speaker D: No, I'm just bringing up my sheep.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: We wait for Rook's roll.
[00:08:36] Speaker D: Eighteen.
[00:08:37] Speaker A: Eighteen, okay. Beautiful, Steve.
[00:08:40] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: It's a bright sunny afternoon here and you see four things in your view.
A large covered fisherman's boat area where boats might be stored. Two, you see a large meeting place, like a round sort of tent yurt.
[00:09:01] Speaker D: Almost.
[00:09:03] Speaker A: Three, you see what looks like a flat circular area that this small town is sort of built around.
Four, you see a longhouse, a big open covered area.
Rook, you immediately sense there is a transportation circle there. There is a permanent transportation circle and you can just make it out from here.
What are you doing?
[00:09:33] Speaker D: Can I tell where that station is connected to, like the other end?
[00:09:38] Speaker A: No, you would only know perhaps. Can you roll a quick wisdom wizy? Sure.
And Steve?
[00:09:47] Speaker D: Ooh, not so much 4.
[00:09:49] Speaker A: Ooh, Steve, as you see Rook scratching his. The stubble on his chin as he is really peering into the center of this small Town looking at these six pillars that you also now see contain some sort of a circle. You see fishermen carrying, like, fishing boats. You see them carrying these boats towards you. What are you guys doing?
[00:10:14] Speaker C: They're coming towards us.
[00:10:15] Speaker A: Yes, they're coming towards the zigzag staircase.
[00:10:21] Speaker C: All our stuff is already hidden.
[00:10:24] Speaker A: Yet you guys rolled a group stealth.
[00:10:26] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:10:29] Speaker C: And so the rest of the party is just kind of hanging out.
[00:10:33] Speaker A: They are, it looks like, down, let's say about 60ft.
Maybe 60 to 80ft down there. Zozo looks winded, and Kaitoa, he has taken out his homing stone. And then beside him, Beleg is looking very curiously at that same homing stone. And in that moment, guys, there begins to be some movement in that circle that is only about 500ft away from you.
[00:11:07] Speaker C: Well, I don't know if Steve should be the person to be talking to new strangers.
I'm not the right person to do this.
[00:11:22] Speaker A: Oh, the half elf on the scene.
[00:11:25] Speaker E: Yeah. Where are we? What am I doing?
[00:11:27] Speaker A: You missed a great recap.
You look down at Zozo, who looks totally awful, and Kaitoa looks like he's gotten transfixed again on his homing stone. And you're about 30 to 60 paces behind the half orc, who is much revived, and the young human ranger. As they look along the plateau now, you know, you're up at town level here. They seem to have inspected the town. And there are fishermen. There are fishermen coming towards you. And at the same moment, there is something going on in the center of this town.
[00:12:06] Speaker E: What's.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: What's.
[00:12:07] Speaker E: What's going on?
[00:12:12] Speaker A: There's a strange chanting that is reverberating across the slightly melting tundra here of the island of Tonwyn. And there's not much activity except for these fishermen coming to you.
[00:12:28] Speaker E: What do the townspeople look like?
[00:12:31] Speaker A: They're a mix of sort of surly, salty figures.
There's a swirling of sand. Guys. There's a swirling of sort of unclean debris. And you see all of a sudden a crackling and a fissure in space and time. And you hear this sort of odd chanting starting to reverberate.
[00:12:55] Speaker B: Consequentia. Consequentia.
[00:12:57] Speaker A: And it sounds like the voice of sort of a growling creature.
[00:13:03] Speaker D: Are familiar with this.
[00:13:04] Speaker C: Growl Rod was the language known to us.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: You are not familiar with it. Rook party. You're not familiar with what is being said, but you are familiar with sort of what's going on. You're seeing some sort of transportation take place.
[00:13:25] Speaker E: Transportation, Like a teleportation transportation that's correct.
[00:13:32] Speaker A: Beleg. And all of a sudden you hear this echo sound out.
[00:13:37] Speaker B: Ab e se ad posse valet consequentia.
[00:13:43] Speaker A: And there's an outline of a figure, a medium sized humanoid figure being transformed into reality out of kind of the swirling dust in the middle of this huge circle. It's about 500ft away.
[00:14:00] Speaker E: Fuck. These guys might be able to help us teleport to the Wizard's Guild.
So what does this figure look like?
[00:14:08] Speaker B: This figure looks over 7ft tall.
Not.
[00:14:12] Speaker E: You're not Rob.
[00:14:18] Speaker B: Not exactly humanoid.
You can't really see his skin color because it's covered with fur.
Dirty brown and black fur. The bugbear, as you look up to the head. It is canine in the loosest sense.
[00:14:43] Speaker C: Rah rah.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: He has an underbite with sharp teeth sticking out from under from the bottom of his jaw.
And he has a brown mohawk.
[00:14:56] Speaker E: A mohawk.
[00:14:57] Speaker B: He is a gnoll.
[00:15:00] Speaker E: Beleg reaches for his stone of Far speech and says, hey, is that you?
[00:15:10] Speaker B: I hear it on my stone of first speech, right?
[00:15:14] Speaker A: Yes you do. Correct.
[00:15:18] Speaker E: Oh shit.
[00:15:23] Speaker B: I speak into my stone.
Where are you?
[00:15:29] Speaker E: Hands up.
We're right here, bud.
[00:15:33] Speaker B: I look around for them.
[00:15:36] Speaker A: Okay, can you roll a perception and party first?
[00:15:41] Speaker B: True natural 20.
[00:15:42] Speaker A: Well. Oh boy, can everybody make a stealth roll?
[00:15:47] Speaker B: I have no add to my perception. So flat. It's a 20.
[00:15:51] Speaker A: I mean, isn't that 20 though?
[00:15:53] Speaker C: Mm, always succeeds.
[00:15:56] Speaker A: I just want to see who you see first poking up the top of the zigzag staircase. And you know that clearly goes down to the ocean.
[00:16:06] Speaker D: I rolled a 13 there, Robbo.
[00:16:08] Speaker A: Okay, you are totally seen first there.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: I think rook 16 plus nine for 25.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: Beleg.
[00:16:17] Speaker E: Minus no plus two. 17.
[00:16:21] Speaker A: Okay, yeah. There is a half orc fighter of some type.
New player.
