Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players.
Tomo.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: I am playing Steve Tehuman, Level 5 Gloomstalker, Ranger Fighter, Level 2, Rogue, Level 1. I have an owl.
[00:00:27] Speaker A: Brandon.
[00:00:28] Speaker C: I am Ikarutpuishlay, Level 8 Blood Hunter, Half orc. And I have breast enhancements.
[00:00:40] Speaker D: Hey, I'm Braden. I play Beleague Dagar, half elf. Hexblade warlock, level eight.
[00:00:47] Speaker E: Eric. I'm Eric. I play Dr. Zozo brightfeather, a level eight neurokocra artificer.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: And last but not least, Caleb.
[00:00:59] Speaker F: I am the construct, Kaito Hatata. And I am a level 8 warforged barbarian.
[00:01:10] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards.
You guys cleaned up the scene, you know, you're back in the white chain, having met with Gurm. He's given you one piece of information.
Compromised communications at Hugo Castle. The Suspect, Kenku, Number 2 Emissary, Wizards Guild earlier than expected.
Dante has just been dispatched. You guys are fresh and rested. And as I understand it, Kaitoa and Zozo, was there anything else when you guys were or. Sorry, you guys and gals, you blackguards and blaguettes were putting those pieces into bundles and stowing them away, was there anything specifically you guys wanted to inspect during that hour?
[00:02:10] Speaker F: Well, yeah, during that hour, knowing that Steve took the. The lodestone away, if it's during that hour and we're already done, that I would have liked to have like maybe opened my compartment for a second and just seen if it reacted ready to shut it again.
[00:02:33] Speaker A: Kaitoa, can you roll an intelligence? And you will have help from Dr. Zozo, who witnessed you making this somewhat foolish experiment.
Yeah, you can roll with advantage than.
[00:02:52] Speaker F: 19.
[00:02:53] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: On the second roll.
[00:02:57] Speaker F: Yeah, 15 was the first.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: Was Dr. Zozo who aided you. So, Dr. Zozo, what did you say? Or caution this giant construct as you noticed him taking out the amulet?
[00:03:13] Speaker E: I think I probably just said you.
[00:03:16] Speaker F: Worry about the amulet.
[00:03:17] Speaker E: All watch the. The constructs.
[00:03:21] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:03:22] Speaker A: Okay then.
[00:03:24] Speaker E: And I'll warn you if when you need to put it away.
[00:03:27] Speaker F: Yeah. There's movement. Yeah.
[00:03:30] Speaker A: And Kaitoa, you're able to run your little experiments. You. You have a partner.
[00:03:36] Speaker F: What do we see?
[00:03:37] Speaker A: You have a lab partner.
[00:03:39] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:03:43] Speaker A: You determine that there is a connection between how you hold the amulet and its commanding property over the material.
And in fact, it is when you place pressure, likely from a thumb and a forefinger on the divots on the impressions in this little cylinder that you are able to gain control.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: Sweet.
[00:04:13] Speaker F: Okay, so the. The absence of a lodestone, though we didn't notice an effect.
[00:04:21] Speaker A: No. You seem at the moment to be commanding the material.
[00:04:27] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:04:28] Speaker A: It's like you have a magnet and you are attracting material.
But you have made a discovery with this owl, this wise owl. Yeah.
[00:04:43] Speaker F: Sorry. Yeah.
Me and Zozo realize, like, the amulet seems to be controlled by pressure, placed in certain spots, potentially.
[00:04:55] Speaker C: Right?
[00:04:56] Speaker E: Yeah. And it's controlling the material. Not necessarily.
[00:05:00] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:05:00] Speaker E: Like animating it as a construct. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:05:05] Speaker B: Interesting.
[00:05:07] Speaker D: Interesting.
[00:05:09] Speaker F: Upon further inspection.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: So, everybody, as you head downstairs, you will remark the gorgeous weather outside. You know, the breaking ice along the canal, the chirping birds after Hadar receded. Truly, spring has sprung.
[00:05:31] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: Nice. Oh, yes. And Doug has been hard at work, you know. You will notice that he has removed all of the, like, the cheesecloth and the linens that were covering the second floor, you know, the hotel level of the building. And it's been months since the. The incident here that shut the place down. And it appears like it is ready to reopen.
[00:06:05] Speaker D: Thank you, Doug.
Yeah, yeah, Doug or Steve.
You're the one who understands him.
[00:06:27] Speaker B: Am I in the room?
[00:06:28] Speaker A: I thought I was chilling as you guys descend down the staircase, I guess all together. No, you have encountered Doug just as you're coming down the grand staircase, past the concierge desk to the foyer. And yet there's Doug and Steve. Yeah. You heard that.
[00:06:46] Speaker B: Can you say it again?
[00:06:47] Speaker A: Oh, sure. And as you look into Doug's eyes, you know, you realize, this poor guy, if only he could message in a different way than using his voice. But here he goes again.
[00:07:05] Speaker G: What is.
[00:07:08] Speaker D: All I got was Sharva and Porco.
[00:07:11] Speaker F: Yeah, that's all I got.
[00:07:15] Speaker D: All right, boy. Say it one more time.
[00:07:19] Speaker B: Here, here. Can you write this down? Oh, wait, hold on.
[00:07:23] Speaker F: Do.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: Or. That works.
[00:07:25] Speaker C: Right?
[00:07:26] Speaker A: As you guys motion out to him, he takes his hand out and makes the universal sign for coin as he rubs his fingers together with his thumb.
Real.
[00:07:38] Speaker C: Look at that one.
[00:07:41] Speaker A: How about wise?
[00:07:46] Speaker D: Oh, raise or wage? I heard wage. He doesn't need a raise.
[00:07:52] Speaker A: Rook.
Rook. You're half Orc ears. Hear this, and I will award you inspiration.
Doug wants a raise.
[00:08:04] Speaker F: I thought he said praise, like a. Good job, Doug.
[00:08:08] Speaker D: Yay, Doug.
[00:08:11] Speaker C: Hey, Doug, how about you tell me what kind of value you bring?
[00:08:18] Speaker A: Oh, sure. Oh, okay.
[00:08:20] Speaker B: His communication skills could use some work. I'll say that for a second.
[00:08:24] Speaker A: Well, let's. What should he roll?
[00:08:26] Speaker D: Are we doing a performance review right now.
[00:08:28] Speaker F: Hold.
[00:08:28] Speaker A: Yeah, well, no, he's gonna roll. Performance. Just a sec.
Oh, It's a natty 20. Oh, dropped it right out of the bag. I know how to handle this, Rook. Well, for one, he takes his fist and smashes it into his giant orc palm like he's mashing and churning butter. And looks at you, Rook. And then also makes the sign like he's drawing a sword from his belt line.
[00:08:59] Speaker C: I don't get it.
[00:09:01] Speaker D: Oh, it's so fun watching two half orcs try and talk to each other.
[00:09:06] Speaker C: Especially one without a tongue.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: And then in your head, Rook, you hear a voice.
[00:09:18] Speaker G: Rook.
[00:09:19] Speaker A: To listen, you need to be patient.
Look at his fist. He smashes a skull. Look at his hand. He draws a sword.
This is no stable boy.
Maybe a fighter.
[00:09:41] Speaker B: Yeah, if you give him a stone of far speech, would he, like, technically be able to speak properly through the magic?
[00:09:48] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, it's through his head.
[00:09:52] Speaker A: That's clever.
Steve and Kaito are there. Sorry, Rook, what did you say?
[00:09:58] Speaker C: I said, so he's a fighter. Do you want to come fight for us?
