[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am the dungeon Master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Eric! [00:00:16] Speaker B: I'm Eric and I'm playing Dr. Zozo Brightfeather. She is a level nine Aarakocra artificer potionsmith. Brandon! [00:00:25] Speaker B: I'm Ekurook Punschley. Level nine blood hunter, half orc. Caleb! [00:00:32] Speaker B: I'm a level nine warforged barbarian: Kaitoa Tata. Braeden! [00:00:40] Speaker C: Hey, I'm Braeden. I'm playing half elf, Beleg Dygar, Level 9 hexblade warlock. Tomo! [00:00:50] Speaker B: Hey, I'm playing Steve Tehuman. I am a Gloomstalker Ranger level five, Battle Master Fighter, level three. And I have just a little schmeck of rogue. And I have an Owl. Vale! [00:01:06] Speaker B: I am playing Johawk the Gnoll, a champion fighter 4, Bear totem barbarian five. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. Well, relative calm on this sunlit floor. Floor of one of the brass towers, the eastmost brass tower here in the cliff city of Kozzem. The clouds around you at and above your level. Beleg, oh, that hit of redfrog was what you needed to survive and sustain yourself through the arcane surgery here. Yeah. Incorporating ancient construct parts. [00:02:01] Speaker E: Am I snapping out of it now? [00:02:03] Speaker B: Yes. [00:02:05] Speaker E: Could you please describe to me what my arm looks like? [00:02:11] Speaker B: Have you seen lady in the Water? [00:02:13] Speaker A: I would let Doctor. The doctor with the bedside manner. I would let her describe to you exactly what she's done. [00:02:26] Speaker E: Yes. [00:02:26] Speaker G: So, yeah. [00:02:29] Speaker B: We installed the lodestone in the bone of your arm and then wrapped like the band of construct parts around it and then attached. [00:02:42] Speaker E: I'm gonna roll a quick intelligence check to see how much I'm understanding. [00:02:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:02:49] Speaker D: You should roll a history to see where that arm has been. [00:02:54] Speaker E: Oh, I get all of its memories. I just rolled a 2 minus 1. So everything Zozo is saying is so far over my head right now. Just. [00:03:04] Speaker B: Can you wiggle your fingers? [00:03:05] Speaker G: It's the after effect of the redfrog. [00:03:07] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. I try to wiggle my fingers on my new construct forearm. [00:03:13] Speaker A: You get that digital manipulation. And your arm, your forearm is familiar to you. So, you know, about 2 inches below the elbow is a collar of construct parts. Clearly, there is a ring of metal, but then it transitions into that soft red brown spirit wood. And that spirit wood seems to wrap around and encapsulate your forearm in sort of tendrils that extend right out to the tips of your fingers. [00:03:49] Speaker C: Nice. [00:03:50] Speaker A: Your tattoo on the inner Forearm is intact and the tendrils do not encroach upon its real estate. [00:04:01] Speaker E: So I can still see the tattoo like a little sight glass to my tattoo underneath. [00:04:09] Speaker A: A clever move closer and closer to T'lom Ber and Me. [00:04:19] Speaker E: I gotta say, I've never been so happy to hear that voice. [00:04:24] Speaker A: And you know, you guys see the half elf warlock somewhat restored. [00:04:31] Speaker E: Yay. [00:04:33] Speaker C: Okay, are we getting out of this place or what? [00:04:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:37] Speaker B: Do you need any more healing? [00:04:41] Speaker E: Me? Yeah, he of two hit points and nine temporary hit points. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:46] Speaker C: Okay. [00:04:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I grew up healing draft. [00:04:51] Speaker A: Okay, pass that on to you. [00:04:53] Speaker B: It's four. Let me see. [00:04:55] Speaker D: Also, if Zozo, if you can spare something. I'm at half health. