Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome, friends and adventurers, to another episode
[00:00:04] Speaker B: of Dungeons and Blackguards. I am the dungeon master Robulon. Joining me in no particular order, are the players and their level six characters.
Brandon.
[00:00:19] Speaker C: I am Ekiru, half orc Blood Hunter, Level 6, aka Dark Lord Caleb.
[00:00:27] Speaker D: I'm Kaito Watata, Level 6 Barbarian at Construct.
I'm here to party.
[00:00:35] Speaker E: Tomo.
[00:00:36] Speaker F: Hey, I'm Steve Tman. I am a level five Gloomstalker ranger,
[00:00:41] Speaker G: Level one Rogue, and I have a magic owl multiclasser.
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Fancy Braden.
[00:00:48] Speaker G: I'm Braden. I am playing Bellik de Garde. Level six, half elf Warlock.
[00:00:56] Speaker A: Previously on Dungeons and Blackguards.
While the party recovers following the battle of the Polar Plains, Steve searches for a place to perform a ritual in the deep forest.
At first light, the party make another less than stellar impression on the wizard Mem and the sorceress Leah. Despite some hot tempers, cooler heads prevail and the gang leave weapons, armor, and the mysteriously alluring half moon mask for identification and appraisal. Upon their return to the new seat of power in the city of Mob, the party holds court, where adventurers are forced to confront the varied effects and implications of their recent escapades. And Steve successfully resummons Stolas, an ancient warforged. Kaitoa is outfitted with a hermetically sealed coffin backpack which contains the body of his slain battle badger.
So now, having put strategies in place to ostensibly leave the city of Polb better than they found it, the party prepares to emb on a quest with still somewhat uncertain goals.
[00:02:14] Speaker E: Are we ready to roll some dice?
[00:02:16] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:02:17] Speaker G: I want to fight things.
[00:02:18] Speaker F: Let's do it.
[00:02:21] Speaker E: All present and accounted for. Well, you are going to fight things.
[00:02:28] Speaker G: Let's go to Clomburgh, save Krisblik, come back, see what the raven's messages are from. Iz and then go Iz and then crush a dungeon.
[00:02:40] Speaker C: Yeah. Should we try to get food coming into all here or.
[00:02:46] Speaker F: I think we're waiting for the response from the ravens.
[00:02:49] Speaker G: Yeah, we're waiting for the ravens messages. So I think we should just go to Flomber while we wait for that and see if we can revive Chris Blake with some green magic.
[00:03:00] Speaker F: Chris Blick is in a giant refrigerated backpack right now, right?
[00:03:03] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah.
[00:03:04] Speaker C: And he can survive up to.
[00:03:05] Speaker F: I wasn't that drunk. That didn't happen happen.
[00:03:08] Speaker C: No, no.
[00:03:08] Speaker D: It's Kaitoa's like, coolie riding backpack. Yeah, yeah.
[00:03:16] Speaker C: And ma' am said is that he suggests doing it within like a year's time so we don't need to necessarily, like, leave at this very moment because plumber is like a month away.
[00:03:29] Speaker F: Plumber is, like, really far away.
And I think there's, like, a really, really shitty part of the mainland in between.
Like, it's not fun.
Steve's done it, but he's done it by himself.
[00:03:47] Speaker G: We're a larger party.
[00:03:49] Speaker F: The resources needed. I think Steve can handle it.
But we're also party. That's a lot easier to see.
We want to do plumber. We're. We're sea pickling it.
[00:04:02] Speaker G: Like, we're finding another boat.
[00:04:04] Speaker H: Yeah.
[00:04:06] Speaker G: Going up north.
[00:04:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:04:08] Speaker F: Taking the. Taking the wild route.
[00:04:10] Speaker H: I mean, it.
[00:04:11] Speaker F: What's the worst?
I mean, Steve will survive it.
[00:04:17] Speaker D: We're like, more than equipped to do that.
[00:04:22] Speaker G: What do you want to do? Do you want to wait for the
[00:04:24] Speaker D: ravens messages or we could also wait. And can we stock up on weapons?
[00:04:32] Speaker G: Well, why do we need more weapons?
[00:04:37] Speaker D: I can use the re up on weapons.
[00:04:41] Speaker C: We've dropped off those three items at the wizard and spear. I mean, we could see if we can trade those in for some of the items off that list. That updated list we got.
[00:04:52] Speaker D: I think we could take a day to maybe haggle.
[00:04:58] Speaker C: Steve likes to haggle. We learned that.
[00:05:03] Speaker F: I'm sorry. Why are we bringing the badger back?
[00:05:10] Speaker D: Because I love her, and we're a team, and she died fighting with us.
[00:05:18] Speaker F: I don't know why we need to bring her back.
[00:05:21] Speaker G: What would you like to do, Steve?
[00:05:23] Speaker D: Cause I'll live fighting for her. She died fighting for us, and I'll live fighting for her.
[00:05:31] Speaker F: Is that how you came to be?
[00:05:33] Speaker D: No, but I mean, we were a team.
She saved my ass. And this party.
I think without her, this party wouldn't be what it is. So we need to fight to keep her a part of it.
[00:05:48] Speaker C: So I feel like Belleg wants to go to plumber for his own reason, not to save the badger.
[00:05:55] Speaker G: Pardon?
[00:05:56] Speaker C: Just saying.
What do you got going on in plumber bed?
[00:06:00] Speaker G: Are we in a fight, Eric?
[00:06:05] Speaker F: That's it.
[00:06:06] Speaker I: Group's breaking up.
[00:06:07] Speaker G: We're done.
I am happy to help revive the badger. And plumber is also where I could find more information on my heritage.
So I would like to go there.
[00:06:21] Speaker F: I have reasons for going to plumber
[00:06:23] Speaker G: as well, but out of. Out of ballet character, the idea of going into a forest presents a lot of fun monster fighting opportunities.
I really want to fight something that's not a kobold.
[00:06:35] Speaker C: Gnoll.