And you see them just stomping up and there are maybe a dozen fishermen with what look like ocean faring fishing canoes.
And other than that, that's what you see. And you have been, I will say, this new player. You feel like you have been hurtling through space and time for it could be weeks.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: I attempt to approach them. I take a couple steps and then I can feel really uneasy in my stomach.
So I crouch down clutching my.
My belly.
[00:17:09] Speaker C: So this guy's 500ft away, is that it?
[00:17:13] Speaker A: That is correct. And you now see him sort of double over and this gnollish warrior with a huge mohawk seems to be in some way in pain and in fact.
Johawk, can I get you to roll 1d4.
[00:17:32] Speaker E: Do we recognize him as Null from.
From Iz Beleg.
[00:17:38] Speaker A: Can you roll history.
[00:17:41] Speaker B: 2 on the D4?
[00:17:43] Speaker D: I'm gonna see him clutching at his belt there. And Rook's gonna take note and put his hand over his Bergen's blade.
[00:17:54] Speaker E: It's a ten for history.
[00:17:56] Speaker A: Okay, Rook, you're going to arm yourself a 10 for history. Well, look meets. It beats it. This looks very similar to the two Gnlish chieftains you slew in the Battle of Polb Plaza.
Remember Faux Hawk and Brohawk?
And it also looks a lot like that Mohawk gnoll that was pursuing you at the.
The little stream as you guys, I.
[00:18:24] Speaker E: Guess is if he replied to my.
I know who it is. He replied to my Stone of Far speech message, so.
[00:18:32] Speaker A: Oh, there is a familial resemblance though, for sure.
[00:18:37] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, we're good.
[00:18:38] Speaker C: We're good.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: Okay. And I'm afraid, I think this is. This could be good for you, Joe Hawk. I'm afraid one of your limbs is encased in the marble transportation circle. And it is your left foot.
[00:18:54] Speaker C: You put his left foot in.
[00:18:56] Speaker B: I take my left foot out.
[00:19:00] Speaker C: Put his left foot in.
[00:19:02] Speaker B: Shake it all over.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Easy, Joe. What are you going to do? And then party. Now, you have certainly noticed that the fishermen, they are surprised.
They're surprised that anything has happened in this circle at the moment. And they begin to dash back towards the sort of the boathouse.
[00:19:19] Speaker C: What are you doing?
[00:19:20] Speaker A: Party. What are you doing, Joe?
[00:19:22] Speaker C: These fishermen, these were the guys that were potentially. Who's doing the chanting? Is there like another group that's doing the chanting?
[00:19:29] Speaker A: Steve, can you roll a wisdom?
[00:19:31] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:19:32] Speaker B: I am still very queasy after that, so I think I'm gonna be groaning and not doing much else for a turn.
[00:19:42] Speaker E: Fuck. Let's attack him while he's down.
[00:19:46] Speaker A: Oh, to be clear, he's. He's not down. He's, I'd say doubled over and he's got one foot encased.
[00:19:53] Speaker E: Yeah, that works. That's down enough for me.
You know how he likes to throw them fingers around.
[00:20:04] Speaker C: Was an enemy in the end. Do we. Do we expect that this guy is going to be as well?
Yes.
[00:20:13] Speaker E: I want that other stone.
[00:20:17] Speaker C: I want what he's got. Enemy or not.
[00:20:20] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: After about six seconds, I'm gonna stand up to my feet and I'm going to try and run it off towards the adventurers.
[00:20:33] Speaker A: Oh, nice. Okay, make a strength roll and. Sorry, Steve, did I catch your wisdom roll?
[00:20:40] Speaker C: Oh, it was not good. It was a 2 plus 2. So for a good 4.
[00:20:46] Speaker B: 16.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: Okay, 16. Strength is not Gonna do it. You are immediately restrained. You have literally been accidentally transported just about a foot and a half too low in one of your lower limbs here.
Ooh. And Steve, you feel like there was that voice echoing. And as you look at the gnoll and as you think back, you sort of think, ah, ah.
It was the gnoll's voice.
[00:21:20] Speaker C: Hmm.
[00:21:21] Speaker B: I'm going to repeat the incantation.
[00:21:24] Speaker D: Is the chanting around us, is it getting any closer? Same distance.
[00:21:30] Speaker A: Say again, Rook.
[00:21:31] Speaker D: I said, is the chanting that we are hearing, is it getting any closer or is it staying the same distance away?
[00:21:38] Speaker A: Well now, Rook, you actually see this, this gnoll who has one foot encased in the marble transportation circle. You see him open his yapping jaw again and he starts to say again those same words. So like it's the gnoll saying these.
[00:21:56] Speaker B: Words, guys, bastard ab esse ad posse. Valid consequentia.
[00:22:05] Speaker A: Oh, wait there, don't say that.
And they're stumbled in a very long thin man with this huge bone broom. Like this broom is as long the shaft of it as it is wide the head of it. And he says again, don't do that.
And he starts brushing away all the dust around you. And he's entered your five foot range there, Joehawk.
[00:22:37] Speaker B: Stop. What are you doing?
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Whoa.
And he sort of darts back. So if you wish you could take an opportunity, attack. And he wields his broom. He kind of brandishes his bone broom at you.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: I hold the hand axe that I'm holding. I, I lift it up threateningly, but I don't attack.
[00:22:57] Speaker A: He looks at the, the hand axe and can you roll an intimidation party.
[00:23:01] Speaker B: You now 21 total.
[00:23:03] Speaker A: Oh boy.
[00:23:04] Speaker C: Oh, damn.
[00:23:05] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: No, no, I mean he does very intimidating jump back. He sort of stumbles over his bone broom handle. He gets all tripped up and now he is prone and about 10ft away from you prone. And then party you now see, and Kaitoa is just cradling Zozo and they seem to be very comfortable there on the stairwell on the stairway. But rest of the party, you now see this gnoll engagement with what looks like a townsperson. And you know you can close the distance and you would be there virtually immediately.
[00:23:40] Speaker C: Or I could borrow, I could borrow Rook's longbow and shoot him from here.
[00:23:46] Speaker A: Ooh, post convoy weapons. Ouchie boy. Remember Oldfoot took that longbow with him.
[00:23:52] Speaker E: Ah, well, that's very truth.
[00:23:59] Speaker D: Can Kaitoa knit us one?