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Okay, so it's 16 healing for belly and then I'll cast cure wounds on kaitoa. That's 11 hit points. [00:05:14] Speaker F: Sweet. [00:05:14] Speaker G: Kaitoa. [00:05:16] Speaker F: So where exactly is the. [00:05:19] Speaker C: The. [00:05:19] Speaker F: The mini cube still up there. [00:05:23] Speaker D: Well, it's like reaching towards Johawk. [00:05:27] Speaker G: I'm backing away so it doesn't fall on me. [00:05:30] Speaker A: Johawk drop down. And Steve, as you look up, you do see the first inch or two. There's a whole foot. And here's the whole five feet of cube coming down. Anybody roll A dexterity saving throw near where the hatch is above. [00:05:49] Speaker G: Well, I can see it. So I get advantage on it, right? [00:05:52] Speaker A: Yep. I feel like Beleg and Zozo probably away. Let's have Rook. Yeah. [00:05:58] Speaker D: Kaitoa. Like I just hit that thing. [00:06:00] Speaker G: So I'm 14. [00:06:02] Speaker A: Kaitoa, Steve, everybody on advantage. Everybody was aware and it comes splooshing down. [00:06:08] Speaker C: First one's a 15. [00:06:10] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, no problem staying with my 15. That's a 24. [00:06:16] Speaker A: Rook just out of the way. Steve also spring out of the way. [00:06:21] Speaker D: All right, 18. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Kaitoa roll out of the way and Johawk 14. 14. That's no DC12 strength saving throw grappled 19 plus 8. [00:06:38] Speaker G: So I'm pretty sure I don't get grappled. [00:06:40] Speaker A: You are splooshed, but you are able to eject from the sploosh. [00:06:46] Speaker G: I curse in gnoll as barely eject from the sploosh. [00:06:51] Speaker E: Usually just eject the sploosh. [00:06:56] Speaker A: The cube. This 5x5 cube smashing down splooshing, but then kind of reforming into its gibbering form. [00:07:09] Speaker C: Are we trying to return this noob to the rube or are we gonna go up? [00:07:16] Speaker F: Yeah, I mean, Steve's like, I guess maybe even trying to communicate with the Beleg. [00:07:22] Speaker E: Takes out a like a sheet of parchment and draws Nube a little map of how to get down to big Rube [00:07:31] Speaker F: fold it and deposit it. [00:07:33] Speaker E: And I'm gonna fold it and then slide it inside of him. [00:07:38] Speaker D: Kaitoa takes note of all the bubbling and tries to do the Morse code of the bubbling. [00:07:47] Speaker A: Okay. [00:07:48] Speaker E: Steam with steam, Toots. [00:07:49] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:07:51] Speaker C: Brayden, no splooshing while you deposit that. [00:07:54] Speaker E: I won't. [00:07:56] Speaker A: Beleg, finally making use of your scholars pack. [00:08:00] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:01] Speaker A: You deposit your note and Kaitoa, you take note of the fast popping. I mean, it is immediate and it is repetitive and very easy to decode. It's hungry. [00:08:21] Speaker D: I have my food tubes that I made for Johawk. [00:08:26] Speaker A: Oh, the rancid meat tubes. [00:08:28] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'll squeeze a little meat tube in him. [00:08:35] Speaker B: Zozo hands arm back to belly and. [00:08:37] Speaker G: Says he's just probably going to stare. Yeah, jealously. [00:08:44] Speaker F: I love meat tubes too. I think Steve's just like assessing the whole situation kind of watching this. [00:08:54] Speaker C: I imagine Joe. I imagine Joe Hawk just being like a little puppy at like Kaitoa's heel. Just wanting a piece of that. Yeah. [00:09:02] Speaker G: Meat. [00:09:02] Speaker C: Rancid meat tube as well. [00:09:04] Speaker D: I just think of bubbles. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Toothpaste. [00:09:08] Speaker G: Yeah. Why are you wasting it on this thing? [00:09:14] Speaker C: You gotta make him do some tricks first. [00:09:17] Speaker A: Johawk, you'll get real food. [00:09:20] Speaker D: We're feeding the gelatinous cube right now. [00:09:24] Speaker A: You'll get flesh. [00:09:26] Speaker C: Don't worry. [00:09:27] Speaker G: That's flesh in there. [00:09:30] Speaker A: And you know, in this moment, the Kaitoa, you absolutely produce a meat cube. And if you are offering it to the cube. But Johawk, in this moment, when you're reminded of. What'd you say, Kaitoa? Real meat or live meat? The party collectively remembers that scene Kaitoa described, you know, a hundred feet below in the opposite tower. [00:09:54] Speaker D: Yeah, there's some shawarma sitting, waiting for you. [00:09:59] Speaker C: I feel like we should all be. [00:10:00] Speaker G: Like, sure it's safe to jump down there? [00:10:04] Speaker C: Kaitoa needs to shoot an arrow with one of his yarns on it. And then we can all be like Kevin McAllister through the tree fort. [00:10:11] Speaker E: Yeah, we have to get to the top of the tower before we can shoot across. [00:10:16] Speaker C: We've got the windows. [00:10:19] Speaker A: I think