[00:06:36] Speaker G: Human.
[00:06:36] Speaker C: Yeah, well, and I do want to leave Paul. I mean, we've been here for a bit and time to kind of move on. But I just want to make sure that all of our things are in order before we do. So that way we can have a town to return to.
[00:06:51] Speaker G: And we did all the work we need to do to make pull up sustainable last episode for us to leave.
[00:06:57] Speaker C: Just no food coming in yet.
And we did say Iz is probably a good place to check out for the Black Arrow. Right.
[00:07:07] Speaker G: So we've got the ravens messages going over there right now. So we don't want to like with it if we can actually make peace with Izzy.
[00:07:17] Speaker C: Well, I don't want to investigate on the Black Arrow, like without.
[00:07:21] Speaker G: Want to see what the the ravens come back with. See what like the the politicians of is have to say to us.
We got time to kill when it comes to Iz.
[00:07:33] Speaker F: What I'm saying though is I have my reasons for going to plumber as well.
[00:07:37] Speaker G: So let's go to plumber.
[00:07:39] Speaker C: Hey.
[00:07:39] Speaker F: My feeling about bringing this badger back is that I don't quite understand why we should.
[00:07:46] Speaker G: Do you have a reason why we shouldn't?
[00:07:49] Speaker F: The badger has played its part.
[00:07:51] Speaker D: Uh, Steve, why wouldn't you bring her back?
[00:07:56] Speaker F: Because her story's over.
[00:07:58] Speaker G: Can we have this conversation on the road to Tlambour saying, I'll go with you.
[00:08:03] Speaker F: I'm saying I'll help you.
[00:08:05] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:08:06] Speaker E: Kaitoa and Steve, as you exchange this and Beleg as you motion and have been sort of beating your fist on the door of the white chain and saying like, let's. Let's talk on the road. Dante is coming running up.
[00:08:22] Speaker H: Hey, you guys.
Lantan sends support and the seamstresses guild wants to know if there's new heraldry being requested for the city.
200 or 300 new uniforms have been commissioned. And the nobles, it appears they are paying for it.
And yes, we have received quite a lot of support.
Gold is due from Lantin, but we are already beginning to see support come
[00:09:05] Speaker B: in from sea to the docks.
[00:09:08] Speaker C: Are we getting food?
[00:09:10] Speaker H: Yes, we're getting food.
Support from Lantin in the form of food and some other stuff they tacked on.
[00:09:19] Speaker C: Well, you said seamstress, and to me that means uniforms. Nothing about that was food.
[00:09:26] Speaker H: Oh, yes. Well, to incent the leadership there and the merchants in Lanton that run that big bazaar.
It seems like you've also commissioned about 300 new tunics, you know, for your new men, along with the foods. So, you know, upsell good old Lantern.
[00:09:45] Speaker C: We're doing good. Okay, Ben, pull the money that's needed out of the city bank to Pay for it.
[00:09:52] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:09:53] Speaker H: So who's the new Nafre?
[00:09:56] Speaker C: Me Beleg.
[00:09:57] Speaker H: Oh, shit.
Oh, all right, well, you know, a
[00:10:05] Speaker E: couple of the Nobles were maybe gonna
[00:10:07] Speaker H: try and slide into that position, you know, given that you guys look like you're about to leave. Are you gonn appoint like a deputy? Administer now. Quartermaster Poonsle. We have the deputy quartermaster.
Legless dwarf Lieutenant Dorothy. He's a hoot.
[00:10:28] Speaker G: Deputy Nafrey is Leah.
[00:10:31] Speaker F: Oh,
[00:10:35] Speaker G: from Wizard Spear. She'll be great in the position.
Pragmatic, devilicious.
[00:10:45] Speaker D: Under the breath.
Sir, have we discussed it for Julia?
[00:10:52] Speaker G: No, but she'll be down.
[00:10:55] Speaker F: All right.
[00:10:58] Speaker E: Steve, can you make a persuasion roll as you interject with a clearing of the throat?
[00:11:06] Speaker D: Oh, that was Kaito.
[00:11:08] Speaker F: That's a solid fucking one.
Oh, wow.
[00:11:12] Speaker E: No, no, Kaitoa, you were heard. You were heard in rp.
Steve was not heard by Roll, but his clearing the throat was I think beleg certainly punctuating your suggestion of Leah.
[00:11:27] Speaker I: Mickey.
[00:11:28] Speaker F: Well, God, something in my throat.
[00:11:31] Speaker C: Mickey.
[00:11:32] Speaker F: Germ.
[00:11:33] Speaker G: Germ.
[00:11:35] Speaker H: Oh, look, you guys obviously have friends in town you'd love to push into positions of power. We all know the game now. It's really just about answering the question where the gold comes from. The Nobles have already been, you know, frightened into opening their purses and coffers quite successfully. Oh boy, you guys were an intimidating bunch yesterday. Level handed. Anyways, guys, it's really just about where the money's coming from. Does Leah have tons and tons of funding? Is it? Does Mickey have tons and tons of funding? We need to make sure. Like nafta.
[00:12:06] Speaker G: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Did Nafrey personally fund a bunch of the city?
[00:12:13] Speaker H: He controlled all the budgetary concerns administrator. And he was in his little office that nobody dares go in, controlling all the purse strings.
[00:12:26] Speaker G: But it's his money that he was spending.
[00:12:29] Speaker E: No, the cities.
[00:12:31] Speaker D: Okay, use the coin purse.
[00:12:34] Speaker C: He had the support of the people who curse he was opening, right?
[00:12:38] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:12:39] Speaker H: So guys, roll it over like a candy in your mouths.
Like a candy. Message number two.
Message number two you asked me to send a razor into is to bridge the political gap or something very, very erudite and wonderful. And guess what?
[00:12:58] Speaker C: We.
[00:12:59] Speaker H: We didn't get a message back yet.
[00:13:02] Speaker G: Or you just think we won't get a message back?
