[00:00:03] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers to another episode of Dungeons and Blaggards. I am your dungeon master, Robulon. Joining me in no particular order are the players. Tomo! [00:00:17] Speaker B: I am playing Steve Tehuman, Level 5 Gloomstalker Ranger Fighter, Level 2, Rogue, Level 1. I have an owl. Brandon! [00:00:29] Speaker C: I am Ekurook Punschlaye, Level 8 Blood Hunter, half orc. And I have breast enhancements. Braeden! [00:00:40] Speaker D: Hey, I'm Braeden. I play Beleg Degar, half elf, Hexblade warlock, level eight. Eric! [00:00:48] Speaker E: I'm Eric. I play Dr. Zozo Brightfeather, a level eight Arakocra artificer. [00:00:54] Speaker A: And last but not least, Caleb! [00:00:59] Speaker F: Domo Arigato... I am the construct, Kaitoa Tata. I am a level 8 warforged barbarian. [00:01:13] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blagguards. [00:01:19] Speaker E: Remember when I blew the whole party up? [00:01:24] Speaker C: I played a pretty big part in that as well. [00:01:28] Speaker A: What a crazy. [00:01:28] Speaker B: Kriz-bomb blew up all the ships, killed a few people, and the thing is still alive. [00:01:35] Speaker E: That shows you that - like that? That's redeeming for me and Zozo. To be like, had we not done it... [00:01:42] Speaker C: That, oh, yeah, we wouldn't have survived [00:01:45] Speaker A: We wouldn't. [00:01:46] Speaker E: We all would have died by the hands of the Kraken. [00:01:50] Speaker D: I would have flown away. [00:01:51] Speaker E: No, of course. [00:01:53] Speaker C: Yeah - flying away [00:01:57] Speaker E: Yeah. No, that needed to happen. I'm glad that happened. That was badass, Zozo. [00:02:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:02] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:02:03] Speaker E: Yeah, that was sick. The boat was here, the Kraken was here. Now they're not, and now you're all in the water. [00:02:16] Speaker B: So that thing is still in the water? [00:02:20] Speaker D: Allegedly. [00:02:22] Speaker C: Okay, hopefully we scared it off for now. I mean, maybe it just wanted the boats. [00:02:30] Speaker B: It just liked eating wood and not people. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Friends and adventurers, the floor is yours. Beleg Dagar. You've got Zozo Brightfeather. But beyond the waves, 120ft away, you see Stolas, who has alighted upon the purple rowboat. And then Rook and Kahtoa nearby. [00:03:00] Speaker D: Yeah, I went straight for the mimic chest because it was the first thing I saw and transformed to look like the Keeper. [00:03:07] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, right. Yeah. And so the crate is gone. You know, this mimic chest is like a free mimic, and its brass eye looks up at you lovingly and always looking at you for some sort of assurance that you are definitely its owner. Dangerous pet. [00:03:26] Speaker D: Oh, yes. Did you see my heroics back there, mimic? Oh, killed a Kraken, Killed a quadriplegic. I did it all. [00:03:38] Speaker E: Killed a cripple at sea. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Its little brass eye kind of Blinks at you lovingly. Oh, it's very content. And so you have a nice, buoyant mimic chest. You know, it's about six feet long. And then the waves crash around. But thank goodness the thunder and lightning has subsided. And now we're certainly out of initiative. [00:04:04] Speaker D: First order business is to take my healing gauntlet and blow all four charges onto Zozo. Okay. [00:04:12] Speaker A: Can you roll four D4 brass healing gauntlets? [00:04:18] Speaker D: Yeah, just a straight D4. Seven. Seven total healing points. [00:04:25] Speaker A: Okay. Zozo, does that take you anywhere into the realm of healthy? [00:04:32] Speaker C: It does, yes. Now I have three hit points. Thank you. [00:04:38] Speaker B: Hey! [00:04:41] Speaker C: You're back. [00:04:41] Speaker E: Zozo is alive! [00:04:45] Speaker D: And I'd also like to. I don't think I'm actually armed right now, so I might rock my pact of the blade. And trying to think of the best weapon that would act as a ore probably is a glaive. Like a wooden glaive? Like a hefty glaive. Not my nice glaive. [00:05:06] Speaker A: Well, beleg. As you look down at the tattoo on your forearm and you summon your glaive, blade morphs into just about the biggest type of polearm that is almost oar-like in appearance. And it's gonna make a fine tiller. [00:05:30] Speaker D: Perfect. How you feeling, Zozo? [00:05:37] Speaker C: She coughs up a bunch of water. I think she just needs a minute, but she'll be fine. [00:05:49] Speaker A: All right, that's good. [00:05:51] Speaker D: Pat her on the head. [00:05:54] Speaker C: How are things going at the. The rowboat? [00:05:57] Speaker D: Yeah. And is Steve with us on the mimic chest? Where are you, Steve? I thought you were going for the boat, Steve. [00:06:02] Speaker C: He was swimming in that direction. [00:06:06] Speaker D: Tomo. [00:06:08] Speaker B: Where are you swimming? Towards the robot. [00:06:12] Speaker D: I thought so. So it's just Zozo and I on the mimic. [00:06:17] Speaker A: And, Steve, have you closed the distance? [00:06:20] Speaker B: I blew my move. And action. So halfway, I guess. [00:06:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I'd say. You certainly make it 75% of the way there. [00:06:32] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:06:33] Speaker