they were unbreakable. [00:10:20] Speaker E: Yeah, they were like super unbreakable. [00:10:23] Speaker C: Did we try? [00:10:24] Speaker B: We didn't try. We just got that sense. Inspecting them. [00:10:28] Speaker G: Wouldn't it arouse suspicion of everyone that's down there. They could just pluck the arrow off of the ground and we would all fall to our deaths. [00:10:37] Speaker C: Shoot it across to the next tower. [00:10:40] Speaker B: I mean, I can fly, so I can get a. I Can get us a rope across. [00:10:44] Speaker E: I can also cast fly. But yeah. [00:10:47] Speaker F: When I. When I did the. My primeval awareness or my attuned senses. When I was checking out the two humanoids at the top of this tower. Were they familiar? [00:11:01] Speaker A: You employed detect humanoids? [00:11:04] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:11:05] Speaker A: You detected three humanoids in this tower above you. We determined 15 levels above you. [00:11:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:11:16] Speaker A: And that was it. [00:11:18] Speaker D: 15 levels. Holy fuck. [00:11:21] Speaker A: So at level six. [00:11:24] Speaker F: But there wasn't any indication as to whether or not I knew who these humanoids were, what they were. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Can you roll a wisdom or a history, Steve? [00:11:35] Speaker F: I will go for wisdom because I. [00:11:38] Speaker B: Got a little bit better. [00:11:40] Speaker C: I'm gonna try to bust one of these windows if we got the sense that they're unbreakable. But I want to try. [00:11:47] Speaker B: Okay. [00:11:47] Speaker A: And they appear to be a translucent material. Glass or Perspex. The. You know, as you wind up for your hit. I mean clearly you sort of touch it and feel it and it is a strange material. [00:12:06] Speaker C: I'm using my Longsword Bergen's Blade. Some keeping a distance don't do it. [00:12:13] Speaker E: Kind of want to see what happens. [00:12:17] Speaker F: Well Rob, I hope it was a DC15 because I got a 16. [00:12:23] Speaker A: You would divine that the eastern tower here is the Magi's Tower. And by simple arithmetic and just a basic understanding of the situation you've gotten yourself into. You know. Could it be that these are the other three mages of the Mages Guild, the Brass Council of which Rube is the fourth. That's what you would think of that. Perhaps it's them. [00:12:58] Speaker E: Beleg writes another note asking if we've got much to worry about as we go up the tower. [00:13:06] Speaker A: To Nube the cube. [00:13:08] Speaker E: Yep. What kind of danger are we looking at Nube? [00:13:11] Speaker A: you deposit the scroll in and it is immediately consumed. You know the scroll, the paper. All of it acidifies and is eaten. And there's a voracious popping. [00:13:28] Speaker E: I look to Kaitoa. [00:13:29] Speaker D: Yeah. Do I translate that? [00:13:32] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:13:33] Speaker A: It's so hungry. [00:13:36] Speaker C: More flesh. [00:13:38] Speaker A: It knows nothing about the question. [00:13:42] Speaker E: Alright. There are chickens down below. [00:13:46] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:13:48] Speaker A: Like Kaitoa You get this sense that this thing has been trapped there and knows nothing at all about the outside world beyond this sequestered level of the Brass Tower. [00:14:05] Speaker B: So I guess our options are either keep going and then we have to go up through like 14 more of these rooms and then there's gonna be three high mages at the top. [00:14:15] Speaker D: So. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Or we go back in and make friends with Rube who can get us. [00:14:19] Speaker G: Anywhere there is some swordsman waiting above us. I'm sure. [00:14:26] Speaker D: Let's feed it some gorp [00:14:29] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:14:29] Speaker E: Sounds like he got cut off from Rube, but does not have all of Rube's knowledge. [00:14:35] Speaker A: When you say gorp and like indicate even slightly towards Steve, the cube lunges at Steve's gorp pouch. [00:14:46] Speaker C: No, no, no, no, no, no. It sounds like he only knows like really that level. [00:14:53] Speaker E: Yeah, I think he's got a very rubimentary knowledge [00:15:00] Speaker F: Steve used like a gorp trail to. To bring the cube down to the. [00:15:05] Speaker C: Larger cube to the chickens. [00:15:08] Speaker A: Yes, I suppose that would be. [00:15:11] Speaker C: Ooh, piece of candy. [00:15:13] Speaker G: I'm on board with the. [00:15:15] Speaker A: Okay, how about would I be able. [00:15:17] Speaker F: To transfer that somehow into animal handling? [00:15:20] Speaker A: Oh yeah, sure. Leverage that. [00:15:23] Speaker G: You want this? [00:15:24] Speaker F: You want this? Good, good gorp, little buddy. Come on, buddy. [00:15:28] Speaker A: And all the trap doors are open. And if you do party, you know, leave this level. You go down to the non windowed floor, then a windowed floor and then Rube's level. Yeah, I. Yeah. [00:15:45] Speaker F: I want to see what happens. We rejoin baby Rube to Bomber. [00:15:51] Speaker A: So Steve would have to be really making that gorp trail work. But you know, so far it's working. Did you roll the deception or answer Animal Handling? [00:16:01] Speaker F: Yeah, I'm wondering if I can roll it again. If I can use my primeval awareness. Ah, no, it's beasts. Would it be considered a beast? [00:16:11] Speaker A: Let me pull that up. Rook. Did you hit the window? Did you hit the window? [00:16:16] Speaker C: Hit the window! Bergen's blade. [00:16:18] Speaker A: Okay. Kaitoa didn't stop you like Kaitoa. I remembered you calling out don't hit the window. But it happened. That was already swinging - there is a huge gong. Rook, as you see the party making to go down and party. I'll have you tell me what your marching order is in here real quick. Rook, you see all of those figures from the noontime room in the other tower? Look directly up at the level that the party is on. [00:16:54] Speaker D: Oh, we just rang a bell. Yeah, we're fucked. [00:16:59] Speaker G: Get to the floor without the windows running to drop down into the lower level. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Okay, Joe Hawk. Steve is obviously first, so here's what I have. Steve Noob Johawk. Rook must be last. Kaitoa witnessed Rook being last and advising him against doing that. And that puts the bird and Beleg. [00:17:28] Speaker E: I did state in character that I wanted to see how Rook banging the window played out. [00:17:34] Speaker A: So, okay, so you're back there with Kaitoa at the hatch. [00:17:37] Speaker E: Yeah, it worked out wonderfully. [00:17:41] Speaker B: Zozo scoops up some more of those the broken construct parts. [00:17:45] Speaker A: She leaves the room You've added another two to three pounds of construct parts. Rook, what do you do? You then are just last to act here on this level. You have about two dozen eyes looking directly up at you from about 120ft away and down. And you see that goat is still there. [00:18:18] Speaker C: I'm gonna slowly back away and follow the rest of the group and Rook. [00:18:26] Speaker A: Okay, now you are away from the window as the other four party members plus Noob are descending down through the levels of the eastern Brass tower. [00:18:37] Speaker F: I think Steve's more interested in getting this cube out of there. [00:18:43] Speaker E: Yeah, definitely focused on the cube's journey now. [00:18:47] Speaker A: D Nube, Johawk, Beleg. And then you have Kaitoa and Rook last through. You're now down to that very bottom level. And there is the shovel construct. And there is. Is Rube as you peer down into that dark level, silent and in that inert state that you left them in. You know, sort of solidified. Not so jellified and wobbly. Oh, and dark. Remember, not luminescent. [00:19:24] Speaker F: Is the. Is the new brute still luminescent? [00:19:33] Speaker A: And it's squishing after you, Steve. Come on, buddy. Along the gorp trail, I'm going to. [00:19:42] Speaker F: Lead Nube to the cube. [00:19:45] Speaker A: Can you describe exactly how you, you know, nurture and coax the quite bright olive green, luminescent 5x5 cube towards the huge 15x15 cube that's dormant along the perimeter of this darkened floor? [00:20:09] Speaker E: Stick cucumbers in there and make pickles? [00:20:14] Speaker F: Yeah, I'm just using the gorp to make this little like breadcrumb trail that leads directly to the big cube. And I figure by now, after all these levels, I understand what pieces of the gorp get better attention than others. So I'm saving the sweetest bits of gorp for this one last push towards the big cube. [00:20:43] Speaker C: The berries. [00:20:45] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:20:46] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, it's totally