Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players.
Tomo.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: I am playing Steve Tehuman, Level 5 Gloomstalker. Ranger Fighter, Level 2, Rogue, Level 1. I have an owl.
[00:00:27] Speaker A: Brandon.
[00:00:29] Speaker C: I am ikirut Puigshlay, Level 8 Blood Hunter, half orc. And I have breast enhancements.
[00:00:39] Speaker A: Brayden.
[00:00:40] Speaker D: Hey. I'm Braden. I play Beleague Degar, half elf. Hexblade warlock, level eight, Eric.
[00:00:48] Speaker E: I'm Eric. I play Dr. Zozo brightfeather, a level eight narakocra artificer.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: And last but not least, Caleb.
[00:00:59] Speaker F: I am the construct, Kaitohe Tata. And I am a level 8 warforged barbarian.
[00:01:11] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards.
[00:01:18] Speaker F: I have a 13.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: Okay. What you do here, Kaitoa, is you bash through Porco's recent repair work and remark that this is not the first time that Kaitoa Tata has crashed through these back doors.
[00:01:44] Speaker F: Yep.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: Parzi, you have now on the heels of Kaitoa bashing through the back door reach the net narrow canalway behind the closely built edifices of Pol. And they're only 120ft away. Going right under the bridge where you had that encounter the kobold ambush is a small vessel. It is one of those torpedo shaped kobold rowing vessels.
[00:02:22] Speaker B: Lots of.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: What do you do?
[00:02:27] Speaker B: How far away?
[00:02:30] Speaker F: Who is it? My turn.
[00:02:31] Speaker A: Well, they are 120ft away. Kaitoa, you are first in initiative.
[00:02:40] Speaker F: I'm gonna sprint.
[00:02:41] Speaker A: Okay. That's 80ft.
[00:02:44] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:02:46] Speaker A: You have now closed the distance and this small vessel, although, oh, you can see with your eagle vision that there are paddles poking out of the side of this thing. Oh boy, they are pushing away. But it is choppy here in this little canal and you're. You're gaining on them. So now they are within 40ft of you, Kaitoa and rest of the party. You've seen Kaitoa dash forward. That's your movement. Anything else?
[00:03:16] Speaker F: Can I see a number of paddles?
[00:03:18] Speaker A: 12.
[00:03:20] Speaker F: Okay, so six dudes, possibly. Or 12.
[00:03:23] Speaker A: Can you roll a history?
[00:03:26] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: And that'll be your minor action.
[00:03:33] Speaker F: It's a one, a two minus one.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: You try to remember back to the island of Bull where you encountered these little vessels before. You try to remember the testimony of a little girl who talked about fleeing the night of Nafrey's escape. And you can't come up with anything new.
[00:03:57] Speaker F: I got that.
Next.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: Steve, you are up with 18.
[00:04:04] Speaker B: Okay, so because of the first round, I've got an additional 10 speed so that puts me at 40. Which means if I sprint I can run 80.
[00:04:16] Speaker D: You can get to Kaitoa?
[00:04:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna try and keep up.
You said 120 away, right?
[00:04:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Okay, well that's nothing I can do right now, so I will. Yeah, I ultra I'll match Kaitoa speed.
[00:04:34] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:04:35] Speaker F: Are you equal with me now?
[00:04:37] Speaker A: Yeah, essentially.
[00:04:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:04:39] Speaker B: I went 80.
[00:04:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Well Steve, as. As you run up, you do gain the distance with Kaitoa. It seems like this little boat is caught in a bit of an eddy as it approaches the. You know, going underneath the bridge there. So you guys are fast approaching even melee range with this little vessel. Anything else in your move, Steve?
[00:05:06] Speaker B: If so, I don't have. I've used up my action. Can I as a.
Was it short action? Fuck this whiskey. God damn it.
Bonus action.
[00:05:19] Speaker A: The official bonus action. And then there's the homebrew free action. Which are things like taunt and shout to your buddy.
[00:05:26] Speaker B: I'm gonna show Kaitoa that I've got my grappling hook and.
[00:05:31] Speaker D: Is that a euphemism?
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll pull my grappling hook out.
But yeah, I've got the grappling hook and I kind of point at the boat. I'm gonna pass through the rope soon.
[00:05:45] Speaker A: Okay, next up, a three way tie between Oldfoot, Beleg and Rook.
