[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am the Dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players and their level seven characters. Tomoe. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Hey, I'm Steve Touman. Human gloom stalker Ranger, level five rogue, level one fighter, level one. [00:00:30] Speaker A: Caleb Kaito Etata, level seven four barbarian Brandon. [00:00:39] Speaker C: I'm Ikaru Punshlay, level seven. Blood Hunter, half orc, dark lord freedom. [00:00:49] Speaker D: Hey, I'm beleg Dagar. I'm half elf hex blade warlock, level seven. And I'm not a Dark Lord. [00:01:00] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards. The party of four visit dorfills safe Shack. After conversation there, they pack away and go oldfoot atop horseback. But not before visiting the wizard and spear for just a little bit of magical and physical investigation. But the wizard is away, and so is Leah. After the tangle with a strange living countertop, a wood mimic that Kaitoa momentarily fuses with the party make, too the white chain which has had its sign removed. At the door, they all of a sudden spot two approaching people, one from behind. Doug, who has opened the door and let beleg in, who desperately wants. Upstairs, across the way, at the temple of Dan, the meat wagoneers and Kaitoa all of a sudden breaking out of the square, shooting a beam of light down to the southwest into the night sky. What are you doing now? As Kaitoa and Stolas, we have you crossed crossing the little bridge over the canal you guys have been over many times. And the three other party members just at the doorway of your establishment. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Are we going after Kaitoa? [00:02:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Steve has decided to follow Kaitoa. [00:02:47] Speaker C: Are we gonna stop him and go take care of. Is. [00:02:55] Speaker B: That what we're doing? We're marching, marching back on this. [00:02:58] Speaker D: I would like another long rest. [00:03:00] Speaker C: Go catch up to Kaitoa and decide what we're gonna do. Long rest is in order before anything, I believe. But I do think we should march on is and tie that up in a nice big bow. [00:03:12] Speaker D: Bloody crimson bow. [00:03:14] Speaker B: Yes, there in a big old dead. No bow. [00:03:19] Speaker A: No bow. [00:03:21] Speaker B: Speaking of bows, I need to go find a mystery. [00:03:25] Speaker D: No, we do have to do that. [00:03:27] Speaker A: It's part of my quest. Kai soa, we're gonna visit you in this moment as you walk across this little bridge over the canal. Stolas is still perched on your shoulder, and your amulet now is, you know, just pulsing a very low amber glow. What are you doing? And at the moment, as far as I can tell, when we left you off, you were still. You know, moving forward down south main street. But what are you doing now? I begin to look at it and follow it. I take a step right and watch it speak and take a step left and let it guide me. Okay. As you do so, you note that there is almost no change. And Kaitoa, can you roll perception? Yeah, 16. Kaitoa, do you hear that? Kaitoa. Do you speak kobold? I don't know. No. That's a no. Well, Kaitoa, as you shuffle quickly to the left and to the right, you know, checking if your homing stone is, you know, working and you go over to the edge of this canal. Kaitoa. You hear a sort of sinister wet cackling from all around you. Well, fuck them. Okay, as you look back, you were focusing on your homing stone there. Yeah. As you look back there is no change to the homing stone. It is pulsing. I. Yeah. And Kaitoa, can you please roll initiative as you are set upon from all four sides like creeping lizards? Kaitoa. There are about a dozen small, scaly grey kobolds about you. [00:05:55] Speaker D: Kaitoa. Smash. [00:05:58] Speaker A: Oh, it's a three. [00:06:02] Speaker D: Kaitoa. [00:06:03] Speaker A: Get smashed. [00:06:04] Speaker B: You roll it on an advantage now, right? [00:06:07] Speaker A: Initiative. [00:06:08] Speaker B: Initiative. [00:06:09] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. Finally. S six. Excellent. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Thanks. [00:06:19] Speaker C: Hello. [00:06:22] Speaker A: Hey. [00:06:22] Speaker B: I doubled the roll. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Yeah, no thanks. Okay, that's a 19. That'll tell you that. I have a couple of things here, Kaitoa. Attacking you. They're familiar to you, these types of kobolds. Kaitoa. They look very much like the ones that you slew on the island of Boule in the plaza of Poland. Those little bitches. Be familiar with their tiny blades. Yeah. 1712. Seven. How many hits we got so far, Kaitoa? One. That's in that. 22. So we go one hit and one. Nat 2012 917. Two hits in that. 20. Oh dear. That's a floor dice, Kaitoa. That is a 15 plus one. What? You're still 15. Or have you added anything to your ac? No, 15 is my ac. So, yeah, that will hit. Yeah. Okay, well, Kaitoa, the first round of these tiny kobolds are slashing at your legs and at your arms but then a different sort of attack is coming your way. Kaitoa. What is this? You have been hit by 16 points of fire damage as a blast comes from a small hooded kobold. Now you will see five of them scurry around to all four points. They seem to be forming a perimeter around the bridge. Kaitoa. And now you will take. Oh, that's a ranged attack. As well. That's a not 20, so I'm gonna roll some damage, buddy. That's two, not twenties. Five normal hits. [00:08:32] Speaker B: Jesus. [00:08:33] Speaker A: Go for it. I'm world rested. I got my d six here. Bring in 26 slashing and piercing