[00:00:02] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Miranda? [00:00:17] Speaker B: I am Ekaruk Unshlay, Ap Orc. Level six bloodhunter. [00:00:24] Speaker A: Caleb. [00:00:25] Speaker C: I am Kaito Otaka. I have an axe. I am a warforged barbarian. [00:00:32] Speaker A: Tobo. [00:00:34] Speaker D: Hey. [00:00:34] Speaker E: I'm Steve Tedman. I am a level five gloom stalker ranger. Level one rogue. [00:00:40] Speaker D: And I am a match gower multiclasser. [00:00:44] Speaker E: Fancy. [00:00:47] Speaker D: I'm Raiden. I am playing bellic de garde. Level six half elf warlock. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards. The figure in Blue is borne away by Beleg on dragon wings, but not before he heals the party en masse. Then he uses dragon breath to deal mass damage, halving the enemies still on the battlefield before swooping away into the night. Then the long pursuit comes to a head as the three remaining party members engage these enemies, much reduced from their original alarming numbers. Beleg, though, drops from the sky. Now separated from the party, rook chops limbs off as he enters on horseback. Kaitoa tries in vain, but is paused and motionless as a knoll strikes into his cryo chamber. And Steve breaks his bowstring. Stolas is halfway between the now separated parties. It is well past midnight now. What are you guys doing? [00:02:13] Speaker E: Uh, we call my ankles and praying to combat's done. We murdered everyone, right? [00:02:22] Speaker A: As far as I can tell. And just going back to roll 20, we had one surviving gnoll. Not him. He's the one that was pinned. Get rid of him. Oh, you had one surviving gnoll that had been shot in the neck, like, gurgling or something. [00:02:45] Speaker D: I'm all black on roll 20. [00:02:47] Speaker C: Weird. [00:02:47] Speaker A: He's near ish to rook. [00:02:52] Speaker E: Is he incapacitated? [00:02:54] Speaker A: There is one in rigor mortis on Kaitoa's right arm. And you shot the one, Steve, who did you kill? The one who took the slice on Kaitoa's backpack? That's the question. [00:03:09] Speaker E: Yeah, I lit his ass. Yeah. Okay. [00:03:11] Speaker A: Oh, it went through the back of his head. [00:03:13] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah, it fucked him up. Okay, he's done. [00:03:18] Speaker A: One remain. The rest are gone. [00:03:22] Speaker E: Is he still in fighting, or is he incapacitated? [00:03:26] Speaker A: Let's roll. He is feisty. He is still brandishing a scimitar. He is dismounted. He seems to be seriously bloodied, but he is feisty. [00:03:44] Speaker E: Am I still in combat? [00:03:46] Speaker A: Technically, yeah. Would have one more target on the field, so. Sure you would still be in initiative, but I don't know. I think we might have ended with them. We'll see if they took the hit on Kaitoa, then Steve took the hit on them. Rook would be up. [00:04:05] Speaker B: So I'm killing this guy, Rook. [00:04:07] Speaker E: Let's take him live. We have questions. [00:04:13] Speaker B: I don't know about that one. Last time we took somebody. [00:04:16] Speaker D: Liver grumble. [00:04:19] Speaker B: That was a grumble. [00:04:23] Speaker E: These aren't regular nulls. I want to find out who they are. [00:04:26] Speaker B: Yeah, last time we did that, we put buddy in our tickle trunk and he na free, and he got away and caused a bunch of shit. [00:04:36] Speaker E: Well, cut off his legs. [00:04:37] Speaker C: I could go for shaving off a dude's ear right now. I'm down for it. [00:04:45] Speaker B: That was my grumble. Remembering Nafri. [00:04:48] Speaker C: It's been a minute since I've tortured a dude. I'm down for it right now. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Well, after seeing what? How Kaitoa feels about taking a little nick to his Chris backpack, I figure if that's what he wants, let's do it. I'm gonna knock this guy, I guess. Yeah, I'll go and knock him out. [00:05:23] Speaker C: How does it feel to have your balls cryogenically frozen? [00:05:30] Speaker A: Give him a dip. Kaitoa, get ready. [00:05:37] Speaker D: Liquid nitrogen. Nuts. [00:05:38] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:05:44] Speaker B: You want me to roll for that, Rob? To knock this guy out? [00:05:47] Speaker A: Or do you intend to do this still on horseback mounted, rook? Or do you intend to dismount? And what weapon are you using to hit him? [00:05:55] Speaker B: Oh, actually, no. I'm gonna use my horse. I'm gonna use my horse to attack him. [00:06:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:06:04] Speaker B: Run him down. Knock. [00:06:06] Speaker C: Knock him down as he dies. Yeah. [00:06:09] Speaker A: Okay, so in this case, do you intend not to kill? [00:06:13] Speaker B: Yes. [00:06:15] Speaker A: All right, then. Can you roll an animal handling? And I'm gonna use that as sort of a provision before you roll your trample. [00:06:24] Speaker C: I hope he does, 