[00:05:59] Speaker D: Are we doing a roll off?
[00:06:00] Speaker A: And so can everybody roll their initiative again?
[00:06:04] Speaker D: Are we doing initiative or are we doing like.
[00:06:09] Speaker F: Bonus list. Just a straight D20 roll.
[00:06:13] Speaker A: I like the straight D20. The other way is to see who had the higher natural initiative. But I like the straight D20.
[00:06:20] Speaker D: Yeah, me too. Go for it. Oh, it's a Nat20.
[00:06:25] Speaker A: Whoa.
[00:06:26] Speaker D: I go next.
[00:06:28] Speaker F: Wait.
[00:06:29] Speaker A: Okay, Rook, you have to roll twice. Once for you and once for Oldfoot. Roll off roll. 2d 20s for you and old foot.
[00:06:44] Speaker C: All right. Me 10.
Oldfoot 18.
[00:06:49] Speaker A: Oh shit. Well fuck, that was close. But belak you are in the pole position. You have one the inter initiative challenge.
Okay, so now I mark down the bellic is 14 plus plus rook, you are actually after Oldfoot.
[00:07:11] Speaker D: That's perfect. Oldfoot can hand him weapons before Rook attacks.
[00:07:15] Speaker A: He could suggest weapons.
[00:07:18] Speaker D: I love how Oldfoot is Rook's caddy.
Yeah, you know, I'm looking at the situation Rook, and I think a short sword is the way to go.
[00:07:29] Speaker C: That's only because you're wearing one shoe.
[00:07:31] Speaker F: Yeah, I don't know. Tough wind I'd play the longbow.
[00:07:44] Speaker B: But.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: Like, you are up.
[00:07:47] Speaker D: All right. Bellic's gonna do his new favorite spell and he's gonna dimension door to on top of the boat.
[00:07:56] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:07:58] Speaker A: Whoa.
Is that your.
[00:08:02] Speaker F: Down the rapids.
[00:08:03] Speaker A: Is that your action?
[00:08:05] Speaker D: That is my action.
[00:08:06] Speaker A: Okay. And do you just do it or do you need to roll something for it?
[00:08:12] Speaker D: I just do it.
[00:08:13] Speaker A: Can you describe then the effect as you de and then rematerialize?
[00:08:20] Speaker D: Well, when Steve is trying to signal to Kaitoa at the boat and he's like. He's got his grappling hook. I just look at both of them, wink and appear on the. On the boat.
[00:08:36] Speaker A: Okay. This is a, as you know, catamaran style kind of little torpedo shaped boat. It has one float off to the side on struts. And as you know, because you inspected it all those many weeks ago, the crew sits inside. So what have you done? Are you straddling it? Are you inside it packed in with sardines with 12 kobolds. What?
[00:09:05] Speaker D: So what I. No, no. So what I did was I dimensioned door to the top of the boat.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:09:11] Speaker D: And I grab the sail as a bonus action.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: No sail. Torpedo only oars.
[00:09:20] Speaker D: Well, you said catamaran.
[00:09:22] Speaker F: Catamarans have sails normally catamaran style, just.
[00:09:25] Speaker A: In the sense of like a main body and then one stabilizing pontoon.
[00:09:31] Speaker F: It's a torpedo with like an outrigger.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Do you want me to send you the. Do you want me to send you the picture from those many episodes ago?
[00:09:38] Speaker D: No, I get it now. I just wanted to steer it into the side of the canal.
[00:09:42] Speaker A: I have episode artwork. I'll send it anyways. Okay.
[00:09:45] Speaker D: You can send it to me anyways.
[00:09:46] Speaker B: Because I like it that you can with.
[00:09:49] Speaker D: That's what I'm like. I'm trying to figure out a way to. To send it into the. The side of the canal here so we can all get to it fast.
[00:09:56] Speaker F: You could grab some of the ores and just create a drag to one side.
[00:10:00] Speaker D: Just hold on to ores as they're trying to.
[00:10:04] Speaker F: They're fucking kobolds. They're not that strong. You can overpower them, like, but six.
[00:10:10] Speaker D: Of them are strong.
[00:10:12] Speaker F: You can grab a few and just create a drag.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: If you guys want to check your chat real quick, that is the vessel in question.
[00:10:21] Speaker D: Okay, you know what? Fuck it. I'm going to create bonfire inside.