[00:24:02] Speaker E: No, he's asleep.
Beleg is like, is going towards this gnoll because he recognizes him and he, like this Gnoll, needs to die.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: You are within shouting range. And Bela, you know, as you approach, within about, you know, 60ft, you know, you say that under your breath and yet there is a very strange. It looks almost like a custodian type fellow in a huge parka. I mean although spring has come early, it is cold up here in the northern island of Tonwyn. But his hood now has been thrown back and you see they're actually a very, very thin but tall Goliath.
And then the gnoll.
And then the gnoll snarling above him.
[00:24:56] Speaker E: I want to kill the Gnoll.
[00:24:58] Speaker D: Death to all Gnolls.
[00:25:00] Speaker B: I'm just shouting, what is that broom?
[00:25:04] Speaker E: I don't know what that broom is.
[00:25:06] Speaker B: Speak or die. I'm talking to the to the.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: Bone broom.
It's my bone broom for keeping the circle clean.
He's scuttling away and he's grabbed his broom and he's now maybe just out of your biting range there.
Joe.
[00:25:28] Speaker E: How far away am I?
[00:25:29] Speaker C: Am I.
[00:25:30] Speaker A: Can you guys all roll a group intimidation? And Joehawk, can you roll intimidation?
[00:25:38] Speaker B: Not good.
[00:25:42] Speaker E: 18 for Bellak, 8 for Steve.
[00:25:46] Speaker D: That's a 6 for Rook.
[00:25:49] Speaker B: Oh wow.
[00:25:50] Speaker E: I am by far the most intimidating person in this party.
[00:25:56] Speaker A: The huge hulking 350 pound teenage half orc and the gigantic Gnoll warrior are staring at each other. But it is just not all that intimidating, either of you guys and Steve as well. You sit there as Beleg. Can you describe here how you take this gnoll and sort of gain a bit of the upper hand in terms of your presence?
[00:26:22] Speaker E: Well, obviously I grab the stone of Far speech again.
[00:26:25] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:26:26] Speaker E: And I point at him and I speak into it and I say, here's looking at you kid.
And then I wink and then I.
[00:26:34] Speaker B: Move forward, free my leg and we can talk.
[00:26:39] Speaker E: Nope.
And I keep walking forward.
[00:26:47] Speaker C: What is, what is keeping his leg bound?
[00:26:51] Speaker A: It looks like a foot and a half of this marble.
What you all understand to be a transportation circle. A permanent device so we can take this to Kozzem.
[00:27:06] Speaker E: That's what I thought.
[00:27:08] Speaker B: I'm going to say in the name of Old Foot, release me.
[00:27:14] Speaker C: That name doesn't mean much anymore. Sorry.
[00:27:17] Speaker E: Nah, that name is dead.
[00:27:19] Speaker B: Old Foot cannot die. He is Old Foot.
[00:27:22] Speaker E: He is dead.
[00:27:24] Speaker C: Well, he's, he's certainly swimming very, very deep waters right now.
[00:27:29] Speaker B: Then there is no way party, can.
[00:27:34] Speaker A: You roll either persuasion or deception? And Joe, can you roll insight as they bluntly inform you of Oldfoot's fate.
[00:27:46] Speaker B: Six in insight.
[00:27:48] Speaker D: Oh, boy.
[00:27:49] Speaker E: Oh, man, you're having horrendous rolling luck.
[00:27:54] Speaker C: My persuasion is a minus one, but I rolled a 17.
[00:27:59] Speaker A: Well, I mean, you know, as always, you guys can roll whatever you want. In this moment, I'm suggesting that you guys are rolling to essentially tell him bluntly and quickly. However, at the same time, you could intimidate him again. You can do whatever you want, buddy. You can fucking draw a sword and stab him.
[00:28:17] Speaker D: I'm going intimidation.
[00:28:19] Speaker C: You could say he's still alive. Although right now I would say he's living as cracking shit.
[00:28:25] Speaker E: Very literally cracking Shit.
[00:28:28] Speaker D: Ooh. 20. Intimidation. I'm gonna say Old Foot is gone.
God, he was my caddy and he is gone.
[00:28:46] Speaker A: And Joe, you see on this huge back, there is a sort of harness, and there is Old Foot's yellow shield.
Joe, you are somewhat convinced, given the artifact that you see, you know, Oldfoot's shield and all of them exclaiming Oldfoot's name. And then this orc now bluntly shouting in your face, oldfoot's gone. And all of this half orc spittle flies in your furry face.
[00:29:23] Speaker B: I.
I speak into the stone.
Wait, no, you're right there.
[00:29:28] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. How far away am I?
[00:29:31] Speaker A: I like how it's clever how you're, like, radioing him while you can still see him, but, like, you're as close as you want to be. And, you know, you do. Intuit then, Joe, that it is this strange sort of sorcerer, warlock looking fellow who seems to have the other side to your communication device, and I am.
[00:29:49] Speaker E: As close as I can be. I. I saw him and decided to, like, beeline to attack.
[00:29:55] Speaker A: Well, then you guys have all stepped well inside the transportation circle. I mean, this thing is huge.
This transportation circle is almost as large as, like, half a football field. It's 175ft in diameter.
[00:30:10] Speaker C: Sweet.
[00:30:11] Speaker B: I drop my hand. Axe.
[00:30:12] Speaker C: You.
[00:30:13] Speaker E: You drop it.
[00:30:14] Speaker B: Yep, purposely.
[00:30:18] Speaker A: Party. Can everybody roll some sort of intelligence, wisdom or history on this weapon?
[00:30:24] Speaker C: I've seen this before, Steve, I will give you inspiration.
[00:30:27] Speaker A: What do you think this is?
[00:30:29] Speaker C: This is the tomahawk from when we attacked Iz.
[00:30:33] Speaker A: Oh, it makes me so happy.
[00:30:35] Speaker E: Belike rolled out like it was a perception check.
[00:30:38] Speaker C: Okay. And.
[00:30:41] Speaker E: He rolled a seven.
[00:30:43] Speaker C: So.
[00:30:47] Speaker D: Rook, we're going history or perception?
[00:30:52] Speaker A: History. Perception. Wisdom again. I mean, whatever you think applies as this weapon clangs onto the marble ground surface.
