[00:00:02] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Brandon. [00:00:17] Speaker B: I am Ekaruk Unshlay, AP Orc, level six bloodhunter. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Calo. I am Kaito Otata. [00:00:27] Speaker C: I have an axe. I am a warforged barbarian. [00:00:33] Speaker D: Hey, I'm Steve Tedman. I am a level five gloom stalker ranger. [00:00:38] Speaker E: Level one rogue. And I am a match Gower multiclasser. [00:00:43] Speaker A: I'm anti raiden. [00:00:46] Speaker E: I'm Raiden. I am playing Bella de garde, level six half elf warlock. [00:00:55] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards. Well, as you look backwards, party towards the southwestern gate along the road about a mile and a half away. See that depression in the land there? [00:01:14] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Well, coming right over the crest, 24 riders and party. You are right in the middle of the road, and I. Oh, that is a one for the moon. And the moon. All of a sudden, any of the cloud in front of the moon has gone for the moment. And you guys are clear in the moonlight on the road to pole. [00:01:48] Speaker E: Yah. [00:01:48] Speaker A: Yah. Okay, Bella, you are kicking your horse into gear, and you are riding at 140. [00:01:57] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. Break down that road. [00:02:00] Speaker A: Guys, there is just a cartoon. Cartoon dust. You know, a little cartoon dust icon where Bellic used to be. [00:02:07] Speaker E: Oh, my cloak is flowing behind me. So cool, too. Yeah, and, like, my sleeves are billowing out as I hold onto the reins. And I'm in full crouch. [00:02:17] Speaker A: There goes the warlock. Guys, what are you doing? [00:02:21] Speaker B: I'm gonna advise. You know, Belly took off before I could say anything, but I'm going to yell out to Kaitoa and Steve, and hopefully Bella hears and just say, you know, I've seen the future, and this does not bode well for us. We need to take shelter and stealth. [00:02:47] Speaker D: Back to Poland, as in, we need to not go up right next speed. [00:02:54] Speaker B: As in, we do not want to. [00:02:55] Speaker D: Encounter these foes, the ones that are behind us. [00:02:59] Speaker B: Yeah, we got to do what we got. If we're in plain sight, we need to do what we need to do to get the f out of there. [00:03:06] Speaker D: I imagine, like, we're. We're all riding as fast as we can right now, right? [00:03:10] Speaker B: I'm just saying, as we move, we want to be strategic. So going at breakneck speed to get away from them. Yes. But we might also want to consult with Stolas vision to make sure that we're not running into a trap. [00:03:26] Speaker D: I've been. I've been trying, but he's nothing. It's not showing me a whole lot right now. [00:03:34] Speaker A: You are just in front of these guys. They seem to be having a bit of a conversation. As you look over your shoulders, you guys are all booking it. And you have tamed, you know, these steeds and you to the point where you guys are a well greased machine. As you take off down the road and behind you, they seem to be bearing torch lights in both of the parties of twelve here, you can see them. You are being pursued. Do you want a roll recon? [00:04:07] Speaker D: Yeah, like I keep, I keep having, that's what I would like to use Stolas, just to get an idea of what's, what we're running into. He is using vision, right? Mm hmm. [00:04:19] Speaker A: So advantage, advantage. [00:04:22] Speaker C: Robin. [00:04:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:25] Speaker C: Kaito is falling a little bit behind because I'm doing the stealthy hug on prickly Pete. My gray mare is maybe blending in a little more. Falling back. [00:04:38] Speaker A: Prickly Pete, the grey mare. Kaitoa, you're slowing down a bit. Steve. [00:04:43] Speaker D: 20 non, not crit. [00:04:46] Speaker A: Stolas catches a little updraft. He flies up to get that view that you really want to cash in on where you can now see, well, let's say, whoa, 8 miles down the road. [00:05:01] Speaker D: Okay. [00:05:01] Speaker A: And it is dark. There are no travelers on the road. There are no lights or torch lights. And then Stolas looks back. He can see approximately, you know, 4 miles and is, is still burning in the center near the keep. And the twelve cavalry, plus the figure they are led by, are in hot pursuit. And now Stolas is kind of swooping back and joining you guys as you thunder along the road. [00:05:33] Speaker D: So we're clear up front? [00:05:35] Speaker A: You're clear. [00:05:36] Speaker D: Okay. [00:05:37] Speaker A: Forest is dark. Rivers dark. The only other point of light is that junction north of Iz, you know, heading off in the direction of, well, I guess the northern provinces and Clombur and that whole area. Yeah. [00:05:53] Speaker D: Okay. So yeah, I'll clear ahead. [00:05:58] Speaker B: Let's charge on. [00:06:00] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:06:00] Speaker A: Okay. [00:06:02] Speaker C: With a small gap. I'm gonna bring up the rear. [00:06:06] Speaker A: Kaitoa, can you roll an intelligence? Yep. And you're gonna estimate as you kind of look back with your telescopic vision. Cause I figured you're slung low on the gray mare here. Prickly pete. Go, go. Gadgetheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh telescopic vision. [00:06:22] Speaker C: Oh, nine nine. A little hindered. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Unfortunately, there is a rise in the geography terrain here. And in the moment that you're trying to zoom in on them, you're obscured and you're getting no new details on your pursuers party. As you thunder forward. Is there anything else or are you just booking it at your max? [00:06:52] Speaker D: I'm trying to, I guess. I mean, again, if I can use my skill to allow us to pass through what would be considered difficult terrain. Steve is searching that photographic memory of his for something that we could use to slow them down, that we could pass through, like woods or difficult, difficult grounding that steve knows he can get through and bring us through. So I'm looking to try and figure out a way to slow them down so that we can pull ahead. [00:07:29] Speaker A: Okay, would you like to roll on that using either survival or history? [00:07:36] Speaker D: I think survival would be better. [00:07:38] Speaker A: And then in this moment, guys, I'm gonna say you are coming to a bit of a turn in the road. It is very slight. It is mostly straight road here. But if we were to say at any time in this pursuit, at the moment where you are now out of view of your pursuers, you know, now there is that same rise in the land that obscures them from seeing you now. You are obscured for moments as Steve slows down for just a moment. And what'd you get? [00:08:11] Speaker D: I used inspiration and I rolled a 16. [00:08:15] Speaker A: There are some large forested areas that are approximately. Well, there's one right here to the south of the party, south of the road. But, you know, they're approximately several miles apart. Along the road here, there are some deciduous trees. So as long as you're on the road within about a mile, it's easy ground for anybody to pass. But if you go further than a mile, we say you're now in a lightly forested area heading into some pretty deep, treacherous terrain for horses and slow for people. So there you go. In the north, all you need to do is take a little skip and a jump, and you are on the banks of the river Pulba. And again, you guys are all too familiar with that. [00:09:00] Speaker D: Okay, well, since I can help my guys, basically, like, was it speeder bike through Ewok forest? I want to do that. Let's get into. Let's get in some rough terrain. [00:09:15] Speaker C: Can barbarians with totem not speak with animals? [00:09:20] Speaker D: I think it takes some time because they have to cast ten minutes, I believe. Yeah. So I guess it depends on whether or not you are equipped or able to cast a ritual while on horseback. [00:09:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:33] Speaker C: And that's, I guess it says to the DM's discretion. [00:09:38] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:09:39] Speaker A: You've taken your totem warrior path. You're kind of sampling at each level like you've got a little bear. You've dipped into eagle. [00:09:48] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:09:49] Speaker A: And so I would say this, if you picked the animal that you have dipped into, like, if you were riding a bear or if you saw an eagle, I would give you some serious advantage on that. [00:10:01] Speaker C: Even with me and prickly Pete's connection. [00:10:05] Speaker A: Now, with prickly Pete, let's say that, I mean, if you're trying to leverage that animal