[00:10:28] Speaker A: Okay. You have definitely. You've dimensioned door onto it.
[00:10:32] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:10:33] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:33] Speaker F: Bonfire is your bonus action.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: And now as a can trip.
[00:10:36] Speaker D: Oh, no. Yeah. You're right. That's. I can't. I can't do that.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: Can you not do the cantrip?
[00:10:41] Speaker D: No, I can't do cantrip.
[00:10:43] Speaker F: Bonus action.
[00:10:43] Speaker D: That's a full action. Thank you, Caleb.
[00:10:45] Speaker A: Okay, so what are you though? Beleg. Your boots are wet. You are straddling the main body or the pontoon body of the vessel?
[00:10:56] Speaker D: The main body.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: Okay. And you hear that sort of wet, guttural snapping and cackling from beneath. Oh, this thing is chalk full of kobolds.
[00:11:09] Speaker D: I just got to prepare myself now. I'm going to. I'm. I'm sitting here waiting. I mean, if they come close to me, I get an opportunity attack. So they can go right off.
[00:11:18] Speaker F: They can't open it.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: Yes, that's true. It's like a clamshell. Okay, Old Foot, you are up. So I will roll for old foot. What he will do. Ow. And he mutters.
Are you wanting a blade to you, Rook?
[00:11:40] Speaker C: Yes.
What's the wind doing?
[00:11:44] Speaker F: Caddy.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Well, can you wield not one, but two blades? Half orc.
[00:11:52] Speaker C: I can.
[00:11:53] Speaker F: Well, what are you.
[00:11:55] Speaker C: What are you reading on the screen?
[00:11:56] Speaker A: You look like you've leveled up recently. Can you wield a heavy weapon and a light weapon?
[00:12:05] Speaker C: I can, sir. You're a big caddy.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: I would equip Bergen's blade and the voltaic machete.
[00:12:12] Speaker C: Let's do it.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: Shing. Shing. Now Oldfoot has one more move and he's going to use his legendary move he loves to do. Ah, fuck. He didn't get to monologue. Okay, you're up.
You're. You're up, Rook. Oh, Rook.
[00:12:33] Speaker C: Am I within striking distance?
[00:12:35] Speaker F: No, you're 120 away.
[00:12:37] Speaker A: Well, yeah, you are. You are seeing that Steve and Kaitoa have closed the distance. You have seen Beleg now materialize and straddle on the main body of this little kobold boat.
[00:12:51] Speaker B: Just Bamf.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: Get running.
[00:12:54] Speaker C: I will. Yeah, I'll dash up. I guess I can dash. I can dash 60ft, right?
[00:12:59] Speaker A: You will dash 60. And you are now on the heels of your party members. Anything else?
[00:13:06] Speaker C: That is all.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: Okay. We are now moving down to Stolas.
[00:13:16] Speaker B: I guess Stolas is going to tumble out of the poncho that is fluttering in the wind behind me as I run and is going to offer the help. Action.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: Okay. There are tiny little portholes in this seafaring vessel and Stolas could certainly mess around at those portholes, but otherwise. Oh, this vessel is closed tighter than a drum.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: I think Stolas is simply Just gonna offer offer aid to Steve for his next attack.
[00:13:55] Speaker A: Okay, so we have a sort of advantage help action held in reserve for Steve. And then we are at our good friend Dr. Zozo.
[00:14:08] Speaker D: Now I'm excited.
[00:14:12] Speaker E: Well, I think I'm gonna take off. I'm gonna start flying.
[00:14:17] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:14:17] Speaker E: And I think I'll do a dash so I can go 100ft.
Yes, yes.
Fly right up, right up to that boat so far.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Seriously close the distance. And from a three dimensional perspective the canals of Polb are very navigable for your Aarakocra form. And how large would you say you are, dear Dr. Zozo?
[00:14:50] Speaker E: I think probably like dwarf size. Maybe like four and a half feet tall. Ah, I don't know what that means for wingspan, but okay, four and a half feet probably.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: And as you close in on the little vessel, you see the other four party members. And now there's only 20ft vertically between you and the little boat. And it's just about to pass under the bridge, guys. So Zozo, as you've closed the distance and it's just about to pass under this, this little bridge, is there anything else in your move?
[00:15:29] Speaker E: No, I don't think I can. There's anything else that I can do that'll be useful.