[00:10:02] Speaker B: Certainly more money in fighting than waiting tables.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: Hey, Doug, why ever pay more?
[00:10:10] Speaker C: We can pay you more for that.
[00:10:12] Speaker D: Yeah, but you're. Doug, do you have a second in command now? You know, an eighth master.
[00:10:20] Speaker C: I need to ask him how much per week do you want to join us as a fighter? One silver.
[00:10:27] Speaker B: You can always pay him by the scalp.
[00:10:30] Speaker C: Which do you prefer?
[00:10:32] Speaker D: Pay him by the scalp and give him. Let him look at the meat wagon gear.
[00:10:37] Speaker B: It's like a commission of sorts.
He's a good fighter. He'll get paid more.
[00:10:46] Speaker A: Doug the Hitman Heart.
[00:10:49] Speaker B: Jesus.
[00:10:51] Speaker A: Can you guys. In this moment, can you guys all roll a group persuasion on your commission based compensation structure?
[00:11:01] Speaker F: Can we just start calling Doug a tongue?
[00:11:05] Speaker D: Hey, Tongue.
Bella. Got a 21, I got a 5.
[00:11:11] Speaker F: Sorry, what was this?
[00:11:12] Speaker E: I don't know.
[00:11:14] Speaker C: Persuasion 17.
[00:11:18] Speaker F: I got a 6.
[00:11:20] Speaker D: All right, Steve, you gotta knock this one out of the park.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: No use an inspiration.
My Persuasion rolled me a sweet ass eight.
[00:11:34] Speaker A: Okay, so 30, so. Oh, we cracked 50. Just like 56. Okay, well, he says commission.
Okay. Keep what I kill.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:11:52] Speaker A: All right. And you guys feel like you have added a combat ready NPC that you could, you know, essentially say is now attached to these stables of the white chain that is no longer the white chain.
[00:12:08] Speaker C: Hey, Rob, where's my backpack, buddy?
[00:12:11] Speaker A: Oh, well, it's nap time for oldfoot.
[00:12:17] Speaker D: Nap time for old foot.
[00:12:20] Speaker A: Okay, guys.
[00:12:20] Speaker C: No backpack, buddy.
[00:12:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm Afraid he is. Only he's, like, crepuscular. He's like a cat. He's up in the morning and you guys seem to have started to getting him back on the bottle, so I would maybe be careful what you wish for.
[00:12:37] Speaker C: Well, can always have Dr. Zozo whip up a potion to get him going.
[00:12:43] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:12:44] Speaker C: Steve, have you laid the field or the field of play for our guests?
[00:12:52] Speaker B: As in my special traps?
[00:12:55] Speaker C: Yes, sir.
[00:12:59] Speaker D: Super glue on every chair he met.
[00:13:03] Speaker C: All my favorite's the hot iron on that handle.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: Have you done any preparatory work? Any of the party? Steve, I guess they're looking at you as the McAllister in waiting.
[00:13:21] Speaker B: Well, I guess. I mean, if I had any time on my own, Steve was probably hiding daggers and sharp things all over the place.
[00:13:33] Speaker E: If we're doing traps, I have a spell to make Thunderbirds mine.
[00:13:38] Speaker D: Oh, God.
Do we need to go that far right away?
[00:13:44] Speaker F: Maybe.
[00:13:46] Speaker B: I mean, if they're coming to parlay, we're just gonna probably host them in the main room, I assume, right?
[00:13:50] Speaker D: Yeah, we're just gonna host them in the main room. I think we'll be able to just talk to them, at least for a little bit.
[00:13:56] Speaker E: Okay, I'll hold off on the mine for now.
[00:14:00] Speaker F: What if I ice the floor in front of the door so when we open it, they slip and fall down?
Just to make them look like idiots?
[00:14:11] Speaker B: Just to embarrass them.
[00:14:15] Speaker F: Exactly.
[00:14:17] Speaker E: So what is your guys's beef with the Wizards Guild?
[00:14:20] Speaker B: Nothing happened yet.
Well, I guess. I mean, the Wizards Guild was represented by Naf Nafrey, so he's the guy that we ran out of town.
[00:14:34] Speaker E: Oh, okay.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: And he. He unfortunately was left alive.
[00:14:39] Speaker C: Got away?
[00:14:40] Speaker B: Yeah, he got away.
So he probably had enough time to.
[00:14:46] Speaker E: Get back in touch with them.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. So they're probably not on our side.
[00:14:53] Speaker E: All right?
[00:14:54] Speaker B: Either that or they're coming to figure out how they can weasel their way back into some form of power. Because right now, they. They are not being represented by the current group.
[00:15:04] Speaker E: Right.
Maybe they hated Nafrey, too.
[00:15:07] Speaker B: There is also the matter of a. An investigation on some dark magic. Yeah, bloody dark magic that was left at one of our battles.
[00:15:21] Speaker D: Oh, are you. Are you dishing the dirt?
[00:15:24] Speaker B: Steve would have no idea about this, though. Don't ask Steve about it, because he doesn't.
[00:15:28] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:15:31] Speaker C: I'm gonna yell for Shorva. Shorva, how is our spread coming along?
[00:15:39] Speaker G: Oh, good. But when I look at the cups of tea that I've brewed, there's an ominous ripple forming.
[00:15:49] Speaker D: I wonder if I Wonder if we're gonna have to hold this meeting outside or if Porco's gonna have to make another door frame.
[00:15:58] Speaker B: The muscle can stay outside. They're not here to talk anyway.
[00:16:02] Speaker D: It's very true.
[00:16:04] Speaker B: I.
I put Stolas away as we probably won't need him in the white chain here.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Okay, and you mean back into. Like out of the material plane?
[00:16:15] Speaker B: Yeah. I call him off.
[00:16:16] Speaker A: Okay. Well, there is the beginnings of a repeating thumping sounds.
[00:16:25] Speaker C: Big.
[00:16:26] Speaker D: Well, Belak snaps his fingers into his nice clothes.
The red robes he donned when Nafre first came.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: It's your diplomatic garb.
[00:16:36] Speaker D: Yeah.
Fuck, what are they called again?
[00:16:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't know, it's like a 3/4 tunic or what? Anyway, so here's what's happening then. Right now, as I understand it, everybody in the foyer. Bellic just changed into formal wear. Rook, Kaitoa, Dr. Zozo, Steve just summoned Stolas back. There are the five of you. And there is a low thumping and a couple of the newly set dishes fall off the brake front. And a couple of the glasses carefully polished for opening day fall and smash on the ground.
[00:17:19] Speaker C: I'm gonna take a look out the slot in the door that we had Porco make to see what the heck is coming down the road and making all this ruckus.
[00:17:31] Speaker A: As you go to the upper slot in the door, you hear a voice.
[00:17:39] Speaker G: Hello? Is anyone here?
[00:17:42] Speaker A: Very awkward standing outside, wouldn't you say?
[00:17:48] Speaker C: Who goes there?
[00:17:50] Speaker G: Tis I. You know who I answer to?
[00:17:54] Speaker A: The brass?
[00:17:55] Speaker G: I'm Emis.
[00:17:58] Speaker C: Emis.
[00:18:01] Speaker G: The M is Sari.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: Son of a bitch.
[00:18:11] Speaker C: I'm going to slowly open the door and take a look outside.
[00:18:19] Speaker G: Knock, knock, knock. Hello. The new quartermaster in town.
[00:18:27] Speaker C: Yes, that is me. And my. These are my friends here. We're. This is our establishment. The White Chain.