B: I just used my healing, my second wind as a bonus. [00:06:41] Speaker A: So, party, you are being held together by Steve's extreme athletic prowess here. I will say, though, it's still only, like, 12:30 at night. You're 100 miles from any semblance of land, and the starlight and the moonlight is all you have. So Steve's little head, his little poncho head bobbing away. And then the two various party groups here are still, you know, not quite together. [00:07:15] Speaker E: My little poncho head... who's in order? [00:07:18] Speaker B: Whose turn is it now? [00:07:20] Speaker C: I think we're out of initiative, aren't we? [00:07:21] Speaker A: No, we ended Initiative with Beleg at the bottom of the order. Oh. [00:07:26] Speaker E: So did Kaitoa make it to the rowboat? [00:07:29] Speaker A: to the rowboat at this point? Finally, just as Stolas alights upon the purple rowboat, you and Rook are trying desperately to clamber aboard. But you and Rook combined, so you're having trouble getting on. So I would say now there is a bit of a puzzle ahead of you. [00:07:52] Speaker E: So really, I'm more concerned about getting Rook's body onto the boat. Kaitoa really has no issue with breathing underwater. Being frozen. [00:08:03] Speaker D: There's a bottomless sea. [00:08:05] Speaker E: Yeah. Yes, I. I will keep swimming if need be. I'm basically the jack of this Titanic plank of wood, and Rook is my rose. [00:08:20] Speaker A: Well, Kaitoa, can you roll? Let's see. What would you roll? [00:08:25] Speaker E: Maybe a strength to get him up onto the boat. [00:08:28] Speaker A: Can you roll a Persuasion. And your construct parts are aiding you? [00:08:38] Speaker E: Oh, I. I was gonna ask. [00:08:40] Speaker A: Are they. [00:08:41] Speaker E: That's the other thing. I didn't know whether they were now, like, inept or, like, mute. Did they stop working once they've done their healing? [00:08:52] Speaker A: They've had short rests aplenty. Oh, okay. [00:08:55] Speaker E: So they. They're continually. Yeah, they need rest just like I do. But they are now. It's not like, temporary hit points where once I use them, they're gone. They will regenerate or be with me until I part with them. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Yeah. These things seem to have a life of their own. And you roll Persuasion. I mean, there's definitely a buoyancy to them as well. Right. You know, they carry their own weight, and they don't add encumbrance to you. So. [00:09:28] Speaker E: Persuasion 13. [00:09:30] Speaker A: Okay. Well, the bar is pretty low with these parts. And they aid you in dumping Rook's body into the bottom of the rowboat. They balance the rowboat out, and almost like an extra hand, they kind of lay him down for you. And now it's just you in the water. You've deposited Rook successfully into the boat. [00:09:58] Speaker C: Sweet. [00:10:00] Speaker A: Steve, you are now only, I would say, within arm's reach of Kaitoa. And Kaitoa, all of a sudden, you feel the tap of a hand on your shoulder. [00:10:14] Speaker D: A tap of a hand. [00:10:15] Speaker E: It's Steve. [00:10:17] Speaker A: Steve. [00:10:18] Speaker E: Yeah, I was gonna say. There's no one else. [00:10:21] Speaker B: It's a tentacle. [00:10:24] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:10:27] Speaker B: That sucks. [00:10:28] Speaker E: This is a small rowboat, man. Living again. [00:10:35] Speaker A: I'm okay in the water here. [00:10:36] Speaker E: I'll just, like, hold on to the boat and keep myself afloat. Like, maybe I'll tie myself to this boat so I don't get drifted Away. But we gotta get Rook alive if you have anything to heal him with, or if we can contact the other party. [00:10:52] Speaker B: Are we. Is it just you and me here? [00:10:55] Speaker E: Me, you, and Rook, man. All right. [00:10:57] Speaker B: How's. How's Rook looking? [00:11:00] Speaker E: He's dead. [00:11:04] Speaker B: Oh, like. Like mostly dead. Like true love. [00:11:09] Speaker E: I mean, I'm gonna talk to. To look at him and be like, steve, he looks like a dead ork [00:11:17] Speaker A: quick medicine? Steve. He looks like a dead ork. You know, Steve, you're now treading water at the edge of the purple boat. [00:11:27] Speaker B: Oh, no, I'm in the boat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, Steve does not want to be in the water anymore. [00:11:38] Speaker B: Yeah, plus one. Steve is. Steve is out of the water, like real quick. [00:11:43] Speaker D: All right. Cold. [00:11:44] Speaker E: He's not responding. [00:11:45] Speaker B: Medicine is a 16 altogether for Steve. [00:11:49] Speaker A: Well, you know, Kaitoa, you assess also that the frigid Rook is now, you know, joined by Steve, the young boy from Moy. Steve. But you're not dealing with cadavers. Nobody's dead yet. In terms of Rook, eh [00:12:10] Speaker E: I have a tenuous grasp on living and breathing. And Rook to me look dead [00:12:16] Speaker A: Oh, there's one of Captain Flagon's. Flagon ales. Sorry? Flagon barrels. Barrel ales. [00:12:24] Speaker B: I can't see the rest of the party. [00:12:26] Speaker A: It is very hard to make out where Belleg, Zozo and the chest are. It's just you and Kaitoa and Rook and the purple boat and Stolas. [00:12:36] Speaker B: How are we still doing as far as like, thunder, lightning. [00:12:42] Speaker A: Receded, dissipated. And now those two moons have