[00:15:33] Speaker A: We always have the homebrew completely free action which is an interaction of any sort with the environment or your compatriots.
[00:15:45] Speaker F: Can anyone blow up that bridge?
[00:15:49] Speaker E: Try on my next turn. Yeah, I can't with a free action.
[00:15:54] Speaker A: Okay, well Kaitoa, I will say in that moment that you shout up in your loud construct voice.
[00:16:00] Speaker F: Can anyone blow up that bridge?
[00:16:03] Speaker A: Zozo, you hear my free action on my next turn? Exactly. Exactly. And guys, we are now at the bottom of the order where I'm going to act for. For the Kobold rowing team.
[00:16:19] Speaker F: Oh boy, let's hope they went to like a shitty school.
[00:16:24] Speaker A: They are sprinting all of a sudden with the owl familiar messing around.
And with the half elf adding his weight to the vessel, the vessel starts speeding towards the small bridge. And you know, quicker than you guys can believe it is now going under the bridge. And now we are at the top of the order with Kaitoa. You have used your free interaction to indicate to your new party member the owl Aarakocra. They're under the bridge right now, just passing under it. I mean it'll be seconds before they are under the bridge.
[00:17:10] Speaker F: Oh, so they're not past it yet? They're just going under. Entering. Yeah. Okay, and what's their distance from Me? Am I still. What am I 40ft away?
[00:17:21] Speaker A: Exactly 40ft away.
[00:17:24] Speaker F: Yeah.
Fuck.
Let me think for a second.
And Beleg's still riding.
[00:17:35] Speaker A: Is a wild, choppy ride.
[00:17:40] Speaker D: Wait.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: I think the first thing you're gonna do in your move beleg is a dexterity saving throw.
[00:17:45] Speaker D: Oh, I know the first thing I'm gonna do in my move and it's gonna wreck your.
[00:17:51] Speaker F: I don't want to ruin anyone else's.
[00:17:53] Speaker A: Like Beleg's on like this. Like a water log ride at an amusement park. He's just about to go through mystery tunnel.
[00:18:03] Speaker F: Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna move. Take my movement 40ft to be just before the bridge. Then equal with them.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: You are now at the exact point of the stone hewn bridge where you are over the kobold vessel.
[00:18:23] Speaker F: Yep. And I'm gonna jump on top and create some a bit of drag.
[00:18:29] Speaker A: Let's see what part of the vessel you land on. Can you roll an acrobatics or an athletics?
[00:18:36] Speaker F: I'm gonna go with athletics because I.
[00:18:38] Speaker A: Have a plus six. Okay. And this will be your major action.
[00:18:42] Speaker F: 18 plus six.
[00:18:45] Speaker A: Whoa. And can you hold on? Melling.
[00:18:50] Speaker D: Cannonball print. Don't, don't, don't do that.
[00:18:58] Speaker F: Too late, buddy.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Can you roll a 1D4 to see which quarter of the vessel you're gonna hit?
[00:19:09] Speaker F: It's a four.
[00:19:11] Speaker A: That is the tail end. Oh, Belleg. You're about to be catapulted onto the bridge.
[00:19:18] Speaker F: It might work.
[00:19:21] Speaker D: I just feel bad for you.
[00:19:23] Speaker F: No way. I, I, I can't drown, so.
[00:19:26] Speaker D: No, I feel like. Just wait. I feel bad for you.
[00:19:29] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:19:32] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:19:33] Speaker D: What am I doing?
[00:19:33] Speaker A: Rob Beleg. As you pass just under the bridge, there is a huge jolt from behind you. Kaitoa has landed on the back quarter of the vessel. And you being on the front second quarter of the vessel are being catapulted upwards.
Oh, don't smash your watermelon. On the underside of the bridge. Roll a dexterity saving throw.
[00:20:03] Speaker D: Oh, thank goodness. That's a non nat 20.
[00:20:06] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:20:07] Speaker A: Oh boy. I didn't want to look up those stats.
[00:20:10] Speaker D: Nope, nor did I.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: You are awfully deft in your movements. And can you describe.
[00:20:18] Speaker D: Well, I, I can feel the jolt immediately. So I drop down face first into like a push up position. Instead of pushing up, I launch myself forward so that when the the front comes up, I just squeak out of the the way of the bottom of the bridge. If that makes sense.