the berries from the outskirts of Polb and the little bits of old dried Babaya from the island of Bul. And you're able then to sort of coax it towards the now illuminating cube. Now the large cube begins to rustle and jellify. And all of a sudden you see a joining of the little cube into the big cube. [00:21:18] Speaker F: It found his mom. [00:21:20] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:21:24] Speaker F: All right, Rube. [00:21:25] Speaker E: Welcome to Dungeons and Blaggards does Finding Nemo. [00:21:32] Speaker F: Quid pro quo. Let's get to the top of this tower here, Rube. [00:21:36] Speaker C: Come on. [00:21:38] Speaker A: Everybody. Roll. Initiative. [00:21:44] Speaker C: The cube. [00:21:45] Speaker E: What the fuck, Steve? [00:21:47] Speaker F: I killed us all. I'm sorry. [00:21:52] Speaker G: 13 Initiative. [00:21:54] Speaker A: And the cube gains But a foot around it and is absolutely pressing against the floor and the ceiling towards the party. [00:22:07] Speaker E: Got a non natural 20. [00:22:10] Speaker F: Steve has a 22. [00:22:12] Speaker B: Zozo has 13. [00:22:14] Speaker C: That's a 14 for rookie Johawk, Kaitoa? [00:22:18] Speaker G: 15. [00:22:19] Speaker F: Kaitoa is an 18 and Stolas is a 12. [00:22:26] Speaker C: Okay. [00:22:27] Speaker A: Oh man. That is a 9 minus 4. [00:22:33] Speaker B: Yes. [00:22:34] Speaker D: The entire party strikes and you. [00:22:39] Speaker E: So we might never even know if this cube was malicious. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Yeah, the cube is ferocious and animated and lunging towards you. And at the top of the order is Steve. [00:22:53] Speaker G: Everyone. [00:22:55] Speaker A: Steve plus everyone. Everyone. [00:23:01] Speaker C: Maybe it took over Rube. [00:23:02] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:23:03] Speaker F: All right, so this, this thing is now aggressive. [00:23:09] Speaker C: It probably wasn't me hitting the window. [00:23:11] Speaker B: I think maybe it got hungry. It got nube's hunger. [00:23:15] Speaker F: Alright. I was hoping for a different situation, but I guess this is gonna have to be the way it is. Alright, how far away is it right now? [00:23:27] Speaker A: You guys, as you dropped in are approximately 10ft away. [00:23:35] Speaker F: I guess if this is. If this is aggressive, I'm gonna move back to make dos cube and then chuck some daggers at it. [00:23:45] Speaker A: You dash back out of the cone of light coming from the trapdoor hatch. [00:23:51] Speaker F: Above and I'm going to hit it with some hunter's mark. That is a 15. [00:24:03] Speaker A: That hits. [00:24:05] Speaker C: All right. [00:24:07] Speaker F: So that's 18 plus 10 for 28. Second attack is a natural 20. [00:24:17] Speaker E: Oh no. [00:24:20] Speaker F: 9 plus 4 for 13, plus 3 for 16, plus 10 for 26. [00:24:27] Speaker A: Okay. Another heavy damage - throwing spikes. [00:24:32] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:24:33] Speaker F: And then my last attack of the first round doesn't do very well. Nine plus three 12. [00:24:41] Speaker A: That hits. [00:24:42] Speaker C: All right. [00:24:44] Speaker F: And that is a four plus three for seven plus 10 for 17. [00:24:53] Speaker A: All three daggers, you know, shoot in to this gelatinous cube and you have definitely checked its advance. Anything else in your move? [00:25:07] Speaker F: No, I moved. Did my bonus for the marks and did my attack. So yeah, as long as I move back, that's good for me. [00:25:17] Speaker A: Beleg you're up. [00:25:19] Speaker E: Beleg writes another note down saying, we mean you no harm. We're here to help you. calm the fuck down. And then crumples it up and throws it at the cube. [00:25:32] Speaker A: That sounds like an interaction. Minor action. [00:25:36] Speaker E: Yeah, I'd want to do it first. [00:25:39] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Roll, roll to hit the cube. Whatever you'd add to a normal attack. Roll with the scroll. [00:25:49] Speaker E: That'll be 13. [00:25:51] Speaker A: You launch the scroll at the cube. [00:25:55] Speaker E: Does it absorb? [00:25:57] Speaker A: It does. [00:25:58] Speaker F: Does it consume? [00:26:00] Speaker A: It does. [00:26:01] Speaker C: Does it beep? [00:26:03] Speaker A: It pops voraciously. And the scroll is consumed in that acidic wisp. [00:26:16] Speaker D: Can I interpret that thought? [00:26:19] Speaker A: Oh yes. Yum, yum. Yeah. Yeah. Kaitoa you