[00:31:01] Speaker D: Ooh, I went for history. That's. That's a seven.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: Okay, well, first then with our low rollers, you know, Beleg and Rook, as you look at this, you just can't quite put it together.
However, Steve, yes, it's the tomahawk that you saw wielded not just in Iz, but at the Black Arrow fortress. All the way back. Meta Episode 1. All the Way back, when you and your party, you know, woke up imprisoned under the haze of Red Frog, you know, this is what Ango's shield Guardian armor was always wielding. And as it clangs on the ground, it looks like one forged piece of dark black brown metal. And although there's like a leather wrapping around the handle, it looks like a fearsome heavy weapon.
[00:31:52] Speaker C: It's for. It's for combat. Close combat purposes, I suppose.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, Joe, I will send you in the. In the chat there. I will send you the properties of this. But Steve, you can tell it is essentially a hand axe.
[00:32:08] Speaker B: I surrender.
[00:32:10] Speaker E: What?
[00:32:12] Speaker B: I surrender.
[00:32:15] Speaker E: Well, shit. Now that I've gotta do a lot more role playing than I thought I would have to do.
[00:32:22] Speaker C: Hey, like I said, Oldfoot. Oldfoot really wasn't there to fight us for most of the time after. After that little chase we had.
[00:32:32] Speaker E: I liked Oldfoot. I miss him dearly.
[00:32:36] Speaker D: Yeah, I like my caddy.
[00:32:38] Speaker C: This. This is a gnoll, though.
[00:32:40] Speaker E: Yeah, but he's a new, New age gnoll. He's an old foot gnoll.
He's a lot more cognizant than other Gnolls.
[00:32:47] Speaker C: He's a progressive gnoll.
[00:32:50] Speaker E: He's very, very progressive.
[00:32:54] Speaker C: He's the new generation.
[00:32:57] Speaker D: He's hip. He's with it.
[00:32:59] Speaker E: Is he new Old foot?
[00:33:02] Speaker C: Why are you here?
[00:33:04] Speaker D: You want to hop on my back and be my caddy?
[00:33:09] Speaker B: I came here to avenge my brother.
[00:33:12] Speaker E: Oh.
[00:33:17] Speaker C: Well, Steve, could you roll a charisma?
Never. Good for Steve.
Oh, God, I rolled a four minus one.
Yeah, we killed him.
[00:33:38] Speaker D: I'm gonna ask.
[00:33:39] Speaker C: Although we did kill a lot of gnolls.
[00:33:42] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. Which of the many Gnolls that we killed was your brother?
[00:33:48] Speaker B: His name was Mohawk.
[00:33:52] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah, that was definitely dead.
[00:33:56] Speaker B: I know.
I saw the arrow.
[00:34:01] Speaker E: The arrow? Hey, if it's an arrow, I didn't. I didn't kill him.
[00:34:06] Speaker C: Steve, like, with one hand, flips his poncho over his quiver just to cover.
[00:34:13] Speaker E: It a little bit more?
Wasn't me.
[00:34:18] Speaker B: Do any of them have bows on them?
[00:34:21] Speaker E: Indeed.
[00:34:21] Speaker A: Can you roll a quick perception, Steve? Can you roll a sleight of hand?
[00:34:26] Speaker B: Six.
[00:34:27] Speaker E: Oh, wow.
Jesus, dude.
Some horrendous roars.
[00:34:34] Speaker D: I'm.
[00:34:35] Speaker C: I'm pretty good with this.
[00:34:36] Speaker B: These dice were good to me. When I was fighting, but not much else.
[00:34:41] Speaker A: You know, it's true.
[00:34:42] Speaker C: You.
[00:34:42] Speaker A: You must up during the.
[00:34:46] Speaker B: It was that there's that damn natural 20 at the beginning.
[00:34:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well then, Steve, you said you were just putting your eager shortbow away.
[00:34:59] Speaker C: Yeah. So I rolled a 19 plus 7 for sleight of hand. And I've basically flipped my poncho over my. Over my quiver. And the eager short bow is tracing a line down my leg. So from his point of view, doesn't exist.
[00:35:14] Speaker A: And nice Joe Hawk. These three around you now form a triangle. A triad around.
[00:35:22] Speaker E: I'm still walking towards him is the.
[00:35:26] Speaker A: The custodian. The.
And he is still sort of inching away, but he is actually keenly listening to your conversation. All four of you.
I'm.
[00:35:36] Speaker E: I'm still walking towards for a fight like I beleg. Has been committed for a while now, ever since he saw him to fight this.
[00:35:46] Speaker A: Okay, well, roll initiative.
[00:35:48] Speaker B: All of us.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: Oh, Joe Hawk. Roll initiative, everybody. Roll initiative. Beleg. What do you have?
[00:35:55] Speaker C: Seven.
Seventeen.
[00:35:58] Speaker A: Okay, as Joe, as you say, I surrender and you drop that axe. The ax is now at your feet.
You have moments to react.
What's your role?
[00:36:12] Speaker B: Seven.
[00:36:13] Speaker C: Okay, 22 for Steve.
[00:36:17] Speaker E: Jesus, Steve.
[00:36:19] Speaker C: That's what I do one day.
[00:36:20] Speaker E: I want to be first.
[00:36:22] Speaker B: You can't.
[00:36:22] Speaker C: I won't.
[00:36:23] Speaker E: I can't.
[00:36:23] Speaker B: I won't be.
[00:36:24] Speaker E: I will never be first.
[00:36:26] Speaker A: Only Steve and Kaitoa, man, they gotta roll an advantage.
[00:36:29] Speaker C: You need to dip in that rainbow your life if you want to catch up, you got to do.
[00:36:34] Speaker E: I refuse to dip.
[00:36:37] Speaker C: I could teach you if you want, but.
[00:36:39] Speaker E: Oh, dipping.
[00:36:45] Speaker D: Rook's gonna see that Steven belly have the situation handled. And it's. It's gonna kind of take a step back because I gotta leave you guys. It's one in the morning here and I got to meet in the morning, so.
Oh, is.
[00:37:00] Speaker E: Is Rook going to sleep?
[00:37:04] Speaker C: Done a little kitten circle and falling.
[00:37:06] Speaker E: Asleep on the ground.
[00:37:07] Speaker A: Brandon, thank you so much for making up the stairway. At least. At the very least, we know one thing. Kaitoa and Zozo are going to be in good hands.