[00:20:40] Speaker A: Oh, it does, my friend. And the front half of the kobold boat is dashed upon the underside of the stone bridge. It is crumpled and rent and Beleg. Half elf. You are so lucky to dive away from the wreckage.
[00:21:03] Speaker F: Sorry, Beleg.
[00:21:05] Speaker D: Don't apologize, buddy. That's all I had.
[00:21:08] Speaker A: Nate, you are in the water. Beleg. It is cold here in one of the canals leading to the river Polba, the fast flowing river Pulba. Is there anything else at the moment that you would do from a survival perspective?
[00:21:26] Speaker D: Like are we considering this my turn or.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: No, this was. This is your reaction to Kaitoa's move?
[00:21:35] Speaker F: Oh, I don't know if I. I do have a bonus action still.
[00:21:40] Speaker D: Yeah, you don't have to jump off. I'm just saying that I'm just yelling at.
[00:21:44] Speaker F: Yeah, okay. Yeah.
I used my movement and in action.
[00:21:51] Speaker D: Okay, my turn's coming up pretty quick and I'm not. I'm not gonna kill you or anything.
[00:21:56] Speaker F: But I got 90 hit points. I can probably take it.
[00:21:59] Speaker E: You have 90?
[00:21:59] Speaker F: I have 5790 hit points.
[00:22:03] Speaker A: So are you.
[00:22:04] Speaker D: Why did you to battle swinging your axe all the fucking time?
[00:22:08] Speaker F: I just got it.
Just wait.
[00:22:12] Speaker A: Just wait. So are you treading water here, Beleg? What can I assume you're doing?
[00:22:19] Speaker D: I'm treading water back into the edge of the canal.
[00:22:22] Speaker A: Okay. You're trying to find an edge?
[00:22:25] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:22:26] Speaker A: Excellent.
Kaitoa, as you now ride the back quarter of this little vessel. Your turn has concluded and we move to Steve on the little walkway observing this. What's up? All right.
[00:22:45] Speaker B: This boat has been scuttled.
[00:22:47] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: In the midst of a tumult.
[00:22:51] Speaker B: It is. It is no longer getting away from us though.
[00:22:54] Speaker F: Well, the current will take it away.
[00:22:56] Speaker A: It is now it is half submerged, half wrecked.
[00:23:01] Speaker B: Okay. And I'm close enough that I can get up on top of the bridge?
[00:23:06] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:23:07] Speaker B: Okay. Do I have enough time for this? Chuck the. The grappling hook at the boat. Hook it on. Tie off the rope as quickly as I can to the bridge.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. Are you tying it along the back side of the bridge or the front side of the bridge?
[00:23:26] Speaker B: The side that is less likely to break when the boat.
[00:23:32] Speaker A: Okay, so with the current. Very clever. Okay, you do that. Then I will have you roll something for it. What would you like? I would. I would need either a rope tying skill, a dexterity skill.
[00:23:48] Speaker B: This is orgasmically good to throw the grappling hook. I imagine dexterity would do it.
[00:23:55] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:23:58] Speaker B: And then for the rope tying, I imagine survival makes sense. Not working all that.
[00:24:04] Speaker A: Give me one or the other.
[00:24:05] Speaker B: Oh, just in general altogether.
[00:24:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Well, I think My dexterity is better. That's actually the same.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: So. Okay. Yeah.
Okay.
[00:24:20] Speaker B: 17 plus 6 for 23.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: Well, I think the DC was definitely 20 there because, I mean, this is in bullet time. But you have done it. You've managed to lash around to a stable part of the stonework of the bridge and arrest the movement of the boat. So now, in fact, you have the boat. You have caught it like a fish under the bridge, like a little sardine.
[00:24:48] Speaker B: I didn't even need to use my. My advantage.
[00:24:53] Speaker A: Is there anything else you do as now you're in an odd position, Steve, where, you know, you've caught this thing, but actually you can't quite see it. It's exactly at the midpoint under the bridge, you know, surging and bubbling around in the water.
[00:25:13] Speaker B: So that's basically pretty much my action, my movement. I think that's about it for me.
[00:25:19] Speaker A: Okay. Any free action you want to show to anybody what your strategy is, Kill.
[00:25:23] Speaker B: Anything that comes out of it.
[00:25:26] Speaker A: Okay. Next in order is 14 plus plus beleg.