damage. [00:08:49] Speaker D: That would have brought me down to seven hit points. [00:08:52] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:08:53] Speaker A: So, Kaitoa, you've now been assailed and you do note the movements. You know, half of them seem to crowd around you. The other half are taking some ranged attacks but seem to be forming a perimeter. And then this small hooded kobold, obviously not in your melee range. Kaitoa, you will act now. [00:09:19] Speaker D: But who's around sees all this, right? [00:09:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:23] Speaker D: Certain Stolas have initiative as well. [00:09:25] Speaker A: I rolled pretty low in initiative. [00:09:28] Speaker C: What did? [00:09:28] Speaker A: Stolas, bro, Stolas has not rolled. [00:09:32] Speaker B: Stolas can roll. [00:09:34] Speaker A: Probably after you act Kaito up. Yes. Stolas is on your shoulder looking very, uh, very statuesque. Well, um, who's the closest? I'd say equidistant. These little ankle biters, if you took a broom and swept them, you'd hit them all, all within your 5ft. [00:09:56] Speaker C: Just a little ankle biter. [00:10:00] Speaker B: You should turn broom into an axe. [00:10:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Let's start swinging. Uh, closest to the roll on ac. You know the drill. Minus five, plus ten. Oh, I'm not raged. Yeah. [00:10:24] Speaker D: Where'd Katoa go? [00:10:27] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:10:31] Speaker C: Hey, Rob. [00:10:33] Speaker A: Yeah? [00:10:34] Speaker C: We can't see Kaitoa as being attacked here. [00:10:38] Speaker A: No, you're about. I mean, if we want to go to the little map there, you're about, you know, just two to three minutes away. It's the same exact spot where you sort of left the party about a week ago now, when you were heading off to the quartermaster's barracks. So just out of view of the plaza of your establishment. Okay. And in the meantime, we will assume you all know where Kaitoa went. Yeah. [00:11:11] Speaker D: And we had all agreed to go after him already. [00:11:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:16] Speaker C: Let's do it. [00:11:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:18] Speaker C: Head off and towards Kaitoa. [00:11:23] Speaker A: Okay. As a group then, you three are now making your way out of the plaza. I assume you have not taken your riding horses with you because this is literally a one corner journey. And as you turn the corner, you three, Steve, you would be alerted, you know, in this moment to the fact that Stolas is within your visual range, but it is very dark. As you peer down South Main street, there is the bridge over the canal. And you can see almost a dozen small, dark shapes, it looks like, surrounding Kaitoa in the lamplight. All right. [00:12:10] Speaker B: And I guess from Stolas advantage that I have. I know exactly what's going on. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Hello. [00:12:19] Speaker B: Hey. [00:12:22] Speaker A: Thank God. Beautiful timing. You do know that Kaitoa has been ambushed? [00:12:30] Speaker B: Okay, I'll yell to the group. Cobbles, can I do as we get. [00:12:39] Speaker D: Okay. Little break starts running there. [00:12:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess Steve certainly breaks into a run. [00:12:48] Speaker C: Yeah, I will as well. And I'll pull up my voltaic. Mitchett. A short sword. [00:12:56] Speaker A: Uh, Robin, that's a 13 two attack. The longest hanging roll. Yeah, I know, sorry. [00:13:08] Speaker D: I'm just picturing like one of those montages where Caleb rolled the dice and it like fell through a crack and then went down the drain pipe and then got picked up by a bird and that's the whole reason you went away for so long. [00:13:22] Speaker A: And then I leg wrestled to get. [00:13:27] Speaker B: A rock through the rock at the bird. The bird fell into the sewer, went. [00:13:32] Speaker A: Down the street, down the gutter. Yeah. 13. Kaitoa. You hit one of these kobolds roll damage. Are you using that ancient great axe? The giant great axe? Yeah. Oh, that's a shitty ass roll. It's a four ferv like search for Vodog. Possible a d eight. Thunder, where are you? Kaitoa? [00:14:15] Speaker C: No. Kaitoa. [00:14:16] Speaker A: Oh, it's awfully dead. [00:14:22] Speaker D: Oh, I just saw a sign of life. [00:14:27] Speaker A: And then rest of the party, we are going back to you. As you see that axe come up and go down. You said you were all running. If we look on the map here, our little helpful tool, if you guys have dashed in one move, that'll get you almost all the way there. But not all the way there. [00:14:48] Speaker D: Well, I do. [00:14:50] Speaker B: Yeah, Steve. Steve's coming. Ground. That's the way possible to get into the fight. [00:14:56] Speaker C: Rook is two. [00:14:59] Speaker A: Okay, you guys are dashing. [00:15:01] Speaker B: Are we in. Are we in combat? [00:15:05] Speaker A: You will roll. Initiative U three. Rook half orc, bell egg half elf and Steve Tauman. Initiative. [00:15:15] Speaker B: All right. [00:15:22] Speaker D: 14 for bell egg. [00:15:24] Speaker B: Natural. 20 for Steve. [00:15:26] Speaker D: How stevulent of you. [00:15:29] Speaker C: And for rookie, that's an 18. [00:15:32] Speaker D: The rookie. [00:15:34] Speaker C: The rookie. [00:15:36] Speaker A: Oh, you're squeaking in between them. So, Steve. 