[00:18:36] Speaker A: Okay. Well, you see two figures. Rook there is right in your grill. At the door, a woman speaking to you. She is cloaked all in brown and wears riding boots. Behind them is a huge clay golem.
[00:19:00] Speaker C: You're quite the big fellow there.
Ooh, we have a spread prepared here. Would you like to come in and meet and coerce with us and figure out, you know, pleasantries?
[00:19:15] Speaker G: Here, one of this. No more of us coming. But my companion won't be able to join us. That's just fine, thank you. I will take your invitation to come in.
[00:19:28] Speaker C: Come on in.
Gonna let her in and close the door behind.
[00:19:36] Speaker D: Belly looks relaxed as always.
[00:19:40] Speaker B: Steve's sitting on the bar as always.
[00:19:46] Speaker G: Hello.
[00:19:48] Speaker C: Please do take a seat.
[00:19:50] Speaker G: I am Ames And I will not sit, for I must stand until I have delivered my message from the brass.
[00:20:01] Speaker C: What's your message?
[00:20:04] Speaker G: Are you the new leaders in town or what would you say? Am I correct in assuming that I'm.
[00:20:12] Speaker C: The new quartermaster here and your name is?
[00:20:19] Speaker G: And your general construct? I am well aware of them. And your servants here. Who is this sage bird creature?
[00:20:33] Speaker C: Am I yourself?
[00:20:35] Speaker G: Well, pardon me. Am I bold in asking?
[00:20:38] Speaker E: I'm just a colleague. An interested party.
[00:20:42] Speaker B: Friends and well wishers.
[00:20:45] Speaker G: You work together, I see. I feel more comfortable then. Are there any more of you?
[00:20:53] Speaker C: This is all other than our help that has prepared a spread for us to enjoy and will be serving us fine ales, wine or whatever you please.
[00:21:03] Speaker G: Marvellous. Shall we continue the conversation at a table?
[00:21:09] Speaker D: I motion to come sit at the table that I'm already sitting at.
[00:21:13] Speaker G: Wonderful. Thank you.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: And she sits down. But not very quickly. They are slow to sit down. You could easily fit seven or eight people around one of these huge wooden tables. So what are you guys expecting from the kitchen?
[00:21:35] Speaker C: Meat. Fine spread.
[00:21:37] Speaker D: Cheeses?
Mega.
[00:21:39] Speaker B: Freshly grilled pullback sausage. We're gonna watch that bitch eat that sausage.
[00:21:44] Speaker D: We made this sausage. Sort of. We provided the meat that made this sausage.
[00:21:52] Speaker A: Early afternoon charcuterie spread at Pickles. Pickles. Okay, definitely have that. So you have here, you know, shorva and. Oh, look at this, guys. There is the staff and they are in clean white aprons. And it looks like even though you guys haven't officially opened, they're doing sort of a dry run. And so the staff looks great and they are serving everybody. And as they come around to this emissary, they are impressed. Party can roll a group performance with advantage.
[00:22:34] Speaker B: Oh, thank God.
[00:22:36] Speaker F: Oh, Natty 20.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Natty 20. Yeah, you chill the beer.
[00:22:42] Speaker C: 16.
[00:22:43] Speaker D: Okay, I only got a 14.
[00:22:46] Speaker B: That is a 12 for Steve.
[00:22:49] Speaker D: Okay, I got 11 mediocre performances all around.
[00:22:54] Speaker A: Well, it's my first day, so, Kaitoa, you frost the beer. And it is miraculous because this is an effect rarely seen outside. Some sort of conjurer's clever breakfast circle or perhaps an alchemist's prank. You know, to have a frosted stein is something quite miraculous. And everything here, guys, is going off without a hitch. And then, do you at this moment want to roll anything? Your guest is preoccupied for just a moment. This person holds themself with great poise. But now they are looking down at the charcuterie spread. And so now's the time.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: I want to find her golem controller.
[00:23:48] Speaker A: Okay, roll a skill of your choice, Steve.
[00:23:51] Speaker B: Oh, Geez, that would be perceptione visual analysis. Eagle eyes.
[00:23:59] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna keep engaged with her as I make my way to head of the table and sit down so I can keep her eyes on me and let Steve do his thing.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: A non natural 20.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: Go. Okay, well, Steve won't take advantage of it, but the next person who rolls something they would like to be better has help from Rook, who's gonna engage in another line of dialogue. And Steve with the non nat20 or the nat20.
[00:24:28] Speaker B: It is a non nat20.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: With the non nat20, you notice that this person has layers and layers of their clothing. Brown cloak, brown cape, brown cloth.
[00:24:47] Speaker B: Just layers on layers. Huh.
[00:24:49] Speaker D: Can I roll?
Just insight to kind of pick out her general goal here, See if she's got good intentions or coming here with malicious intent or.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Roll.
[00:25:01] Speaker D: That's 16.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: Okay. I think in this moment, Rook, you're just about to kind of engage her in a line of dialogue as she looks up from the sausage.
[00:25:17] Speaker G: Excuse me, what is this?
[00:25:20] Speaker C: It's the finest meat that you can get around here.
[00:25:24] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:25:25] Speaker C: Tenderized to a nice pulp until they make it into a sausage and it just gives it that really nice.
[00:25:32] Speaker G: Yes.
[00:25:32] Speaker C: Tender, moist.
[00:25:35] Speaker G: Excuse me, though. I said what is it exactly?
Is it wrong to ask what ingredients are in here?
[00:25:45] Speaker C: Well, I don't really know. It's kind of a special recipe.
[00:25:49] Speaker G: Very well.
[00:25:51] Speaker C: I mean, we just know the best butcher in town that kind of does it for us.
[00:25:57] Speaker B: It was brought in from the docks.
[00:26:00] Speaker G: Methinks thou doth protest too much.
[00:26:03] Speaker C: Now, how was your travels? You seem to get here a lot quicker than we thought.
[00:26:11] Speaker G: Indeed. Space and time is sometimes nothing but a thought and the snap of a finger. So, tell me, when are you going to introduce everybody in the party here, and I'll just tuck into this sausage, shall I?
[00:26:31] Speaker C: Well, you can make your introductions. Who would you like to meet and address them.
[00:26:38] Speaker A: And you know, she's just tucking in. They're so. Bella, you're inside of 16. You wanted to know motives. That's why you're rolling inside.
[00:26:47] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:26:49] Speaker A: Oh, it's the Machiavellian chess game.
You feel that right away.
[00:26:55] Speaker D: All right.
She's in it for her own gain.
[00:27:00] Speaker E: Must be warm under all that. Under all those robes.
[00:27:06] Speaker G: I say, those are beautiful garments there.
[00:27:10] Speaker D: She's obviously pointing at me.
[00:27:14] Speaker G: Not at all. Quiet, you. I'm talking about the wonderful bird.
[00:27:20] Speaker E: Oh, thanks. Yeah, they're from all over.
[00:27:25] Speaker G: Well, I've been bird watching in the starsea. Wonderful scarves and robes you have. You seem a learned Saged Owl you.
[00:27:36] Speaker E: Thank you. Yeah. So did you say you teleported here?
[00:27:41] Speaker G: Roll perception.
[00:27:43] Speaker E: Okay, I got a 12.
[00:27:49] Speaker A: Oh, there is a silence in the dining chamber of the not the white chain.
[00:27:58] Speaker G: You don't like my bird watching joke?
[00:28:02] Speaker E: Well I'm not really a bird. I'm an Aarakocra. There is a difference.