[00:37:18] Speaker D: Yeah, well, I'm gonna curl up. And as I curl up, I'm gonna have a nice little purr going on, you know, Gonna be a deep rumble. All right, guys, have a good night. I'll be back on the west coast next Monday, buddy.
Later, guys.
[00:37:34] Speaker C: Have a good one over there, man.
So it's going down, huh?
[00:37:41] Speaker A: As you guys roll initiative. Steve, you're in the pole position. Joe Hawk. I heard a 7 Belle was.
[00:37:51] Speaker E: 17.
[00:37:53] Speaker A: Can be at their mercy there, my furry friend. And Rook right now hangs his head low and you know, he walks back towards the edge of the plateau.
And it seems as if he just walks off the edge. Although, you know, there's a staircase there. He looks very dejected, and you're not sure why, but then off he goes.
[00:38:16] Speaker B: And then I looked. I look dejected too.
[00:38:20] Speaker A: No kidding.
At the moment, you are just not having good luck here. Because as you have transported into this circle, there's been an accident, you know, in the transportation process. And now you are still bound. Now remember, Joe Hawk, the 17 strength didn't do it when you tried to get out of this marble.
Steve, you are up.
[00:38:45] Speaker B: Can I speak freely? As no action.
[00:38:49] Speaker A: You can consume your bonus action. Now, as Steve does something.
[00:38:55] Speaker C: I'm going to slip past and get that axe or tomahawk out of his reach.
[00:39:02] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:39:03] Speaker A: As Beleg is drawing a weapon and advancing. And it was Beleg who initiated initiative, who initiated combat. Steve, you just scoot in there and can you make a dexterity skill check?
[00:39:15] Speaker C: Yep.
That is 14 plus Dex.
Non natural 20 plus 6.
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Okay, you have grabbed it. And anything else in your move, you've only really used probably 5 or 10ft as you sort of do a very nimble move.
[00:39:33] Speaker C: No, I mean, I'm not. I'm not really into attacking them just yet.
[00:39:39] Speaker B: As he moves it, I say, if you're going to kill me, do it with my brother, Zax.
Otherwise I just need help.
[00:39:49] Speaker E: Huh?
Don't make us feel empathetic.
[00:39:55] Speaker C: Like I said, Ulfit became a friend after time.
I'm not used to this, but I am one of chosen.
I want to know more. Why.
Why, like, why did you come here? Wait, how. Like, how did you. Why are you here?
We're not even supposed to be here. We're supposed to be in Chasm.
[00:40:19] Speaker B: Do I recognize KM as a name?
[00:40:23] Speaker A: Yes, when you consulted the not even.
[00:40:26] Speaker C: Supposed to be here today.
[00:40:28] Speaker A: I was gonna say you just stole Dante's line.
[00:40:31] Speaker C: I just ripped that from Dante. I'm sorry.
[00:40:33] Speaker A: You know, Dante's only like. Dante's only like two years older than Steve, eh?
Yes, you should know precisely. There's essentially only one city on this island where the mages reign supreme. It is Kozzem.
[00:40:51] Speaker B: I will tell you all that I need - all that you need.
[00:40:56] Speaker A: Oh boy. Steve, anything else in your movement?
[00:40:59] Speaker C: Well, I'm staying out of close combat range, but I'm not attacking.
[00:41:04] Speaker A: Beleg, you're up.
[00:41:06] Speaker E: How far away am I from Mr. Gnoll?
[00:41:09] Speaker A: You're in his grill. 10ft.
[00:41:12] Speaker E: Ah, well then I attack him.
[00:41:15] Speaker A: Okay, roll on AC.
[00:41:18] Speaker E: Sorry, buddy.
Nope. I take that sorry back.
It's a 14.
[00:41:27] Speaker B: My AC is 15.
[00:41:29] Speaker E: Yep. I didn't. I swung at you. I did not hit you.
[00:41:34] Speaker A: Beleg, can you roll an intimidation?
[00:41:37] Speaker E: Absolutely.
16.
[00:41:43] Speaker A: Okay. And sorry, you said your AC was 15?
[00:41:47] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:41:48] Speaker A: Beleg, as your - are you attacking with the Glaive?
[00:41:53] Speaker E: You know it.
[00:41:54] Speaker A: Yeah. As your glaive swooshes. This is a nimble, battle hardened gnoll, and they don't flinch, but they just kind of turn their cheek away, you know, so that you don't strike them in the face, but instead you take about an inch of the tip of one of their ears off.
[00:42:14] Speaker E: I'll take it.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: Bitch.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: I said do it with the axe.
[00:42:24] Speaker A: Beleg, is there anything else in your move? You have another attack.
[00:42:30] Speaker E: If I'm that close, can I use my bonus action to grab the axe that he dropped?
[00:42:38] Speaker A: Steve already has it.
[00:42:40] Speaker E: Oh, Steve has it already. Okay, see?
Yeah. Then I'll attack again then.
[00:42:45] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:42:49] Speaker E: 17.
[00:42:49] Speaker B: That hits.
[00:42:51] Speaker C: Beleg what are you doing?!
[00:42:54] Speaker E: Eight damage and I'm attacking.
[00:42:58] Speaker A: Eight damage, huh?
And Beleg, can you roll a one D6.
It's time for Torso Choice-O.
Our favorite minigame.
[00:43:10] Speaker E: Two.
[00:43:11] Speaker A: Ooh, do you remember what two? What one and two are.
No, those are arms.
So you have struck him like right through a fleshy part of the left arm.
[00:43:29] Speaker E: Sweet.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Does that disable me in that arm?
[00:43:33] Speaker A: Well, no, you're not looking good. You have one. You have your left leg encased in marble. And now you have this huge glaive blade that has into your bicep and now it retracts and there is a spray of arterial blood.
[00:43:53] Speaker E: Sorry, Steve Beleg's into killing people right now.
[00:43:57] Speaker C: I cast cure wounds.
[00:44:01] Speaker E: Holy shit.
[00:44:02] Speaker A: Okay, Beleg you with the end of your move. Exclaim. Holy shit. Johawk, you are now up.
And you know you have a. You have a full action ahead of you. And you now see the. The Human Ranger boy begin to approach you.
[00:44:19] Speaker B: Is there any way I can try to grab the Glaive?