20. Rook? 18. Bell egg. 14. [00:15:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:43] Speaker C: Squeaks. I squeaks. [00:15:44] Speaker A: Steve, you are up. Sweet. [00:15:48] Speaker B: Well, I don't have a bow right now, am I? How far away am I from these little bastards? [00:15:58] Speaker A: Okay, so if you guys dashed the 120, there was still 60ft to go. [00:16:05] Speaker B: So if I. Oh, six. Only 60ft between me and the. The next thing. [00:16:10] Speaker D: Yeah, you can dagger toss. [00:16:12] Speaker A: Yeah, that is correct. Yeah, that's correct. [00:16:14] Speaker B: So I full. I move my full speed like just, I do my full move. I suppose that puts me within what, 30, 30ft? [00:16:24] Speaker A: If you just do your normal move yet, that'll be up 30. [00:16:27] Speaker B: Okay, yeah, I'll do that. And then unleash some daggers on. Are these ones that are all around Kaitor or these another group that has yet to do anything. [00:16:42] Speaker A: So you have a dozen, you have six assaulting him at melee range. You have five sort of taking the four corners of this little bridge over the alleyway. And I have a map coming. And then you have one small hooded kobold with them accounting for six and six. [00:17:06] Speaker C: The. [00:17:07] Speaker B: The hooded ones in. [00:17:08] Speaker A: In range they are. [00:17:10] Speaker B: Well, without the map, he's gonna get the first dagger. That's a natural 20. [00:17:20] Speaker A: Wow. Okay, so you rolled damage on your single thrown spike is gonna have a lot of damage. [00:17:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:28] Speaker A: Fuck. [00:17:28] Speaker B: I should have put. I forgot to put hunters mark on it anyway. No merc, no mark. That's a no mark attack anyway. Three. [00:17:37] Speaker A: I can always. You can always go back in time. I'll let you roll a d four to see if you marked. [00:17:42] Speaker B: Sure. Okay, that's two. [00:17:47] Speaker A: No, you forgot to mark it in your haste as you dash toward. You are just throwing a spike and. Have we lost Kaitoa? [00:17:55] Speaker B: What the fuck? All right, I think that's the first hit. 22. [00:18:01] Speaker D: Are we fighting creatures with like ten health? [00:18:04] Speaker A: No, no, they have a higher average health than that, but not much higher. 22. Yeah. In one shot, you see your throwing spike bury itself into this cloak. And there does appear to be a slumping of this figure. Can't tell if he is down. Steve. [00:18:28] Speaker B: Okay, um, well, I'll just keep throwing daggers, but he looks like he's being knocked prone. [00:18:34] Speaker A: Yeah, you would say prone or bloodied. [00:18:37] Speaker B: Okay, well, fuck, I'll throw another one at him just to make sure. This time I will put a mark on him, though. So the bonus action gets to the mark. That's a really shitty roll. So that is not going to hit. It's a three. And then the last dagger. [00:18:58] Speaker D: The last. [00:18:59] Speaker B: Egg is another nat. 20. [00:19:01] Speaker D: What the fuck, man? [00:19:04] Speaker A: And now there's going to be, I think, some certainty here to the outcome. [00:19:09] Speaker B: Yeah. So two is three, plus 15 is 18, plus four for 22 again. [00:19:20] Speaker A: Well, now, even though it is dark, you can discern that the slump has turned into a complete collapse. Steve. And you're fairly sure that your foe here has been felled by thrown daggers. [00:19:35] Speaker B: There you go. That's my go. [00:19:37] Speaker A: Are you ending with any movement or do you expel all your movement to begin? [00:19:41] Speaker B: I did my standard move. [00:19:43] Speaker A: Okay, well, then. Well, I'll tell you what. Let's pause, figure out what's happening here with Kaitoa, or Caleb, rather, because the next person up in initiative would be rook. Squeaking in between, who would see a paralyzed kaitoa? Um, guys, your companion, there is no mistake about it. Your companion is frozen mid stroke. It looks like he is cloven, one of his foes, like, one third of the way through, and he is motionless. Rook, you are up, and you are exactly 60ft away. [00:20:41] Speaker C: Well, I do recall picking up a gnoll longbow after we destroyed them last time on our way back from is to pole. So I'm going to take aim with that new longbow one. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Yeah, well, one d twenty plus what? Five. And then one d eight plus two or three. [00:21:08] Speaker C: Yeah, one d eight plus two. I'm gonna take aim. There's still some. Some guys right around. Well, for the guys, right on over. [00:21:21] Speaker A: The guys. [00:21:21] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, I'll go for whoever's closest to. [00:21:25] Speaker A: Well, in that case, rook, I will give you advantage, because you are firing on their backs. They are lit, and you have dark vision, and for all intents and purposes, they're virtually stationary as they crowd around and stab into Kaitoa. [00:21:41] Speaker C: Okay, well, my first one was a 16, my second one non nat e 20. So I will take, obviously, that second one. And it's a plus two, correct? Amundo. Nice. That one is a full damage, so it's going to be an eight plus two. So ten. [00:22:03] Speaker A: Okay, you see this guy go down. This little kobold has received an arrow to the back of the head. You're fairly sure he is down? [00:22:14] Speaker C: Okay, I will take aim at the next one in line. Do I get advantage on this one, too? [00:22:22] Speaker A: Yes. Are you doing two attacks and then you'll still have movement. [00:22:26] Speaker C: All right, so the next one, I first roll. I thought it was a seven total for my hit, but my second roll is a 23 per vantage, and I. And on damage, that's seven damage. [00:22:44] Speaker A: And again, you find purchase with your arrow. Rook, you've hit one of these very diminutive armored figures. [00:22:56] Speaker C: Okay, and then how far away are the. Like, how far away from me are they? [00:23:04] Speaker