[00:28:08] Speaker G: Yes, well I might have skipped a couple of leagues. So. Fair enough. There's a way to travel very quickly if you know the things I do.
Wouldn't you agree that knowledge is a great thing?
[00:28:25] Speaker E: Yeah, knowledge is great if you use it for great things.
[00:28:29] Speaker G: Interesting.
And you party at large.
When will you come back with me to Hewgill Castle and then to the Wizards Guild?
[00:28:40] Speaker D: You want us to go all the way to the Wizard's Guild with you?
[00:28:44] Speaker G: It's a simple snap of my fingers. I say what a jolly idea. After we finish the sausage. I quite like the look of you. Are you an advisor of some sort?
[00:28:58] Speaker A: And she's looking at you. Beleg. Half elf of sorts.
[00:29:04] Speaker D: That's all he says.
[00:29:06] Speaker G: What shall we do then?
Back to huge castle.
[00:29:10] Speaker A: And she dabs the sides of her mouth and stands up.
[00:29:16] Speaker D: Why don't we just talk here?
[00:29:19] Speaker G: No, I think I'm quite done. Back to Hugh Gill Castle. Wherefore we will transport back to the Wizard's Guild. The Brass Towers.
[00:29:32] Speaker D: Nope.
I like it here.
[00:29:36] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a no for me.
[00:29:39] Speaker D: This is where we chat.
[00:29:42] Speaker G: I'll say this.
How many minutes would you like to chat for?
Is that too bold a question?
[00:29:52] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:29:53] Speaker D: Depends on what you want to chat about.
[00:29:56] Speaker G: I am Emis.
[00:29:57] Speaker D: What are you here for anyways?
[00:29:59] Speaker G: I am Emis. I'm at your disposal. I've delivered my message. I just need you to come back with me. But I'm here at your disposal.
[00:30:11] Speaker C: What do you need us to come back with you for?
[00:30:14] Speaker D: Yeah, we might just dispose you.
[00:30:18] Speaker C: Well let's not go that far.
[00:30:21] Speaker D: I don't mean dispatch her.
[00:30:23] Speaker F: I just mean.
[00:30:24] Speaker G: I don't think so.
[00:30:29] Speaker A: You now see a giant barrel sized toe fill the front door. This golem is huge.
[00:30:44] Speaker C: Good God.
We didn't mean anything by that. But what do you want us to go back to the Wizard?
[00:30:51] Speaker F: Get.
[00:30:52] Speaker D: I should have said dismiss.
[00:30:54] Speaker C: What would you like to discuss back at the Wizard's Guild?
[00:30:57] Speaker G: Well. I heard you very well.
[00:31:00] Speaker A: Handsome.
[00:31:02] Speaker D: Awake.
[00:31:04] Speaker G: What I mean quartermaster half orc, is that I am bidden by a higher authority to bring you all back to the brass.
[00:31:18] Speaker C: What is the purpose of it? Or what would they like us to come back there for tea? Before we go anywhere, we must.
[00:31:26] Speaker G: Oh, tea crumpets in a chitty chat, wouldn't you say that's a wonderful idea. And miles and miles between you and here will flash by in an instant. Oh. We'll be near Old Slumber and on the cliff city of Cozum in the gorgeous twin brass towers.
[00:31:53] Speaker F: Are you requesting our presence or are you demanding it?
[00:31:58] Speaker D: I mean, if distance is such a petty little issue for you, why don't the brass come here and talk to us? We've got a city to run here, a hotel to run.
[00:32:12] Speaker G: Such small ideas. Not asking to answer you.
Not asking.
[00:32:20] Speaker F: Okay, so.
[00:32:26] Speaker G: Wouldn'T you say that's a wonderful proposition, though? Come on. Am I right?
Come with me. No fuss, no bother, off to Hugiel Castle, snippity snap, and we'll be face to face with your trial.
[00:32:48] Speaker D: Face to face with our what?
[00:32:50] Speaker F: Trial.
[00:32:51] Speaker D: Our trial.
What are we on trial for?
[00:32:56] Speaker A: Are you.
[00:32:58] Speaker G: Will you just stand trial with the Wizard Memory?
[00:33:03] Speaker D: Pardon?
[00:33:05] Speaker F: Against the Wizardman.
[00:33:08] Speaker G: My understanding is that he was caught casting fireballs and that all sorts of things he was searching for in the museums in Basel were quite forbidden. And so I believe that in addition to your testimony and potential culpability, there'll be a really full story to tell in front of the Brass Council.
[00:33:37] Speaker D: Oh, sounds like a whole lot of no fun at all.
[00:33:42] Speaker G: Well, we'll see.
[00:33:45] Speaker A: And she starts backing away from the table. Guys, she is now at the door.
Oh. She places her hand on the barrel toe of the clay golem. And they have both receded slightly out of view of the open aperture of the front door.
[00:34:08] Speaker B: How are we attached to mem?
[00:34:12] Speaker F: Yeah, are we like.
[00:34:13] Speaker D: If he was seen casting fireballs and they. Then we could have been seen with them in the battle of Polka Plains.
[00:34:19] Speaker B: But we weren't where he was caught. How. Why is this. Why is this our problem?
[00:34:26] Speaker D: Yeah, it might just be known accomplices at this point.
[00:34:30] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:34:31] Speaker D: Also, Naft could be back at the.
[00:34:33] Speaker B: I imagine definitely bad.
[00:34:36] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: So, yeah, can everybody.
[00:34:42] Speaker B: He's not friends with us, that's for sure.
[00:34:45] Speaker A: Can everybody make a dexterity saving throw as you share those final words?
[00:34:54] Speaker D: That's a Nat20.
[00:34:56] Speaker C: What are we rolling for, sir?
[00:34:58] Speaker A: Austerity saving throw.
Okay. Proton, that was also over 20.
[00:35:06] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:07] Speaker A: Is anybody under 20?
[00:35:09] Speaker F: Yeah, I've got it.
[00:35:10] Speaker C: Not 20, but 22 total.
[00:35:12] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:35:12] Speaker D: Okay, you got a nat 22.
[00:35:15] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, I got a 17.
[00:35:18] Speaker B: Steve has a 24.
[00:35:21] Speaker D: We are a dexterous bunch.
[00:35:23] Speaker F: Oh, no, I have. I do have danger sense, if I can see it.
[00:35:27] Speaker A: Coming.
[00:35:27] Speaker F: And I have an advantage on a deck save.
[00:35:29] Speaker A: You can roll again.
[00:35:33] Speaker F: It's. No.
[00:35:35] Speaker A: Okay, so you are the only one under 20, Kaitoa.
[00:35:38] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:35:39] Speaker A: Okay, you take.
[00:35:41] Speaker F: Oh, I'm gonna enrage.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: Jeez.
[00:35:50] Speaker D: Well, I break up with you.
[00:35:52] Speaker A: Let's.
[00:35:53] Speaker G: Let's think.
[00:35:53] Speaker A: You had the danger sins. Do you have inspiration?
[00:35:58] Speaker E: No.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: You take 19. Damage. Bludgeoning.
[00:36:05] Speaker F: Am I enraged?
[00:36:07] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:36:09] Speaker F: Okay, well, then I get to at least half it.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: So you half it. And it is in the exact moment that you feel the entire front facade of this building come crashing in towards the party.
It is as if a wrecking ball has destroyed the entire front entranceway.
[00:36:35] Speaker C: Oh, Porco's got one.
[00:36:39] Speaker D: Wow.
[00:36:41] Speaker B: A little bit more.
[00:36:43] Speaker D: Just take the front of the building off.