[00:25:34] Speaker D: Oh, so now that Steve has stopped the boat in its tracks, Beleg casts hunger of Hadar on the boat.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:25:52] Speaker B: There may be something in there that.
[00:25:54] Speaker A: We don't want to kill underwater.
[00:25:56] Speaker D: No, no, I was thinking about that as well, but then I also decided that it's a good idea, so I'm doing it.
[00:26:03] Speaker B: What if there's. What if there's good people in there?
[00:26:07] Speaker D: It's happening, and I apologize.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: There's some cold soba noodles, some Slurpee. If you are opening the passageway to the space between stars where Hadar dwells hungry and thirsty for souls from the material plane under this bridge. Beleg Dagar, I need you to pull the trigger. This has a safety on it. Have you released the safety? Are you pulling the trigger?
[00:26:38] Speaker D: You make me feel like I shouldn't.
[00:26:40] Speaker F: But I'm looking for.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: Okay, you do that.
[00:26:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I do it. Yeah, I got. I got a big old smile on my face right now.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: And party like you have experienced once before. There's the travels with the mysterious half elf.
A terrible whispering, slurping sound begins to emanate in a large radius underneath of a bridge. Kaitoa, you are in that.
[00:27:15] Speaker F: I mean that.
[00:27:16] Speaker D: Yeah, I know. That's why I asked. But you can get out.
[00:27:22] Speaker F: Can I?
[00:27:24] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:27:25] Speaker D: I'm not. If I kill you, that'll be hilarious, but I don't want to.
[00:27:35] Speaker F: That'd be a hell of a way to go out.
[00:27:37] Speaker B: He also did. He also did say he was sorry.
[00:27:40] Speaker F: Yeah, I did. No, I get it. And I, I, I think I'm good. I might take some hits, but I'm pretty sure I can dig it.
[00:27:50] Speaker A: Ango, Oldfoot, on the back of half Orc, Rook has drawn two more swords from your adventurers package. Rook. He is now brandishing jewel short swords. Yeah. And as you dash alongside your compatriots, you know now as you know, the dark magic of Beleg is taking place under your feet. You know you're over the bridge. This is happening under the bridge. What are you doing? And you do start to hear now the slurping. And you do start to hear now the scream of a tiny kobold. Lizard folk.
[00:28:35] Speaker C: And outside of that, there's not any other kobolds hanging around?
[00:28:41] Speaker A: No. As you look to the left and to the right, there's the canal surging under the bridge. There are the rooftops. It is early in the morning here and foot traffic hasn't picked up at all. But as far as you can tell, it is just this party in your immediate net.
[00:29:06] Speaker C: I'm going to position myself beside or alongside everybody else, or I guess, well, Oldfoot is brandishing, he's ready to roll. So I'm going to position myself there and wait for the next course of action.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: Okay. Would you say you were at the, you know, trailing mouth of the bridge or the leading mouth of the bridge?
Are you seeing what's happening on the Kaitoa side, the entry side or the exit side?
[00:29:41] Speaker C: I'm gonna say Kaitoa side, the entry.
[00:29:44] Speaker A: Side, and through the darkness, you try to perceive with your extrasensory dark vision, but you cannot penetrate the sphere of Hadar.
Stolas, you are up next.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: I think he's just gonna perch on the bridge and look down at the soba noodles, I guess.
[00:30:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I suppose. Actually, Stolas, can you roll a dexterity saving throw to see if you escaped? And the sphere of Hadar?
[00:30:17] Speaker B: I will do that.
[00:30:18] Speaker A: Because as this was flapping around the tiny little porthole, that kind of seemed like it was all the same moment.
[00:30:26] Speaker F: 20.
Would that not encompass everyone on the bridge as well?
[00:30:31] Speaker A: It's. It's sort of just below your feet.
[00:30:34] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:30:35] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:30:35] Speaker B: Well, that's good.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: Frighteningly close.
[00:30:43] Speaker B: That would be a 5. Can I use inspiration?
[00:30:48] Speaker F: Oh, you have it.
[00:30:49] Speaker D: So, yeah, sure.
[00:30:52] Speaker B: Okay. Thank Fuck. That's a 19.
[00:30:55] Speaker A: Okay. Stolas just managed to swoop out from below the underside of the outgoing side, the outflow side of the canal bridge, escaping the sphere of slurping.