A: You have Kaitoa in the center with six around him. It's a small bridge, so you'd say it would be about only 60ft from. From end to end as it goes over this little canal. So, you know, you're very close to the. The front, too. This hooded kobold has been taken down. So, you know, if you dashed up after taking your two arrow shots, there would be only two in your immediate range, but then you'd be out of actions, I think. [00:23:37] Speaker C: And there's 60ft. [00:23:40] Speaker A: Yeah, 50, 60ft from you now. Yep. [00:23:44] Speaker C: Okay, well, I will just dash up and get right there as I do. So I'll be putting my bow away and pulling out the. We'll take machete. And I'm actually. No, dang it. Oh, well, whatever. That's all right. I'll just run up. [00:24:06] Speaker B: What was that? [00:24:07] Speaker C: I was gonna put my bow in, pull up my machete as I was running, but Tomo says no. [00:24:16] Speaker A: Are you swooping in on sheathing rules, or has Steve just tried to steal something? [00:24:22] Speaker B: I didn't steal this, okay? [00:24:24] Speaker A: No, I would. [00:24:25] Speaker B: Oh, no, you can't do that, rook. I have stolen your weapon. [00:24:30] Speaker D: Sleight of hand check. [00:24:32] Speaker A: Within reason. Like, if somebody said, I'm going to use like, four to five weapons within one thing, as long as it makes sense within their character's ability. As you sheathe a couple weapons and pull out a bow, I'd say you've just managed to holster your bow. You're probably reaching to unsheathe. But now your tune, your turn, would be mostly concluded in terms of two attacks, all your movement. Anything else? [00:25:02] Speaker C: No. Nope. I'll stick with what I'm at. [00:25:07] Speaker A: Bella, you were up. [00:25:09] Speaker B: I'm up. [00:25:13] Speaker D: Alright. I'd like to fire two repalian eldritch blasts at two kobolds that are close to Kytila. Yeah, that's all I want to do. I just want to blast back two cobalts that are around Kaitoa. That's a Nat 20 on one. I didn't waste it, guys. I didn't waste it. [00:25:37] Speaker B: You got it back? [00:25:38] Speaker D: I got it back. So that's a one nat 20 and then 116. [00:25:46] Speaker A: Both hit. So you're targeting two near Kaitoa. Roll damage. [00:25:51] Speaker D: Yep. The first one is six damage. The second one is ten damage. The 6th damage was the crit, which is hilarious. And both blast back 10ft. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Both of these little guys are repelled. Back 20ft. [00:26:16] Speaker D: They should just be ten. [00:26:17] Speaker A: They are small, and the rise of this bridge means, you know, you're pushing them back off the center most piece. So, you know, they are clattering. [00:26:26] Speaker D: Oh, they're flying. [00:26:27] Speaker A: They're Claya. They're clattering down in their tiny little pieces of cobalt armor onto the cobblestones of pole. And they're virtually at the end of the little bridge over the canal here. Balagnad. Look like they were killed they're kind of out of view. But you essentially pushed half of this line around of Kaitoa right out of you. [00:26:51] Speaker D: Sweet. And I use the rest of my turn to run up 30ft, straight towards Kaitoa. [00:27:01] Speaker A: Okay, 30, but not 60. [00:27:04] Speaker D: No, no. I've already used an attack action. [00:27:07] Speaker A: So the distance is closed. Then we're back at the top of the order. Kaitoa in the moment, guys. You see him being assailed and there are several of these kobolds right up in his grill. But none of them. No, there is a hit. Yeah, there is a hit, guys. Steve, you're at the top of the order. As you hear little screeches and cries and the clattering of tiny spears off of Kaitoa's armor. You're off. [00:27:49] Speaker B: All right, have any of the kobolds broken off towards us or are they all still kind of focused on Kaitoa? [00:27:59] Speaker A: It looks like one, perhaps of the two closest to you guys has maybe remarked. But really, you have decimated the first five. I mean, there's only, I'd say one on this side of the bridge. Then there's Kaitoa surrounded by three, three more behind him. So this side of the bridge is almost clear of these small, gray, scaly folk. [00:28:24] Speaker B: Okay, so I continue to do my full standard move at the moment. How close is the closest? [00:28:34] Speaker A: Little bastard, you were right up there. So you have all six of them within 30ft, including Kaitoa. [00:28:44] Speaker B: Okay, well, the closest one, I guess I got through. Hold on a second. No, two. Two shots. It's been a while with these throwing spikes. Yeah. So I transfer Hunter's mark to the closest one and I chuck a spike at him. [00:29:02] Speaker A: Hunter's mark and a spike roll on ace. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Yeah, that is one. So 17 to hit easily. And that is two plus six for eight plus 15. 23. [00:29:19] Speaker A: 23. Damage is way in excess of what this kobold could bear on this little stat block. Yeah. How would you say you take him out? [00:29:30] Speaker B: I'm just like, sprinting up and like, half chucking them, chucking the daggers as I run past them, I guess. [00:29:38] Speaker A: Beautiful running shots. And he is down. And Steve, they are taking notice. You are seeing some of these guys. These little gray fellows start to take notice. And you hear their awful little voices and you see their teeth. Oh, they are mean, these little guys. [00:30:02] Speaker B: I can speak draconic. [00:30:05] Speaker A: You want to eat him? Feed him. [00:30:11] Speaker B: They want to eat Kaitoa. [00:30:13] Speaker A: We want to eat you, boy. Eat that, boy. And you seem to have attracted about three of them. And that would mean that you have Beleg and rook seeing Steve dash up. There's about seven of these kobolds. Two of them have been pushed back by beleg. But Steve is making an impression here, right at the midpoint of the bridge where it arches to the highest point. Steve, is there anything else in your move? [00:30:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I've got one more dagger to throw. [00:30:43] Speaker C: Ooh. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Well, then these guys who you've been taunting, I won't make you roll any sort of intimidation. I mean, you guys are trading words, but there are two that are clearly taunting with you. [00:30:55] Speaker B: Okay, well, I'll just. Yeah, I'll just answer them with the dagger. That's another 17. [00:31:01] Speaker A: It's a convincing argument. Roll damage. [00:31:05] Speaker B: So 315, 18 damage. I answer with the mouths of my cannons. [00:31:13] Speaker A: It is a one shot, one kill. And he hits the flat stones of the bridge. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Sweet. I give the other ones a finger. [00:31:25] Speaker A: That is your free action. Steve and rook Europe. And you see your little ponchoed companion making a stir of blood. [00:31:38] Speaker C: Okay, how many are directly in front of me here? [00:31:42] Speaker A: The motionless Kaitoa mid axe swing. You got Steve and sort of four kobolds there at the midpoint of the bridge. And then you can't tell. There's sort of two or three down on the back arc of the bridge. So there are seven, but four are closest. And you and Belek have yet to move up with Steve, who's like within 2020, 5ft at this point. [00:32:08] Speaker D: Steve, you fucking ballsy child. This is not Steve. You let. [00:32:16] Speaker B: Everyone else was running up with me. [00:32:19] Speaker D: Working on it. I will be up there with you, don't worry. [00:32:23] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm working on it too. I will go for the closest and unsheath my will take machete and take a swing. Actually, I'm gonna do my voltaic and a short sword. So first swing, Voltaic. Second swing, short sword, non nat 20. [00:32:45] Speaker A: Non nat 20. Okay, that hits. [00:32:47] Speaker C: Oh, and on my off hand, it's a Nat 20. So that's a 26. [00:32:52] Speaker A: So double damage on those. Okay, so are you targeting two kobolds independently, knowing that these guys are pretty squishy? [00:33:01] Speaker C: I will. Yes, yes, I will. Okay, so that's gonna be full damage is gonna be an eight with the baltic machete. Oh, my short swords at. Where is my six? Die. [00:33:20] Speaker A: There it is. You gotta have a million, woman. [00:33:23] Speaker D: Where is my six die. [00:33:28] Speaker C: So that one is seven damage. So twelve. [00:33:35] Speaker A: So one is dead, one is not. Rook, you take the arm off one and the other one, you cleave the head right off. [00:33:48] Speaker C: My other question is so would I get, like. So there's something to do with the great old one. And when you get a crit. Yeah. Whenever you deal a critical hit to a creature, that creature must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell. Save DC on a failure. The creature is frightened of you until the end of your next turn. Oh. [00:34:12] Speaker A: So frightened means that they actually have to take a pretty drastic measure. They have to, like, escape from you. Mm hmm. [00:34:21] Speaker C: So would that count, on my offhand. [00:34:24] Speaker A: Still, I can't see why not. That would mean the one that you only dealt below ten damage to. Although he would be loving to stay and gnaw at Steve. You've actually frightened that one. Frighten. [00:34:37] Speaker D: You don't have to run away. You just can't move closer willingly. [00:34:41] Speaker A: Oh, but this one is running away. That would only leave one and two near Kaitoa and Steve, and then three and four on the downside of the bridge. And one fleeing and very bloody. So, guys, there are five. [00:35:04] Speaker C: I get another attack donut. [00:35:06] Speaker A: That's true. Yeah, you. You would need to move another 5ft up to get the two near to Kaitoa and Steve, or you would have to run down the one you just frightened, who is totally bolting. [00:35:18] Speaker C: Okay, well, I'll let him bolt and I'm gonna move up to the. Whoever's closest are the one to near Kaito and Steve and make another attack with the machete. That one is going to be a 13. [00:35:36] Speaker A: Okay. As you prowl up, that hits. [00:35:40] Speaker C: Ooh. Okay, so that's a. That's an eight. Four damage. But I've got this bludgeoning lightning charge. That's a plus one. So I'm gonna use that plus the one that I'm gonna get off of him. Or I guess I can only use the one it charges after I hit him. Right, so that'll be nine. So eight regular, one budgeting. [00:36:03] Speaker A: And this was the one of the two standing closest to Kaitoa and Steve. [00:36:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:10] Speaker A: Oh, you just whack this guy away, you know, about two or 3ft back. [00:36:18] Speaker C: Nice. I'm gonna stand there chest and wink at Steve. Say, you're welcome. [00:36:28] Speaker B: I give a thumbs up to rook. [00:36:31] Speaker C: That is it for me, belly. Take it away. [00:36:35] Speaker D: Take it away. [00:36:37] Speaker A: Oh, and guys, in this moment, you see a little movement from Kaitoa, but very, very, very slowly, almost imperceptibly, I'm up. [00:36:51] Speaker D: I'm going to. I'm within 30ft of somebody. [00:36:56] Speaker C: Right. [00:36:57] Speaker D: That I can kill. [00:36:58] Speaker A: Yes, you have held back. You're just a little bit of behind