look towards the party and you sort of you voice to them like Nom Nom. [00:26:32] Speaker D: It's hungry. [00:26:34] Speaker E: That doesn't help at all. You want more food, Johawk, go step inside. [00:26:42] Speaker C: Oh, I can send to my unseen servant. [00:26:47] Speaker E: Consume magic. [00:26:50] Speaker D: It just wants food. [00:26:52] Speaker E: Does it do anything? If I hold out the candelabra, can. [00:26:56] Speaker C: We throw more flesh at it? Rancid flesh. [00:27:01] Speaker E: I don't have any. All I have are things to attack it with. [00:27:04] Speaker B: What happened to all the fish and stuff that came with us? [00:27:07] Speaker A: Most of your barrels were disintegrated and did not transport with you into Rube's chamber initially. [00:27:17] Speaker B: Okay. [00:27:18] Speaker D: I would feed every meat tube into this thing. [00:27:23] Speaker E: Don't want to attack it, though. [00:27:29] Speaker A: You are next in initiative, which is fairly appropriate. [00:27:34] Speaker E: Okay, I'll use my action to throw the candelabra at it. [00:27:39] Speaker A: Throw the candelabra back into it. Can you make a persuasion roll? [00:27:45] Speaker G: Persuasion? [00:27:45] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:27:46] Speaker A: Yeah, that'll be your action. [00:27:49] Speaker E: I'm gonna make an inspired persuasion roll. 13 plus 3. [00:27:54] Speaker A: 16 burning that inspo. [00:27:56] Speaker E: Got one of them. I had two. [00:27:58] Speaker A: Okay. Getting over 15 with this. The candelabra is received and immediately transported right into the middle of this huge cube that is constrained even by the dimensions of the floor of the brass tower here. And it does seem to mollify ever so slightly. Beleg there is a hint of the lessening of the aggression. [00:28:34] Speaker F: Cool. [00:28:35] Speaker A: Kaitoa, you are up. [00:28:39] Speaker B: Use your crossbow arm to fire meat tubes into it. [00:28:42] Speaker D: Yeah, I like. Slowly you will pump a meat tube into it. And also like. [00:28:53] Speaker A: The communication back. What are you communicating in morose code? [00:28:59] Speaker D: Friendly. Yeah, just friendly. [00:29:05] Speaker A: A gentle approach. [00:29:06] Speaker C: Okay. [00:29:08] Speaker A: A gentle approach. [00:29:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:11] Speaker A: In that case, I do like the animal handling angle. So let's roll a quick animal handling. [00:29:17] Speaker C: All right. [00:29:18] Speaker A: If you're coming close with this sort of meat tube offer. [00:29:24] Speaker F: Hey, if we get out of this, can we take the cube with us? [00:29:28] Speaker D: Yeah. Is it Cubelik? [00:29:32] Speaker A: Oh, nice. Okay, well, Kaitoa, you're offering. [00:29:37] Speaker F: Can we have Stanley Kubelik, please? [00:29:46] Speaker A: Kaitoa, your offering continues that lessening of aggression. And those meat tubes are consumed frighteningly quickly, you know, acidified right away. [00:30:03] Speaker C: And it's gone. [00:30:06] Speaker F: Yes. [00:30:07] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, you just transfer that money over and it's gone. [00:30:11] Speaker F: And it's gone. [00:30:16] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. You want to transfer some money over and it's gone. [00:30:20] Speaker A: Kaitoa, anything else in your move? [00:30:26] Speaker D: I would show the, like, I'd reach my arm in with the twin towers broach. [00:30:33] Speaker A: Oh, the brass towers broach from the Emissary brooch. Okay. Make a DC12 grapple check. 10. Both the brooch and your forearm are grappled by the cube. And that concludes your move. Yeah. You're up, Johawk. [00:30:58] Speaker G: I don't think I ever went down into Rube's area. [00:31:03] Speaker A: No, not necessarily. [00:31:04] Speaker G: I heard the gong, right? [00:31:08] Speaker A: Correct. That was Rook's long sword banging and clanging off the Perspex window. [00:31:16] Speaker G: I'm just taking cover in the room that doesn't have any windows. [00:31:21] Speaker A: Rube's room or the one two above. [00:31:23] Speaker G: The two above. [00:31:25] Speaker A: Okay. Then you're not in combat. Nope. [00:31:29] Speaker G: I'd be taking this opportunity to switch into my heavy armor to get into. [00:31:35] Speaker A: A heavier armor is. It's got to be an action. I think. Gotta be an action. [00:31:41] Speaker F: I think it'd be more than an action. [00:31:43] Speaker