1717. [00:06:29] Speaker A: The animal handling is great. So you are rearing up and you're knocking him out with the rearing horse hooves. [00:06:37] Speaker B: Heck yeah. [00:06:37] Speaker A: That kind of makes sense. [00:06:39] Speaker C: Kind of like a braveheart movie style where it's just like rearing horse. Clump. Clump in the face. [00:06:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:47] Speaker E: Yes. [00:06:48] Speaker A: Okay, let's give him a poop. Boop him. [00:06:51] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:06:52] Speaker B: What? So am I just using my. [00:06:55] Speaker A: My regular hit roll on a straight, damage a d twelve. [00:07:04] Speaker C: I hope you kill him. [00:07:09] Speaker B: Okay, the d twelve. [00:07:11] Speaker C: This is where Kaitoa goes really dark. [00:07:17] Speaker D: What did you see when you stared into your mood ring? [00:07:22] Speaker E: Death. [00:07:24] Speaker B: Straight up d twelve. Right? I'm not adding anything to this bad boy. [00:07:28] Speaker A: Yeah, we're using the d twelve as a representation of what the horse hooves are doing here. And I think you've achieved what you wanted. [00:07:43] Speaker B: Nice. So, um. Yeah. All right, well, if I've knocked him out, then I'm gonna look at both them and say, he's all yours. [00:07:53] Speaker A: Sweet. [00:07:54] Speaker E: I'm gonna tie this motherfucker up. [00:07:56] Speaker C: Yep. [00:07:58] Speaker E: Check for. Check for any extra weapons. Tie him up? [00:08:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I want to see if I can grab another bow suck. Not having a long range weapon. [00:08:09] Speaker E: I just don't want any surprises. Should he actually have a dagger tucked away somewhere? [00:08:17] Speaker C: How about I just crush both of his hands? [00:08:20] Speaker E: That works too. [00:08:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:08:23] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:24] Speaker D: Make his knees bend the other way. [00:08:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Let's just start with squeezing his hands until they're mushdeenen. [00:08:33] Speaker A: That works. [00:08:35] Speaker E: I do need something to tire. Something like an anchor to tie these ropes around a bit. [00:08:41] Speaker C: Kaitoa handshake. [00:08:44] Speaker D: It's a good thing Kaitoa can never get pregnant. It sucks to have to hold your hand. [00:08:49] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. [00:08:52] Speaker D: Just letting out some steamy. [00:08:56] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, just. [00:08:58] Speaker A: Just. [00:09:00] Speaker C: Yeah, just wait till that fucking. Wow. What is that? Exercise? [00:09:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:09:09] Speaker A: Yeah. As you three move up together around this freshly knocked out knoll Kaitoa, there is some blue steam still sort of erupting and hissing and making a slightest whistling noise coming out of your backpack sarcophagus. But you three are now right around this gnoll. There is the body of a dead horse right beside him. A couple of the horses have survived. There is that patch of acid splash damage from the dragon's breath, but otherwise. Rook, you were asking about the state of some weapons. There is longbow amongst the short bows. And those seven final null riders that you guys took out, all of their equipment is intact. [00:10:07] Speaker E: What? Now that we're closer to these guys, part of my action of rifling through this guy's shit for any actual weapons. Are these actual knoll? Would this be crude hides that these people, these knolls are wearing and their equipment? Or is it standard knoll equipment that I'm. That we're seeing? [00:10:30] Speaker A: Steve, can you roll something like a history, culture, etc. [00:10:40] Speaker E: Okay, I guess history. I would be the only one, right? Sure. [00:10:47] Speaker A: Let's see. How much knowledge can Steve apply to this question he has in his mind? [00:10:56] Speaker E: Okay, what about this? If I posited it this way, with my history of fighting humanoids and gnolls and all these guys, it. Does this seem like the. Like the standard, all that I fought before, would I use survival for that? [00:11:13] Speaker A: Sure. Yes, I like it. Leverage survival instead. Yeah. [00:11:17] Speaker E: Yes. That's so much better. 20. 