[00:44:24] Speaker E: Oh, you try.
[00:44:26] Speaker A: Oh boy. Yeah, absolutely.
Contest of dexterity, I would say.
[00:44:31] Speaker B: Damn it Natural too.
[00:44:36] Speaker A: Oh, is it a. It is a. Fruitless.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: I'm not using this die anymore.
Dice jail.
[00:44:47] Speaker E: Yeah, I rolled a 10. If it makes you feel any better. I didn't roll that good either.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: Is there any way I can play it off? Is like trying to bat it away.
[00:44:59] Speaker C: Stop it.
[00:45:01] Speaker A: Come.
Very interesting.
Very, very interesting. Did you say you would you sort of play it off as batting away.
[00:45:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: Interesting. Can you roll a Charisma.
[00:45:21] Speaker B: 7?
[00:45:22] Speaker A: This was a very low D.C. and guys, you get this flash. You get this sort of flash of a cute little puppy.
[00:45:37] Speaker C: He just likes to eat fish.
[00:45:38] Speaker E: He's so cute.
[00:45:41] Speaker C: I like that. Guy's got the peace sign on it.
[00:45:44] Speaker A: But no, I mean beleg, no problem extracting your blade. And there's this plume of claret. <Blood sprays>
[00:45:51] Speaker B: So that would be my action.
[00:45:52] Speaker C: Right.
[00:45:53] Speaker B: So I can't like try to escape the marble.
[00:45:56] Speaker A: You certainly can. That would be a roll on strength.
[00:46:00] Speaker B: That's cocked not as good as I should have taken it.
[00:46:04] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:46:07] Speaker C: Can I. Can I offer inspiration?
[00:46:10] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Well, yes, Steve.
[00:46:11] Speaker E: To the enemy?!
[00:46:13] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm going to.
[00:46:14] Speaker B: So you're gonna let me roll again?
[00:46:17] Speaker C: Why? I passed my inspiration over.
[00:46:19] Speaker B: die gave like three.
[00:46:27] Speaker C: One more for jail.
[00:46:29] Speaker B: I appreciate the gesture.
[00:46:34] Speaker E: Why did you give him inspiration, Steve?
Out of curiosity.
[00:46:38] Speaker C: Because he's not attacking us and he may have information that could help us.
[00:46:44] Speaker A: Okay, Steve, you're up.
You declared that you would actually be approaching him with. Sorry, missed it. Was he healing what ...cure wounds?
[00:46:55] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Okay.
Does that require a willing creature?
[00:47:01] Speaker C: That is a very good question.
[00:47:03] Speaker A: Without even consulting the rules, I would say...
[00:47:05] Speaker C: first of all, it is a touch spell.
[00:47:08] Speaker A: Are you a willing creature, Gnoll warrior?
[00:47:13] Speaker B: I am.
[00:47:15] Speaker A: Steve is approaching with some healing which to the effect of what Steve?
[00:47:21] Speaker C: It is magical healing. I lay my hand on the wound.
[00:47:25] Speaker E: And when I get that feeling. Magical healing. Magical healing.
[00:47:36] Speaker C: So yeah, I cast cure wounds.
[00:47:39] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:47:39] Speaker A: Can you roll up that healing dice?
[00:47:41] Speaker B: Do I know it's magical healing?
[00:47:45] Speaker A: That's what we're about to find out.
[00:47:47] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going to take my unsureness and roll with it.
If you are going to harm me - and I trace a line over my neck - this is quickest.
[00:48:00] Speaker C: Nah, that's not what's bleeding.
Yeah. So the D8 plus three, you get 11 hit points back.
10 hit points. Pardon me. I'm still at full eight plus two.
[00:48:19] Speaker A: To your surprise, Beleg, Steve has achieved this healing move.
Right after you deal the damage. Steve heals the damage.
And you are up in initiative.
[00:48:37] Speaker E: Fuck, Steve. I keep attacking.
[00:48:41] Speaker A: Roll on AC.
[00:48:43] Speaker E: Oh no, it was an under the couch Roll.
Ah, there you go., Steve, I rolled a 12.
[00:48:53] Speaker B: Does not hit.
[00:48:54] Speaker E: I know, okay.
[00:48:56] Speaker B: I just like saying it.
[00:48:58] Speaker A: Have another attack.
[00:49:01] Speaker E: Ooh, that one hits. That's a 23.
[00:49:06] Speaker A: Okay, roll damage.
[00:49:09] Speaker E: Nine plus three. That's a 12.
[00:49:12] Speaker A: A harsh hit there. Can you roll a 1D6?
[00:49:16] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:49:17] Speaker A: Five oh, five is torso.
[00:49:24] Speaker E: Ha.
[00:49:27] Speaker A: Oh boy. Anything else in your move, Beleg?
[00:49:31] Speaker E: Nope. Okay, now I'm pretty focused on killing this guy because I want his Stone of Far Speech.
[00:49:37] Speaker A: And Johawk, you're up.
[00:49:41] Speaker B: I am?
This is a tough one.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: You are both aided and assailed. But one thing is for certain, you know. You remember Trashbone, the gnollish shaman? I mean, this IS the party you sought.
[00:49:59] Speaker B: Okay, I am going...Well, they said that they, That Oldfoot, they liked Oldfoot, right?
Or was that out of character?
[00:50:11] Speaker E: No, I liked. I liked Oldfoot personally. Beleg did.
He was a friend of mine.
[00:50:17] Speaker A: Yeah, Beleg. You say that just after you slice into his torso.
[00:50:24] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, I liked your boss.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: You're gonna have to give us something before this guy takes it all away from you.
[00:50:33] Speaker B: What do you want?
[00:50:35] Speaker C: Look at Beleg.. He's the one who's being an asshole right now.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: I'm looking at Beleg.
[00:50:41] Speaker E: Hey man, I fought him before.
I just want to fight the guy.
[00:50:45] Speaker B: So I'm going to rage as a bonus action.
[00:50:50] Speaker A: Okay?
[00:50:51] Speaker B: And then I'm going to strength check now with advantage to exit.
[00:50:56] Speaker A: Oh, exit the marble. Yes. So roll two D20 take the better. Add your strength and you.
[00:51:02] Speaker B: Yes, 22.
You got a natural 18.
[00:51:06] Speaker A: You are beating the DC.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: Can you tell me.