E: Heavy armor takes 10 minutes to dawn. [00:31:47] Speaker G: So I'm taking this time to switch. [00:31:49] Speaker A: Into my armor in the darkened chamber 2 above. And you guys, you know will recall that this edifice alternates between windowed levels and non window levels. That that's what you're doing, Johawk. And we'll give you grace that perhaps for the first since you stopped on that level. You've probably already eaten into a little bit of that 10 minutes. But boy in combat time. I mean that's like 60 rounds. [00:32:17] Speaker G: Will be keeping my weapons close to me. I'll be running with the flail. [00:32:23] Speaker E: Well hear from you again in about three sessions. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Yeah. It's like the definition of caught with your pants down. [00:32:34] Speaker G: Guys. I'm putting on armor. Don't do anything stupid. [00:32:39] Speaker E: Don't look. I'm naked. [00:32:42] Speaker A: So. Johawk. 14. [00:32:44] Speaker C: Rook. Well, it looks like Kaitoa's got himself a little pet there. Should we. Are we gonna continue attacking it or what do you guys want to do? [00:32:56] Speaker B: I think we're calming it down. Seems like we've been fairly successful so far. [00:33:02] Speaker E: Probably think Steve is an asshole though. [00:33:06] Speaker F: Steve is an asshole. [00:33:10] Speaker C: Well, yeah. Rook's not very good at calming situations down as we all know. [00:33:17] Speaker B: Try to help pull Kaitoa out. [00:33:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I can do that. All right. I'm gonna grab Kaitoa's arm and or by the shoulders. And I'm going to tug. tug a lug. [00:33:30] Speaker A: strength check. [00:33:32] Speaker C: That's an 18. [00:33:34] Speaker A: That'll do it. And he is released. [00:33:42] Speaker C: All right. Well, let's see. Oh, there you go. Now you and your pet can get yourselves reacquainted. Now where is that Johawk? [00:33:51] Speaker G: I'm up here. [00:33:55] Speaker A: You hear the booming voice of Johawk. It must be two hatches up. [00:34:00] Speaker C: What the heck are you doing up there? [00:34:02] Speaker G: I don't like the fact that there was a noise, the wizards might be on to us. [00:34:07] Speaker C: So you staying up there to protect us? I like it. [00:34:13] Speaker A: Myself. [00:34:13] Speaker G: I don't want anything flying through a window at me. [00:34:17] Speaker D: The wizards are listening to everything right now. [00:34:22] Speaker C: Yeah. We're not saying anything bad about him. [00:34:25] Speaker B: I love wizards. [00:34:26] Speaker G: Lots of bad things to say about them. [00:34:30] Speaker E: Yes. [00:34:31] Speaker A: Beleg, you hear, you know, Kaitoa, make the astute observation of, you know, observance or scrying. Arcane eavesdropping. But you're, you're not up for a little bit. Then we have Zozo. Rook, after you would exclaim that. Anything else in your move, Rook? [00:34:52] Speaker C: Not this moment. [00:34:53] Speaker A: No unseen servant. Just chilling. [00:34:57] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, dude on the couch. [00:34:59] Speaker A: All right. What level? Down with you, Rube level. Sunlit level or gnoll level? [00:35:08] Speaker C: I'm leaving him at the Gnoll level to keep an eye on Johawk. [00:35:13] Speaker B: Okay. [00:35:14] Speaker A: Just chillin in the dark. [00:35:16] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:17] Speaker B: And watching him change. [00:35:19] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:35:19] Speaker A: What a fucking creep. [00:35:21] Speaker G: Wow. [00:35:24] Speaker A: Oh, you can't see it, though. [00:35:27] Speaker C: You can't see it. [00:35:28] Speaker G: It's even creepier. [00:35:31] Speaker A: So Dr. Zozo, you are up. [00:35:36] Speaker G: Okay. I step into the. The beam of light coming from the. The trapdoor above, and I hold up Rube's reactionary rod. I. I say, if you want the rod, you're gonna have to calm down and talk to us. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:52] Speaker C: Finally. [00:35:52] Speaker A: Like to roll Persuasion or. [00:35:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I think Persuasion. [00:35:57] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:57] Speaker A: Yeah, feels like. [00:35:59] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:36:00] Speaker B: That's 15 plus 5. [00:36:02] Speaker C: 20. [00:36:03] Speaker A: Ah. You strike a pose right in the spotlight, and this unadorned rod glints in your feathered talons. There's a, again, mollification of the aggressiveness and a popping. [00:36:25] Speaker F: Kaitoa? [00:36:27] Speaker D: Yeah? [00:36:27] Speaker B: Translate it. [00:36:29] Speaker A: Now, the popping indicates more of an SOS, More of that feeling that you felt before of, you know, some creature humiliated or trapped, you know, in some way. There's sort of an SOS coming now. [00:36:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:49] Speaker A: Dr. Zozo, you've gotten the kind of the nod from Kaitoa, like. Yeah. [00:36:56] Speaker B: What do you guys think? Should I give it the rod? [00:36:59] Speaker E: I wouldn't say no. [00:36:59] Speaker F: Give it the stick. Don't give it the stick. [00:37:04] Speaker C: Oh. Or should we. [00:37:06] Speaker B: Should we try to make a deal first? [00:37:08] Speaker E: That's up to Zozo. [00:37:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:37:11] Speaker B: Okay. What do we want from Rube? [00:37:13] Speaker C: We want to. [00:37:14] Speaker E: I would assume if it's a High Magi, then we want to be on its side more than anything else. [00:37:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:22] Speaker F: I really want a Stanley Kubelik. [00:37:25] Speaker C: All right. [00:37:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:26] Speaker B: I walk up and I hold the Rod out for it. [00:37:32] Speaker A: Can you make a DC12 grapple check. [00:37:37] Speaker B: Okay, I'm gonna do an inspiration because I rolled a four. [00:37:43] Speaker A: You want that arm back. [00:37:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I got an 18 that time. [00:37:48] Speaker A: First, you were very concerned that your feathered arm would be taken along with the rod. But as you deposit the rod into the jelly gelatinous surface, it is consumed and travels right into the middle of the cube and starts to rotate. It seems to be starting to spin around in the middle of the cube and it's creating sort of some gelatinous bubbles in there. And that is all at the moment. Anything else in your move? [00:38:30] Speaker B: Nope, I think that's all. I'll take a step back. [00:38:33] Speaker A: How far back? [00:38:36] Speaker B: Like 10ft. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Okay. Rest of the party. You see just that. Rod starts to spin. Bottom of the order. Stolas, you're up. [00:38:50] Speaker F: Gosh, what can I do with Stolas? I think Stolas is just hanging out. There's not really much you can do. Yeah, I think it's just gonna wait and see what happens with this cube. Obviously, give it its space. I don't want Stolas in there, but maybe, maybe do a little, like, poop in the cube. [00:39:13] Speaker A: Poop in the cube. The poop in the cube for no reason. Poop in the cube. [00:39:24] Speaker E: It might eat it and like it. [00:39:26] Speaker F: Yeah, you don't know. Okay, poop the cube. [00:39:34] Speaker A: Anybody who does anything with the cube next has advantage. Owl swoops past. What does this owl eat? It's always got something in those loose bowels. Right into the cube. Just a little shot. It is finally, the cube's... and on deck: Steve, 22. Beleg 20. Kaitoa, 18. [00:40:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:40:06] Speaker A: And then Joe, Rook, Zozo Stolas. and finally Rube the Cube spins that rod. And as the party looks on and the tiny bit of excrement from the owl travels as well into the cube, there begins to be an ominous sound. Johawk, you can feel it from a level below you. And party, you can hear it from a level above you. It's like a knocking. [00:40:50] Speaker C: I'm going for my bow. [00:40:55] Speaker A: And that, friends and adventurers, is where we will have to leave you. Until the next time on Dungeons and Blaggards. [00:42:14] Speaker E: Ominous. I got two hands again. I got two hands again. [00:42:22] Speaker C: Everybody's got their arms again. [00:42:25] Speaker E: I'm satisfied with that. [00:42:27] Speaker B: I'm kind of jealous I didn't lose an arm. They both got cool new ones. [00:42:32] Speaker F: Wait, do you have wings and arms or are your arms wings? [00:42:36] Speaker B: My arms are wings, so that would. Yeah, no, that would really screw me over. [00:42:45] Speaker F: The sweet robot arm. Lost my wing. [00:42:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Can only fly in circles. [00:42:52] Speaker E: One glider and one wing. Yeah.