[00:36:46] Speaker E: It was my first day too.
[00:36:49] Speaker F: Oh, guys, are we going.
[00:36:53] Speaker B: Are we in combat? Is this what's happening?
[00:36:56] Speaker A: Roll initiative.
[00:36:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:59] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[00:37:01] Speaker B: Get it.
[00:37:04] Speaker D: Oh, that's another nat 20. What's.
[00:37:05] Speaker B: Oh, that's nice.
[00:37:06] Speaker D: Today.
[00:37:11] Speaker C: Oh, 18.
[00:37:12] Speaker B: I got 20 plus three.
[00:37:14] Speaker E: I got 16.
[00:37:16] Speaker D: I also. I got nat 20 plus two. You bugger.
[00:37:20] Speaker E: Zozo. 16.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: Zozo.
[00:37:24] Speaker D: See, Rob, I still have my damn spectre by now.
Fight with us.
[00:37:30] Speaker G: Oh, yeah.
[00:37:31] Speaker A: You raised well. Hey, dude. Tell me about it. Oh, where's, by the way?
[00:37:35] Speaker B: That.
[00:37:36] Speaker D: Where's still in the nether verse, right?
[00:37:40] Speaker A: Yeah. If you want an administrative, let me know.
You know, when I was listening to the last session, you never actually raised the specter.
[00:37:50] Speaker D: I was feverishly trying to.
[00:37:52] Speaker A: Mm.
Say the word and it's gonna happen right now.
[00:37:56] Speaker D: Oh, I fucking rose that specter.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: Okay. All along. Beleg. Where did this specter rise from? Did you need a, you know, fresh corpse? It had to be somebody that you killed.
[00:38:10] Speaker D: Yeah, so it would have been any of the. The Kobolds. I rose a specter from that. And then that specter hangs with me until the end of my next long rest.
[00:38:18] Speaker A: Okay, now describe the specter quickly for us. What properties does it have in combat?
[00:38:26] Speaker D: All right, so traits. Incorporeal movement. So it can move through creatures and objects as if they're difficult terrain.
It is sensitive to sunlight, which makes this the. The whole front of the building being taken off kind of shitty. So it has disadvantage on attack rolls as well as perception checks. Then it's got life drain, which is a plus four to hit. Plus my charisma mod. I think because of my hex blade.
Yeah, plus four to hit. It does 3D6 necrotic damage. And then on a failed con, save the. The enemy's hit points. Maximum is Reduced by the amount of damage, which is dope, because I could just kill. Kill people. Well, yeah. Resistant to all sorts of damage. 50 foot flying speed. 22 hit points.
[00:39:24] Speaker A: 50 foot flying. Okay, well, your raised specter takes the form of a deceased kobold Urd wizard, so. A flying kobold wizard.
[00:39:42] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:39:43] Speaker A: Which is perfect because kobolds are resistant to sunlight. You raised one of those worm priests or what? No, you raised the worm wizard.
[00:39:53] Speaker D: Nice.
Well, that's my dude.
[00:39:57] Speaker A: We'll see if he competes with the guy on the couch.
Is he in initiative with you? That's what I'd like to do.
[00:40:06] Speaker D: He rolls his own initiative.
[00:40:08] Speaker A: Do it.
[00:40:13] Speaker D: That's another Nat 20. It's not a joke.
[00:40:16] Speaker A: Plus two.
[00:40:18] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:40:19] Speaker A: Oh, great. Okay, well, so can you roll a 1D? Can you roll 2D 4?
[00:40:24] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: Real quick. And this is what stole his roll.
Stolen Here.
[00:40:32] Speaker D: I rolled a three and a one.
[00:40:34] Speaker A: Who's three?
[00:40:39] Speaker D: The specter is three because the belly D4 is the one.
[00:40:44] Speaker A: Okay. Spectre first.
[00:40:46] Speaker F: Hey, would.
Would the Tongue be a part of this battle?
[00:40:52] Speaker A: The Tongue is in the building.
[00:40:56] Speaker F: He'd jump in, wouldn't he? We've already paid him.
[00:40:59] Speaker A: Well, interesting. The tongue would be outside, so maybe not in an initiative yet. He'd probably be around the stable side. But of course, half of this battle is outside. The huge golem is outside. So, Kaitoa, your tactical mind is worrying. You know, what are the military assets? What are the force multipliers? And you think about Doug the Tongue.
[00:41:24] Speaker F: Doug the Hitman hurt.
[00:41:26] Speaker C: If he takes on that goal himself, he's not going to get paid.
[00:41:34] Speaker A: All of the masonry is crashing about you. Steve, you're up.
[00:41:41] Speaker B: All right, bonus action.
Just mark.
[00:41:46] Speaker A: Okay? On whom or what?
[00:41:48] Speaker B: On the. The woman.
[00:41:51] Speaker A: You cannot see her right now. She stepped out of the doorway. You know, if you sort of duck down or changed your position, maybe you could shoot her. But she's essentially within the 10ft of the outside of the front door.
[00:42:07] Speaker B: Oh, so she's no longer in view?
[00:42:09] Speaker A: Hey, she backed out towards his foot.
[00:42:14] Speaker B: I see. Hmm.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: You do see, however, as the dust clears, the monstrous head of the clay golem within, say, 60ft.
Damn it.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: I wanted to hit the lady.
For me to move, to be able to get a better vantage out of this hole the golems just made. To hopefully get a look at this.
[00:42:36] Speaker A: Girl, you would have to rush towards the open door.
[00:42:42] Speaker B: I want to. I want to. I want a view of her.
[00:42:45] Speaker A: Okay, well, so you would rush. You would only need 30ft of your movement party. You see Steve, rush past. That's your movement, Steve. And now you are in range of her. You see her. You know she is staying close to the leg of the clay golem.
[00:43:02] Speaker B: Okay, well, she gets Hunter's mark as a bonus action.
[00:43:06] Speaker A: Okay, Hunter's mark.
[00:43:08] Speaker B: I attack with all of my attacks.
So I've got three attacks.
One is a crit.
So the first dagger is 12 plus 12, plus 17. So 30.
[00:43:30] Speaker A: No, 29.
[00:43:31] Speaker B: 29.
Second shot is not as good.
At best It'll be an 11.
A 15.
[00:43:45] Speaker A: Oh, that doesn't hit.
[00:43:47] Speaker B: Okay, and then I action surge and I attack three more times.
20 non natural.
[00:43:55] Speaker A: Oh, okay. At 20 hits.
[00:43:59] Speaker B: Okay, 17.
[00:44:03] Speaker A: Oh boy.
[00:44:03] Speaker B: For 26.
Last one is 14. So I miss.
[00:44:12] Speaker A: Steve, you have unleashed a powerful double barreled blast of daggers. Can you tell me where you were aiming on this person?
I.
[00:44:26] Speaker B: Anything that is not covered in clothing.
[00:44:29] Speaker D: Oh, this fight's gonna have such huge repercussions.
[00:44:33] Speaker A: Yeah, that is a lot of damage to the neck and shoulder.
[00:44:44] Speaker D: How's she looking?
[00:44:45] Speaker A: Anything else in your move?
[00:44:47] Speaker B: Well, if I. Because of the first turn, I actually move 40 instead of 30, so I will use that extra 10. Just. Just a little hop back.
[00:44:57] Speaker A: Okay. And Bella, you said how is she looking? Yeah, well, you can ask Steve that. And Steve, the answer is she has staggered back and is now putting her arm against the leg of the golem.
[00:45:13] Speaker D: Still alive, Dewey. Noted.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: Okay, next.