connection, I certainly like the angle. What would you roll on it and what. What is the desired effect that you're. That you're aiming for? [00:10:20] Speaker C: I guess trying to, like, dip into prickly Pete's mind of, like, what do you think? Like, where would you go? I'm not trying to control this animal, but just kind of dipping in of, like, this is what the situation is. How are you feeling? [00:10:38] Speaker A: Well, trying to like it is a very simple question. So I like it. So why don't you go ahead and roll something that you feel leverages that. [00:10:47] Speaker C: I believe it's intelligence. [00:10:50] Speaker D: Sure. [00:10:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:51] Speaker C: So I think I'd roll against intelligence of prickly Pete. [00:10:55] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:10:58] Speaker A: Ten, a riding horse. Intelligence two. Do you think prickly Pete is more than your average riding horse? I don't think he is, to the tune of ten. So, yes, your connection, you are now probing Kaitoa, ancient war forged into the current thoughts and asking a simple question, where would he go? And you get an immediate answer back. You know, if this horse could indicate to you one word, it would be saying west. [00:11:36] Speaker B: Hmm. [00:11:37] Speaker C: All right, that's vague, but that's where we're going. [00:11:41] Speaker E: Yeah, already there. [00:11:43] Speaker C: Prickly Pete. I was hoping for more than that. [00:11:45] Speaker E: But pretty good affirmation, man. [00:11:50] Speaker A: Prickly Pete gives, like, a head swoosh, and his understated gray mane, you know, kind of flips around in front of one of his eyes, and he gives you a horse eye roll Kaizoa as. [00:12:06] Speaker B: You charge for it. [00:12:07] Speaker E: Likes this horse. [00:12:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I kind of get it, too. It's like, come on, man. Like, I need. I need answers. [00:12:16] Speaker A: So, Steve, you have you. You've started to suggest, obviously, alternate paths to the road, but you guys are still on the road. And I'll warn you now, you have now reached that next feature in the road where you will be seen soon, you know, and you can feel that your pursuers, you know, probably in the next 30 seconds or so, you would imagine, if they continue at their current pace, you'll be seeing them cresting the road, and you guys will be back in view. [00:12:43] Speaker D: So are we, like, we're coming up to something that I have in mind. [00:12:50] Speaker B: Stay away from the river route. That's the way rook wants to go. [00:12:54] Speaker E: Beleague is so into just riding straight forward, mostly because of the plethora of sirens. [00:13:01] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:13:02] Speaker B: Let's make a move. [00:13:03] Speaker A: So rook. Yeah. You advise against the river route and Steve. I mean, there is always the opportunity to break off the road but you'll have to ride on another several miles to the next forested area where still you must break from the road across. Well, it looks like now, moonlit fields. It's quite picturesque and quite dangerous for an escaping party of four. [00:13:31] Speaker D: Okay. And so currently we're in a good. We're in a good place though. Like we're not gonna. [00:13:37] Speaker A: A couple more moments. There are several low hills now that you're passing, I guess, Steve, only 600ft to the south. But yeah, as you guys ride on, in only moments you feel the party behind you. The pursuing party is going to be again in view. [00:13:56] Speaker B: Let's make a move. I'm going into polar non river route. I'm going to make the go ahead. Do it. [00:14:06] Speaker D: All right. I just want to be able to stay out of view as much as possible. [00:14:10] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:14:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, if we go heavy forested route way from the river. That's the way I'm going. [00:14:17] Speaker E: How many miles are we? [00:14:19] Speaker A: So you are how many miles from. Let's do it. Okay. So, guys, and you are at this moment charging past these low hills. And now you are indeed in a flat open space as behind you, your pursuers have crested over that feature. And so now party. You know, there is no breaking north or south from the road without being remarked. [00:14:46] Speaker E: How far, though, miles wise? [00:14:47] Speaker A: I totally forget. Dude, we're gonna go to like, the map of western Baheru. Here we go. Oh, that's the entire continent. [00:14:55] Speaker D: Fuck. Too far. Too far. [00:14:59] Speaker E: Oh, God. [00:15:00] Speaker A: It's kind of a good spot, though, to remind you guys of the luxury. [00:15:04] Speaker C: I was just gonna say it's nice to see of like. Oh, fuck. [00:15:08] Speaker A: So beleg, who are you asking? [00:15:11] Speaker E: Probably my memory. But like this is. This is like the player braden asking the DM rob. [00:15:18] Speaker A: I'm not here. [00:15:19] Speaker E: Wow. I'll roll history. [00:15:23] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:24] Speaker E: With inspiration. And that's a 1617 minus one. [00:15:31] Speaker A: It's 150 miles as the raven flies. [00:15:35] Speaker E: 150 miles. [00:15:37] Speaker A: And you've already covered several miles as the party flees. You know, firstly along the beachhead, along the creek, now zigzagging back towards the road. But now that you've been on the road for about, say five or ten minutes after you hooked around that little homestead, there you are booking it. And if you rode these horses to the max to the point of where I. You know, you'll have to find new mounts because they will be exhausted. You could get almost two thirds of the way there back to Polb. It would be a midnight ride. [00:16:14] Speaker C: Prickly Pete goes all night long. [00:16:16] Speaker E: If Beleg knows how far away it is to pole. And he knows that his horse is going faster than the knoll horses. Assuming that his extra speed boost is working, I'd beat them to Paul by 3 miles. [00:16:34] Speaker C: If your horse doesn't shit out. [00:16:36] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll say that the, you know, the entire party has managed to through various means. You know, Steve with his combination of animal awareness, rook, he's. Well, rook and Beleg, you specifically spent time on your river to road thing, taming your horse, using your skills. And bellic. You guys are all moving 140. And Kaitoa, as long as you have abandoned your stealthy stance, because now there is no hiding on the road, we'll say that all of you, prickly Pete included. Prickly Pete, by the way, is a stunning beast. Now that you see him or see them in their full splendor in the moonlight. And Kaitoa, you guys are both like kind of gunmetal gray. But Beleg, you would be noticing now the party behind you seems to be as well, not losing ground. Whatever mechanic the party has sought, your pursuers have sought an equal mechanic, perhaps based in rage and perhaps based on the fact that this party will not be soon forgotten in the least. [00:17:48] Speaker E: Well, shit, I was really banking on that speed boost. Wasted history roll. I didn't need to know. [00:17:54] Speaker A: Well, you'll figure this, though, Beleg, you will have a horsepower problem at about the two thirds way mark. So perhaps it was not all for naught that you thought about the math of the ride. It is now 1030 and now verging on 11:00 p.m. at night. In game, I mean, actually in real life too. [00:18:21] Speaker E: Yeah, let's make it 1044 in game. [00:18:23] Speaker A: But in game, you know, it has been exactly an hour or so that you've been, you know, riding and midnight will be coming soon. And now the second moon has begun to rise a very different angle in the night sky. And it is the smaller moon. In most cultures, it is seen as a usurper. The second brother, the first moon is seen as this first brother, the first son. And you see now both of these celestial bodies now joined in the sky. [00:19:01] Speaker B: Are we. We're in the forested area now, right? [00:19:05] Speaker A: Yes. You are now riding along the road. And it alternates between going quite near to the river sometimes, and then it diverges every once in a while through forested areas that are not endless. I mean, you know, if you went through a forest, eventually you're just back in to a more exposed area. Not until you leave the road for miles to the north or the south, you know, would you truly be in what Steve would know as the wilds, where you could encounter all sorts of unsavory things and where likely civilization has not touched in a while. But no, for the moment, rook, you're just passing forests every seven to 10 miles that could, I don't think, could. [00:19:52] Speaker B: Afford some