rook. So you can identify all of the kobolds on the backside of the bridge, as well as the only one near Kaito and Steve? [00:37:13] Speaker D: I would like to. [00:37:15] Speaker C: If. [00:37:15] Speaker D: Would I incur an attack of opportunity if I ran past the one near Kaito and Steve? [00:37:20] Speaker A: You could just map a sort of question mark around him. [00:37:24] Speaker D: Okay. [00:37:25] Speaker A: Like you're in rage. [00:37:26] Speaker D: To do that, I'd like to go and attack the two closest to me that are, like, behind Steve or behind Kaitoa. Yeah. I'd like to get at my ten foot reach. I'd like to keep as many out of my ten foot reach as possible. The whole idea is that I'd be able to attack two and then incur attacks of opportunity if other guys came closer to me. So whatever helps allows me to do that. [00:37:54] Speaker A: You maneuver your ten foot polearm bubble. Yeah. [00:37:58] Speaker D: And I'm gonna roll to attack two of them. That is. That's actually pretty hefty. A 25. Non natural 20. It's an 18 plus seven. [00:38:11] Speaker A: Wow. [00:38:12] Speaker D: And a 24. So those will both hit. [00:38:15] Speaker A: Those do. Both hit. As you're ahead. Glaive flashes out roll damage. [00:38:23] Speaker D: All right, so that's an eleven on one and a four on the other. And then I'm gonna use my bonus action to try and boop. The guy that I only hit for four damage. [00:38:40] Speaker A: They who you dealt? Eleven. Two grunts and lets out some dark blood from their chest cavity, where you have impaled them right through the midline. And the other. [00:39:00] Speaker D: Just bringing up my polearm master, so I'm not fucking up. This butt end can use the butt end. Same ability modifiers. Wow, that's sweet. So that one's a 21. [00:39:11] Speaker A: Of course that hits. And as he is staggering back from your first slice, you whip around and. Is it bludgeoning? [00:39:20] Speaker D: Yeah, that's three. And I haven't been able to figure out if I add. It says I use the same ability modifiers, but it doesn't say if I add any damage modifiers to the D four. This attack uses the same ability modifier as the primary attack. The weapons damage die for. This attack is a D four, and it deals bludgeoning damage. It doesn't say if I add. [00:39:40] Speaker B: I think that's considered the ability modified. [00:39:43] Speaker D: Yeah. So I would add it. [00:39:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:45] Speaker D: Then it would be a six modifier. Yeah, seems right. So, yeah, six damage. [00:39:50] Speaker C: Yes. [00:39:50] Speaker D: The initial. [00:39:51] Speaker A: You're not just using a raw weapon score, so you've added your plus two to equal six. Who's that? Is that Caleb in or out? Is that Caleb? [00:40:00] Speaker B: Back, Caleb. [00:40:02] Speaker D: I add my charisma modifier to my attack. So it's plus three total damage with my initial hit. And my butt end to that guy is ten and then eleven to the other guy. [00:40:18] Speaker A: Well, as you fell both of these two in a quick flurry of masterful polearm moves. You look down at your forearm, and there is the outline of a great weapon. It is a blade in a glaive, elvish style. And it looks like it may even have a blade on the butt end, too. And as you know, as you felt, these two kobolds you hear in your mind, this would make a great story. Sweet moves. [00:41:14] Speaker D: Oh, thank you there, patron. [00:41:17] Speaker A: All right, Bellic, is there anything else in your move? [00:41:22] Speaker B: Nope. [00:41:23] Speaker D: I have used all of my actions. [00:41:27] Speaker A: Kobolds now are chattering and bitches best. [00:41:33] Speaker D: Be ready to get an opportunity attack. [00:41:35] Speaker A: They do not seem to be very brave. Now, these sort of. What is it? It's only like one and a half kobolds left. And five. They are going to take some real blind slashes at you, Steve. And the other one that's almost dead here, that is prone. Bellic, this is the one that you ejected off the midpoint of the bridge. Yeah, he's getting up, you know, so he's now stood up. And in this moment, then Kaitoa is still standing there like a statue. And Steve, you are up. [00:42:21] Speaker B: All right. I forget to roll for Stolas, too. He's just been hanging out on top of Kaitoa all of this time. [00:42:32] Speaker A: You like a bird on a statue, Steve? Yes. Stolas has remained almost motionless throughout the foray. And why not? For these little foes were only at, you know, what is it like knee height to Kaitoa? But, yes, you are up, Steve. [00:42:54] Speaker B: Hey, Stolas, let's get some poop and swoop going. [00:43:03] Speaker A: When you exclaim that immediately, Stolas head turns around like an owl, is prone to do 180 degrees, looks right at you, and is either coming into initiative before or after you. [00:43:18] Speaker B: I'm going to pick before. [00:43:21] Speaker A: Very well. You can lend the help by the loosening of the owl bowels. [00:43:27] Speaker B: I'm going to have him swoop up to the knoll that I'm about to throw a dagger at and do a little health action. [00:43:38] Speaker A: You will get advantage. [00:43:40] Speaker B: Excellent. I'm also. Okay, so I'm going to apply the mark to that little kobold. [00:43:48] Speaker A: This little great kobold. Yep. [00:43:50] Speaker B: Let me help him out there. That's an unnatural 20. [00:43:55] Speaker D: Geez, we're having pretty good attack rolls today. [00:43:58] Speaker B: And that is five plus 15 for 20 points. [00:44:03] Speaker A: Well, Steve, I will let you describe how your throwing spike or throwing dagger is burying it. [00:44:11] Speaker B: Well, I just think it's just going, like, straight