finished that transit where it might appear that the moons will someday, you know, collide on their sort of oblique angles and, you know, thank goodness the storm is gone, but the waves are still quite rough. You're in the middle of nowhere. [00:13:06] Speaker B: I can send. I can send Stolas up for. [00:13:08] Speaker E: Yeah, and I'm gonna tie myself to our rowboat. And I'm still in the water and I'm just gonna start kicking and paddling. [00:13:15] Speaker A: Kicking away. Okay. Can you roll a survival or a strength, whichever you feel is more appropriate. And then Stolas and then Beleg. And then Zozo, who is just now sort of back in some sort of conscious state. Can you all as a group role perception. [00:13:37] Speaker D: Yeah, I'd also. I, I. [00:13:39] Speaker C: That was a crit fail. Oh. [00:13:42] Speaker D: Oh, good. You're on the fucking other. The flotation device with the other guy who can't roll perception to signal. [00:13:50] Speaker C: Oh, I'VE still got salt water in my eyes. [00:13:53] Speaker D: That's a seven for Beleg. [00:13:55] Speaker A: Oh guys. [00:13:59] Speaker D: Belle should be able to look up at the stars and have a good sense of navigation because he was the guy at the helm of the Auboatgene [00:14:08] Speaker B: Stolas got a 12. [00:14:10] Speaker A: Oh okay. Stolas makes it happen. Stolas manages now to to rope you guys back along their trajectory. And thank goodness Beleg and Zozo. Stolas leads you back to Steve and Rook and Kaitoa. [00:14:31] Speaker E: Kaitoa's got a 15 for strength on the. [00:14:34] Speaker A: Okay, well then Kaitoa, as you are propelling the rowboat gene, you now are joined alongside by the bobbing mimic chest. And there's Beleg paddling away with this huge huge oar shaped glaive. And there's, oh there's Zozo on the front. And Zozo is just like slumped and a little bit of drool escapes her beak and her very cute and endearing. You know, polar cap and earmuffs are ice caked. Everybody is is frigid and freezing. Although to the construct this means nothing. [00:15:21] Speaker D: I'm just paddling. [00:15:22] Speaker E: Yeah, it's just gonna keep swimming. [00:15:26] Speaker D: And like I said, I should have a pretty good idea of the stars by now because I've been at the half of this boat for our whole trip. I should know the trajectory that we need to go on. [00:15:36] Speaker A: Okay, Beleg, why don't you also roll survival? [00:15:40] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm just in the water like doing my Olympic swim, towing anything and I just need pointed in the right direction. But I'm just going to keep swimming. [00:15:51] Speaker A: Okay, you are like an outboard motor. Beleg, take out your astrolab. [00:15:57] Speaker B: Steve. [00:15:57] Speaker D: My survival was 18 plus one, so I'm 19. [00:16:02] Speaker A: Okay, great. You have a fantastic sense. You are actually orienting your yourself towards the constellation of Kudur the hunter, the battle father God. The constellation Kudur with his belt - obvious in the northern sky here - you're heading towards the maw. And am I to understand that you feel you still have two little seaworthy vessels? Are we somehow. Do you still have a convoy of two vessels? [00:16:36] Speaker D: Yep. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Not quite the same. [00:16:40] Speaker E: We have a smaller like smaller footprint. As far as a footprint. Yeah, like there's less chance a Kraken's gonna be like oh hey giant, attack it. [00:16:54] Speaker A: Well friends and adventurers, you are now a little tiny floating mimic chest and a - not much larger - It's only about an 11 foot - purple rowboat here. It does have a collapsed mast. There is no sail material though and it is now about 1 o' clock in the morning. Drifting now, folks. [00:17:19] Speaker D: Use your poncho. Poncho sail. [00:17:22] Speaker E: Is there anything in this mimic chest? [00:17:25] Speaker D: Yeah, we know it's. [00:17:26] Speaker C: There's a leaking sarcophagus. [00:17:29] Speaker D: Yeah. We're keeping it closed. Yeah. Trying to tell the mimic to do something to make us go faster. [00:17:34] Speaker C: But we'll probably have a second crane bomb if we open it. [00:17:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:40] Speaker C: I think zozo's gonna start going through her. Her alchemical supplies and trying to put together a potion out of the stuff that isn't all wet and waterlogged to try and give herself some healing. [00:17:56] Speaker E: Can Kaitoa slowly start gathering kelp and seaweed? [00:18:02] Speaker D: Trying to make a. [00:18:05] Speaker E: If I can knit anything, I'm gonna slowly start. You're just like. [00:18:10] Speaker D: Are you basically an otter on your back, toeing them on backstroke and then on your belly? [00:18:15] Speaker B: Yeah, just little kicks. [00:18:16] Speaker A: Kaitoa, can you roll for kelp? [00:18:20] Speaker E: I want to roll for any kind of material I. Can that be perception? [00:18:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Perception. [00:18:30] Speaker E: Eleven. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Okay. There is a floating patch of kelp. [00:18:37] Speaker E: Yes. I'm gonna gather it. And on my back as I'm, like, toeing. Just doing a little toe pick as children in the water, as I'm taking a little break from my breaststroke, I'm gonna just start knitting. Yeah. A bit of a blanket or a makeshift sail. [00:19:02] Speaker A: Okay. Kaitoa begins to collect the material. Zozo, you're beginning to sort of address the major damage that you have taken. May I sort of understand? Are you indeed piloting the chest? [00:19:17] Speaker D: Yep. [00:19:18] Speaker B: Nice. [00:19:21] Speaker A: I love. [00:19:21] Speaker B: Is there an extra ore in the boat that we can pass over? [00:19:27] Speaker A: I love it. [00:19:28] Speaker C: Okay. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Okay. Just want to make sure. [00:19:31] Speaker B: Hey, rob the Zozo. Zozo's not looking very good. [00:19:36] Speaker A: Zozo's looking at about 18 of where she should be in turn on vitality. [00:19:43] Speaker B: All right. I'm going to use healing spirit, and I am going to put it. [00:19:52] Speaker D: Row ourselves in circles around the healing. [00:19:55] Speaker B: Actually. [00:19:55] Speaker C: How's Rook looking? [00:19:56] Speaker A: Maybe. I think it's fair to say we could all roll and all roll for rook. And you're taking 10 rounds. [00:20:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's the. Yeah, it's the one minute. [00:20:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:07] Speaker B: You get 10. I guess if. If we're doing it. 10. 10 by 6, easy. [00:20:10] Speaker A: I got them all. There we go. [00:20:13] Speaker E: So, Robin, while this roll happens, let me know that, like, how often I have to roll for collection. Like, if I'm constantly collecting seaweed. [00:20:23] Speaker A: Sail building. Minigame. Okay. What'd you get on your. What'd you get on Your hit points. So, actually, Rook was restored actually fairly nicely from death. I've already rolled his death saving throw. They just. [00:20:38] Speaker B: Oh, excellent. Okay. I thought he was dead. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Yes. Anybody who wants to participate in the tiny little kodamas that are so cute as they get summoned. [00:20:49] Speaker B: They're all blue and glowy and they're. [00:20:53] Speaker D: Well, I'm rolling the out of these D6s. [00:20:55] Speaker B: They're smooth like little baby dolphins with legs and feet. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Oh, listen to them. And they. [00:21:03] Speaker D: I got 30. [00:21:04] Speaker A: They restore. [00:21:06] Speaker D: Thank you, Steve. Almost take another Kris Blast 38. [00:21:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that nearly restores me. [00:21:16] Speaker E: Yeah, I, I. Unfortunately, I don't think I can benefit from this without like actually stopping and mending. How's my makeshift sail going? [00:21:26] Speaker A: Well, as the moons now descend and you have made it almost half of the way party, I would like everybody to kind of participate then in how you have made this ragtag convoy almost half of the distance. You've been sailing all night, and now the sun is beginning to rise. So, Kaitoa, I mean, first describe to me how this wonderful sail is built. [00:21:57] Speaker E: On my back started weaving a giant braid. The boat caught it. And then I started weaving the other end. And slowly as I start collecting things on my back, kicking, towing the boat. I'm just weaving at my chest and feeding the line back to the boat. And they're helping mend it into a giant square. [00:22:23] Speaker A: A square sail. Classic. So a square sail. And what would you say you've used to make the sort of the cross beam? [00:22:34] Speaker E: So we've yet to do that. Yeah, I basically just been in the water, like, kicking with my feet, weaving this sail. And now that we've completed it. Yes. I would climb on board, hug the mast, and try and complete this sail. [00:22:55] Speaker A: You know what it is? Pieces of construct parts. Climb off of your exoskeleton and complete the sail. You know, the cross beam. Well, Kaitoa, in this sort of moment of necessity, you're really bonding with these construct parts. Other conscious adventurers. For although Rook is conscious, he is sort of certainly not very lucid at the moment. How would you say you are propelling yourselves? [00:23:26] Speaker D: Beleg was using his wave ore until his arms got tired. And now I think he's just like flipped around and started doing eldritch blast behind the boat. [00:23:45] Speaker E: Well, jet propulsion. [00:23:48] Speaker A: Beleg - inspiration! Keep it going. Mr. Steve and Ms. Owl, can you also do the same? How are you attempting to captain this ragtag convoy? Because it's still a half day's journey at sea. To the Maw. [00:24:05] Speaker C: I think Zozo Brews up a fortifying fumes potion to help give everybody energy and keep them warm because they were all fairly frozen. So I think. I think some. That nice big spa rub. [00:24:21] Speaker E: Zozo, do you have any healing? Because I'm down at 11. [00:24:25] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah. I can do cure wounds. [00:24:28] Speaker E: Out of 90. [00:24:33] Speaker C: I think she helped Kaitoa. She circled around above and scouted out some more kelp. Kelp fields to help complete the sale. [00:24:44] Speaker E: That or you could get on the old crow's nest and just start flapping your wings. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Okay. And then. Steve, what are you doing? [00:24:56] Speaker B: So, Steve, we've summoned the kodamas. I think he's just chilling out in the bottom of the rowboat. [00:25:05] Speaker D: I've done my work. [00:25:08] Speaker A: So as the morning comes, the party has made miraculous time. You have certainly not made the time you would have in your two fully fledged sailing vessels. But here you are, a floating chest beside a lifeboat with a beautiful square sail. It is a frosty morning and everybody is warm on their insides, you know, from their throat down to their tummy. Tum tum with the Vicks vaporub infusion of Zozo. And Beleg now lifts his glaive paddle above his head and looks out and Beleg, can you roll a perception? [00:26:01] Speaker E: Oh, geez. Got it. [00:26:07] Speaker D: Yes. [00:26:09] Speaker B: Belegian fashion. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Yep. [00:26:11] Speaker E: I was here to witness it. It's not a legend. [00:26:14] Speaker D: It's a one. [00:26:15] Speaker B: Oh, nice. [00:26:17] Speaker D: It's true. [00:26:17] Speaker E: It happens. [00:26:19] Speaker A: And Beleg, you say land ho. [00:26:24] Speaker D: All right, that's what I say. [00:26:28] Speaker A: Yeah. There's no land in sight. [00:26:30] Speaker B: That's no moon. [00:26:33] Speaker E: Can Kaitoa use his eagle vision to confirm that if it's daylight? [00:26:40] Speaker A: Kaitoa, can you zoom in? Because you know, indeed Beleg has spied something on the horizon. It does not look like a landmass. Kaitoa, why don't you zoom in? Roll perception with advantage. [00:26:54] Speaker E: It's a 19 plus 4. So 23. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Oh, there is a huge pillar of rock rising out of the ocean. You would not even call it an island. This is like a stone spire jutting out and there seems to be a temple on top of it amongst a sort of cloudy mountain. Missed, Kaitoa. So you know, Beleg, you were not wrong. But this is not the maw. This is not Tonwin. [00:27:28] Speaker E: I'll pass this on to the party because I imagine we're all within speaking distance. [00:27:34] Speaker A: I should hope so. [00:27:37] Speaker E: So if anyone has any history. [00:27:41] Speaker A: Or. [00:27:41] Speaker E: Any previous knowledge of this. [00:27:44] Speaker C: Yeah, I'd like to roll and see if I recognize it. [00:27:48] Speaker A: Okay, everybody can roll history. [00:27:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:51] Speaker D: Does Bella roll history too? [00:27:54] Speaker A: Bella? You're maybe awestruck by the majestic appearance of this rock island jutting out of the rock Island. [00:28:11] Speaker B: That's a 10 for Steve. [00:28:13] Speaker E: That's a 10. [00:28:15] Speaker B: That's 10. [00:28:16] Speaker A: That's 10. [00:28:18] Speaker E: Hits all the taste buds. Natural flavors. [00:28:22] Speaker B: That's 10. [00:28:23] Speaker E: Jutting rocks. That's a 10. [00:28:27] Speaker A: Checking in, checking in, checking in, checking in, checking in. [00:28:31] Speaker E: Chucking in. [00:28:34] Speaker A: It is very tough to discern the outline of this shadowy, rocky jutting island here. Barely an island. There's no place to land a boat. And you are passing past it. It's almost like a mirage as it goes past. [00:28:56] Speaker E: How fast are we paddling? [00:29:02] Speaker B: Ocean is serious, dude. [00:29:03] Speaker E: These toots are blowing us. [00:29:07] Speaker A: You are on the open ocean. This is on the horizon, you know, so you would have to make a huge divergence in where you're going towards the maw. You know, Beleg has spotted it. He said land over there. But say this is off to. We're on the large map now. The maw is directly, directly north east. You'd have to diverge, say, directly eastwards to go towards this. And again, now it is receding. [00:29:44] Speaker E: Do I have a rough idea how. [00:29:45] Speaker A: Far we gotta go? Oh, to get to the maw. You're halfway there. [00:29:51] Speaker E: 50. [00:29:52] Speaker B: But we're not like, we're not adrift and we're not randomly going anywhere. We know where we're going. Yep. Steve's already figured out how long it would take him to swim to the. To the moss. [00:30:03] Speaker C: We've been going for like 12 hours. [00:30:05] Speaker B: I say we're doing pretty good. If we're going straight to the maw, then we're not gonna. It's not gonna take that long. [00:30:11] Speaker A: All right. You guys are getting used to belling, by the way, as pompous pimpernel there in the purple doublet. [00:30:20] Speaker D: This chest is my friend. [00:30:23] Speaker A: And now you are very close to the maw. It's been the whole day since you were attacked by the kraken. It was almost 24 hours you guys have been at sea. Obviously very little rest. But you are now approaching a real land mass. Ton mil. [00:30:51] Speaker D: It's only been a day, but I still feel like Beleg has a really good beard going on. [00:30:58] Speaker A: Everybody has definitely incurred now one level of exhaustion. [00:31:04] Speaker D: That's disadvantage on all saving throws, right? [00:31:08] Speaker A: Yes. [00:31:08] Speaker E: Kaito's got like a rust beard. [00:31:13] Speaker A: As you arrive in the bay of Maw, it is like a rocky, impenetrable entrance, save for a tiny little dock and berth where you'll then you walk up this very, very steep rocky staircase to what looks like a very small town on the cliffs here. So now I would say you are about a quarter mile off of the shores of Tonwin and the Maw, a plateau island. You know, you have to go up about almost 180 to 200ft