Not Stolas, but Beleg.
[00:45:21] Speaker D: No, the specter. Is the specter within 50ft of her?
[00:45:26] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:45:27] Speaker D: Sweet. Then the specter goes up to her as she's leaning on the wall and tries to throw a life drain at her.
[00:45:37] Speaker A: You mean as she's leaning on the.
[00:45:39] Speaker D: Golem or the golem. Sorry.
[00:45:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:45:41] Speaker A: Well, it is like a clay wall. And this little kobold wizard ghost goes up and does his little thing.
[00:45:51] Speaker D: Yep.
Roll to attack. I've got the specter attributes up here right now.
It's a melee attack. Melee spell attack.
And that's a 15 plus 7. So 22.
[00:46:05] Speaker A: That hits because you're adding your charisma and a couple of other junk.
[00:46:11] Speaker D: Yeah, it's a plus four to hit. And then I add my charisma to attack rolls.
[00:46:16] Speaker A: Well, Beleg Dagar, as you dispatch your raised specter kobold wizard, the whole party hears a familiar sound.
[00:46:36] Speaker D: Triple fours. So that's 12 damage. And then she has to do a constitution saving throw DC10. And if she fails, then her hit point maximum is reduced by 12 as well.
[00:46:52] Speaker A: Okay, here we go.
[00:46:53] Speaker D: What are we gonna be just 10.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Nope.
[00:46:58] Speaker D: Failed.
[00:46:59] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:47:00] Speaker D: Yeah. Then her hit point maximum is reduced by 12 as well, so. And it stays that way until the end of her next long rest.
[00:47:06] Speaker A: Beleg Dagar, can you describe the visible life draining effect?
[00:47:15] Speaker D: The specter whooshes along, you know, about five feet above the ground and reaches its hand out and puts all of its fingers right on where Steve hit her with daggers on her neck and drains life out.
[00:47:34] Speaker A: Damage was dealt. And there are visible dark black and purple lines of aging occurring.
[00:47:45] Speaker D: Beautiful.
[00:47:47] Speaker A: And you hear a terrible, terrible scream.
[00:47:52] Speaker D: Now Beleg's turn.
[00:47:53] Speaker A: Now Beleg's turn.
[00:47:55] Speaker D: Yay.
[00:47:57] Speaker E: Do hunger of Hadar.
[00:47:59] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:47:59] Speaker B: No.
[00:48:02] Speaker D: Nope.
Bellik cast banishment on the golem.
[00:48:08] Speaker A: Oh, Other Realm. Okay.
[00:48:12] Speaker D: Yeah, it has to succeed on a DC14 charisma saving throw, which I have a hunch golems aren't very good at.
[00:48:23] Speaker G: Oh, minus five.
[00:48:26] Speaker D: My hunch was correct.
[00:48:28] Speaker F: I like hearing it.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: Okay, so here we go.
[00:48:32] Speaker D: You got that 10% chance?
[00:48:35] Speaker A: 8. Minus 5. 3.
[00:48:39] Speaker D: Then that golem is banished to another realm.
[00:48:45] Speaker F: How long?
[00:48:47] Speaker D: Not that long. But more than long enough for us to leverage our moment of power over this chick. I like it up to one minute.
[00:48:57] Speaker B: More than enough time.
[00:48:58] Speaker A: Yeah. That's what, 10 rounds of combat. Can you describe there? This must be your full action.
[00:49:05] Speaker D: Yep. Yeah, it's a full action.
[00:49:07] Speaker A: Describe what we see.
[00:49:10] Speaker D: Oh, you see the good old finger wag?
Not today.
[00:49:15] Speaker F: He was a very bad golem.
[00:49:19] Speaker D: Bad God, you're a very bad golem.
Yeah, Gollum just like just blinks into nothingness with that sound effect.
And what plane is it on?
Yeah, it's just banished to a harmless demiplane. Completely incapacitated.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: Always interesting when we talk planes. Well, as far as we can tell and care. Not the material plane. The plaza is empty.
[00:50:01] Speaker B: Is she still leaning on it? Because then she'd fall over.
[00:50:06] Speaker A: So good.
[00:50:07] Speaker D: And if she falls over and that's she's prone.
[00:50:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:11] Speaker D: After the banishment, walks straight up to her.
[00:50:14] Speaker A: Do it.
[00:50:14] Speaker B: Cut her tongue out. Let's bring her to the hurt locker.
[00:50:16] Speaker A: Fall down. Here we go. Ready?
[00:50:18] Speaker F: She's fall over, plaint prone.
[00:50:20] Speaker A: Oh, she uses a reaction, you guys see, like a mage hand props her back up.
There don't seem to be any detectable wounds where Steve hit her.
[00:50:37] Speaker D: Well, Belleg still goes right up to.
[00:50:41] Speaker B: Her just in case there was some magical damage from my. From my hunter's mark.
[00:50:48] Speaker A: Beleg, how close have you gone when you say you approach her?
[00:50:54] Speaker D: Well, I've only got 30ft of movement. I guess I am 30ft away from her. I'd go within 10ft of her Belling.
[00:51:04] Speaker A: Can you roll against a banishment spell?
[00:51:11] Speaker D: Yes, I can.
That is a 19.
[00:51:18] Speaker A: Bell. Like Dagar.
You feel a pull into the same plane that you just banished that golem. But you ban manage in this moment to somehow push that spell away.
[00:51:36] Speaker D: Jeez, you scared the shit out of me there for a second.
[00:51:40] Speaker A: And party. You see this person make a couple of hand movements beneath her brown cloak, pointed directly at Bella. Can. You can almost see spirit space and time starting to warp around Beleg. Just as it did a moment ago. The Golem Beleg. Is there anything else in your move?
[00:52:07] Speaker D: Yeah. I say. Is that all you got?
And I put my Hexblade curse on her Beleg.
[00:52:14] Speaker A: What sort of pact were you attempting to renegotiate when you smash the emblem of your patron against the cobblestones?
[00:52:27] Speaker D: Oh, I was just expressing my displeasure for being embarrassed.
[00:52:32] Speaker G: What an interesting story, Bellac d'gar.
[00:52:39] Speaker D: It gets more interesting if you can let me curse this bitch.
[00:52:44] Speaker G: Have a go. Roll a 1.
[00:52:47] Speaker A: D4.
[00:52:52] Speaker D: That's a 3.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: That is a tenuous success.
[00:53:00] Speaker D: Sweet.
Then I cast my Hex Blade curse on her.
[00:53:05] Speaker A: Okay, well, then what does your curse do this round? Or is it next round?
[00:53:11] Speaker D: It doesn't do anything for me this round. I just add profile efficiency bonus to my damage rolls. I crit on 19 and 20, and then I regain health if I kill them.
[00:53:21] Speaker A: Next round and further rounds. We just have to remember that. Okay.
Rook 18.
[00:53:30] Speaker C: Well, she's pretty dinged up, we think.
[00:53:34] Speaker B: Yeah, it doesn't sound like it. She's taking, but I don't think.
[00:53:40] Speaker C: Do we want to offer or do we want to keep her alive?
[00:53:43] Speaker F: Offer.
[00:53:45] Speaker B: Look at this one.
[00:53:46] Speaker D: Just made her bed. Yeah.
[00:53:49] Speaker C: Okay, well.
And exactly how far is she from me there, Rob?
[00:53:54] Speaker F: 30Ft.
[00:53:55] Speaker A: Are you still on the inside or the outside of what used to be the intact front wall of the white Chain?