[00:13:06] Speaker H: Well now, let's see. It's been three days since we dispatched the ravens with the messages you requested. You know, you had the battle of Polar Plains. You came back, you spent three days healing people, putting on shows, bonding with the symbiotic badger backpack, and Training the new soldiers. And now here we are. Food has arrived from Lantan, but no message back from Iz.
[00:13:31] Speaker D: Iz has been taken.
[00:13:33] Speaker H: All silent on the eastern front towards Iz. And you know the other strange things. Guys, I thought I had tons of ravens. And now the aviary is empty.
[00:13:48] Speaker D: So no raven returned?
[00:13:50] Speaker H: No.
[00:13:50] Speaker G: Well, maybe we should go to Iz then.
[00:13:52] Speaker D: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's been taken.
[00:13:57] Speaker G: Let's go. March on Iz.
[00:13:59] Speaker D: Guys. Iz has been overthrown.
[00:14:04] Speaker G: How you doing Steve? Are you alright with Iz?
[00:14:07] Speaker F: Maybe.
We are to scout it.
[00:14:11] Speaker G: I'd like to go to Slumber personally. But I'm okay with going to Iz.
[00:14:15] Speaker C: How about this?
I don't really want to split up the group. Never mind.
[00:14:22] Speaker G: Nope, you have all people.
[00:14:26] Speaker D: Okay. I think that the city is key. This is our revenue, this is our funding. As much as I love Chris Blake, but the city is key. We need to keep the city going.
[00:14:39] Speaker G: Well, it sounds like we've got. We've got food coming in. We've got all that coming in.
[00:14:46] Speaker C: I got stuff coming in from Lantan.
Rob, how far away or can I roll like a history or geography on how far away is Lanton to hold?
[00:14:59] Speaker F: Not very far.
[00:15:00] Speaker E: Two days by boat.
[00:15:02] Speaker C: And is is two days by horse. Right?
[00:15:06] Speaker E: Day and a half. Two days by horse.
[00:15:09] Speaker C: Okay. So relatively the same time. So we should have food coming in from land and by then.
But I thought we wanted to open up two lanes of trade. So that way this city doesn't have to be so reliant on one. Plus the Black Arrow is in is that we could investigate.
[00:15:29] Speaker F: All we know is could be a pile of gnolls because that's as far as we've gotten.
[00:15:34] Speaker G: Everybody step fucking back.
Where do you want to go and why?
Okay, let's get a council because we need to. Yeah, yeah. Let's step back.
Where do you want to go and why?
[00:15:49] Speaker D: I want to revive Chris.
[00:15:51] Speaker C: Look.
[00:15:52] Speaker G: So you want to go to Clumber?
[00:15:54] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:15:54] Speaker G: And Rock is like Steve, where do you want to go? Why?
[00:15:58] Speaker F: Do you know how to get to Clomber?
[00:16:00] Speaker G: Have you ever been?
Yes.
[00:16:02] Speaker F: You know how far away it is?
[00:16:04] Speaker G: I've been to Slumber.
[00:16:07] Speaker F: Are we taking out?
[00:16:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:16:09] Speaker C: Riding.
[00:16:10] Speaker F: Are we flying? Giant eagles.
[00:16:12] Speaker G: We're gonna ride.
[00:16:14] Speaker H: Okay.
[00:16:14] Speaker F: If we go there Iz first I'll go wherever you guys want to go. I'm pretty easy about it.
I don't really feel very well about reviving this badger.
[00:16:23] Speaker G: All right, so you want to go to his.
[00:16:24] Speaker F: Yeah, I have Things I can do there too.
[00:16:27] Speaker G: Ecruk.
[00:16:28] Speaker C: I want to go to Iz because it will be another link for our city to get food and goods and not solely rely on land.
[00:16:39] Speaker G: That's all I need to hear. You go to is. We're gonna go to Is.
[00:16:42] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:16:42] Speaker F: We hiding horses right now. How are we gonna slaughter from there?
What's in the middle?
[00:16:48] Speaker C: Right?
[00:16:50] Speaker H: Shit, guys. What sort of a decision making apparatus is that? It seems like you guys sort of just shout until you guys reach a consensus. That's not bad, actually. Now look, finally, what will you do with the vacant positions in the city and the horror left in Naafri's chamber that none dare touch?
[00:17:16] Speaker F: We can definitely bring Nafrey to that room.
[00:17:20] Speaker G: Is that our new thing now or are we gonna go to Nafrey's office?
[00:17:25] Speaker D: No, it sounds like a trap.
[00:17:27] Speaker C: Let's.
[00:17:28] Speaker G: I think we're going to Iz now.
[00:17:30] Speaker D: Yeah, let's go to Izz.
[00:17:33] Speaker C: We post up some soldiers throughout or, you know, two soldiers on both doors in Anafri's office.
[00:17:39] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:17:41] Speaker C: And then we go to Aid stop
[00:17:42] Speaker G: at Dorafil and Mickey's place and tell Dorafil that he's gonna be.
He's gonna be the quartermaster, and he'll tell Mickey that he's gonna be the Nafre, the administrator.
[00:17:56] Speaker C: Dorfil knows. He's the quartermaster, the stand in.
[00:18:00] Speaker G: Okay, well, I'll pop by and tell Mikhe that he's gonna be NAF for the. And I'm also going to warn him not to go into the place.
[00:18:07] Speaker D: No one goes in or out or Nafrey's chambers.
[00:18:10] Speaker H: Okay, so guards around Nafrey's chamber?
[00:18:15] Speaker C: Yes, a guard around his chambers. Nothing in or out.
[00:18:18] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:18:19] Speaker H: Anything else? If not, I'm heading back to Hugo Castle.
[00:18:25] Speaker G: Can I roll some insight on Dante to make sure that he's gonna be cool while we're gone?
[00:18:33] Speaker E: Yeah, sure. Roll insight on Dante the messenger.
[00:18:37] Speaker C: Well, he's doing. I asked him where can we get more ravens from?