[00:51:11] Speaker A: Can you tell me how in this moment, just as you and the half elf exchange those words, you are free.
[00:51:20] Speaker B: I slam my arms to the ground and with all of my gnollish might, I wrest my leg from the stone as a part of running backwards. Action.
[00:51:37] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:51:38] Speaker B: I used the weight of myself leaning back on one leg to give me kind of momentum as I exit the marble.
[00:51:49] Speaker A: Beleg and Steve, you see a mighty feat of strength in front of you and you successfully have rested yourself free. Although I will say there is a small anklet around your left leg of this marble.
[00:52:05] Speaker E: Beleg is disappointed.
[00:52:07] Speaker B: Is he in melee or is he or is he reaching me?
[00:52:12] Speaker A: Beleg, are you at 5 or 10?
[00:52:16] Speaker E: That's really up to you. DM.
[00:52:19] Speaker C: He's broken off and moved.
[00:52:22] Speaker A: If Beleg's attacking with the polearm, then.
[00:52:25] Speaker E: I was thinking I was at 5 initially.
[00:52:30] Speaker A: Well then you and Steve and this Gnollish warrior are all within your five foot radius. Five to ten?
[00:52:38] Speaker B: If he's ten feet away, then I'm just gonna move my speed away 40ft.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Okay guys, the gnoll is running!
[00:52:48] Speaker B: Where I'm going...
[00:52:50] Speaker A: You are running... and I'm just gonna pull up Roll 20 real quick.
[00:52:54] Speaker B: I'm gonna go like the south east to put the healer between me and the one with the glade.
[00:53:04] Speaker A: Okay. And at 40ft, you can make it to the innermost circle of this huge transportation circle which is carved into marble. It has like 1 inch recessed lines and runes carved into it. And then. Are you dashing? Because you could go 80?
[00:53:26] Speaker B: Sure, I'll dash.
[00:53:28] Speaker A: Okay. Beleg, if this is what he's doing. And you're gonna be up and Steve, you're gonna be up. Both Steve and Beleg, you can take an opportunity attack as this gnoll leaves your immediate melee range.
[00:53:42] Speaker E: I will.
[00:53:43] Speaker A: I knew you would, buddy. I knew you would.
Are you e-blasting?
[00:53:48] Speaker E: No, I'm using the glaive.
[00:53:50] Speaker C: Okay.
Can I use my action to step in the glaive's way?
[00:53:56] Speaker A: Either a dexterity check or a contest of a sort of a parry maneuver.
[00:54:03] Speaker E: So it's a non natty 20 for me.
[00:54:08] Speaker A: Oh, wow, that's pretty.
[00:54:09] Speaker B: That'll hit me.
[00:54:11] Speaker A: That's gonna hit him. Well, Steve, I'll tell you what. If you give me some flavor, I'll figure out what skill we're gonna use.
[00:54:18] Speaker C: Well, I've still got the axe in hand, so I am going to try and parry the shot.
[00:54:25] Speaker A: Oh, boy.
[00:54:27] Speaker C: It's a hand axe. Is that the.
Is that a strength weapon then?
[00:54:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:54:34] Speaker C: Okay.
Yeah.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: 1D6.
[00:54:37] Speaker C: I'm not super awesome at that.
So to hit him?
[00:54:42] Speaker A: Yeah. No, as you swing this little hand axe. This hand axe is like. It's. It's actually. He's hungry. He's hungry for flesh.
[00:54:51] Speaker C: Well, I'm. I'm not attacking him. I'm attacking the - the attack. Like his glaive. Parrying the glaive.
[00:54:57] Speaker A: I know, I know. It's very strange, isn't it?
[00:54:59] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
There you go.
That's a crit 20.
[00:55:06] Speaker E: Oh. That yellow die deal damage. Oh, boy.
[00:55:18] Speaker C: What's the hand axe? D6.
[00:55:21] Speaker A: Yeah, well Vale, what do we say the hand axe was? Plus one to hit...
[00:55:27] Speaker B: Plus one to hit. Plus one D4 Psychic damage on a hit.
[00:55:32] Speaker E: Oh.
[00:55:33] Speaker A: So roll a D6 and a D4 and then the...
[00:55:38] Speaker C: Any bonus damage that's.
[00:55:40] Speaker A: And then any typical damage Steve would do with a hand axe
[00:55:45] Speaker C: What the.
[00:55:46] Speaker E: Steve, why are you like. Why did you just parry that?
[00:55:49] Speaker C: We, We... There's so many things that we can glean from this guy.
[00:55:56] Speaker E: Yeah.
He doesn't have to be at full health, though. He can have one fucking health and then take his information.
You bastard.
[00:56:06] Speaker C: So that is, I offered this information for free.
Shut up.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: I'm gonna draw my Maul.
[00:56:18] Speaker A: Yes, you can draw your maul.. And that is Steve...a?
[00:56:23] Speaker C: That's 10 plus 3 plus 7.
[00:56:28] Speaker A: Oh, boy.
[00:56:31] Speaker E: 20 damage.
[00:56:32] Speaker C: Yeah, because it critted.
[00:56:34] Speaker E: All right.
[00:56:35] Speaker A: Oh, Steve, can you. You roll a 1D6. A torso...torso.
[00:56:40] Speaker C: God damn it.
[00:56:43] Speaker E: That. That brings me to 20 health.
[00:56:46] Speaker C: That's a three.
[00:56:50] Speaker A: That's a leg. A left leg. So I, I'm afraid, Steve, that this hand axe, you sort of, it thirstily corrects its trajectory away from being a parry right towards Beleg's forearm - but Beleg is nimble - and instead this hand axe almost slips out of your grip and buries itself into Beleg's thigh.
[00:57:18] Speaker C: I didn't mean to do that. No, I didn't mean to do that.
[00:57:22] Speaker E: I'm gonna kill you.
[00:57:26] Speaker A: Can you roll a charisma, Joe?
[00:57:30] Speaker B: Okay, advantage or no?
[00:57:32] Speaker A: I mean, what do you have as a persuasion? Do you have a proficiency in persuasion or just intimidation?
[00:57:38] Speaker B: Just intimidate.
[00:57:40] Speaker A: Just a flat roll, then.
14
Look, Beleg, you're starting to see a real sort of diplomacy from this gnoll.