[00:54:05] Speaker C: Well, I think I'd make a move towards the outer side once that. What, foot came through the wall.
[00:54:11] Speaker A: Then you're within 30.
[00:54:13] Speaker C: Okay, then I will go all out, I think, on this one.
So I can do a Bergen's blade and my voltaic machete.
And I will strike.
Oh, that's not. Not good. Not good.
Both D20s, rolled fours.
Yeah.
[00:54:49] Speaker A: As you charge up for melee range, neither of your attacks hit. You find only brown cloth swirling in front of you.
[00:55:09] Speaker C: Then I'm gonna back away.
Well, I guess I'll just. Yeah, stay and just be at the ready.
[00:55:19] Speaker A: But you're remaining in melee range.
[00:55:22] Speaker C: 10. Yeah, that's fine. I'll stay with the melee range. Just. Okay, you get.
[00:55:28] Speaker A: Okay. Stand your ground.
[00:55:31] Speaker F: Do you have a bonus action?
[00:55:33] Speaker C: I do, yeah.
[00:55:35] Speaker F: Can you use disengage for a bonus action?
[00:55:38] Speaker B: No, it's only if you're a rogue.
[00:55:40] Speaker F: Oh, right.
[00:55:43] Speaker B: Cunning. Cunning action.
[00:55:45] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:55:46] Speaker B: Disengages.
[00:55:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:55:47] Speaker F: Full action. Yeah. Right.
[00:55:49] Speaker B: But you get. You get two regular attacks as well though, right?
[00:55:53] Speaker C: Yeah. So I can. I can attack one more time, right?
[00:55:56] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah.
[00:55:56] Speaker B: You get two attacks with your main and then one bonus action. Secondary attack.
[00:56:03] Speaker C: And I'm gonna use inspiration.
Oh, There we go.
[00:56:10] Speaker A: 19 does not hit.
[00:56:13] Speaker C: Holy.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: That's a high AC.
[00:56:16] Speaker F: That was an 18 or a 19.
[00:56:18] Speaker C: 19.
[00:56:20] Speaker F: Fuck.
[00:56:22] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:56:24] Speaker C: God damn.
[00:56:26] Speaker A: And Rook, as you deal another blow to this cloaked figure, you're unable to connect.
And so now we're moving to Kaitoa. Oh, sorry. Can you roll a 1d4 rook 1d4.4. Oh. This is if Engo takes part in the battle. And so now you have a choice. Do you want Engo to take part in the battle?
[00:56:56] Speaker C: Hell yeah, I do.
[00:56:58] Speaker A: Okay, well, you knock him awake as you turn around and kind of glance at Steve, and Engo will be with you in initiative, sandwiched between you and Kaitoa. But he'll miss this round because he is still a little woozy. Kaitoa, you're up.
[00:57:25] Speaker F: This sucks.
Okay, I'm. How far did you say we were like to start? Just.
[00:57:33] Speaker A: Everyone is within 30 of the entrance or what used to be the entrance of the white chain.
[00:57:42] Speaker F: Can I use a free action? Free action? Yeah. Can I use that to pull out the. The Nafri amulet?
[00:57:53] Speaker A: Hold that at the ready.
[00:57:54] Speaker F: Yeah. Can I like put that in my fist?
[00:57:57] Speaker A: Are you gonna be swinging double handed? Giant weapons?
[00:58:01] Speaker F: Yeah. Is that possible yet?
[00:58:02] Speaker A: There'll be a risk of dropping the amulet.
[00:58:05] Speaker F: Ooh, no, never mind.
[00:58:08] Speaker A: It'll be a risk. It'll be fun. You'll roll a dice.
[00:58:12] Speaker F: No, I'm okay. So yeah, I'm gonna run up. I am going to. Yeah, I'm just gonna try running up. So I'm gonna use 30ft of movement. And because of the high EC, I'm not gonna great weapon, so I'm probably gonna miss.
So I'm just gonna hit with Vodog. But I am gonna reckless attack, so I have advantage to my strength.
[00:58:40] Speaker A: Do the heavy attack.
[00:58:42] Speaker F: Yeah, but I gotta hit a 20 or else it doesn't hit.
[00:58:45] Speaker B: And it's all about the gamble, baby. And the reckless attack means you've roll an advantage.
[00:58:50] Speaker F: Yeah, but then now I can at Least hit once and see what it does.
Yeah. No way. I'm not doing great weapon right now.
[00:58:58] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Straight roll.
[00:59:02] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah. Straight, straight roll.
[00:59:07] Speaker B: Do it in giant, too.
[00:59:08] Speaker F: Straight roll. Advantage to strength.
And I have two attacks. Oh, I'm just gonna.
So first one is.
What do we got?
We have the 16 is my highest, plus 6. So 22 for the first one to hit. Hey, and for the second one, I'll just roll it right now.
[00:59:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:59:41] Speaker F: 18 plus 6. So, yeah, 24 both hit.
[00:59:45] Speaker A: Those two hits from Vodog are huge deal.
[00:59:51] Speaker F: Damage two D12s, one reach, O, A12 and A. Okay, so 12 plus 5, 17 plus 3. So 20 damage for the first one.
[01:00:08] Speaker A: Okay. Are you adding the lightning damage to either of those hits?
[01:00:13] Speaker F: Yeah, both will get it.
[01:00:14] Speaker D: No.
[01:00:14] Speaker A: Oh, you're gonna flip the switch.
[01:00:16] Speaker F: Yeah. Or does her con beat a 12?
[01:00:21] Speaker A: She beats that.
[01:00:22] Speaker F: Yeah. So no Vodog on either, then. So 20 on the first one, the second one, and then baby.
12 damage.
So 22 damage in total.
[01:00:40] Speaker A: Was it all physical slashing, axe damage, or was there any lightning damage that didn't work?
[01:00:47] Speaker F: Yeah, the lightning didn't.
[01:00:51] Speaker A: Well, you land a sickening blow.
[01:00:56] Speaker F: So. Yeah, both hits, 22 in total.
[01:00:59] Speaker A: And after the first sickening blow, you know, you come around with an overhand chop, and you feel like beneath all of the brown drapery, you have found the target.
[01:01:14] Speaker F: Okay, I think that's all I can do.
[01:01:22] Speaker D: Oh, guys, I muted for.
For sirens, and I've made so many funny jokes, I realized nobody heard.
[01:01:31] Speaker B: They were all terrible jokes. No one laughed.
[01:01:34] Speaker A: Brandon muted. I see. Max muted. I'm like, that can't be right.
[01:01:38] Speaker D: Oh, no, I was. I. I was muted just because sirens went by. I've been dropping hilarity left and right.
[01:01:47] Speaker A: And then Dr. Zozo, you are right there at the crumbled wall, you know, 30ft from the action.
[01:01:56] Speaker F: Oh, for my bonus action, can I yell for the hitman Doug the hitman heart? Yeah.
[01:02:01] Speaker B: If you rage, that's your bonus action.
[01:02:03] Speaker F: Oh, right.
[01:02:04] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:02:05] Speaker F: Oh, no, no. I was already enraged when I. Before battle.
[01:02:09] Speaker A: That's true. We gave you the instant rage.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Never mind.
[01:02:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Your danger sense allows you to engage the rage. So. Sorry, do you want to let out a gigantic kind of steam whistle toot?
[01:02:22] Speaker F: Yeah. And. And just being yelled for, like dog.
[01:02:30] Speaker A: Okay. The steam blast goes up into the sky, and it reverberates around.
Dr. Zozo, you're up.
[01:02:43] Speaker E: Okay.