[00:31:14] Speaker D: The sphere of slurp. I like it.
[00:31:17] Speaker F: Hey, Stolas.
[00:31:19] Speaker B: We made it. We're all alive.
[00:31:21] Speaker A: Okay, so, Stolas, standing by.
Then we would be up to our friend. You are also airborne, Dr. Zozo, witnessing the last six seconds of bullet time beneath you. Trapped, it seems now, this vessel beneath the bridge and. Oh, boy, can you roll a 1D4, Dr. Zozo?
[00:31:53] Speaker E: Okay, that's a 2.
[00:31:58] Speaker A: You have heard and you know of the ancient writings and the tales of the feywild and the horrors that they hold back, the eldritch horrors. And you sense that some terrible magic has been unleashed underneath this bridge. You can't quite see it, but, my God, the sound.
[00:32:25] Speaker E: Okay, I think I'm gonna swoop down on the. The far side of the bridge and just kind of wait and see what comes out. See what's going on down there and just. Just kind of wait. See if anybody tries to escape.
[00:32:44] Speaker A: Okay. The outflow side of the bridge.
[00:32:48] Speaker F: Bob for apples.
[00:32:50] Speaker A: Okay. Well, as you swoop down, Bob for apples, you do see an impenetrable black sphere of night nothingness inhabiting the volume beneath this small canal bridge. And you hear. Your keen ears hear the sounds of tiny, screeching, reptilian kobold voices. You know, it seems like there could be a half a dozen little bodies here floating out.
Are you taking mostly an observational poise in your move here, Eric?
[00:33:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:32] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:33:33] Speaker A: Okay. You would also notice that the vessel, the Kobold vessel, seems half destroyed, sinking. And its occupants are definitely drifting out into the water. Those that are alive, they have that.
[00:33:48] Speaker F: On them because of a current. They'll be pulled out of the hunger of Hadar.
[00:33:52] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. But not without terrible consequence.
[00:33:56] Speaker F: Well, they'll take some damage. They'll take at least one hit.
[00:33:59] Speaker A: These guys are squishy.
[00:34:00] Speaker D: Two hits.
[00:34:01] Speaker B: Definitely a kobold's worth of damage.
[00:34:03] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, that was the whole idea when I cast that spell.
[00:34:09] Speaker A: So, Eric, is there anything now you have that sort of that glorious free interaction? Anything. Interact with the environment or your companions?
[00:34:19] Speaker E: I think. I think Zozo's a little taken aback. Just kind of. What is going on here?
I don't think she has a peace of mind.
[00:34:30] Speaker D: Welcome to the group, Zozo.
[00:34:32] Speaker F: What if I signed up for her?
[00:34:34] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:34:34] Speaker E: Yeah, pretty much.
[00:34:36] Speaker A: First we bring you breakfast.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: Then we show you the hunger.
[00:34:44] Speaker D: I may have been flashing my dick.
It might have been a bit of a dick flashing party.
[00:34:49] Speaker A: Yeah, the metaphors are getting very thick here.
[00:34:54] Speaker D: That wasn't even a metaphor.
[00:34:58] Speaker A: The peeping Tom scene was fantastic. Well, it's interesting, Eric, you are actually. It seems like only one of the party members who are on the outflow side of the bridge.
[00:35:11] Speaker F: Well. And there's all this like construct armor that we need that might go floating away.
[00:35:20] Speaker A: Exactly. And then at the end of the order, we have the action of the Kobolds. The Kobolds.
And that, friends and adventurers, is where we will have have to leave you tonight on this episode of Dungeon.
[00:35:43] Speaker D: Very responsible choice you just made, Rob.
[00:35:46] Speaker F: Yeah, I could go on and on.
[00:35:50] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm prepared to go on and on and on too.
[00:36:55] Speaker B: Oh, we got Proton in.
[00:36:58] Speaker D: Yeah.
I don't like him.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: You cut pro. Todd, get the out.
[00:37:07] Speaker F: Don't worry. It's been like how many episodes? And he doesn't like us either.
[00:37:11] Speaker A: We got everybody now.
[00:37:17] Speaker F: Yeah. That was fun.
[00:37:19] Speaker D: That was a good episode. That was a very fun episode.
[00:37:21] Speaker E: Had a great time.
[00:37:23] Speaker D: Yeah. Welcome, Eric. Was that good? Yeah.