418 plus six. [00:11:27] Speaker A: Well, as far as most civilized cultures are concerned. Here in central Behru knows, are a monstrous race, a menace, led by pack leaders, motivated by blood. You know, they actually do have. And, Steve, you would know this. They do have a culture. You know, for instance, they worship the war God kudur, who slayed so many of his enemies that the null race was born in the entrails of his destruction. So they worship a sort of warrior type God. And you know, that there are hints of, you know, gnoll culture that you have heard were wiped out at the end of the goblin wars. So, you know, are these gnolls typical? Certainly not, for they are well armed, they are well armored. They are displaying some kind of military tactics. They are abnormal in that sense. And Steve has some insights as well, that they are not absolutely heartless monsters. They are not bred from, you know, stone or mud or sorcery. You know, they have, you know, pups and litters and all these sorts of things. [00:13:00] Speaker C: Robin, can I search this knoll for any scrap metal and something? I could use my. My tools on to somewhat patch the crisp om on my back from leaking Freon. [00:13:19] Speaker A: Okay, so you are going to start scrounging for some patching material. [00:13:23] Speaker C: Yes, if these are nulls with metals, yeah. [00:13:27] Speaker A: Oh, certainly. I mean, there's. There's a lot of armor you could use, Steve, does that address your angle? [00:13:35] Speaker E: Yeah, so far as from just a visual point of view. I'm gonna tie this guy up, bind him up, and then if rook can help me get him onto a horse. [00:13:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I can. I can. I'm gonna get off my horse and snag one of the bows that's nearby me. I want another nice, long bow. [00:13:54] Speaker E: Or, I mean, we can do this here. Rest. Do our long rest. Wait for him, like, I mean, certainly tie him up. We don't need to take them back to pull with us, but I want to ask some questions. [00:14:06] Speaker B: Do we want to do that right here? Do we want to find somewhere kind of away from the trail and my. [00:14:15] Speaker E: Recollection of the area, is there a more defensible area, better place to stay? I'm trying to recall. Is there a better ground, better place that we can make camp. [00:14:31] Speaker C: Nearby? [00:14:31] Speaker A: Okay. As you look westwards, as you think about the road from Pol to is all three of you, but perhaps you in particular, Steve, with your background, there is more of a changing landscape. And these are the ridges behind which you lost visual contact with Beleg and Beleg's dragon as you get further and further from Pulba plains. So, yes, I mean, if you continued, for instance, only maybe the next half an hour or 45 minutes of travel west by northwest, you are entering better landscape for camping or for making camp at night. [00:15:15] Speaker D: Okay. [00:15:16] Speaker B: That's right. [00:15:18] Speaker E: A good place to go. I. At the same time, I'd like Stolas lost sight of Beleg. I'd like Stolas to. To keep an eye out for him as he continues onwards. [00:15:36] Speaker A: Okay, noted. We have Stolas then still on that same command, Steve, to look out in front of you. And now keep a particular eye out for Bellic. [00:15:50] Speaker E: Yeah. I don't know how fast the dragon. I guess the dragon would. Would outd fly Stolas pretty easily. [00:15:56] Speaker C: He's got some big wings. Yeah. [00:16:00] Speaker E: I don't know what the dragon speed. Is it probably faster than Stolas? Yeah, just. Just to keep an eye out, I guess. [00:16:09] Speaker A: Okay, Kaitoa, would you like to roll a your repair kit, your warforged tool kit, as you scrounge around? I mean, there's all kinds of plate armor. There's no shortage of things you could use for material. [00:16:31] Speaker C: What do you want me to roll? [00:16:34] Speaker A: Why don't you roll something involving that use of your hands, crafting as you are, obviously, you're able to take off your Kris blick sarcophagus, your backpack here, and as you do so to inspect it. Yeah. This slash has ruptured this material between the lid and the main chamber. And it appears that about a, like, a gold coin sized fissure is letting this blue steam shoot out. And it is cold. [00:17:23] Speaker C: Either, like, survival or medicine. [00:17:28] Speaker A: I would take either. Either intrigue me. [00:17:33] Speaker C: I'm gonna go through survival as a bit of, like, a desperation repair. And I got a 14. [00:17:42] Speaker A: Okay. This definitely involves survival. Well, what material would you say, and what would you say you're trying to do? And I will use your description to add a modifier. [00:17:56] Speaker C: I am gonna look at this. You said about a dollar sized or. [00:18:03] Speaker A: Like, a silver piece? Gold piece sized. [00:18:08] Speaker C: So I see this knoll has a shiny gold tooth, and I am just gonna punch his face as hard as I can and pop this molar out, and I kind of shove it in this hole and try, try and plug it the best I can. [00:18:28] Speaker A: That is an interesting ingredient. And can you add, because it's wedge shaped. [00:18:34] Speaker C: So I'm hoping that it's going to create, like, a bit of a bun. [00:18:39] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, a little plug. Okay. And can you then roll a d four, kaitoa? [00:18:47] Speaker C: Yeah, I got a two. [00:18:51] Speaker A: Well, this is strange indeed. A gnoll that has had some rather