I'm going to mix a potion.
[01:02:50] Speaker F: I finally get to see Zozo hit.
[01:02:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:02:55] Speaker A: Let's see.
[01:02:57] Speaker E: Would I be able to get all of us in a ten foot radius?
[01:03:03] Speaker D: Well, Rook, Kaitoa and I are all together right now.
[01:03:09] Speaker F: Yeah. Steve's the only one sitting back.
[01:03:11] Speaker D: We're all. We've like, we've all surrounded her.
[01:03:14] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:03:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:03:15] Speaker B: I'd be the only. I'd be the only one outside of the ten foot radius.
[01:03:18] Speaker E: Okay. I'm gonna use.
[01:03:19] Speaker D: Steve never gets hit anyways.
[01:03:21] Speaker B: Try not to.
[01:03:23] Speaker E: I'm gonna use fortifying fumes.
[01:03:25] Speaker F: So.
[01:03:27] Speaker E: So I. I quickly mix a potion and throw it down and it causes fumes to erupt. Anyone who within 10ft in who they who inhales it gains 2d4 plus my modifier hit points. And they cause that much additional melee damage on the.
[01:03:50] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:03:52] Speaker E: Plus they get advantage on their next constitution saving throw.
[01:03:56] Speaker A: Sweet.
[01:03:57] Speaker D: Oh, roll it up, zozo.
[01:03:59] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:04:00] Speaker F: I need it from that stupid construct.
[01:04:03] Speaker A: That's seven plus four.
[01:04:07] Speaker D: Eleven.
[01:04:08] Speaker E: Yeah, eleven.
[01:04:10] Speaker F: So thank you.
[01:04:11] Speaker E: Everybody in that gets temporary points and will cause 11 additional.
[01:04:17] Speaker D: So is that damage the same damage that we'd cause with the weapon that we're using normally?
[01:04:24] Speaker F: I think yeah. No matter what your next attack is, you add 11 damage.
[01:04:28] Speaker D: But like for you it'd be slashing. But for Beleg. Like all my Hex Blade attacks are magic damage, so it would be 11 extra magic damage says.
[01:04:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:04:38] Speaker F: Deal.
[01:04:39] Speaker E: Additional damage on the next melee weapon attack then.
[01:04:43] Speaker A: Zozo, what does it look like as you manage to target the entire party, I guess, including yourself?
[01:04:52] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:04:53] Speaker E: Yeah. I'll get myself in there as well.
[01:04:54] Speaker A: What does this look like?
[01:04:56] Speaker D: This smells so good.
[01:04:59] Speaker E: Marshmallow grabs like a packet of powder and a little vial of liquid.
Just tosses it to the ground and explodes. Much like. Like a plume of blue smoke.
[01:05:14] Speaker D: Poor Steve. You could have started your drug phase.
[01:05:18] Speaker E: As everybody breathes in.
Oh, it smells like Vicks of April.
[01:05:25] Speaker D: I love that smell.
[01:05:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:27] Speaker B: Camphor.
[01:05:30] Speaker A: Is there anything else in your move, zozo? How have you used expanded your movement?
[01:05:37] Speaker E: Fly up outside of the building.
I'll go up, say 20ft.
[01:05:43] Speaker A: And then you would be ending your movement midair.
[01:05:47] Speaker E: Yeah, actually I'll perch on like the second floor. Like a piece of timber sticking out or something.
[01:05:57] Speaker A: So, okay, so you've expended your movement. You're no longer suspended midair and whoa. What an effect these fortifying fumes have on the battlefield. Party. You guys aren't just invigorated, like you feel supercharged.
[01:06:14] Speaker D: I'm a wreck.
[01:06:18] Speaker A: Was there anything else?
[01:06:20] Speaker D: Nope.
[01:06:21] Speaker A: That's all then. Party.
That is where we Will have to leave you tonight. Until the next time on Dungeons and Black.
[01:06:56] Speaker D: It.
[01:07:35] Speaker B: She's hard to hit. She is hard to hit.
[01:07:39] Speaker D: Yep.
[01:07:40] Speaker A: Will you guys stop?
[01:07:42] Speaker B: I hit twice.
[01:07:43] Speaker A: Give him nine rounds until clay Golem may return.
[01:07:50] Speaker F: Yeah, we gotta remember she can banish us to that world with a golem.
[01:07:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:07:57] Speaker D: And you're alone how many you're sent.
[01:08:00] Speaker B: To a room with a golem?
[01:08:02] Speaker D: Depends on how many 4th level spell slots she has too.
[01:08:06] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:08:08] Speaker E: Seems pretty powerful.
[01:08:11] Speaker B: First round is pretty much Steve's strongest round. I hit twice, so.
[01:08:17] Speaker F: Well, and that's. That's what I was thinking about. That great weapon mastery. It was like. Like we need to do damage and if I just do a swing and a miss, then like we're like, yeah, chisel away at her.
[01:08:30] Speaker D: I'm wondering.
[01:08:31] Speaker B: Sharpshooting. I'm not doing damage. I'm rolling D4s.
[01:08:33] Speaker F: That's not great.
[01:08:35] Speaker D: She had no mark from your daggers either, which is making me worry about physical damage.
[01:08:43] Speaker F: No, Vodog does have. What is it? Where is photo?
Oh, it just says a plus two to hit.
Yeah. And then thunder on top of that. But the thunder missed.
[01:08:56] Speaker D: Yeah. So we don't know if that worked or not. Then we can't see it.
I'm gonna try some melee damage right to her fucking face.
[01:09:08] Speaker B: I. Yeah. Steve busted his nut and hit twice, so that's. That's about it for him.
[01:09:15] Speaker D: I got my specter who. Who's like fucking plus seven to hit, which is sweet and handy. And she failed her con save, which makes me think that she might not have very good con. It's only a 10.
[01:09:28] Speaker F: No, she beat my con of 12.
[01:09:31] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:09:34] Speaker E: I've got a bunch of area of effect things, but now she's like surrounded.
[01:09:38] Speaker A: With the eyes is when I'm like.
[01:09:40] Speaker F: Oh, I'm willing to take a disengage and run.
[01:09:44] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:09:47] Speaker F: I want to stay up in her.
[01:09:49] Speaker D: Face just because she's not gonna attack us with melee.
[01:09:55] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:09:58] Speaker D: Yeah. So I'm. I want to stay right up in her face.
So if she tries to run away, we get opportunity attacks and.
[01:10:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:10:06] Speaker D: And just. Yeah.
[01:10:07] Speaker B: Trying to harass her really well though, I have to say.
[01:10:11] Speaker F: Yeah, we would have lost this battle had you not done that.
[01:10:15] Speaker D: I was pretty excited to get to.
[01:10:16] Speaker B: Use that style that on like if we can get someone to run up and grab her and put her in a grapple and then everyone else just like stab the out of her or something. I don't know.
[01:10:29] Speaker D: Yeah, that's. That's you, Kaitoa.
[01:10:32] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:10:33] Speaker D: You're the strong one, so she's not.
[01:10:36] Speaker B: Gonna like her strength. Her strength or dexterity is likely not going to be super high.
Anything we can do to, like, knock her prone to. To make it easier to hit her?
[01:10:50] Speaker D: Oberyn. Like Prince Oberyn's outfit.
[01:10:53] Speaker A: What is that actor's name? But I know the one. Yes. Very nice.
[01:10:57] Speaker D: Thank you.
[01:11:00] Speaker E: Pedro Pascal.
[01:11:02] Speaker A: Bingo. Pedro Pascal.