[00:37:25] Speaker A: Did you like it?
[00:37:26] Speaker D: Did you like it?
[00:37:28] Speaker E: Mm.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: Well, that was a real three parter. That had three. That had three meaty acts.
[00:37:34] Speaker D: Three beats.
[00:37:36] Speaker F: That was sweet.
[00:37:38] Speaker D: I don't want to wait two weeks.
[00:37:40] Speaker F: Yeah, I don't want to wait.
[00:37:43] Speaker A: What are we doing frequency wise guys? What. What can we say about frequency? Obviously we want to do every two weeks. That is a for sure thing, Eric. Welcome to the fold. Obviously.
[00:37:55] Speaker C: Thanks.
[00:37:56] Speaker A: Yeah, very.
[00:37:57] Speaker D: Caleb, how are you feeling?
[00:37:59] Speaker F: I. I think I'm good for next Monday.
I gotta go up to Nanaimo, but after this session. Yeah, I think I'm. I'm okay playing next Monday if everyone's down next week. Yeah, I'm down if everyone's down.
[00:38:16] Speaker C: Yes, sir.
[00:38:16] Speaker B: Perfect.
[00:38:17] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. Then we'll put it in the calendar and.
[00:38:22] Speaker D: That was a fun episode. I like it.
[00:38:23] Speaker E: I had a lot of fun.
[00:38:24] Speaker F: I can't.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: I can't wait to see what other potions.
[00:38:27] Speaker E: Oh yeah, yeah, I was having.
[00:38:32] Speaker D: I like how you went from st like struggling to carry firebombs. And now we have Zozo.
[00:38:40] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:38:41] Speaker A: I think.
[00:38:44] Speaker D: Devoid of emotion. But I cannot imagine him not being jealous Tomo. Like he's gotta be a little bit jealous. Like this guy comes in and he's throwing. Like he's throwing potions willy nilly. Like, come on.
[00:38:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he stole the upgrade and stole us a story.
[00:39:02] Speaker F: The other thing I can't wait is like, oh, you know Gurm. So let me guess. You made Gurm's crossbow.
[00:39:11] Speaker D: I'm excited for the tell us about.
[00:39:14] Speaker F: You making Gurms badass crossbow.
[00:39:18] Speaker A: Pretty sure.
[00:39:19] Speaker D: Like, I do love that we know his real name.
[00:39:23] Speaker F: Yeah, I love that it's fucking yeah. I'm stoked to see, all of a.
[00:39:28] Speaker B: Sudden, his real name is Graham.
[00:39:30] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly.
Proton.
[00:39:36] Speaker F: Yeah. This is fucking. There's so many, like, sweet avenues.
[00:39:40] Speaker D: So many layers. There are new layers.
[00:39:43] Speaker F: So many, like, we can tie together, plot holes. We can, like, wrap things together and start.
[00:39:49] Speaker B: So many more threads.
[00:39:51] Speaker F: Yeah. And then, like, so many more threads. Yeah.
[00:39:56] Speaker D: Okay, I'm peace enough, guys.
[00:39:58] Speaker F: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:40:03] Speaker D: I was actually. I was whipping up a hero forge bell egg just because, like, even though we play on Discord, I still want to have a miniature.
[00:40:12] Speaker F: Yeah. I want to Kaito a miniature.
[00:40:13] Speaker D: Just. And there's not a single half haircut on Hero4. Just so sad. But there's a slouchy toque, though, so. So I've got this slouchy tooth going on.
[00:40:28] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:40:31] Speaker D: Just for the record, I have, like, a slouchy douchebag hipster tuke.
[00:40:37] Speaker F: Oh, yeah.
[00:40:38] Speaker D: And by I, I mean Belle Egg does okay. It's my little, like, dexterity bonus machine.
[00:40:46] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:40:47] Speaker B: But it's douchey as all hell.
[00:40:49] Speaker F: Yeah, it covers up his bald spot.
[00:40:52] Speaker D: It covers up. Yeah. In the danger room, Steve, you've got.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: An awesome, like, Skrillex haircut is what you have.
[00:40:58] Speaker E: Oh, yeah.
[00:41:01] Speaker D: Skrillex haircut. Been awesome ever.
[00:41:05] Speaker B: You make it work, though.
[00:41:07] Speaker D: I try. Well, yeah, I make it work with this guy's self.