cover as we are passing a more heavily forested area where the trail is a lot more narrow. I want to time it because I do have my oil lamp oil still, that I was using. Very limited, I guess, from when I was lighting in my bow and arrows. And I want to time it to drop that with a, you know, lit, essentially, Molotov cocktail and try to provide some fire cover for us. [00:20:28] Speaker C: But that would be the slowest burning fuse ever because they were, like, miles down the road behind us. [00:20:34] Speaker B: Yeah. I want it to be a good fire by the time they come through it. [00:20:38] Speaker C: Well, that's true. [00:20:40] Speaker B: If it's just starting, then the horses are just gonna rain through. But if it's a good raging fire, then the horses are gonna be scared and not want to go, even if. [00:20:49] Speaker E: It'S providing smoke cover. That's all right. [00:20:51] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, rook, I'll give you advantage on it from Kaitoa, offering you some help. You know, with his soldier background, clearly he has had some experience with fuses. [00:21:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:04] Speaker B: And he's got a knitted one ready for me to go. [00:21:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:09] Speaker B: Oh, Nat 20, baby. [00:21:12] Speaker A: Damn. Did you even need the advantage? [00:21:15] Speaker B: No, that was first roll. [00:21:16] Speaker A: First time. Well, then. So, yeah, you have the ability here to do a little horseback exchange of material with Kaitoa. He lends you a bit of, well, spunk threading that can be used as a time delayed fuse. Yeah. [00:21:34] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, I'm going to dial that up and have it at the ready and drop it. Like I say, where the. [00:21:42] Speaker C: I like that. I didn't even have to roll for that. So thank you. [00:21:46] Speaker A: I will, then. [00:21:47] Speaker B: Ooh. [00:21:47] Speaker A: Then the problem here will be these, you know, the structural integrity of your little trap as it falls. So now it is time to roll the fateful d four. That the real God's control. Would you like to roll this? [00:22:03] Speaker B: I would. [00:22:04] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:06] Speaker B: Four. [00:22:08] Speaker A: That is the best possible outcome. So it's intact. You know, as you launch your little trap, you know, it has not dashed itself upon the road, it has not sputtered. And so how did you light this? Do you have a little flint? How'd you like this, fucker? [00:22:23] Speaker B: A little flint I've been using for my bow and arrows. [00:22:27] Speaker A: And you have now behind you, we've left this roughly in your path. And you carry on, party. You carry on. [00:22:37] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's at the narrowest point in the, I guess, path that we've passed by or that we're passing by. [00:22:45] Speaker C: Right. [00:22:45] Speaker B: That's what I want. I want it to tell that way it's well narrow. [00:22:48] Speaker A: Yeah, it is at the bluff just before the Polba plains. Roughly halfway between Polb and Iz Rook, that there is a narrowing of the road. And there is probably the only major bottleneck here that you guys have identified. And so, rook, here's where you lay your trap. But by this point, you have had to ride on another 2 hours as you construct your trap with Kaitoa. And you consult maybe Steve for the best place to on on the route. He's like, wait, hold on. Don't just do it here. Let's wait for the bluff and the pass before the pulbo plains. And so here it is, guys. It's now about 130 in the morning, and you've now come to a slow trot. As rook, you ensure this little fuse is lit. And still your pursuers are hot on your heels. And so you guys are dashing away. Yeah. Okay, here the ground is a little more tricky, so you have been reduced to probably 120. But Steve, you're gonna overcome for the party anything that gets more treacherous than this. But the planes are before you. [00:24:05] Speaker C: So, Robin, like for horses fading in, strengthen, can we pass inspiration onto a horse? [00:24:14] Speaker A: Fuck. I'd say yes. [00:24:16] Speaker C: Like an inspirational gorp. [00:24:18] Speaker A: Yeah, I'd see how. I'd like to see how that would work. [00:24:20] Speaker C: Like inspirational carrot. We can, like, you can dangle in front of them. [00:24:25] Speaker A: The perpetual carrot. Yeah, yeah. [00:24:28] Speaker C: Just in case one horse like, starts to falter. We could actually burn an inspirational point. [00:24:35] Speaker D: The nice thing is that they're also riding horses that are probably getting tired too. Yeah. [00:24:41] Speaker E: Think that the fatigue would hit at the same time. [00:24:44] Speaker D: One would hope. [00:24:45] Speaker C: But we could gain ground if we were to like, just be like, here's some nos for a horse. And tried Steve Corp. And then there's like for days. Yeah, exactly. Extra beanstalk. [00:25:04] Speaker D: I wish I had something like spell wise that would be inspirational to them. As we're rob, as we're coming up to the planes, this is again kind of looking for ways that we can slow them down, that we can pass through. Is there anything along the plains, any kind of geography that would make it more difficult for them? [00:25:23] Speaker A: Well as the party consults a little bit there, are there any loose rocks. [00:25:27] Speaker E: Or anything that we can see that I could like? Eldritch blast. [00:25:31] Speaker A: This is the geography. Trees, rocks, boulders. Beleg. Yes. It is not a barren plane. It is just very flat. And party. In your rearview mirror the fellow with the yellow shield is encountering the trap and you see a line of flame take up just about where you planned it guys. Maybe a little behind. The fellow with the yellow shoes shield crossed the flame line and perhaps did not notice. [00:26:00] Speaker B: Good. [00:26:02] Speaker C: We want to fight him. [00:26:03] Speaker A: And the perhaps the first, maybe twelve or so were not at all caught. The timing was wrong but all of a sudden you see a commotion and the oil has drenched the legs of at least four of the horses in the second ride. And there are a now clearly delays occurring behind you. Delays in like they're down momentarily and Kaitoa as you look backwards and you guys would probably not be losing any speed here to remark on your pursuers. Oh no. It seems like the first twelve have regained their stride and they probably only lost a second or two to remark that they had been ambushed. But the back twelve are regaining their composure. I think four horses are down and four riders seem to be in real trouble. [00:26:58] Speaker B: Aldrich blast. Yeah. [00:27:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:02] Speaker E: Is there a way I could create any. Yeah man I want to create a landslide of my eldritch blast. [00:27:08] Speaker A: Well this is your last opportunity bellig. And as you're leaving the geography of the pass here, the bluffs above the plane, you can turn around and you have a double blast. Locked and loaded. [00:27:21] Speaker E: Locked and loaded. Don't lock it up. 16. Oh the second one was a Nat 20. [00:27:29] Speaker A: Oh wow. A 16 and then a Nat 20. [00:27:34] Speaker E: Yep. Wow that's three blasts worth of boulder disturbance. [00:27:40] Speaker A: Can you roll damage as if we're a target? [00:27:44] Speaker E: Yep. Ten. [00:27:46] Speaker A: Oh good. [00:27:47] Speaker E: Two and a 5717. [00:27:52] Speaker A: Yeah. You decimate it and you have created a minor tumble, an avalanche that is slowly growing in momentum. It is now threatening to cover about half the road. It is well timed bellic and it looks like if you were aiming for the fellow with the yellow shield, I'm aiming for all of them to be his party. His party? [00:28:21] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:28:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Not the one that got successfully ambushed. [00:28:25] Speaker B: No. [00:28:25] Speaker A: No. Okay. Yeah. So you have sent stones and pebbles and sort of the end of the rolling debris under their legs, you know as if about you know fist sized boulders and you see, about five of the horses go down. Bellig. [00:28:44] Speaker E: Nice. [00:28:46] Speaker A: Whoa. And they're riders with them. They are caught completely unawares because your e blast came out of nowhere. [00:28:53] Speaker E: Is anybody else picturing these as, like, Tour de France bales? [00:28:58] Speaker C: Yeah. So one bite goes down? [00:29:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:03] Speaker E: Over the dominoes. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Is the path, like, harder to ride through from that point? [00:29:11] Speaker A: No, you've only. You've only disturbed the ground enough to, you know, take five of these horses off of their footing and seven still charge forward. Seven plus the fellow in the yellow with the yellow shield device. Rook. Then as you look backwards, you've remarked this. You're counting. [00:29:29] Speaker C: I can also. Can I not look back and see this? [00:29:33] Speaker A: Would you be looking for any other further details? Kaitoa? [00:29:37] Speaker C: I would be looking to see who in the party, like archers or swordsmen. [00:29:43] Speaker A: Are still riding roll perception with advantage, using your eagle totem vision. [00:29:51] Speaker C: Yeah, sorry, I fell off. [00:29:58] Speaker A: 1616. You're noticing now you have pursuers that are armed with ranged weapons and melee weapons. And it appears that the fellow with the yellow shield device is not the same as he was when the party saw him in the streets of ids. [00:30:28] Speaker C: Oh, like they didn't send him out. Either they, like, didn't send him out because he's too valuable or he's morphed somehow. Something tells me they wouldn't send this fearless leader out. And it's a false him. Like it's not him. [00:30:48] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:30:49] Speaker A: Pardi, what are you doing now? As you are leaving the low hills near the pass. Rook. Did I miss anything? Bellic. Did I miss anything? [00:30:57] Speaker D: Steve? Stolas, how many are left now? [00:31:01] Speaker B: Five. Plus the yellow dude. You were like right on or closest to us. [00:31:07] Speaker A: First ride of twelve with the fella with the yellow shield. Five down, seven in pursuit plus one. So eight. Second ride of Knowles now. Waylay. They're about now 200ft behind and they've been reduced from twelve to eight. [00:31:24] Speaker D: And how far away are they? [00:31:26] Speaker A: 200Ft. And then the second party now is a further 120 or so back. So the party's machinations have been really successful in breaking up the absolute equal momentum that has pursued you from is. And now the party. I mean, it's your momentum to lose. [00:31:50] Speaker D: Rob, I've just got one question. If they're under 320ft from Steve, why haven't I been killing them with my bow? [00:31:59] Speaker A: It's a great question. [00:32:01] Speaker D: Can I question Steve? [00:32:03] Speaker E: Should have asked a long time ago. [00:32:06] Speaker D: If they're here than 320ft, then that's like. That's eager. [00:32:10] Speaker A: That's eager, Steve. [00:32:11] Speaker E: Should have asked this like 50 miles ago. [00:32:14] Speaker A: There's been no exchange of arrows yet. But I mean, Kaitoa can inform you, Steve, they are all armed with bows. And as you begin to enter the flat expanse here, the road essentially disappears. You know, the pulp of plains and oh, there are the remains of the battle not a week and a half ago. The road now here sort of becomes obscured with how flat it is. It's going to pick up again in about three or 4 miles or so once the planes start rising back towards well, the fair city of Polb. And Steve, this is the perfect time to whip around with your finite amount of arrows and start popping off at the eight immediate pursuers. [00:33:00] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean the yellow shield guys right there. Right Kudo. I mean that's, that's great. If he's. If he's within range then I'll put a couple in them. Actually, you know what, I don't. I don't want to put the. Put the arrows in him. I want to. I want to kill the other guys around him first. [00:33:22] Speaker C: The other yellow shield guide like took hits. And actually if you hit him once and he's down, that's not him. [00:33:31] Speaker D: I kind of want to. If it does come down to it, I want questions though. We kill him first and he's on the ground somewhere like hundreds of yards behind the last kill. [00:33:43] Speaker C: If you hit him with. [00:33:47] Speaker D: I want to kill all this. I want him. I want to make all his friends dead. So I'm going to mark one of the gnolls, Quincy Jones, that fucker in the first round. No, I want to keep him alive because I want him to be last. I want him to answer the questions. [00:34:04] Speaker A: Roll up then on any target but the figure bearing the yellow shield. [00:34:12] Speaker D: So closest null first ride. Gonna get it. [00:34:16] Speaker A: Okay. [00:34:18] Speaker D: He gets marked first and then I guess beginning of combat. Do I get three? Three shots? [00:34:25] Speaker A: Well, this is a surprise round where the party will act, will roll initiative. But essentially on the first time we get to everybody here, they're not gonna act. So yes Steve, surprise. [00:34:40] Speaker D: So I'm only asking that because it's the first attack. I get that extra right. [00:34:46] Speaker A: So you'll total three shots. [00:34:48] Speaker E: Reattach. [00:34:48] Speaker D: Okay, perfect. 316 to hit. [00:34:53] Speaker A: That hits. [00:34:56] Speaker D: 1128. [00:35:00] Speaker A: He is going to fall off his horse. And you know your surprise arrow here, although you don't feel it's killed him. In fact, you see the rider twitch and move on the ground. But he's off his horse next. [00:35:15] Speaker D: Sweet. Hopefully the fall kills him though. Yes. [00:35:19] Speaker A: That's why I rolled the d six fall damage there. [00:35:24] Speaker D: So second shot, another one of the dudes. 19 hit. That hits and this is not marked. 22. [00:35:42] Speaker A: Where are we aiming for? [00:35:43] Speaker D: I like higher center mass. Like, I want to be able to. I'm trying my best to knock these guys off. [00:35:49] Speaker A: Okay. 22 will not take him off his horse. He's still riding. Third shot. [00:35:59] Speaker D: 2020 something. 19. 322. [00:36:03] Speaker A: Ooh, same target. [00:36:04] Speaker D: Yep. [00:36:05] Speaker A: Well, Steve, can you describe. Describe how you take this pursuer out? [00:36:13] Speaker D: I guess like it's one shot after another. So the first shot kind of wobbles him and the second one just clears him right off. Or I guess I know I want to say he's hanging by the stirrup and the horse is getting crushed while the horse keeps running. [00:36:31] Speaker A: Oh, little dragon snag. Yeah, maybe. [00:36:36] Speaker D: Maybe after 20 or 30 yards, there's just the bonus being splintered. Enough. Foot just cuts off. [00:36:45] Speaker A: The horse now kind of rears up. And so, Steve, your attacks have resulted in two, both horses and riders, you know, veering wildly off dead here, probably dead from the fall there, and still five charging towards flanking the fellow with the yellow shield. What else in your move? Is Augustus moving Max 120 while you shoot backwards? Yeah. [00:37:14] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't think I'd be slowing down to do it. [00:37:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:37:18] Speaker D: And then can I guess, can Stolas mess with them, too? I get that's. They're a fair distance away, actually. I don't think that's. [00:37:27] Speaker A: I think initiative is. Would be a good time to roll it now. I mean, Beleg, are you going to pop off ranged? These guys are just at the edge of your 120. [00:37:39] Speaker E: Would I like to do something? Probably, yes, I want to do something. What did you ask me? [00:37:44] Speaker A: I feel like everybody's going to act, you know, whether you have a ranged attack or not. So. Yeah, Beleg. Let's. Let's pass through the old beleg filter, which you're doing. We'll hit rookhood Kaitoa and stole us in that order. And then we'll see what happens, because who knows what's going to happen? [00:38:00] Speaker E: There's nobody within 120ft of me. [00:38:03] Speaker B: Right. [00:38:04] Speaker E: They're all beyond that. [00:38:06] Speaker A: Oh, that's true. Well, they have now fallen to between kind of 100 6180. They are alternatively gaining and losing between 40ft. But that's right. Your trap waylaid the first group so that they are now out of e blast range. You would have to slow down your mount just a bit. But, I mean, that's totally doable. You just say I'm slowing down and then I'm picking up there's, what, three guys? [00:38:31] Speaker E: Four guys still on horses right behind us. [00:38:33] Speaker A: Five, plus the fallow yellow. [00:38:39] Speaker E: Yeah. I'll slow down to get within Eldritch blast range and then pick back up. [00:38:42] Speaker A: Okay. You know those great cinematic moments where the camera's following everybody by the side, and then one guy drops back? [00:38:51] Speaker E: Mm hmm. [00:38:52] Speaker A: Bellic, you have dropped back. [00:38:54] Speaker C: All drive back with them. [00:38:55] Speaker E: I'm gonna aim two. Two blasts. One, like, one for each guy. Like, just two random guys that aren't the yellow dude. [00:39:05] Speaker A: Half