advanced dentistry performed on him. But this falls right in line with what Steve has been realizing and thinking. These gnolls seem to have become somewhat civilized, if you would use that word. [00:19:15] Speaker C: If they got family and armor. This fokker has a nice fang. [00:19:20] Speaker A: And at the moment, you have plugged the fissure, although you start to see a sort of crystallization and cold seal forming around that gold tooth kaitoa. So it seems to have formed a seal that is working for now. And the blue cold steam stops. [00:19:48] Speaker C: It needs patched, though. This is temporary. [00:19:53] Speaker A: Beleg. Half elf. [00:19:55] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:19:57] Speaker A: This figure in blue armor has dropped to the ground beside you as you try to take a couple steps. His weight, the pure weight, is just too much for one mandev to bear. And. What are you doing? [00:20:15] Speaker D: Oh. So how far away are we from, uh, Philip? [00:20:20] Speaker A: Oh, is it Philip or Lionel? I'm confused. [00:20:23] Speaker D: I thought it was Lionel, and then he was referred to as Phillip all last episode. [00:20:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, he changed to Philip or Lionel at some point because I sang. [00:20:31] Speaker D: Him commodore's references at one. [00:20:33] Speaker C: It's his surname. [00:20:35] Speaker A: It's definitely Lionel. It's definitely Lionel. [00:20:38] Speaker D: Lionel. Philip. [00:20:40] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, he's got a last name. Well, Lionel, you coaxed on to his legs, and he is walking beside you. But, you know, when you tried to load you and the figure onto Lionel, it was just a mess. [00:20:59] Speaker D: All right, I'm gonna tell lionel to lie down. I'm gonna prop the figure up against Lionel. We're gonna use Lionel as, like, a couch, backrest. Lay the figure down, and I'm gonna reach for his helmet, try and remove it. [00:21:27] Speaker A: This helmet does have a visor. [00:21:34] Speaker D: Oh. Then I'll lift up the visor. [00:21:37] Speaker C: Hello. [00:21:41] Speaker A: And as you. How is that sound effect there? [00:21:47] Speaker D: Glorious. [00:21:49] Speaker A: As this visor opens Beleg, you see the face of a dwarf. He appears to have very little vitality left, but his eyes still burn with what looks like rage. [00:22:15] Speaker D: Sorry, I'm just writing it down. Eyes of rage. You got some planning to do? Can you talk? [00:22:24] Speaker C: I can cool down those icy eyes with a puff of the tooth. [00:22:35] Speaker A: I can talk, but not for long. [00:22:43] Speaker D: Are you gonna die. [00:22:47] Speaker C: Senga? You dead man. [00:22:50] Speaker D: Ya man. [00:22:53] Speaker A: The life is draining out of me. [00:22:59] Speaker D: Who are you? [00:23:02] Speaker E: You. [00:23:06] Speaker A: Are incapable of grasping the raw power and awful potential this being has. [00:23:20] Speaker D: This? This what has being? [00:23:22] Speaker A: Vessel. [00:23:25] Speaker D: The vessel. [00:23:28] Speaker A: You fools. You could have had it all. And there is blood now. You can see inside. Finally. Bellice. This armor is strange indeed. [00:23:48] Speaker E: From. [00:23:53] Speaker A: Although you know, it clearly contains a dwarven man, it is not rot of normal material. And it seems an awfully uncomfortable fit. This dwarf seems to be almost wedged inside. And you look down to his chest and still beleg the armor has the hole from the dragon Talon. And you see some healing has taken place. I mean, your healing scroll was not without purpose, so you clearly healed some serious, actual fleshy wounds. But he's not in a good position. [00:24:42] Speaker D: Does he still look just as wedged in and in the hole that I created? Get a any more insight into the awkward fit? Does it look like the armor wasn't made for him? [00:24:58] Speaker A: Fell like. I'm going to award you inspiration. [00:25:01] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:25:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:04] Speaker A: You are noting that this does not look like a comfortable fit. It does not look like it has been designed for use by a humanoid in its origin, but perhaps has been adapted in some way. [00:25:26] Speaker D: It's a nice pseudo armor you got there. Where'd you get that from? Doesn't look. Doesn't look like it was made for you. [00:25:33] Speaker C: It looks constricting. [00:25:38] Speaker A: But in an imitation. Not the real thing. I wish it were. And blood spills out again from his lips. [00:25:57] Speaker D: Uh. [00:26:00] Speaker A: My insides torn. [00:26:06] Speaker D: Can I bust a couple healing gauntlet charges on them? [00:26:10] Speaker A: Uh, yeah, that's a finger per sunrise. And actually, whatever you've used in that healing gauntlet has been recharged because it has hit midnight. Right. It is a new day. [00:26:26] Speaker D: Yep. So I've got four