[00:18:42] Speaker G: I'm gonna use inspiration on that.
[00:18:44] Speaker E: We gotta burn an inspiration.
[00:18:46] Speaker G: Yeah.
Wow. Even worse.
So that was an eight plus four, so a 12.
[00:18:58] Speaker E: Okay, Bellic, you would feel like Dante is, as always, a little highly strung and simply doing his best to perform his duties as a messenger. It's hard for you to, you know, perceive or. Or have any insight beyond that. He seems legit. He seems to be.
[00:19:18] Speaker I: Okay.
[00:19:18] Speaker E: He's gonna carry out your instructions.
Party.
[00:19:23] Speaker G: Okay, cool.
[00:19:25] Speaker C: Where do you get more ravens from?
[00:19:28] Speaker H: Oh, yeah, the aviary's empty.
[00:19:31] Speaker E: I. I don't know.
[00:19:33] Speaker H: We're just supposed to send them and receive them back. We have one guy who takes care of them, kind of the Raven Master, I guess you'd call him. He's like a one of those weird Kenku guys, you know? Then there's just runners, right? You send a horse from city to city.
[00:19:47] Speaker D: Who sends them?
[00:19:48] Speaker H: Gay.
[00:19:50] Speaker D: Who sends the raven?
[00:19:52] Speaker H: Oh, well, you guys. You know, like the other day when Shorva came and requested a raven from Hugo Castle to send for more beer from Chinta Doo. Like, the only reason that she was allowed to send a raven was because it was at the order of this new quartermaster. And that was like, you know, we only have a half dozen here, so it's usually, you know, nobles and the leaders of the city who use ravens.
[00:20:19] Speaker D: But who physically lets go of the raven?
[00:20:22] Speaker H: Oh, the Kenku Master, man.
[00:20:26] Speaker D: Who the fuck is the Kenku Masterman?
[00:20:29] Speaker H: Well, the Aviary Master. The Kenku fellow kind of makes sense. He got this humanoid bird fellow and trains the birds.
Messenger ravens.
[00:20:41] Speaker G: Let's go to idz.
[00:20:43] Speaker C: Hold on.
We're going to Iz for sure.
[00:20:47] Speaker D: Yeah, but give me a fucking name.
[00:20:52] Speaker C: So I tell it gets mad about things after his badger's gone.
[00:20:56] Speaker F: Are there records whenever one of these birds are released?
[00:21:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:21:01] Speaker H: Well, we release them and they come back.
If the message is returned. I don't know more than that. I mean, I'm not the Aviary Master.
[00:21:11] Speaker D: Sounds like a bird.
[00:21:13] Speaker H: Oh, his name is impossible to pronounce.
[00:21:17] Speaker J: Man.
[00:21:17] Speaker H: It's like. It's like q and like four Rs and a K. It's.
Yeah, it's like,
[00:21:28] Speaker D: nice Quark.
[00:21:31] Speaker H: Well, that's. That's a. That's a brutalization that you're butchering that right there.
I've tried. I mean, it's all right.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: I'm all right.
[00:21:38] Speaker H: I'm all right. At Aarakocra, the Kenku language, it's all very similar.
[00:21:44] Speaker D: Robin, can I do a history check on that?
That, like quark?
[00:21:52] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, sure.
[00:21:55] Speaker D: 12.
[00:21:57] Speaker E: You would know this to be. Yeah, one of these short bird type names, which is very hard to translate into common.
And Dante is just doing a fairly good effort.
[00:22:09] Speaker D: Yeah, it's either a bird or a legend name.
[00:22:12] Speaker H: Well, you guys are just asking about this. The more you pursue this thing, the more it grows.
[00:22:19] Speaker G: Let's go to Edge.
[00:22:21] Speaker C: Yeah.
Shall we go by.
Well, we're gonna go by the wizard and Spear and then over to Germ.
[00:22:32] Speaker E: Will you ride or will you walk?
[00:22:35] Speaker C: Ride.
Ride.
[00:22:42] Speaker E: As you guys are now used to, the crowds and the passersby part ways for this party on horseback. And as you go to the wizard and Spear, you would think about the parchment that you spat invisible ink all over and how it revealed the three items that you had pocketed from the slain folks who were devoured by Gnolls in the battle and of Polb Plaza.
[00:23:14] Speaker C: I'm interested in the items that we found out they have.
And what did they find out about the items we left with them?
[00:23:23] Speaker G: We.
[00:23:24] Speaker F: They. They sent us.
[00:23:26] Speaker D: Well, I saw the parchment that said what we're valued at and those mazes are rad. Yeah, I definitely know what I want from them, but I definitely beleg doesn't want anything.
[00:23:40] Speaker G: So you guys can take.
[00:23:41] Speaker D: Yeah, I want to know what they're
[00:23:44] Speaker E: willing to trade at or be willing
[00:23:46] Speaker D: to let go with a debt owing.
[00:23:52] Speaker E: As the party rides up to the still busted front doors of the wizard and Spear, your friendly neighborhood purveyor of magical weapons and armor. You would notice that the front desk is actually manned by Mem.
Which is strange. I mean, sometimes when you guys have come in here, it hasn't been, you know, manned at all by Leah, let alone Mem, but here he is sort of slumped over on the front counter.
[00:24:25] Speaker D: Mem, where's Leah?
I don't know where.
[00:24:34] Speaker I: Looking into that mask was perilous.
[00:24:38] Speaker G: Sit down.
[00:24:40] Speaker E: And yeah, Mem seems to be in a sort of floppy disposition.
[00:24:47] Speaker G: Has he been hitting the T too hard?
[00:24:50] Speaker D: Leah?
I shout Leah.
[00:24:54] Speaker E: There is no answer.
[00:24:57] Speaker G: I walk through the back door.
[00:25:02] Speaker E: Okay, Kaito, you walk through the back door and you would note that it is mostly empty. And back here there's no sign of Leah and it is quiet.