elf, warlock, can you roll up on Ac for your eldritch blasts? And, Kaitoa, you immediately fall back with your companion. Bellic. [00:39:15] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:39:16] Speaker A: And you guys have both now. [00:39:19] Speaker E: Second was a 16. [00:39:20] Speaker A: Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Okay, so you guys have both now drifted back to 120, and. Sorry, were both 15 or over? [00:39:29] Speaker E: No, one was 15 or one was 16. One was 14. [00:39:34] Speaker A: One of them is unaffected by your blast. The second fellow rule damage. [00:39:41] Speaker E: Second fellow is going 10ft off his horse and nothing. [00:39:44] Speaker A: Yeah, that repelling blast is really effective. [00:39:48] Speaker E: Well, yeah, when I fucking hit, that's six damage and a launch. [00:39:57] Speaker A: Into the night sky. And, I mean, the post effects editors have done a great job deleting the wire effects here, but it is stunning. I mean, he is just blown back about. Because if you do the math here, if the horse is riding 120, if you blown him back, he is actually staggeringly far behind now, his steed. And he looks like he's taken, oh, an additional six damage. [00:40:29] Speaker E: Nice. [00:40:30] Speaker A: Beleg, what else in your move, as your steed is still now revving back up to max hp. [00:40:39] Speaker E: Yeah, revving back up. While I'm catching up, can I do, like, a quick insight on my tattoo? [00:40:49] Speaker A: Yes. And you will do so with advantage. [00:40:53] Speaker E: Where's my insight modifier? So that's a 17 plus. 421 or three. So that was a 21. [00:41:01] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll take that. Bella, can you meet me in the side channel? Yes. [00:41:10] Speaker E: Yep. Bella? [00:41:13] Speaker A: Yes? You know how this story ends. [00:41:18] Speaker E: Not well. Is it possible to change the story? [00:41:24] Speaker A: You live in this story, so you can always change it. [00:41:30] Speaker E: Feeling pretty motivated. [00:41:32] Speaker A: If you were the hero, if you were watching yourself, what would they do right now? [00:41:42] Speaker E: Well, I fuck them up right now. [00:41:50] Speaker A: And, Beleg, you know, as you look at this skull tattoo morph back into the more familiar spider shape, this voice dissipates and disappears in your mind. And now you're catching back up, you know, with the party, and Kaito is beside you. Anything in this moment? [00:42:12] Speaker E: Probably just a deeper concentration. Face on Beleg's face. Clutch shit. [00:42:19] Speaker A: Okay. And, Beleg, I will award you one inspiration. Use it wisely. And in this moment, you feel like you have successfully consulted your patron. [00:42:32] Speaker E: Nice. [00:42:33] Speaker A: Okay, we're going back. Okay, gang, you see Beleg, you know, revving up, and Kaitoa has dropped behind and drifted behind a little bit. But for all intents and purposes, you know, Kaitoa and Rook, you are also acting in some fashion, as your pursuers are now seriously being assaulted. [00:42:57] Speaker C: Who's that? [00:42:58] Speaker A: I would say. Let's say rook is up, because, Kaitoa, you've already sort of initiated a bit of your move. So let's see what Rook's doing, and then we'll pick up how you are. How you are finishing it off. [00:43:13] Speaker B: Yeah, I got much right now to add. I don't want to use up another spelling slot. [00:43:21] Speaker A: I. [00:43:21] Speaker B: Well, we're continuing on our way. [00:43:26] Speaker D: Like, we're basically whittling these guys down as we enter the planes. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I was gonna say to Kaitoa, can I grab a. I'll ask you to pull out some yarn, and I'll grab one end, and you grab another, and we'll just quickly try to loop it around two trees along the path and just do, like, a choke line. [00:43:47] Speaker C: I don't think the yarn is gonna be strong enough to do that. [00:43:51] Speaker B: Well, good try. I don't have any other, like. Kind of, like, I just don't want to use it up another spell slot as we're kind of whittling away. Plus, I don't have much more of a range other than, like, another unseen servant type thing, and I just don't see it. [00:44:08] Speaker C: I would say I'm. I'm spent on all material. I got nothing. [00:44:15] Speaker B: Kitela bomb. [00:44:17] Speaker C: Yeah, other than my crisp plum. That's it. I'm. I'm tapped. I am out. [00:44:24] Speaker B: Well, in my adventurers pouch, I should have some string or rope defeat. [00:44:32] Speaker A: A hemp rope that you. You guys restocked when you left pulp. [00:44:36] Speaker B: Okay, I'm gonna make an attempt to. Although I don't have my bow, just to try to do something here. I'm gonna take that sweet, sweet hemp and tie it around two arrows that I would have left one on one end on each, and try to strength throw into a strategic place in the trees that would string it across. [00:45:07] Speaker A: Each arrow. [00:45:08] Speaker B: Each arrow. [00:45:09] Speaker A: Each arrow. Okay, so, party rook, you have consulted the construct. Construct. As you open your little robocop thigh compartment, your crafting compartment, it is filled with deluge and water, and it's all soaked, and you are out. It's true of your. Your knitting, your spools of yarn. And rook, you indicate to the party with that. Yeah, you have slightly changed your. And you're making for these two trees, you know, roughly 12ft apart. They're off the road a bit. But guys, you are now almost three quarters of the way across the plains. And this is about, you know, the landscape that you're seeing now. [00:45:53] Speaker B: Well, I want it to be along the road. Right. I don't want the. [00:45:56] Speaker A: You will have to gear slightly. You would now be taking your pursuers and intentionally be like, lead us here. You know, you would have to actually intentionally change course. A slight angle. [00:46:09] Speaker B: All right. Well, yeah, okay. [00:46:11] Speaker A: You charge off. And so you'll sacrifice about like 30ft of movement to pull this stunt and party. You now see rook changing course. [00:46:22] Speaker D: I guess we do. [00:46:23] Speaker B: We do. [00:46:23] Speaker D: We kind of get what he's. What he's up to or. [00:46:27] Speaker B: Oh, I'll speak into my stone. [00:46:31] Speaker E: I think I have the other one. [00:46:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna speak into the stone and say, shapeshifter, I'm gonna lay a trap. Be right back. [00:46:44] Speaker D: It sounds like a cv. [00:46:46] Speaker E: CV radio. [00:46:47] Speaker D: The shapeshifter calling it. [00:46:49] Speaker E: That's a big ten four, dark lord. That's big ten four. [00:46:54] Speaker A: And luckily, Bella, you feel in your. Obviously some pouch that was close to your skin, you know, you feel your little blue stone of near speech activate. [00:47:05] Speaker E: Set to vibrate so. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Exactly. It vibrates on your person. And so, party now, you're leaving these two trees behind you, and it's a little ridge here. So the trap has been set and you are now 120ft away from what Rook has set here. And. Rook, did I make you roll on that? [00:47:24] Speaker B: Maybe now. [00:47:25] Speaker A: No, I don't think I should. There's nothing complicated about it. You just sacrifice some of your horse's sprint and it's an inspired move. That's what. Inspiration, buddy. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:38] Speaker A: Oh, we do need to do the old fateful d four. We have to learn a little bit about these trees you attached your trap to. [00:47:46] Speaker C: Yeah. How strong were they? [00:47:50] Speaker A: Well, yes. Okay. You have not been disappointed, party. The half orc has lured your pursuers. And as you flee down the topography here, away from this pair of trees, you see at least one or two horses get checked in their advance. They are by no means completely clotheslined. Rooked. But you see, you have two of them, like, caught up in your rope. However, the fellow with the yellow shield, he is around the tree to the south, and it looks like five more are, you know, unperturbed after they clear through the rope. So you have delayed all but the fellow is yellow. So now you would say there are three groups pursuing you. The fellow in yellow is about 30ft ahead of his five armor. [00:48:53] Speaker B: When I ask him about the fellow in yellow, is he. Does he have a monkey that gets up to mischief? Curious. [00:49:01] Speaker A: Are you inspecting this figure closely, Rook? [00:49:06] Speaker B: I just want to know if he's got a monkey named George. [00:49:16] Speaker A: Well, rook. Well then, as you look back at the efforts of your trap. Yeah, he's got five armored cavalry knolls with him. There are the eight more