through, like, just a clean shot, like, in through the front of the face. Big, nasty explosion. [00:44:25] Speaker A: And as you describe it, has gone clean through his squishy skull. [00:44:31] Speaker B: How many cobbles are left? [00:44:33] Speaker A: But point 25. [00:44:38] Speaker B: All right, well, he gets a dagger. [00:44:40] Speaker A: Okay, well, the one just standing up near to you, rook. Now roll on ac. [00:44:48] Speaker B: I'm. Yeah, okay. Yeah, that's not great. [00:44:54] Speaker D: Will you kill himself, Steve? [00:44:56] Speaker A: No, probably not. [00:44:57] Speaker B: That's a six. [00:45:02] Speaker A: Yes. [00:45:03] Speaker B: The brains on the cobblestones. Yeah, I just put my foot in, like, a bit of brain and slipped off at the last bit shot. [00:45:13] Speaker A: There is the momentary distraction as you slip in cobalt cranium, and your spike is gone wide. So that would mean that. Rook. Unless. Kaitoa, do we have you back, bud? [00:45:30] Speaker D: No, he's gone for good. [00:45:33] Speaker A: Gone for good. Well, yes. Sorry, rook, you are up. [00:45:40] Speaker C: Who's left? Who's going down? [00:45:43] Speaker A: Point 25 of a small gray kobold who has just stood up, brandishing a tiny buckler. And it looks like a spear, you know, a short spear. And funnily enough, Steve just slipped in brains and missed. [00:46:07] Speaker C: I will. Yeah, target him. And he's getting my full attention here. So we'll take Machete and short story. [00:46:19] Speaker A: Okay. Dash up 15 roll on Ac. Two D. Twenty s at the same time to represent your dual wield attack. [00:46:30] Speaker C: Machete is 19. Oh, and the second one, my short sword, is another nat 20 roll damage. [00:46:40] Speaker A: But you might as well just describe how you killed this go ball. There's no way. [00:46:52] Speaker C: He'S gonna be frightened, then mushed. So we got it. [00:46:58] Speaker D: Nothing worse than being frightened and then mush. [00:47:02] Speaker C: Oh. So with the voltaic machete he's gonna take, that's gonna be a total twelve damage. And then with the short sword he's got, that's gonna be another eleven damage. So 23 total. So I. As I see him get to his feet and gather his belongings, as he's still in a daze, I just quickly come through with my machete and end his life. And then as he's lifeless there on the ground, I kind of poke him with another eleven damage with my short sword, just to make sure. [00:47:47] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I almost imagine you have sliced him several times through. [00:47:54] Speaker C: Yeah. Is there anybody else gonna survey the area? And is there any other survey says cobble? Hey, potato salad. [00:48:09] Speaker B: 13 people said potato salad. [00:48:15] Speaker A: That was great. Obviously, that was all in character. Guys, you are out of initiative. [00:48:23] Speaker C: Okay, should we. Kaito is not moving and we need a long rest. So we move him back to the white chain and get arrested. [00:48:37] Speaker D: Valley goes up to Kaitoa, grabs him and casts dimension door into the main eating area of the white chain. Yeah. [00:48:47] Speaker A: Okay. How far does your dimension door allow you to go? This is not far at all, but, oh, 500ft. Yeah, if you teleport directly. Yeah, as the crow flies. You can just make it? Sure. [00:49:03] Speaker D: Perfect. [00:49:07] Speaker C: Okay. And I'm heading back to the weight chain. Come on, Steve. [00:49:11] Speaker B: Yep. [00:49:11] Speaker C: Let's do this. [00:49:13] Speaker B: I go with rook. [00:49:16] Speaker A: Okay, you two, on foot. As you are walking away from the carnage, that pony cart and two fellows who drive it are following up. They are coming down south main street. O masters, loads and lieges. What's this here? A little work late at night, you. [00:49:45] Speaker C: Know what to do. And I'm gonna flip them a copper. [00:49:50] Speaker A: I'll grab that. That we do. Any other bodies piled up against the walls? [00:49:55] Speaker C: Maybe search around? I'm sure there's a few. [00:50:00] Speaker A: Really, though, we better know. What's the body count, my lord, what. [00:50:06] Speaker C: Was the body count? Was that twelve total? [00:50:10] Speaker A: I heard a number. And they start moving along to collect, ostensibly, twelve little bodies from the bridge over the canal. [00:50:23] Speaker C: You know where to take the weapons and armory. We're at the white chain, as always. Take the meat as you will. Bring the goods to us. [00:50:34] Speaker B: Bring back some bowstrings, please. [00:50:37] Speaker A: Bow strings. Not my specialty. Rosebuds. Fletchery. Good meat, you say? Well, I will be the judge. Is it fit for a poem, sausage? Usually the answer is yes. And they are just now leaving your view guys. Having been given coin and direction, the meat wagoneers are off and. But boy, it is late, folks. You know, after this small ambush at the canal, and you just walk away from it, sending your cleanup crew, beleg, you would be taking Kaitoa where now that you have transported him and you are right in the. Well, your establishment can't call it the white chain anymore, even though it does have this huge chandelier that is, you know, made out of a wrought iron chain painted white. But what have you done with him? [00:51:46] Speaker D: Belleg maneuvers Kaitoa into a chair at the table, puts his hand on a chalice of wine, poses him into nice relaxation pose. And then Beleg sits in the chair beside Kaitoa, does the exact same pose and casts the sky to look like Kaitoa. And then waits. [00:52:10] Speaker B: For his prank. Where's Dwarf Vader? [00:52:16] Speaker D: We left him with Dora, Phil, didn't we? [00:52:18] Speaker