[00:25:16] Speaker I: Hitting the T too hard. No, no.
What? Did you read my note?
[00:25:25] Speaker D: You mean the goods for sale?
[00:25:28] Speaker I: It's the mask that got me a little woozy.
But those.
Those three items are very interesting. But I'll take the sparkling chain shirt.
I don't mind those. Sort of one property weak magical items. Those are suitable for the average fellow.
[00:25:53] Speaker D: How do you feel about a trade?
[00:25:56] Speaker I: Well, I might consider it. What were you interested in trading for?
Some things off that majorly sweet magical item list.
[00:26:10] Speaker D: I did. I did.
[00:26:13] Speaker I: Okay, excellent. Then what do you want?
[00:26:17] Speaker D: How about you give us a advance for whatever we need to continue our adventure.
[00:26:25] Speaker C: We also have a tab open by Nafre that you negotiated with him where we were to get an item or two.
[00:26:35] Speaker G: We already buried that tab, didn't we?
[00:26:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't think we did, did we?
[00:26:40] Speaker D: I think we have.
[00:26:41] Speaker C: I didn't get Anything off that?
[00:26:44] Speaker G: Don't worry about it, Rook. Yeah, I just have two things.
[00:26:49] Speaker D: Yes, I. I think, like, you give us what we need for being adventures,
[00:26:55] Speaker G: and that's where you got your plate.
Your breastplate.
[00:26:59] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. I have to pay for it.
[00:27:00] Speaker D: Never mind for what we're bringing you.
I think it's clear that we're gonna bring you valuable items.
[00:27:08] Speaker F: Almost like a loan.
[00:27:10] Speaker C: I just want to grab Kaitoa quickly and say, what item are you looking at? Because with the heavy flail plate armor and the shining chain, he's kind of said that he'd buy both of those. And that's 4,100 gold pieces.
[00:27:29] Speaker D: So I would like the Vodag,
[00:27:34] Speaker C: the
[00:27:35] Speaker D: Ring of Mighty, going forward. I think what we're gonna bring you back is worth it. You need to invest in us.
Because we're unlike no adventures you've ever come across.
[00:27:53] Speaker I: Did you read the top of my message? They're qualified only.
These are perilous weapons.
Do you have 10,000 gold? I know you're favored here, but you understand that there's a reason these weapons are here. They're not to be toyed with, Mem.
[00:28:15] Speaker D: They're sitting on a shelf gathering dust. And they could be out there gathering you money.
We're gonna put this weapon to work and bring you back money.
[00:28:27] Speaker I: Where are you going?
[00:28:29] Speaker D: It doesn't concern you.
[00:28:31] Speaker C: Consider the plate armor and the sparkling chain shirt as a down payment.
And I want to add to that that I'd like the morning fire for our quest.
[00:28:46] Speaker F: I'll take the short bow.
[00:28:48] Speaker I: You talk like adventuring isn't something that is congruous with highwaymen and brigandry and charlatanism.
People say, oh, I'm going on a quest.
And, oh, it's just a thinly veiled excuse for looting and murder and all sorts of desecration of ancient things.
[00:29:15] Speaker C: I'll stop you there, ma'. Am.
We've taken over the White Chain and have a place here in Hull. We've also overthrown Naafre and gotten the city back. A trading partner in Latin. And food coming in. We've shown that we have what we say we're gonna do, we're gonna do.
And what Kaitoa is saying here, we
[00:29:40] Speaker D: will follow through memory of our place in town. And also, you have my badger's life at stake. And I'm fighting for that, ma'.
[00:29:53] Speaker C: Am. Take the item that are valued at 4100, put that towards our items that we'd like, and we'll tab the rest?
[00:30:03] Speaker I: Well, yes, Quartermaster and your party. I suppose it's not a bad proposition then. Let's see what you have here. About 4000 HP for this plate suit of armor, but should be in the museum.
120 for the change. Shirt. Okay, little credit here.
If you all pick a. Pick a weapon as you'd like to take off the shelves, then perhaps you'll go on this quest and settle up when you return.
[00:30:41] Speaker G: What's the Ring of Might?
[00:30:44] Speaker I: Well, okay, well. Ring of Might, number one. Number two.
[00:30:48] Speaker C: Rook wants morning fire.
[00:30:51] Speaker I: Well, you said that. That's a frightening weapon there, Morningstar. It is, with some Orcish shit.
[00:30:59] Speaker G: Next.
[00:31:02] Speaker H: Holy.
[00:31:03] Speaker I: That is some heavy hitting stuff. You guys are up beyond 16,000 HP.
I should not have given you the majorly sweet weapon pamphlet.
[00:31:15] Speaker G: My God.
[00:31:15] Speaker H: I hesitate to ask.
[00:31:17] Speaker I: What is the next one?
[00:31:18] Speaker F: Blah, blah, blah, blah.
[00:31:20] Speaker C: I think Steve wanted the short bow.
Your short bow. Right, Steve?
[00:31:25] Speaker F: Hey, if we're taking things, I'll take the short bow.
[00:31:29] Speaker I: Okay, well, I've got the list and the total here.
Let's go into the back.
[00:31:36] Speaker E: And Mem shows you guys into the back room where yes, indeed, there's these lockers that he seems to, you know, begin to open each of them. Each of these four lockers with a. It looks like a small key.
And he's opening them and bringing you these fantastic items.
[00:31:59] Speaker D: Who took the Ring of my.
[00:32:03] Speaker I: Well, let's see here. The Ring of Mighty.
Let's go,
[00:32:21] Speaker D: Mem. Shut the fuck up.
[00:32:24] Speaker E: Sure enough, Mem has opened a small box.
Whatever was inside is missing.
[00:32:35] Speaker I: But the dripper's Ring of Might is gone.
[00:32:39] Speaker G: Who took it?
[00:32:41] Speaker C: Aphry?
[00:32:43] Speaker D: Where the fuck's Leah?