charges. I'll burn them on this guy. Hold still. Hold still. I need more information from you. 31149 health. [00:26:48] Speaker A: That's impressive, actually. So you have restored an immediate wind to this figure encased in the armor. Beleg. And you can tell now there is hope. He seems to have been pulled back from the brink of death by internal bleeding. [00:27:13] Speaker D: All right, now tell me more about this armor. Tell me more about the vessel. [00:27:20] Speaker A: And, Bella, as you draw your gauntleted hands away and exclaim those words, the visor that you had opened for this fellow slammed shut. [00:27:37] Speaker D: I was afraid of this. [00:27:40] Speaker A: And that's where we're gonna leave you for the moment. Party of three. [00:27:47] Speaker B: Yes, sir. [00:27:49] Speaker A: We're back to you. What are you doing? [00:27:54] Speaker B: Making move. Making moves to make camp. Right. I want to grab a bow. On my way. [00:27:59] Speaker A: Right, so you nicked a longbow. [00:28:02] Speaker C: Okay, I've sealed with a tooth, and we're also. Are we kidnapping this dude? [00:28:12] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Tied him up. [00:28:16] Speaker C: I'm gonna freeze his balls at some point. [00:28:22] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:28:23] Speaker C: All right, let's get over the hill. [00:28:27] Speaker A: Into the woods. [00:28:29] Speaker B: Hey, Rob, how many arrows am I luck, or can I grab along my way there. [00:28:38] Speaker A: At your disposal are, let's see, five, almost five to ten quivers. Now, a lot of these guys took shots at you, but, I mean, there's. There's more than you can carry, but the realistic maximum is between 40 and 60. [00:28:54] Speaker B: Okay, well, with all other stuff plus the shield, I'm thinking I'm probably only gonna be able to take probably half of what I normally maybe would be able to do. [00:29:04] Speaker A: 30 arrows. [00:29:05] Speaker B: Uh, Robin is. [00:29:07] Speaker A: Okay. Is there a, uh. [00:29:10] Speaker C: I'm gonna hunt around for a longbow for myself. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Uh, there was a single longbow, and the rest are short bows in good condition. [00:29:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Is it up for grabs, or did someone grab it already? [00:29:24] Speaker B: Well, there's tons of bows around. [00:29:27] Speaker C: Okay, well, I'm a kaitoanese arranged weapon desperately. [00:29:33] Speaker A: So you guys are great. [00:29:35] Speaker E: It's called a great axe. [00:29:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I am scared to throw it tomo. [00:29:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, guys, there's an endless supply of armor, short bows, arrows right here. Their weaponry ranges from rather good quality to mediocre. [00:29:56] Speaker C: Actually, one of what I'm looking for is a crossbow. Is there a crossbow? [00:30:02] Speaker A: Interesting. I find out. Never thought about that. That's gonna be a d four. Yeah. [00:30:09] Speaker C: I'm recalling a op crossbow. [00:30:14] Speaker A: Kaitoa. [00:30:15] Speaker C: My life. [00:30:17] Speaker A: There is a crossbow. It looks like it's a heavy crossbow. [00:30:22] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm recalling someone having a very op crossbow, and I would like to find out how that works, Kai. [00:30:32] Speaker A: So, you know, all these times when these guys were pursuing you for the last 6 hours in the night on this ride, and you've been zooming in on them and looking at them and inspecting their weapons? Yes. You know, one of these big, burly gnolls had. Right? He's dead now. A heavy crossbow. [00:30:50] Speaker C: Yeah, I'd like to take that. And also, I'm blowing a kiss to. [00:31:00] Speaker A: Mickey off westwards on the night wind. [00:31:05] Speaker C: Oh, I'm going to make this thing fully automatic before the campaign's done. [00:31:12] Speaker A: Heavy crossbow is not bad, guys. Is there anything else, Steve, in particular, rook? In particular? You said that you had bound the gnoll who you intend to, you know, capture. He's knocked out, he's unconscious. How are you moving him? And is there anything else you guys would take or inspect on the battlefield? And I mean, again, when I say the battlefield, I mean this battlefield has been drawn out across dozens and dozens of leagues. [00:31:42] Speaker B: Well, I've got that shield still. So once we make camp, I'm going to inspect it further. But other than that, I got my longbow and some arrows, and Steve mentioned wanting to lift this gap onto a horse. [00:31:56] Speaker C: So I'm going to do that. Can we just, like, strap him to my back so every time Chris Beck leaks, it sprays him in the face and he screams for dear life? Oh. [00:32:12] Speaker B: We can do that. [00:32:12] Speaker C: Just so we have a verbal cue that my backpack is leaking. [00:32:17] Speaker A: You can do that? So