A: No, you had taken him all the way. Now, I can only assume one of two things, guys. And you. You obviously helped me here. You either took him with you, and I asked you specifically, have you taken everything with you, including your adventurer's packs? And you guys said, yes. And then I said, have you left anything at the white chain? And you said, no. So Engo is with you. [00:52:42] Speaker B: Okay. [00:52:43] Speaker A: Or you can counter me and say that you did something different with him, but I'm not sure how that's gonna work out. [00:52:52] Speaker D: I'd say Eggo being with us makes sense. [00:52:54] Speaker A: Okay, well, then he was strapped to Rook's back. [00:52:58] Speaker D: That explains the quick sheathing. Ango was just passing him weapons. [00:53:08] Speaker B: Porter, I was drunk. [00:53:14] Speaker A: And, Rook, you have vomit all over your back. The price you paid, you know, for that move where you shot two arrows, dashed up 60ft and unsheathed your weapons, is that Engo, lashed to your back backwards, reverse Yoda style, has upset his stomach all over your nice red tunic. [00:53:40] Speaker C: You son of a gun. [00:53:41] Speaker B: Rob, I want to grab a coaster from the bar, and sure, I can toss it at his head. [00:53:48] Speaker C: Are we back in the white chain? [00:53:50] Speaker A: Yes. I mean, as you guys dash away, you would, for all intents and purposes, have nothing stopping you from getting back to the white chain. So, Stephen, Rook, as you burst in to your establishment, Steve. Yes, there are coasters. And Rook. Yes. You guys are obviously now marched back. [00:54:12] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna lock the door behind us as we come through. [00:54:16] Speaker B: I want to throw something at Odom to get his. To get his attention, but I don't want to hurt him. So a coaster or an item that. That isn't hard or sharp. [00:54:30] Speaker A: Oh, sorry. Who are you launching a coaster at? [00:54:34] Speaker B: At Odom? The dwarf Vader. [00:54:36] Speaker A: Oh. Angle oldfoot. Sorry. [00:54:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:54:42] Speaker A: Okay, Steve. Well, then. So, rook, as you walked back in, Steve is now launching a coaster. It's a cork coaster. It's made out of cork. And can you roll as, you know, an accuracy or dexterity, Steve? Sure. [00:55:03] Speaker B: Dexterity works, I guess. [00:55:05] Speaker A: Yep. Hello. Hello. [00:55:09] Speaker D: Hello. [00:55:16] Speaker B: That is a non natural 20. [00:55:19] Speaker A: Okay. In this moment, friends, Steve's cork coaster bops Engo. And your intended effect was what, Steve? [00:55:34] Speaker B: I want his attention. [00:55:35] Speaker A: Okay. Bops Engo right on the bridge of his nose. This is where beleg punched him before. [00:55:44] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:55:46] Speaker A: And even though this cork coaster is light, you kind of open the scab up and it starts bleeding anew, and you have roused the dwarven veteran here. [00:56:01] Speaker B: Why are there kobolds in pulp? [00:56:04] Speaker C: Or that happens, I'm gonna cut a blue off my back and shrug him off on the floor because I don't want his vomit and blood on the fucker. [00:56:15] Speaker A: Kaitoa wakes up and catches him off of Rook's back. I got you. Yeah. [00:56:25] Speaker D: Bellic still looking like Kaitoa. Really pissed off. Nobody acknowledged him. [00:56:31] Speaker A: Friends and adventurers, in this moment, the real Kaitoa Tata. All of a sudden moves. He's been motionless and gets Engo without hitting the floor. And the other Kaitoa, balag Dagar, half elf, shapeshifter, man of many faces, crosses his arms and lets out a very convincing little toot of steam. [00:57:02] Speaker D: Damn straight I do. And then I go to bed to long rest. [00:57:09] Speaker B: I'm going to bed. [00:57:10] Speaker A: This is bullshit. [00:57:14] Speaker D: Entered at a good spot story wise. [00:57:17] Speaker C: Yeah. Got toe with safe and sound back at the white chain. [00:57:22] Speaker A: Yeah. And that, friends and adventurers, is where we'll have to leave you. Until the next time on dungeons and blackguards. [00:58:34] Speaker B: You know what I found and I think I'm gonna drink it. My new Belgium lips of faith litter. [00:58:39] Speaker A: Oh, no way. [00:58:40] Speaker B: Wow. [00:58:41] Speaker A: Such a good beer, dude. Damn. [00:58:46] Speaker C: Oh, it's so good. [00:58:47] Speaker D: You just like, reach under your couch and pull out a bottle of beer or something. [00:58:51] Speaker B: It was at the back of my beer fridge and I hadn't seen it in forever. [00:58:55] Speaker A: They snap a photo of that just like, I gotta pasteurize their beers. [00:59:00] Speaker D: Hey, it's a classic beer. [00:59:02] Speaker A: Yeah, it's new belgian. Yeah. [00:59:04] Speaker C: Yeah. They pasteurize all their sours because they want you to drink it right away as is. Yeah. [00:59:12] Speaker A: And they don't. They don't want to fear things growing in bottles, so. [00:59:19] Speaker C: Well, they. The theory of it, I guess, too, is they're picking the time when that sour beer is, like, the most optimum, flavor wise. So they want you to enjoy it right away as opposed to, like, a canty on where you can let it age and kind of get different funky flavors going on. [00:59:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:35] Speaker C: Oh, I like the growth. Give me the growth. [00:59:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:43] Speaker D: Oh, man. [00:59:45] Speaker B: Hilarious. [00:59:50] Speaker D: Shit. [00:59:55] Speaker C: I just wasted it. [00:59:59] Speaker D: Wasted. It's okay. I also wasted a five and a three.