with this huge staircase winding back, zigzagging up and back on itself. [00:32:00] Speaker D: Well, there's a staircase that we can to. [00:32:02] Speaker C: Okay. [00:32:03] Speaker A: And you would be arriving here now. It is the middle of the day. It is freezing cold. But oh, your polar bear skin upgrades have served you so well. This dries off. This holds heat. This wicks off moisture. It is good. [00:32:22] Speaker D: Oh, I got that good scarf. [00:32:24] Speaker E: Those ugly. [00:32:28] Speaker A: Zozo with the aviator cap. Steve, what did you take there? Lining. [00:32:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I used, I used, I grabbed for lining. [00:32:37] Speaker A: So your hood and I guess the Rook got the cape. Rook got the Conor McGregor cape. [00:32:43] Speaker E: Sorry Robin, did you say we landed at MA or we're at a city outside of MA. [00:32:48] Speaker A: You were off the shore by a quarter mile. So now how is the party going to. There's a very small dock and right now it seems unmanned with this staircase going all the way up, zig zagging up to where you would actually find perhaps the entrance to this little town. [00:33:10] Speaker B: If we're suffering from exhaustion, I suggest we rest. [00:33:15] Speaker D: Yeah, rest as well. I'd like to see if they can see any indents or any caves or anything in the bluffs. A place to like offload the mimic chest while we go away. [00:33:30] Speaker A: Oh, interesting. Well there. No. I mean you don't even need to roll. Perception. No, there's no porous cave features here. They're just the waves crashing against sheer cliff face walls. Except for this one tiny berth where you know, there's this little 40 foot dock coming out from the cliffs. [00:33:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:59] Speaker D: Do I go close to the docks and rest down here or go up and see if we can find a place to rest or what? [00:34:08] Speaker E: No, I think we should rest down here before we make ourselves known that people. [00:34:15] Speaker B: Is there a good natural position that Steve can find that would allow us to. To rest safely without being seen? [00:34:23] Speaker E: We pirate booty the mimic chest and just bury it. [00:34:28] Speaker D: There's nowhere to bury it though. It's like sheer rock. A dock and then stairs. We have to try and carry it up. [00:34:36] Speaker E: Oh, so no beach? [00:34:37] Speaker A: No at all. [00:34:39] Speaker D: No. [00:34:39] Speaker C: Try to put the chest underneath the dock. [00:34:43] Speaker D: That's what I was thinking is tying my chest underneath. That was my second option. [00:34:49] Speaker A: That is a fairly logical solution. You could sling the mimic chest under a portion of this dock. The dock is obviously well established here. It's clearly got footings deep into the water. Care has been taken to make this one access point. And as you approach the dock, as you start to make your vessel, which is just a little rowboat here, are you making that discreet as well? [00:35:25] Speaker B: Cover it in kelp. [00:35:28] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Drop the sail over it. The tippy. Scuttle it. [00:35:32] Speaker C: We may need to make a quick exit. We don't know how friendly this place is. [00:35:36] Speaker D: Keep the boat the only boat we have. [00:35:40] Speaker E: We could steal another boat, but oh. [00:35:43] Speaker D: We could dump the sail. [00:35:45] Speaker E: What if we hold down the sail to cover the boat as like a camo chart? [00:35:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:53] Speaker A: Well that is a fairly logical solution as well because the only feature here is this 10 foot wide by about 40 foot long dock. You could nest underneath the dock, the camouflaged rowboat Gene. [00:36:13] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, let's do that. [00:36:15] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So it's done. And what I will do is I'm gonna have everybody roll a quick stealth check for sort of this whole thing about keeping the party's entry and their vessel and their mimic chest sort of nestled away in secret group stealth. Let's go. [00:36:37] Speaker B: Those are. [00:36:37] Speaker C: Rolled a six. [00:36:40] Speaker B: Oh, Natty 20 for Steve. [00:36:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:43] Speaker B: Natty 20 plus nine. [00:36:46] Speaker C: Wow. [00:36:46] Speaker D: Fuck. [00:36:48] Speaker E: I'm rolling great tonight. [00:36:52] Speaker D: Even after blowing inspiration. Beleg rolled a seven. [00:36:56] Speaker E: I got a 14. [00:36:58] Speaker A: I think Kaitoa and Steve kind of carried this one. So as you start to assess this huge staircase that doubles back on itself, you see way up above you a couple of little flags jutting out and they are of a sort of golden brass color. And you look way, way, way, way up there and you see birds, seagulls flying around. It's the middle of the afternoon. Although it is cold on the first of Sarch Sarge here, it's still going to get you guys pumping. And can everybody roll athletics? It's like the gross grind. [00:37:55] Speaker C: Zozo rolled a seven. [00:37:57] Speaker A: No. Zozo. [00:38:00] Speaker B: You can just fly though, right? [00:38:03] Speaker A: Zozo, can you roll with sort of cheat advantage? [00:38:07] Speaker C: Okay, that time I was an 8. [00:38:11] Speaker A: What you do is you kind of