if you did take the encumbrance of the gnoll and he's not the biggest knoll, maybe add another 150 pounds there, you could strap him on top of Kris Blick's cryo chamber. And if you strapped him upside down so his head hung upside down, his head would be near where the little fissure is. Oh. [00:32:43] Speaker C: Oh. It's like a jetpack kind of hole. Okay. Like a kaitoa cryogenic fart. [00:32:52] Speaker B: It's still possible. I can do that for you, Kaitoa, if you want them upside down on your back. [00:32:57] Speaker A: Do it. [00:33:02] Speaker C: Do it. [00:33:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:03] Speaker C: Now that we're, like, thinking about encumbrance. [00:33:07] Speaker E: I think you'll be okay. [00:33:08] Speaker C: It wasn't a thing in this campaign before. [00:33:13] Speaker E: I think you can carry him. You're not going to be super. [00:33:16] Speaker C: Yeah, no, I'll do it. Because, yeah, if this thing starts pissing and he starts screaming, then, yeah, I want to know it's leaking. [00:33:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:25] Speaker E: Plus, if he tries to get away, you can just crush him. [00:33:27] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. No, his face is going to freeze before. [00:33:31] Speaker D: What's your strength, Kaitoa. [00:33:35] Speaker C: What do we got? 16 plus 319. Yeah. [00:33:43] Speaker A: Kaitoa, could you give me a quick strength roll? And then it makes life easy because we're essentially looking at Kaitoa hauling off the remains of the battle. [00:33:58] Speaker D: You should be able to carry 285 pounds. [00:34:01] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:34:02] Speaker D: You should be able to, like, drag or lift or push twice that. [00:34:06] Speaker A: Yeah, no, yeah, no problem. Yeah. [00:34:12] Speaker C: 15. [00:34:13] Speaker A: Beautiful. Yep. So you take on this burden without much of a shrug. [00:34:20] Speaker C: And then also if I'm, like, on a horse, that's gonna make it a fuck a lot easier. Like. Like my girl, prickly Pete. [00:34:30] Speaker A: Oh, yes. The sweet, sweet battle mare. Prickly Pete would be able to sort of bear both you and your passenger there, rook and Steve. Then you have aided Kaitoa in lashing this knoll in a sort of almost upside down position, and they are tossed both on top of prickly peat. And what's up next? Are you going to the changing geography there? That looks like it's a bit more obscuring. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:35:08] Speaker E: From. From my wrecking lash. And we'll go do the. A little more of a defensible area. [00:35:15] Speaker B: I'm going to get back on my horse and start heading that way. [00:35:21] Speaker A: Okay, guys, you will head there, and you will probably pass about. Okay? It'll be about one and a half miles before you note, Steve, that Stolas is circling in the air. Stolas is highlighted in the moonlight. [00:35:46] Speaker E: What is. What do you see? [00:35:51] Speaker C: Fuck you. [00:35:55] Speaker E: Is he, um. Is he telegraphing anything to me? [00:36:01] Speaker A: Can you roll? What did we decide you were going to use to generally communicate with Stolas? Was it wisdom? [00:36:08] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:36:09] Speaker A: Wisdom. [00:36:10] Speaker E: Check. [00:36:10] Speaker A: Roll of wisdom to see how your. How many feathers, you know, how many bars do you have here? [00:36:17] Speaker C: Okay, are you or 4g. [00:36:24] Speaker A: Right? [00:36:24] Speaker D: Lte, baby. [00:36:27] Speaker A: You're able to immediately confirm that Stolas has eyes on beleg and a figure and a horse. [00:36:42] Speaker E: Is it the figure in blue? [00:36:44] Speaker A: Oh, you cannot tell, but it seems like the figure is kind of slumped against the horse, and beleg, half elf, is stooped over him at this moment. And Stolas is confirming that, but is. [00:37:03] Speaker D: Not the figure in blue. Bell, ig met up for a hot date in the desert while you guys are fighting. [00:37:08] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Who knows who's out there at night? Maybe it's leo out for a little promenade. [00:37:16] Speaker E: No, she wouldn't be. I'll, uh. Yeah, so, uh, we should probably hook up with Bellic, and then, uh, we can maybe figure out a better position there. [00:37:30] Speaker C: Should we hook up with him or he'll take us. [00:37:35] Speaker E: Let's meet up with Bellic. [00:37:37] Speaker C: Yeah. The safe date option. [00:37:43] Speaker D: Everything bellic does is consensual when not war. [00:37:46] Speaker C: It's true. [00:37:49] Speaker D: In war, I'm a fucking. [00:37:54] Speaker C: I don't think it's gonna hold up in court, buddy. All right, well, come on, prickly Pete. Hurry before this man's face freezes. [00:38:10] Speaker A: As you three take off galloping towards where you know, Stolas has located Beleg. Beleg, you have now asked a question to this