bringing up the rear. And as you look over this, it's a. It's a heater shield. [00:49:34] Speaker E: A what? [00:49:36] Speaker A: You guys know what the. It's the classic shield, the heater shape. [00:49:39] Speaker E: Okay. [00:49:40] Speaker A: It's sort of a heart shaped shield. [00:49:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:49:43] Speaker A: As you look at the device here, you know, it is a yellow shield with a black line across it. And rook, as you look over the shield, can you roll a perception? I will make you roll on this perception. [00:50:03] Speaker B: 15. [00:50:06] Speaker A: Meets it beats it. It's the figure in blue armor holding the yellow shield. The change that has taken place is that whoever was bearing the yellow shield before has either given the yellow shield to the figure in blue armor or has donned the blue armor. Rook, with your. What's your passive intelligence? I'm assuming it's pretty high and giving you that. [00:50:40] Speaker B: Where the heck is that? That's just my intelligence score, isn't it? [00:50:44] Speaker A: Plus whatever the plus is in your column there. [00:50:48] Speaker B: 13 then. [00:50:49] Speaker A: Plus one. [00:50:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:51] Speaker A: Okay, well, then, whereas Kaitoa and whereas the party have been sort of not quite putting this together, rook, the realization hits you like a ton of bricks. [00:51:02] Speaker D: It's the fucking blue man. [00:51:04] Speaker B: Does he. Does he still have arrows in him like a pin cushion? [00:51:08] Speaker A: You will have to tap Kaito. You will have to sidle up to Kaitoa and prickly Pete and ask him that. [00:51:15] Speaker B: Am I. Do I have tic tacs in my pocket? [00:51:18] Speaker E: I got tic tacs in my pocket. [00:51:21] Speaker D: No. [00:51:23] Speaker A: Well, yeah, there is very little stealth out here on the. On the plains of Pulba, but, yeah, rook, Kaitoa, you can look back and you could do a perception roll with advantage, specifically on the condition of the blue armor. Yeah, yeah. [00:51:40] Speaker C: I'm looking for the same arrow wounds that we placed on him. [00:51:45] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:46] Speaker C: Back in the city. Okay, I like. We got 21. [00:51:53] Speaker A: Okay, well, Kaitoa, you would recall the long barbed shafts that rook had landed right into the chest. You would recall the arrows that Steve had popped right into the eyelets, the eye slots of the helm. They have been removed. Their traces remain. Like there are these puncture marks where the armor has been, you know, rent, but the arrows have been removed and discarded. [00:52:25] Speaker E: But the armor still has puncture marks. [00:52:27] Speaker A: That's correct. Bela kaffelf, your curiosity is piqued. [00:52:39] Speaker B: I think Steve should try to dagger him and see if he gets on. Like, if he just powers through it, like the last time. That's what I'm saying. [00:52:49] Speaker C: Like tag him with an arrow. If he takes it, it's the same dude. Or this armor just has some defensive property. That's fucking huge. It might not be the same guy. It just might be a defensive property of the armor. [00:53:05] Speaker B: If it was a defensive property, the armor wouldn't the kind of the marks from the previous arrows noticeable? [00:53:15] Speaker C: Yeah, but if this drops, if we tag him with an arrow and he drops, then it's like, clearly not the same guy, not who you are. Yeah. [00:53:26] Speaker A: And guys, now you are leaving the Polba planes. The road sort of re materializes and now collects itself into a recognizable path that is heading still roughly west by northwest. What are you guys doing? [00:53:43] Speaker B: So the guy in blue with the yellow shield, he's out in front of everybody else. All the other pursuers are back. Everybody else has been delayed in one. [00:53:54] Speaker C: Way, I guess, like Steve, take down. [00:53:57] Speaker B: The guys next to him. Well, I think we gotta do a single shot at him if we wanna. [00:54:03] Speaker C: Are we gonna take him on alone? [00:54:07] Speaker B: Is it the same guy or does the armor have special properties or. Yeah, at least give him a little pop. One little pop, you know, taste. [00:54:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:54:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:54:19] Speaker A: Okay, guys, I would like everybody to roll initiative. As in this moment, the decision has been made for you. There are arrows flying at the party. [00:54:32] Speaker E: That was a Nat 2018. [00:54:37] Speaker D: Non natural 20 for me. [00:54:39] Speaker A: Non Nat 20. So Bell leg in the lead, 14 for rookie with modifier there. [00:54:47] Speaker B: Yes, sir. [00:54:48] Speaker A: Stolas. [00:54:48] Speaker D: And Stolas gets a non net 20 as well. Okay. [00:54:53] Speaker E: Stole a Steve roll up. Stole a Steve roll up. [00:54:58] Speaker D: Steve wins. [00:55:01] Speaker E: Are you sure? [00:55:02] Speaker B: Master always wins. [00:55:09] Speaker A: So these gnolls on horseback all have drawn a bow as they just reach the ability to shoot at the party. It's a wild disadvantage. And let me just line this up here. Mm hmm. And we have one hit and one of the party is going to take a six damage and it'll be who's on the list there? Oh, the man. Steve. [00:55:48] Speaker E: Thank God. [00:55:50] Speaker A: And right beside the party are four other arrows clattering around the horses hooves at the exact same time. Party the distance is closed. The figure atop this first war stallion here is charging amazingly fast to towards the party. And now, Beleg, you are up. And he has now moved, it looks like, within about sort of 60ft closer to you guys. And, you know, although we've rolled initiative, I'm assuming this is moving initiative, prickly Pete and Augustus and everybody is still moving at the moment together. Yes. Yeah. [00:56:36] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:56:36] Speaker A: Okay. Bellied with the napkin. Up first. [00:56:40] Speaker E: And his cronies are still behind. [00:56:43] Speaker A: His cronies are now further behind. Yes. [00:56:48] Speaker E: All right, so they're out of my range then 90. [00:56:53] Speaker A: And yes, they are. They have fallen outside of the range of e blasting. [00:56:58] Speaker B: The blue guy has. [00:57:00] Speaker A: The blue guy has totally entered and remained in the 120. [00:57:07] Speaker E: I am going to fire two eldritch blasts at Blue Man's horse. [00:57:13] Speaker A: Okay, so at 90ft you have targeted the mount. [00:57:19] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:57:19] Speaker A: Okay, roll it up. [00:57:23] Speaker E: That's another nat 20. [00:57:25] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [00:57:26] Speaker A: Whoa. [00:57:28] Speaker E: And the second one was not the best. It was an eleven, but still, that's a nice. It feels good to nap. Guys. [00:57:38] Speaker C: How do you. [00:57:39] Speaker D: Can you push a horse back? [00:57:41] Speaker E: I'm hoping so. [00:57:43] Speaker A: I hope this horse has airbags. [00:57:47] Speaker E: Oh, I hope blue guy goes head over horse. [00:57:51] Speaker B: Head. [00:57:52] Speaker A: So, Bellic, you note that there had just been a, you know, a huge rush of speed from this horse and its riders spurning it on. And in this very moment, you have pushed the horse, you know, back and away from the rider and he is going head over heels forward. Would you care to roll? Damage? [00:58:17] Speaker E: I was eight damage to the horse. Did my second attack hit the horse's ac? [00:58:25] Speaker A: What was it again? Eleven armor class eleven war horse. Yep. Meets it, beats it. Fuck, look at that. [00:58:31] Speaker D: Sweet. [00:58:32] Speaker E: That horse is going back 20ft. [00:58:35] Speaker A: 20, yeah. [00:58:37] Speaker E: And taking a total of twelve damage. [00:58:39] Speaker A: Oh, well, this horse is bloodied. And you see the war horse, you know, crumple and crash and its knees buckle and you clearly have broken its legs. [00:58:56] Speaker E: I don't even feel good about that. [00:58:58] Speaker A: The rider cartwheels forward into the ground and bell egg. What now? You look back, you have stayed his advance. [00:59:11] Speaker E: I'm gonna briefly retcon because I forgot to roll my crit. Damage. I only rolled for them. [00:59:17] Speaker B: Ooh. [00:59:18] Speaker A: The horse is probably dead. [00:59:20] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:59:21] Speaker A: He's only got 19 gp. [00:59:23] Speaker E: Yeah. It took 21 points of damage instead of twelve. [00:59:26] Speaker A: Well, my description stands horse broken, leg crumpled. Now you can assure yourself, for better or worse, this mount has been removed. [00:59:37] Speaker C: Blue man's