you flutter up each step and you're just still taxed. [00:38:19] Speaker B: Steve ignores difficult terrain. I think Steve just like nimbly hops up. This is just like his favorite thing to do. [00:38:31] Speaker A: Kaitoa, beleg. [00:38:33] Speaker E: Oh. [00:38:34] Speaker A: Rook 12. And in this moment, Rook will need somebody hauling him up. But the party finally touches the very top level of the zigzag staircase up to the town of Maw. And who knows who's dragging brook up, you know, by the scruff of the neck. And yes, as you sort of crest the edge here, everybody. Yes, Steve, you're up there. You're not winded, Zozo. You made it up, but certainly you are winded. There's a small town, sort of a humble and small town here, and you guys are just peering over, over the top level of the stair. As you know, Kaitoa brings Rook up by the scruff of his neck. And there's Beleg as well, kind of creeping up behind Steve and Zozo. And that, friends and adventurers, is where we will have to leave you tonight. [00:41:03] Speaker C: I'm actually surprised we all survived. See, things seem pretty dire there. [00:41:08] Speaker A: What of all times that I anticipated the crisp bomb maybe being used, this was not one of them. Yeah, I think in the end, it was a good move. [00:41:22] Speaker C: I don't know that we would have survived that. Kraken. [00:41:25] Speaker D: Yep. [00:41:27] Speaker B: For real. RIP Krizblik. [00:41:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:31] Speaker A: That is sad old foot flagging. [00:41:36] Speaker C: Yep. [00:41:37] Speaker B: Did you kill off Oldfoot because you just didn't want to do his voice anymore? [00:41:43] Speaker A: Why not I in the toothy maw of the Kraken, mwa-hah! [00:41:47] Speaker C: we didn't actually see him die, so could show up again. [00:41:57] Speaker D: I really, really, really want Rob to make some sort of Krizblik montage. Like all the audio clips of us trying to train Krizblik and finding Krizblik and... [00:42:12] Speaker B: A tribute Chris Blake. [00:42:18] Speaker A: And this. This badger is bloody and snarling, and he's coming right for you. [00:42:26] Speaker D: Animal handling and trying to try to calm it down. Cool down that badger. [00:42:30] Speaker C: I want to handle handing and check well, Rook's. I'm going to be wheeling my short swords in a ready action, and I'm going to hope Beleg rolls some fucking badass animal handling. [00:42:42] Speaker D: Yeah. I want to calm this guy down. [00:42:44] Speaker A: Roll it up. [00:42:46] Speaker D: Oh, it's not very good. He's not very calm. [00:42:53] Speaker B: I got some gorp of my gorp selection. I'm gonna. I know what badgers like to eat, so I will take out in my hand and I'll soothingly kind of walk up with the gorp in hand. Be like, buddy, fight's over, man. It's good. I got some gorp for you... [00:43:11] Speaker D: Before you commit to this, can a badger wear armor? [00:43:21] Speaker A: Dude, if you either roll for it or roll play for it, Steve, as you go up with your forest gorp. This badger is receptive. The badger seems to be, well, I don't know. Roll Animal handling skill. [00:43:46] Speaker B: Eat the fish. I roll a two I roll the four. Basically. [00:43:51] Speaker A: He does not like fish. [00:43:53] Speaker B: Not like fish. All right. [00:43:55] Speaker D: For us, well, that's pretty bad environment for him. You guys all want to go to Chintaduu? [00:44:02] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm on to Chintaduu. [00:44:05] Speaker E: Yep. [00:44:11] Speaker C: Where the heck's this badger? [00:44:13] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, that's the other question. Is Robin, we just arriving. I. I wanted to ask like, what's the progress on befriending the badger? [00:44:25] Speaker A: We're going to probably need to figure out. Steve, did you convince him of the finer tastes of seafood? [00:44:35] Speaker B: On first, I did take a, take. [00:44:37] Speaker E: A roll on it and I rolled. [00:44:38] Speaker B: Really shitty when I tried to feed him fish initially. [00:44:41] Speaker A: So you realize, you know, on the very first day as this badger kind of started making a bit of a nest between some barrels and benches, that there was still this blood caked collar around. And you also noticed something else. This is a female badger, lady badger. Because of, you know, how you coaxed it and showed some compassionate humanity. [00:45:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:45:10] Speaker A: You have a creature now that is on the way to being tamed. And you managed to on the second day, get the badger eating some fresh fish. And in fact, you know what? She's put on a couple pounds. And on the third day, as you guys batten down in the storm, the badger even came in inside to Mickey's cabin, much to his disgust. But there's a clear progression here, and I'd say with about two to three more days of building trust with this animal, you will have tamed her. These guys charge up and both of them are taking swipes at the party member closest to them. [00:46:00] Speaker E: Chris. Chris Bl. [00:46:03] Speaker A: That's a Nat 20. Oh, no. [00:46:07] Speaker E: 18. No. [00:46:11] Speaker A: And the first one here in a helm takes a chop as Krizblik tries to sort of writhe away. Four damage. And the second fellow here, who looks like a brute of a man, he's a tall human with jet black hair and no