[00:57:51] Speaker E: Ooh, interesting.
But I still want to hate him.
[00:57:59] Speaker B: Do that one more time and I will avenge my brother.
[00:58:04] Speaker E: The fact that Steve just hit me in the leg makes me want to kill you even more.
Like everything that Steve was trying to do is out the window now because he hit me in the leg with an axe.
[00:58:18] Speaker B: Damn it.
[00:58:20] Speaker E: Sorry, Steve.
That's just called role playing.
[00:58:24] Speaker C: I didn't mean to crit.
Oh, no, I have. I have things that'll fix you up though. I promise. I can make this right.
[00:58:42] Speaker B: We can fix it.
[00:58:42] Speaker C: Whatever you do, I can fix it, I promise.
[00:58:46] Speaker E: Don't worry.
I've heard that before.
All right, Rob, who's up?
[00:58:57] Speaker A: Well, guys, you know, as you are always prone to do in moments like this, sort of half laugh and chortle away, and the hand axe is buried into Beleg's thigh, and sort of, Steve, you retract it back out and the blood just sprays out.
Steve, you parried the blow, deflected into the thigh. And there just is that custodian type, that very thin gaunt looking Goliath fellow. He's finally standing up at the edge of the circle and... Beleg, what are you doing?
[00:59:33] Speaker E: I'm still attacking Joe.
[00:59:36] Speaker A: Okay, run towards him.
[00:59:39] Speaker C: This is ridiculous.
That's all right.
[00:59:43] Speaker E: I rolled a terrible attack roll. I rolled a 10.
[00:59:48] Speaker B: Can you move to me?
Because I am now 85 - 80ft away.
[00:59:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, you dashed the whole way. No, Beleg, he is at the edge of the circle.
[00:59:58] Speaker E: As you run into him.
[01:00:00] Speaker A: Then as you run 60, it makes total sense that your attack fails. And Beleg, in this moment
I would have thrown like.
[01:00:08] Speaker E: Ah, fuck, should have thrown an e-blast.
[01:00:11] Speaker A: Even as you check your strategy and think, ah, should have e-blasted, dust and particles and little bits of dirt and a little bit of sort of ground ice start to pick up inside the circle around your feet. Steve and Beleg, who are still in the circle.
[01:00:34] Speaker C: Let's get out of the circle.
[01:00:38] Speaker E: I'm just. I'm chasing the gnoll man.
[01:00:41] Speaker D: Whoa.
[01:00:41] Speaker A: You better get out of the circle. Don't get infused with whatever's transporting in!
[01:00:50] Speaker C: Let's get the hell out of the circle.
[01:00:52] Speaker A: Okay, you can dash out of the circle towards this foe. And you hear Steve as well exclaim that.
And this custodian, he also is trying now to distance himself even from the outermost pillars of this transportation summoning circle.
[01:01:13] Speaker E: That's. That's what I do.
[01:01:15] Speaker A: Okay, can you make a dexterity saving throw, Beleg?
[01:01:19] Speaker E: Well, that's shitty.
11 Go.
[01:01:22] Speaker A: Can you make a dexterity saving throw, Steve?
[01:01:25] Speaker C: Yes.
That is a 16.
[01:01:29] Speaker B: you said I was at the edge of the circle now, right?
[01:01:32] Speaker A: You have made it out, Joe. And you see Steve, this small poncho ranger like fighter just roll out of the perimeter of the circle. Well, you see this half elf just stumble out and ouch. That's not bad. You're gonna take three damage from all of this like particulate and sand that is ripping through your leg.
17 health.
[01:02:03] Speaker A: Lovely. And you guys are still dealing with one level of exhaustion - you've been paddling.
[01:02:07] Speaker E: Oh, yeah.
[01:02:09] Speaker A: You have been paddling on that mimic chest and that little rowboat for 24 hours at sea. You've not had a long rest. You are pending level nine adventurers.
[01:02:22] Speaker E: Thank goodness. Are we actually, Are we pending level nine?
[01:02:25] Speaker A: You are pending level nine.
[01:02:28] Speaker E: Oh, so exciting.
[01:02:30] Speaker A: And Johawk, as you witness these two figures just make it out of this strange swirling ripple in time and space which you yourself just experienced.
That is where we will have to leave you until the next time on Dungeons and Blaggards. But don't worry, it's just the spiritual end. It's just the halfway point.
[01:02:56] Speaker C: It's the intermission.
[01:02:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
Intermission.
Tune in to the next episode.
[01:04:02] Speaker A: Well, player introductions. Vale. Welcome to the blaggards, honorary blaggard Vale, here playing Joe Hawk the gnoll.
[01:04:11] Speaker B: Aw, thank you. It's nice to be an honorary blaggard.
[01:04:15] Speaker E: I don't like him.
[01:04:17] Speaker B: As troubled as this encounter is...
[01:04:20] Speaker A: Oh, beleg. I didn't get that impression at all. Beleg. Well, you know the funny thing? You really were surprised when there was another voice on the line there.
[01:04:30] Speaker C: God, that was funny.
[01:04:35] Speaker E: you're not Rob.
[01:04:40] Speaker B: So this is what happens behind the scenes.
[01:04:43] Speaker E: It's very uninspiring stuff.
[01:04:47] Speaker C: Yep, pretty much.
[01:04:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:04:50] Speaker E: We're not the most exciting group of people.
[01:04:53] Speaker B: That's okay. Neither am I.
I'm fitting right in, though. Some exciting stuff is about to happen.
[01:05:03] Speaker E: And I'm sorry I keep attacking you. It just feels.
[01:05:06] Speaker B: Oh, no, it's in character. It's fine.
[01:05:08] Speaker E: Yeah, it's very in character.
[01:05:10] Speaker B: I'm going to apologize in advance for what I'm about to do.
[01:05:14] Speaker E: Oh, all right.
I don't like the sounds of that.
[01:05:24] Speaker B: This is gonna be in character
I hope you like being unconscious.
I don't mean to smack talk, but I'm not gonna have mercy
[01:05:42] Speaker E: as long as Steve feels shitty about not attacking this whole time.
[01:05:46] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll see.
[01:05:48] Speaker B: I am wondering what Steve is gonna do when I start attacking.
[01:05:52] Speaker E: Steve hits hard.
Be forewarned.