[00:32:49] Speaker I: Missing the Ring of Might. What a plot. Hook, half elf. I suppose I should let you pick something else from the list, considering
[00:33:01] Speaker G: the only other thing I'd want would be the Tighari.
[00:33:06] Speaker I: Oh, well, this Elven type polearm, long reach weapon. Deals quite the shock, but okay. Well, here's four weapons on your list. I'm still recovering from the realization that this very powerful ring is missing.
[00:33:27] Speaker G: We'll find that ring.
Then we'll keep it. But we'll find it.
[00:33:32] Speaker D: Uh, Mem, I am beginning to be skeptical about your account of your inventory.
[00:33:41] Speaker I: Well, this is indeed a shocking thing. I wonder if it's not you, you stealthy, sly human ranger boy who's multiclassing into roguery that might have stolen it from you know who strangers have been in my back room?
[00:33:55] Speaker J: You.
[00:33:55] Speaker I: You know who purchases weapons? Nobody. You're the only adventurers in here in years.
[00:34:01] Speaker D: Who's got that key?
[00:34:03] Speaker I: Tis a wizard's lock. It's a. Tis an enchantment. Only a wizard who knows the locking spell could unlock the locker.
[00:34:14] Speaker D: Are you admitting that some boy could break into your lock?
[00:34:21] Speaker I: Well, very possibly, yes. I keep a watchful eye on all of the merchandise.
Physical thievery has taken place. I can't explain it. Yes.
[00:34:35] Speaker C: Oh, they're. Oh.
[00:34:38] Speaker E: So, as you guys discuss, you know, with the wizard. Mem. His missing piece of. Of inventory.
[00:34:47] Speaker I: Well, let's get a little ledger going here for the transaction.
Selling me the plate, the plated armor, the chainmail shirt. Is that right?
[00:35:02] Speaker C: The. The plate and the sparkling.
[00:35:06] Speaker D: Yeah.
The value deducted from what we've done. Taken.
[00:35:12] Speaker I: I don't like filling these things out on my own. Okay, there's a. There's a piece of ledger paper for you. Showing the balance you.
[00:35:22] Speaker E: And he hands you this small receipt.
And guys, you have now taken these weapons out of the back room.
It would be now the mid afternoon. And despite the fact that you are, you know, on. On horseback here and unable Able to sort of leave the wizard and spear without being remarked by a lot of the people in the streets of Polb, you make it swiftly to wherever you want to go. Having been, I guess, equipped with these quite fearsome items.
[00:36:04] Speaker C: I think we're off to Lieutenant Dan's to go see Germ and let him know what the deal is.
[00:36:11] Speaker G: So, the diggory or the d. Gari or Dejaria or whatever the. The weapon. The polearm I have. All it says is a polearm.
It doesn't specific or specify what kind of polearm it is.
Can it be a glaive?
[00:36:28] Speaker E: Yes. It is essentially the characteristic polearm of the ancient elven phalanx. And yeah, it's very much a glaive.
[00:36:40] Speaker C: Sweet.
[00:36:41] Speaker G: Adding it to the inventory.
So we're gonna quickly pop by dorafils and then t.
Hell, yeah.
[00:36:50] Speaker D: Let's go, boys.
[00:36:53] Speaker E: Okay, so you guys are taking off down towards Dora filled safe shack. And you have arrived.
[00:37:06] Speaker J: Squeak, squeak, squeak.
Oh, hey, boys. You come to the safe shack. Hey, look, I like to polish my little quartermaster. Deputy quartermaster pin here.
[00:37:22] Speaker C: Oh, you'll be standing in for me while we go on it.
Trip to is.
[00:37:34] Speaker J: Hey, hey, what's that? Your construct, friend, seems to be degassing.
Leaking on my porch.
[00:37:43] Speaker D: I'm leaking oil everywhere.
[00:37:50] Speaker J: Take your leaky.
You understand me? Don't pee in my apartment.
[00:37:59] Speaker G: I just.
I just realized that Beleg speaks dwarven.
[00:38:05] Speaker F: Yeah, I just didn't know Dwarfa was from the colonies.
[00:38:10] Speaker J: Oh, it's true. You hear my accent, Steve? It's true. The dwarves from Bajeru, we swear. A little different from our cousins in Kambah in the old dwarf home.
[00:38:28] Speaker G: Yeah. No. Beleg wants to say what's up in Dwarven to dorfil.
[00:38:33] Speaker J: Oui. Comme unseva Beleg.
Come see Comme S.
Well, a little rusty, but nice. We can't speak in this Dwarven dialect. Steve and Bella go on. We'll share a little joke.
[00:38:54] Speaker D: I feel like it caught the tail end of that.
[00:38:58] Speaker G: Does Steve speak Elvish?
See, he does.
Hi.
All right, let's go to is. I want to fight something before the night's over.
[00:39:08] Speaker H: Hey, we're right over then. Chomping at a bit. Hey, boys, it's me, Mickey. Very conveniently, I'm here as well.
Hey, hey.
[00:39:17] Speaker F: Hello.
[00:39:17] Speaker H: Here I am.
Now, as Dorafil noted before, as he has his little shiny quarter master, Deputy Badger, it is nice to have a little insignia. I have a look at these. Why don't you, loves?
[00:39:33] Speaker E: And Mickey appears to produce from inside his waistcoat.
[00:39:41] Speaker H: It looks like a set of colored brooches or pins in the shape of small eyes.
[00:39:49] Speaker E: You know, like a pair of eyes
[00:39:50] Speaker H: or a set of eyes.
[00:39:52] Speaker G: I'm always down for an extra eye.
[00:39:55] Speaker D: Mickey, what the fuck is this?
[00:39:57] Speaker H: Well, if you go afar, and if you are going to other cities around, you may want to show this insignia.
[00:40:06] Speaker C: Right.
[00:40:06] Speaker H: I got a little safe house. I write everywhere in an important little city. Maybe not a member of the Poison Scepter, love, but nonetheless somebody who might benefit you to. To meet with as a contact. I hear these fins approach to show that you are initiated into the Poison Scepter. I'll tell you, if you're looking for that Wagapalo, he's gonna be looking for one of these ears.