helm. And he on that natty, it was. Oh, he's gonna deal 12 damage. What was the first one? [00:46:45] Speaker B: Four. [00:46:47] Speaker E: Yeah, she's dead. [00:46:48] Speaker A: Oh, so Krizblik now is cloven by a long sword, guys, in front of your eyes. [00:47:03] Speaker B: Krizblik [00:47:04] Speaker E: Dam. [00:47:05] Speaker D: Do we all get rage? [00:47:08] Speaker C: Well, after my nice bonding with Krizblik in the reuniting there, I'm enraged by from what I'm seeing. So I am going to do a wield on these sons of bees and I'm going to go after the guy who's directly in front of me. So right at Krizblik there. The old DM hasn't said that Krizblik's dead yet. Just slumped over. [00:47:36] Speaker B: I use medicine. [00:47:42] Speaker C: Foreign. [00:47:47] Speaker F: It's an ice box. [00:47:50] Speaker E: I gently layer down inside. [00:47:53] Speaker A: Okay. It's a. [00:47:54] Speaker E: It's. [00:47:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a small ice box that looks like it's, you know, used for me. [00:47:58] Speaker E: Put it on ice. Just put it on ice. [00:48:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:01] Speaker A: Within this ice box is now the body of Krizblik. Yeah. [00:48:08] Speaker C: Foreign. [00:48:11] Speaker E: I'm going right for that icebox and I'm gonna open it up. [00:48:16] Speaker A: You stomp over there and as you gingerly just open the lid, you will notice actually that some improvements have been made to this box. You know, whereas before it was a hastily concocted solution for a deceased party member's degrading corpse, now it seems to have been maybe multi layered and it's quite cold in here. It seems to have a lot of insulation. The iceman has obviously been by, it has been refreshed and perhaps there is more at work here. But, boy, there is under the blanket the form of Krizblik. [00:48:57] Speaker E: I'm going to gently, like consolingly brush Krizblik and then close the lid again. [00:49:06] Speaker A: So green magic, not something I can perform, but better touch this creature within a year for this kind of magic. And I don't know how long it may take you, so I've. I've made a little say way that. That you might take this deceased party member with you in, shall we say, semi stasis. [00:49:33] Speaker E: So she's ready for travel. [00:49:36] Speaker A: The wizard Mem looks from underneath his bushy brows. Yes, but are you ready for travel? Leah? [00:49:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:49:50] Speaker E: Before I go, I apologize for all my intrusiveness. I am really concerned about my party member. This badger is very dear to me and it's all my priority right now in life. It's my sole purpose and I. Please forgive my abrupt nature, but I'm really concerned about it going forward. Are you able to keep her sustained or should we bring her with us in our quest for. Oh, oh. [00:50:25] Speaker F: Pulling at the heartstrings. [00:50:26] Speaker E: I am a construct. I have no tact. But going forward, I appreciate everything you guys are doing, but this. This badger is very dear to me and she trumps all courtesies. I will. I will do anything to save her. [00:50:45] Speaker F: I. Oh. What's this moisture coming out of my eyes? It struck a note. Can you roll a quick persuasion to confirm. [00:50:56] Speaker A: And Kaitoa, I will give you advantage on that. For excellent RP. [00:51:03] Speaker E: I'll take the 17. [00:51:06] Speaker F: Well, let me just spill the beans on exactly what's going on here. It's a bit of. Well, it's actually. It's actually the subterranean gnome technology there. That little icebox, it's a double walled thing, don't you see? Imbued with the capability of keeping your little black and white badger friend, well, shall we say, fresh, you know, and because of course, we're aiming for a resurrection here, I think that's what memory is possible with this Wagapaulo. Well, then you'll obviously need a thousand GP worth of diamonds. And so surely you may want to bring along your little friend as you figure out where her fate may rest in the land of the living or the dead. [00:52:02] Speaker A: Hold on. [00:52:03] Speaker E: Do you have a way we can keep her fragile? Does anybody have a hold? [00:52:08] Speaker F: Does anybody have a hanky? [00:52:11] Speaker E: I don't want her to spoil. [00:52:13] Speaker B: Steve. Steve has a handkerchief. [00:52:16] Speaker F: Steve. Thank you. [00:52:20] Speaker E: So I. I don't want her to spoil in my compartment. [00:52:24] Speaker F: No spoilage. [00:52:25] Speaker E: Is there anything you can hand me to keep her fresh? [00:52:30] Speaker F: Oh, you have a compartment. You have a badger sized compartment. [00:52:34] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:52:35] Speaker F: Oh, well, perhaps what we could do here, if there is time before your journey, is outfit you with this chest. I mean, my, it looks like it's about rucksack sized. So perhaps if you sacrificed about half of the size of your adventurer's pack, we could say that you have a frozen corpse of Krizblik back there. [00:52:56] Speaker E: All right. I'll pitch all my blinds for crisp like and. And some dry ice. [00:53:05] Speaker F: Oh, the deep gnome dry ice cream. You're aware of this technology then? [00:53:11] Speaker E: Yeah, I've come across it before. Just pack her tight, pack her securely and shove her in my bag. We're going to save Krizblik