dwarven figure. [00:38:31] Speaker D: I asked a couple questions. [00:38:34] Speaker A: The main. The main last one was armor based. Yes. [00:38:38] Speaker D: Yeah, sure. I'll persuade a motherfucker, too. [00:38:44] Speaker A: As his visor slams shut, he seems to lurch forward against you and puts one of his gauntleted hands on your arm. [00:39:02] Speaker D: Okay, k. I knock it away. [00:39:08] Speaker A: Okay, can you roll a strength or dexterity? [00:39:12] Speaker D: I will roll a dexterity. I will burn an inspiration on my dexterity. Yeah. Oh, seven's better than a six. That sucks. It was sitting on 14 and then just flopped over to four. [00:39:32] Speaker A: Okay, so would you say you're trying to bat him away? [00:39:37] Speaker D: Yeah, in a perfect world, I would have batted him away, biffed him on the helmet, and said, oh, come on. [00:39:45] Speaker A: Talk as you try and do that. In fact, you do do that. Deftly push his hand away, and you bop him on the head, but it seems to have no effect. He just goes right back and grabs you by the arm. And although he's still a bit lower than you in orientation here, he's trying to leverage himself up a little bit on you. But Bellag, now he falls back down against the side of the horse here, and he seems to be reaching for a pouch. [00:40:30] Speaker D: I step on his hand. [00:40:32] Speaker A: Oh, okay. And you stop his hand mid reach. [00:40:39] Speaker E: I just eat my pills, my heart pills. [00:40:46] Speaker D: I don't want to fucking throw some red fog in my face and run away. [00:40:51] Speaker C: That's fair. [00:40:52] Speaker D: What are you reaching for? [00:40:56] Speaker A: Take him out. Take him out? [00:41:02] Speaker D: Take who out? [00:41:04] Speaker A: And he brings his gauntleted fist up to his mask, and he seems to be talking into his fist. You know, perhaps he believes he has grasped the thing that he was reaching for. Take him out. [00:41:24] Speaker C: Show him your dong. [00:41:28] Speaker D: Nah, man, I'm still self conscious about my half pubes. [00:41:32] Speaker A: Take him out. [00:41:34] Speaker E: Take him off a sack of pubes. [00:41:36] Speaker D: I'm not comfortable. Um, could I take them out, bro? Like, roll perception on what he's talking? Or maybe insight. [00:41:51] Speaker A: Insight would be more. [00:41:53] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:41:53] Speaker A: What's behind. You know, what's behind what he's saying? I would say if you're more. I mean, fuck, man, I. That's a tough one. Up to you. [00:42:05] Speaker D: I wanna know what the fuck he's talking to. Kind of want to just rough him up right now. [00:42:10] Speaker A: Okay, well, I'd go with your heart. [00:42:14] Speaker B: Give him a little fruit bowl. [00:42:15] Speaker D: Yeah, I want to grab his hand now. Pull it away from his mouth. [00:42:23] Speaker A: As you do that. His hand is mighty heavy, you know? Feels like you are manipulating a huge, you know, robust forearm here. There's nothing in his palm, though, Belik, as you rest away his clenched fist from in front of his visored helm. There is nothing in his hand. But as you rough him up a little bit, you see a small item drop from within his tunic onto the ground. [00:43:02] Speaker D: Do I recognize it? [00:43:05] Speaker A: It is familiar to you? [00:43:08] Speaker D: What is it, like a stone of near speech or something? [00:43:13] Speaker A: Beleg, half elf. You know this to be a stone of far speech. [00:43:21] Speaker D: Ah. [00:43:23] Speaker A: And this dark purple stone has just fallen out and hit the ground beside the figure. And right now you're holding his hand. But can you roll a strength check as he begins to wrestle against you? [00:43:43] Speaker D: That's 15. [00:43:45] Speaker A: Oh, Bellag. Then you are still in control of his movements. And right now, you have the upper hand. What are you doing? As things are escalating, I reach for. [00:43:56] Speaker C: The stone, grab his junk. [00:43:59] Speaker D: Oh, it's under armour. [00:44:01] Speaker A: You have grabbed the small purple stone. [00:44:06] Speaker C: Grab his small purple. [00:44:08] Speaker D: I put it in my pocket, I thrust my knee into his chest, flip open his visor, and, uh, get a little angry and say, just fucking talk to me right now. Well, intimidation. Action. [00:44:26] Speaker A: You are no human. [00:44:29] Speaker D: I point to my ears and wink. [00:44:35] Speaker A: You are elvish. [00:44:38] Speaker D: Smart one. Now, what's the deal with this fucking armor? [00:44:43] Speaker C: And who are you? [00:44:47] Speaker E: What does he do? [00:44:48] Speaker A: Who is your daddy, and what does he do? [00:44:51] Speaker B: Come on. [00:44:55] Speaker A: I'll have you roll. I like it so much. Roll. Intimidation with advantage, I think. [00:45:04] Speaker D: Oh, that's a 19 plus six. Or 13 plus six. So that's a 25. [00:45:11] Speaker A: Okay, I am in. Go, old foot. [00:45:18] Speaker D: You're