[00:40:36] Speaker D: Does this also track us?
[00:40:39] Speaker H: Well, Kaitoa, would you like to roll an insight or investigation?
[00:40:45] Speaker D: No, I think I know it knows. It goes both ways, Mickey.
[00:40:51] Speaker H: All right, how then? Well, look here. I have four little pins. These are the positions vacated in the Poison Scepter. Let's look here. I've got a red pair. I've got here a green pair. And then I've got a gray pair. And finally a yellow pear like the yellow one. All right, Steve, you grabbed yellow one, did you?
[00:41:17] Speaker F: All right, wonderful.
[00:41:19] Speaker D: I'll take the gray.
[00:41:22] Speaker H: Oh, military man. All right.
[00:41:27] Speaker G: Bellik takes the grain.
[00:41:29] Speaker H: An interesting choice. That leaves the red for you, Mr. Blood Hunter. Half orc.
[00:41:36] Speaker C: Yeah, I'LL take the blood or the red.
[00:41:38] Speaker H: Well, this is very interesting indeed. See, each one of these fins represents an aspect of the poison scepter. Laughs it's like he's a military man. That's great. And maybe is some sort of esoteric thing and maybe that's a different color. And we have a weapons master and all these sorts of things. It's very exciting. Love seven. Seven or eight pins now.
[00:42:02] Speaker J: Hey, Mickey, your film Taboo. These boys want to get going, I give them the pin. It's not a big deal. You have a pin, I have a pin.
Whoop dee doo. We all have pins.
[00:42:15] Speaker D: What pin are you?
[00:42:20] Speaker J: I'm the black pin.
[00:42:23] Speaker D: What the fuck is a black pin?
[00:42:28] Speaker J: If I tell you now, you want the black pin, everybody wants the scary black pin. Oh, edgy. Oh, I'm an edge Lord. No, it's. It's not good. It's very dark.
[00:42:45] Speaker C: Gonna look at germ and say that.
Naffrey. Well, we're out of town too.
Dorfyll's deputy quartermaster Coin purse Nafrey Dalek
[00:43:00] Speaker G: is like pacing by the door. Really wanted to leave.
[00:43:04] Speaker C: Start making my way out the door because I want to get going to
[00:43:08] Speaker H: is all right then. I'm sure I can stand on a crate. I'm a bit short for public speaking, but fair enough. I'm sure I can keep the mayor well soused.
[00:43:21] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:43:22] Speaker H: Thank you very much, boys. I take the job.
[00:43:25] Speaker G: You're good to go, Mick.
[00:43:28] Speaker H: Cheerio.
[00:43:29] Speaker J: Oh, well, goodbye.
[00:43:35] Speaker E: Okay, party. As you are leaving Dorafil's safe shack and, you know, being assured that wherever you go, you've left these two in some positions of authority. And as you go back through South Main street, guys, back towards.
I'm not quite sure where you're going, but you would notice that the, you know, the one o' clock toll bell has come and gone and there's no execution, you know, occurring in the city today.
There's not particularly tense in the city and again, you know, people and crowds part way for U4.
[00:44:18] Speaker G: Sounds like the perfect time to leave.
[00:44:20] Speaker C: Yeah.

[00:46:19] Speaker G: Sounds like the perfect time to leave.
[00:46:21] Speaker F: Do we want people to know that we're we're leaving, or do we want to do this undercover?
[00:46:28] Speaker D: No, I think we're gonna.
[00:46:29] Speaker G: I think we just. Peace out.
[00:46:30] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:46:31] Speaker C: Yes. Stealth, though.
[00:46:34] Speaker G: People should know that someone's watching all the time.
[00:46:37] Speaker E: Okay, as the party makes to leave, do you mean to exit the city surreptitiously?
[00:46:44] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:46:45] Speaker C: Yeah, we're leaving.
[00:46:46] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:46:48] Speaker E: Would you guys like to all roll a group stealth? And if anybody can give me some sort of flavor, you know, on how this happens, you can roll with advantage. But let's do a group stealth.
[00:47:03] Speaker F: I got something that'll help even more. I'm gonna cast Pass Without Trace on the entire party, horses included.
We're gonna stealth our way out.
So if we have advantage, we also have plus 10 on all our stealth rolls.
[00:47:20] Speaker C: Oh, right.
[00:47:22] Speaker G: Oh, wow.
[00:47:25] Speaker E: Can you describe then, as you and your party suit up, you four and your four steeds, what exactly does this entail?
[00:47:36] Speaker F: Well, as you guys are suiting up, Steve has pulled out a small satchel and he dips his two fingers in, and there is ash on the end of it.
As he passes each of you, he spreads in some cases, needs to stretch up pretty high, but will spread ash somewhere on your body.
[00:48:00] Speaker G: Picture like an awkward, like, little league baseball coach pep talk every time, too.
[00:48:06] Speaker F: I was thinking of, like.
[00:48:07] Speaker C: I was thinking of like, Dave Chappelle when he's, like, sprinkling some coke on himself.
[00:48:13] Speaker F: I don't want to hide those secrets.
[00:48:20] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:48:20] Speaker F: As the ashes spread on each of you, it's.
It almost feels like there's less light even bouncing off. Like, light almost passes through you.
[00:48:32] Speaker D: Thank God.
[00:48:33] Speaker G: Yeah. Belly girl to 27 on advantage.
[00:48:36] Speaker D: I'm a 13.
Thank you.
[00:48:39] Speaker G: Wait, you're a 13 with the plus 10?
[00:48:42] Speaker H: Yeah, and it's.
[00:48:43] Speaker J: Holy.
[00:48:45] Speaker I: It was a two.
[00:48:46] Speaker D: It was a two plus one.
Plus 10.
[00:48:50] Speaker F: 13.
[00:48:53] Speaker D: It's Kaito.