horse. [00:59:39] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:59:39] Speaker A: Correct. [00:59:40] Speaker C: I. Yeah. [00:59:40] Speaker D: At least. At least the horse didn't suffer. [00:59:42] Speaker B: Belly, would you take some fall damage at that speed. [00:59:46] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Great point, great point. Let's go. Two d six. [00:59:50] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:59:51] Speaker A: Hey. Well, it's only three. It's a one and a two, but, you know, he rolls and crashes and clatters into the ground, and you hear his armor plates connecting with the ground. Anything else, Bellic? [01:00:08] Speaker E: Just a quick yee ha. [01:00:10] Speaker A: All right, Kaitoa, we're gonna see you after the what Steve Stolas Roloff stole off. Yeah. Which did you decide? [01:00:25] Speaker D: I usually go, like, Steve's got a higher plus to his initiative, so I'm just saying. [01:00:31] Speaker A: Europe five mounted knolls charge forward. They seem to be knocking a second arrow or perhaps making to in the moment that the figure in blue donning the yellow shield is taken to the ground by the half elf warlock. You're up. [01:00:49] Speaker D: Okay, so this is first round? [01:00:53] Speaker A: It is. [01:00:54] Speaker D: All right, so bonus action to put it on one of the gnolls. And I'm going to take a shot. Non natural 20. Yeah, non natural 20 for the shot. Hit. 31. [01:01:12] Speaker A: 31, yeah. Okay. And where would you say you're hitting again? [01:01:18] Speaker D: It's all about dismounting these guys. I don't want to hit it. Like, hit them top center fast, blow them off the saddle as possible. [01:01:29] Speaker A: Well, it's just like that. And you've dismounted them, and so you've taken down one of the five. [01:01:38] Speaker D: Okay. Ah, crap. Okay. 2nd, 2nd shot misses. [01:01:44] Speaker A: Okay. Your arrow is flying wide, and, I mean, these are not easy targets to hit as they charge forward in the darkness. Next. [01:01:53] Speaker D: Third one. [01:01:54] Speaker A: God. [01:01:58] Speaker D: 18 to hit. [01:02:00] Speaker A: That hits. [01:02:02] Speaker D: That is 21, 20 points. [01:02:06] Speaker A: And he is dismounted. Okay. That was a separate second rider, correct? [01:02:14] Speaker D: Yeah. Yes. The first one I hit for 31, then I missed then. Yeah. He was like. [01:02:19] Speaker A: The other horse is veering wildly. He's hit the ground, but doesn't seem to be totally out for the count. What else? [01:02:29] Speaker D: That was my shots that were obviously moving with the horse. Bonus action was done. That's it. Just taking out the guys that are shooting at us. [01:02:40] Speaker A: And you are thinning the initial wave that accompanies the figure in blue with the yellow shield. Right. You are. You're really thinning that. The numbers of five there. So we're going to transition to Stolas now, who is, I would assume, in your 60 foot range right now. [01:02:59] Speaker D: Yeah. I mean, they're still more than 100ft away. [01:03:03] Speaker A: The figure in yellow is 90, and the others are at the, what, 120. [01:03:09] Speaker B: We'd be putting some pretty good room between that in him, though, now that he's been kissed him. Right. [01:03:15] Speaker D: Maybe I'll. Maybe what I'll do is if I can, I want to get Stolas to get a better view of the figure in blue, specifically, like, is there a person under that armor? Is it like, is it a human being? Like, I want to see, like, is there actual flesh or what the fuck is wearing that arm? [01:03:34] Speaker A: I see. Well, to quickly address rook there. I mean, yeah, you tell me, you know, has rook continued on away or, you know, has the party started to, you know, twist their mounts away? Because. Yeah, if you're riding away in the next six second period, you will be up to 240 because this guy is now on the ground in a heap. [01:03:59] Speaker B: Well, I'm going to stay with the group and I'm just. As we move on our horses and he's not, we'll be putting some pretty good distances between us and him. [01:04:10] Speaker A: You would be theoretically leaving him in the dust. And that is where Stolas will inspect him. So Steve, you can dispatch Stolas back towards the. The road here where he lays, or rather the figure lays crumpled. And you would like to determine the operator. Is this armor filled with something fleshy? How do you think you'd be going about doing that? [01:04:38] Speaker D: You can move 60, he can sprint. [01:04:42] Speaker C: But. [01:04:42] Speaker D: But I would like to. Would it be possible to move 60 and then use his. His good vision to be able to see? [01:04:51] Speaker A: Hmm. [01:04:53] Speaker D: To take it basically to count for. For the rest of the distance? I suppose those. [01:04:58] Speaker A: Okay, I would say the Stolas needs to get within about 15 to 20ft to do a proper analysis of, you know, person wearing armor, as in, can they see through the eyelets you're looking for? Is there a person between the armor plating? Okay, yeah, sure. And then Stolas will be at the extremity of their range, though. [01:05:25] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, I'm expecting. I mean, if he. If we're moving away and he's going towards this may be one like the last communication before he phases out or till I lose communication with him again. [01:05:40] Speaker A: Alrighty. Well then, Stolas, you. You dispatch him directly towards. With a specific view to gain more up close information. And Stolas, don't fail us. Now, would you like to roll a perception? [01:05:56] Speaker D: Yes. Perception check. Using vision? [01:05:59] Speaker A: Yes. With advantage then. [01:06:01] Speaker D: Okay. Yeah, that is a gosh fuck. 14. [01:06:08] Speaker A: A 14. [01:06:09] Speaker D: I was hoping for 15, but. [01:06:12] Speaker A: Party. As the planes in the. The moonlight are in your rearview mirror and Astolas now swoops back towards this notable figure, you see the owl swoop low towards the helm and pause. You know, ever so briefly before wheeling back towards the party. And, Steve, you're now assured you now have the information that Stolas has observed. There is a figure in the armor, and his eyes shine through the eyelids. [01:07:01] Speaker D: He's got those goddamn night vision goggles. [01:07:09] Speaker A: And friends and adventurers. The next person to act is Kaitoa. And then rook. So, Kaitoa, what's up? [01:07:21] Speaker C: What's the distance on them? [01:07:23] Speaker A: Well, the Stolas figure scene is now receding into the distance behind you as you guys keep charging away. So it's between 90 and 120 and getting further all the time. [01:07:39] Speaker C: Yeah, I got nothing on them. So if the party's still riding, I'm gonna keep riding. [01:07:46] Speaker D: Hey, um, I, uh. With this information, I kind of take a look at Kaitoa. Is there any similarity in the eyes? [01:07:57] Speaker C: Uh, I'll do a quick look back to see if this is a bit of, like, if his eyes are human or nothing. [01:08:05] Speaker D: Well, yeah, I mean, you. [01:08:06] Speaker C: You in resembling your construct. [01:08:09] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. I mean, inside these armor. [01:08:11] Speaker B: Got the. [01:08:12] Speaker D: Got the information from stor, so I think what Steve is doing. [01:08:17] Speaker A: An actual visual comparison. Well, in this case, Steve, can you roll intelligence? [01:08:23] Speaker D: Oh, that's my favorite. It's not as bad as Chris. Just a straight intelligence check. [01:08:29] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. [01:08:29] Speaker D: Okay. [01:08:30] Speaker A: And yet, Kaitoa looks back and gives you a, you know, a portrait for comparison. [01:08:36] Speaker D: It's 1212. [01:08:39] Speaker C: Well, can I also look back and. [01:08:42] Speaker E: You, Scott, construct ro. [01:08:45] Speaker A: That is true. Well, Kaitoa, in that moment, can you roll, as well? And maybe I'll take you and Steve's role combined. [01:08:52] Speaker C: If he's got glowing eyes, I'd be able to see him. [01:08:55] Speaker A: Ah. [01:08:56] Speaker C: What do you want me to roll? [01:08:58] Speaker A: Perception. [01:08:59] Speaker C: Oh, thank you. 19. [01:09:03] Speaker A: Well, so, both Steve and you can be assured as you zoom in and Steve has Stolas. And your information is combining here. No, it does not appear to be the sort of glassy material eye that you see reflected back towards you as you look at your companion, Kaitoa, this appears to be a living being sheathed and encased in armor. And their eyes shine out not with an artificial light or a magical aura, but with rage. [01:09:47] Speaker D: With my knowledge of humanoids, is this something that I'm familiar with at all? [01:09:53] Speaker A: Hmm. Mm hmm. Steve, can you roll history? [01:09:59] Speaker D: That's