old foot, huh? [00:45:21] Speaker C: Oh, old foot. [00:45:24] Speaker D: Keep talking. [00:45:26] Speaker A: This armor, it's all I can do to stay alive and mobile. Now I'm old. But within my grasp is the real prize. The forever soldier. [00:45:46] Speaker D: Is that the vessel you speak of? [00:45:49] Speaker A: Yes. I want that. [00:45:54] Speaker D: Just to stay alive. [00:45:55] Speaker A: Eh, you don't know the power it possesses. It could end or start empires. [00:46:10] Speaker D: Until it gets distracted by its mood ring. [00:46:12] Speaker C: Yeah, or it could party all night long. [00:46:19] Speaker D: And that's the. You're referring to our friend Kaitoa, aren't you? [00:46:26] Speaker A: I don't know that name. [00:46:30] Speaker D: My pal, the big galoot, the vessel. You're telling me he's all powerful? [00:46:38] Speaker A: Well, call it what you will, half elf. [00:46:44] Speaker C: They don't care what my name is. [00:46:49] Speaker D: They just want you for your body. [00:46:52] Speaker C: I'm so hot right now. [00:46:55] Speaker A: Look, I see your friends on the ridge there, and Bella keep points over your shoulder. [00:47:10] Speaker D: I'm not falling for that. I boop him on the nose. [00:47:18] Speaker A: Oh, can you roll a d four? [00:47:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:47:21] Speaker C: You don't take your eyes off him? [00:47:23] Speaker D: Fuck, no. That's a four. [00:47:26] Speaker A: Oh, bell egg. Can you. Another d four? [00:47:30] Speaker C: Yeah, he's got construct eyes. Construct eyes? I was waiting for it. [00:47:47] Speaker A: Half elf, warlock, you deal three damage with your gauntleted fists, and party of three, as you rise. [00:47:57] Speaker D: The boop was supposed to be like, you got a stain on your shirt, kind of boop, not a punch. [00:48:03] Speaker A: Oh, but those gauntlets, bell egg. Oh, those gauntlets. [00:48:07] Speaker D: I'm pretty beefy. I get it. [00:48:09] Speaker C: He deserves it. [00:48:10] Speaker A: Yeah, when you kind of forget that your healing gauntlets are. They're formidable in battle, right? Every digit is individually articulated with fairly thick brass. So, I mean, when you boop somebody watch out for future reference. [00:48:25] Speaker C: Kaitoa boop. [00:48:27] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:48:29] Speaker D: Damn it. I kaitoa boop. [00:48:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:34] Speaker A: Boop is a bope party of three. As you come over this rise in the topography here, there are small glades of trees. And down in the small impression of the edge of a ridge, you see your companion beleg, and he is sort of hunched over a figure, but you cannot tell whether he's engaged in a struggle or not. [00:49:04] Speaker C: Actually, Robin, I'd be able to see with my eagle vision. [00:49:11] Speaker A: Zoom in on that shit. [00:49:13] Speaker C: I'd be able to see instantly. [00:49:15] Speaker A: Nice sound board. Can we queue a sound effect in here, please? Thank you. [00:49:22] Speaker C: And I was like, oh, that's just a boop. No, that was just a comical boop. [00:49:31] Speaker A: A d 20 with advantageous. [00:49:33] Speaker C: He punched him in the face by accident. Any modifier to that? [00:49:39] Speaker A: Yes. Anything that you roll on. Perception. So it's perception with advantage. So two d twenty? [00:49:48] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll take a non natural 20. [00:49:51] Speaker A: Nice. Ancient living construct. As you zoom in, you can confirm Belik is engaged in a conversation and a bit of a struggle with the figure in blue armor. And you can look right at the face of this figure and his visor has been flipped up and you can even see, you know, the evidence of a dwarvish face in that face plate. So you are. You are absolutely confirmed, Kaitoa, what bellic is doing. And they are approximately 300ft away from you guys. And yeah, what you do, I am. [00:50:39] Speaker C: Gonna convey this whole scene to my party. Everyone knows, you know, it's no big thing. Everyone knows. [00:50:49] Speaker E: This is. Was this. We can see Bell egg, I can see billing. [00:50:55] Speaker C: But you guys know that he is interviewing someone. A dwarfish figure he accidentally punched. [00:51:05] Speaker D: I mean, if you were a color, what color would you be? What is your greatest weakness? [00:51:12] Speaker E: Is stolen there as well. [00:51:16] Speaker A: Correct. Steve Stolas is now still the intermediary point. So now the distance has been halved. He's 150ft up and 150ft between you and beleg. The figure, it looks like Lionel the horse. And then rook and Steve, you are right there in lockstep with Kaitoa, who is just a couple steps ahead of you. And you both are keeping an eye on the fissure that every once in a while releases a tiny puff of blue cold, icy steam. And that is where we will have to leave you. Until the next time on dungeons and blackguards.