not a good one for Steve. Oh, not a bad one, either. [01:10:03] Speaker A: And then, I suppose, anybody else? Bellag and rook, as you're looking, Kaitoa and Steve, I'm going to say you are slowing down. You are checking your horses. Maybe you're not going. Just 100% speed. As you start to look back upon this figure, and he is now up on one elbow. [01:10:22] Speaker C: I was gonna say if. Have I ever come across something with that look throughout the years? [01:10:29] Speaker A: Okay. [01:10:30] Speaker D: Steve is living in the moment. He doesn't care much for history. [01:10:35] Speaker A: Okay, well, you tried to recall back in is something about the humanoid that you saw originally bearing the yellow shield. What was it? Oh, you just can't quite remember. What was it about that figure that was notable and Kaitoa, what, do you. [01:10:54] Speaker C: Want me to rule history? [01:10:55] Speaker A: I think so. I think so. Thinking about your knowledge of artificial beings, constructs, golems, or thinking about that in conjunction with. Who is this 1818? Well, Kaitoa, as you zoom in and as you confirm, this is not a creature like you. You know, this is in some way, a person encased in armor. You remember the half sized figure in yellow originally leading that cavalry charge through is tell Jane anything else. Kaitoa, you know, as you have now spent the majority of your move kind of looking over your shoulder plate and now getting very focused on this. This figure. [01:11:55] Speaker C: Unless we, like, want to stop and fight him, keep riding. I think we can't stop right now. We're all too weak. We need to keep going. This sounds like a fucking dwarvish dick. [01:12:15] Speaker A: Okay, Kaito, in this moment, and, you know, I think you guys are kind of sharing this information. And Bell, I exclaim, tell chains and you're up. [01:12:27] Speaker C: These fucking wannabe robot little man syndrome pieces of shit. [01:12:34] Speaker E: I might throw a crazy Hail Mary just for shits and gigs right now. [01:12:41] Speaker B: Yo, do it. [01:12:43] Speaker C: Bomb ass in the last minute. [01:12:46] Speaker E: I'm not gonna bomb his ass. [01:12:48] Speaker D: I'm gonna take it. [01:12:50] Speaker E: I'm gonna channel some. Some patron shit here because I had a nice conversation with her. [01:12:58] Speaker A: Yeah. So half elf warlock, you know, if you are. If you are trying to draw on some power, you will risk a level of exhaustion. [01:13:09] Speaker E: Oh, that makes a lot of sense. And, Rob, I'm gonna. I'm gonna touch down. I'm gonna concentrate on my tattoo. [01:13:19] Speaker A: Okay. [01:13:20] Speaker E: Now I'm gonna reach down on my horse and cast sculptor of flesh on the horse and transform it into a young black dragon whilst riding it. [01:13:34] Speaker A: Okay. [01:13:36] Speaker E: And I'm gonna try and double back and pick up the man in blue armor and carry him to pulp as a prisoner of ours. [01:13:48] Speaker A: Can you please roll, first and foremost? [01:13:51] Speaker C: Sounds huge. [01:13:53] Speaker A: A constitution, a saving throw. [01:13:59] Speaker E: Yes. [01:14:00] Speaker A: And as you look down at your tattoo and concentrate as you described, it begins to sort of. The outline begins to morph and reshape. [01:14:10] Speaker E: Into what looks like a dragon, a non nat 20. [01:14:18] Speaker A: You feel all of your internal energies and your reserves of strength drained, but you are able to make this invocation and your mount. Did you name this creature? [01:14:36] Speaker E: Steve, did you name my mount? You seem to have full naming rights. [01:14:42] Speaker D: No, no, we were too busy with the. The running. I just got. I just got my own. [01:14:49] Speaker A: Well, Bella. [01:14:50] Speaker E: Lionel. [01:14:51] Speaker A: Lionel. [01:14:52] Speaker E: Lionel. [01:14:53] Speaker A: Yes. [01:14:55] Speaker D: There we go. [01:14:56] Speaker A: Can you please describe, you know, the. The word that you use as you transform Lionel britches a young black dragon. [01:15:10] Speaker E: It's, uh, we're gonna soar like the commodore snake. Lionel. [01:15:18] Speaker A: As you say those words, a instantaneous and actually not hideous transformation takes place. There is a dragon almost, you know, popping out from the proportions of this rather than small horse in comparison, is a rather large dragon creature. And although we say young black dragon, this is still an extremely large, winged, airborne creature. And bellic. What do you intend? You said you would like to swoop into the oR, down to the position of this. The figure in blue. [01:15:59] Speaker E: Yeah, I'd like to command the dragon to grab him with his. With his feet and then carry him pulled away from his crew. [01:16:11] Speaker A: And how would you like to do that? [01:16:13] Speaker E: How? [01:16:14] Speaker A: I mean, it's cinematic as fuck, and I feel like I almost just want to say it happens. [01:16:22] Speaker E: Yeah, well, Lionel. I'd rise up on Lionel and rear on my reinst turn around, do like, a 45 degree angle dive bomb on the man in blue armor, and then kind of pull up and, like the. Like a bald eagle grabbing a fish out of the water. Like, pull up, feet extended, talents extended. [01:16:49] Speaker A: Wow. [01:16:50] Speaker D: Okay. [01:16:53] Speaker A: It is epic. And can you roll a strength? Young black Lionel, you have a 19. You have a plus four strength. [01:17:04] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna use inspiration. [01:17:07] Speaker A: Oh. [01:17:10] Speaker E: Oh, no. It fell. [01:17:12] Speaker D: Don't do it. [01:17:15] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [01:17:17] Speaker E: That's a seven. [01:17:21] Speaker A: Party. [01:17:22] Speaker D: So close. [01:17:24] Speaker E: It was all going so well. [01:17:26] Speaker A: Party. Pay close attention. As the young black dragon polymorphed, Lionel the gnoll warhorse swoops in with the right talon and kind of picks up this figure in blue armor. His grasp doesn't quite clutch around properly. And now the yellow shield shield is falling and clattering to the ground. And yet the dragon is taking off and gaining air. And now the body. The figure falls momentarily, but is caught by the young black dragon's other claw. But caught in a most hideous way. A talon goes right through the body. [01:18:16] Speaker C: I'm okay with that. [01:18:21] Speaker E: And what happens? [01:18:24] Speaker A: Party. You see Beleg successfully executing this move, and he is riding atop the young black dragon that has the figure in his talons and is making off westwards in the sky. And that, friends and adventurers, is where we will have to leave you tonight on this episode of dungeons and blackguards. [01:18:57] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:18:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:19:05] Speaker D: Shit. Shit, man. [01:19:08] Speaker C: Lynel. Beast. [01:19:13] Speaker D: What the fuck is this guy? [01:19:16] Speaker E: I don't know, but hopefully we're gonna find out either way. [01:19:19] Speaker C: We want his armor, that's for sure. [01:20:24] Speaker A: I'm cracking into a. Oh, this is kind of appropriate. Oh, hobgoblin. The Witchwood. [01:20:30] Speaker B: Ooh. [01:20:31] Speaker E: They have that in cans. I know that they can that. [01:20:34] Speaker C: Yeah, they do know. [01:20:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:20:36] Speaker A: Since I'm a little sick, it's kind of nice because it's got that sort of almost like a cough syrupy taste. [01:20:43] Speaker E: Man, when I'm sick and I'm drinking beer, I just want the most abrasive, poppiest. I just pray for the antibacterial properties of hops to cure my throat. [01:20:56] Speaker C: Like the barley. Like, I'm sick, so I'm gonna drink a barley wine. [01:20:59] Speaker E: But, like, not just any barley wine, like an old cellar dweller barley wine. Like, fuck my body up with hops kind of palate. [01:21:07] Speaker C: Record the Hopitussin. [01:21:11] Speaker D: Can someone make a. Like, a lean beer and call it Hopitussin? [01:21:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, previously on dungeons and blaggards. Well, actually, no, I should always say, welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode of dungeons and blaggards, pending level seven adventurer intros. [01:21:36] Speaker B: We're not level seven yet. [01:21:37] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [01:21:39] Speaker B: No rest on the wicked. [01:21:41] Speaker E: We'll be pending level eight adventures by the time we get a long rest. [01:21:44] Speaker A: No kidding. [01:21:49] Speaker E: Bell Egg has one. Absolutely ridiculous. [01:21:52] Speaker C: What is that noise? [01:21:54] Speaker B: Bubs. [01:21:55] Speaker D: Bubbles the bubs. [01:21:58] Speaker C: I know that hackath.