[00:48:54] Speaker G: Come on.
All right, well, that's the 24 for rookie.
[00:49:00] Speaker E: Okay, 24. Rook Steve 38.
You guys stealth out of the city under Steve's magical obscuring effect, but also in conjunction with his coaching to remain extra stealthy. Kaitoa, you remember that Boy who came up to you and who drew the little picture of you. Yeah, like just as you guys are leaving the city and exiting the large gates to the east, there's this one boy who's out way too late, past his bedtime as you guys leave in the late evening here. And he.
Oh, he almost catches a glimpse of what he thinks to be this construct man.
[00:49:54] Speaker A: But party.
[00:49:55] Speaker E: You have left the city of Polb and now you are in this shadow that Steve has cast around you. As you ride to wherever you want
[00:50:13] Speaker G: is
[00:50:15] Speaker F: the right east southeast.
[00:50:21] Speaker E: It is an uneventful ride towards the city of Iz. About a one and a half half day ride. You do not see any signs of movement along the road that follows along here beside the River Polba. You may notice the signs of great battle as you pass the area of the Pulba Plains about a third of the way towards Iz. But guys, you are now arriving within visual range of the walled city of Iz in approximately a day and a half. So say you'd be arriving in the early evening two days after you left.
Can everybody roll? Sort of like a scouting or a reconnaissance as you approach this round encircled city by the River Polba?
[00:51:27] Speaker G: Yes, it's a standard ballet perception check. It's a seven.
[00:51:33] Speaker D: What do you mean by reconnaissance?
[00:51:35] Speaker G: Like history or perception or insight? Maybe, but that would be a dirty one.
[00:51:43] Speaker D: You mean our best role.
[00:51:47] Speaker E: How would you assess it is up to you.
[00:51:49] Speaker G: Because my role, I roll perception and it's seven.
[00:51:54] Speaker F: Classic throttle ride. If, if Steve is gonna be doing anything, it's keeping an eye out on his favorite thing to track and fight humanoids.
So I want to just. I want. I'm looking for any kind of anything that humanoids will leave behind camps whether whether it be gnolls or humans or just people. What I'm looking for is, is people in general, okay. Whether they're enemies or people trying to get away.
[00:52:27] Speaker E: And what did you roll?
What ability or skill are you leveraging, Steve?
[00:52:34] Speaker F: If I have my druther's bed, I'll take perception. Okay, that's 14 mm.
[00:52:41] Speaker E: How else are we missing their rook?
[00:52:43] Speaker C: I would be in kind of looking around and rolling investigation to see what clues and sights that I can see that would indicate any sort of vibe that we're getting from Iz towards Polb.
15.
[00:53:06] Speaker I: Okay.
[00:53:06] Speaker E: You guys are a cautious bunch.
So, Kaitoa.
[00:53:09] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:10] Speaker E: What angle are you going along? So combined you guys are already pretty high. Okay. What are you rolling, Kaitoa?
[00:53:16] Speaker D: I'm gonna have to go Saving throw. Just because this kid recognized me.
That's gonna be in 19.
[00:53:27] Speaker E: This Kaitoa fan.
[00:53:29] Speaker D: This kid knows me, dude.
[00:53:31] Speaker E: It's fan art.
[00:53:31] Speaker J: That's.
[00:53:32] Speaker E: That's very powerful stuff. Fan art.
[00:53:35] Speaker D: I had to save throw.
[00:53:37] Speaker E: We'll say in that moment then, that you definitely were able to extract yourself from this child's gaze.
Folks, as you assess is from, you know, a fair range, but from a safe range. You know, you look back at Kaitoa and he seems still to sort of be a little preoccupied with. With, you know, was he seen as he left? But guys, you would notice that the city of Iz, this. This town surrounded by rather fertile lands and with a large wall really encircling most of it. It seems to be heavily garrisoned. And as you guys poke about, Rook and. And Beleg and Steve, as you guys
[00:54:20] Speaker H: probably take, what would you say, probably
[00:54:21] Speaker E: like an hour or two to sort of really check out the situation here, you would see that it looks like this city is garrisoned and manned at
[00:54:32] Speaker H: the walls by Gnolls.
[00:54:35] Speaker E: Like some of these Gnolls appear to be in armor, you know, and they are standing erect and they're holding spears.
And this is what you would see.
[00:54:46] Speaker C: I want to fight them.
[00:54:49] Speaker F: So walls themselves. Does it look like there's been a battle recently or is this something that's taken over a long time ago?
[00:54:59] Speaker E: Hard to tell, Steve, but certainly there are no recent signs of battle. As the day wears on. You see carts going into the city. You see the Gnolls, you know, uncrossing their spears. The guard knolls at some of the gates, and they're letting in some of the, you know, the peasants and the commoners.
Yeah.
[00:55:19] Speaker J: Mmm.
[00:55:21] Speaker F: Do we want in the city?
[00:55:22] Speaker G: How do you guys want to enter?
[00:55:25] Speaker C: Well, either take him out and go and fight or we try to find another way around.
[00:55:32] Speaker F: I can load up another stealth spell.
[00:55:35] Speaker G: I don't have another stealth spell.
[00:55:38] Speaker F: I do.
[00:55:40] Speaker G: I could rock a disguise self and distract people at the main gate. If you guys want to try and like. Like grappling hook up or sneak up while I'm talking to people.
That's the only way that I could use any of my spells.
[00:55:55] Speaker F: Another pass without trace in the. In the chamber, so to speak.
[00:55:59] Speaker D: We can stealth. It ain't like Kaito is like agility and strength. Can I can get over this wall?
[00:56:08] Speaker E: Going into some. Some tactical talk there party.
[00:56:13] Speaker G: Could we rob. Could we roll a perception to see if we can notice the like the least concentration of guards on the. On the like the Walls like find a place where we have the lowest chance the we noticed.
[00:56:31] Speaker D: Yeah, sleepiest guard.
[00:56:34] Speaker J: Yeah.
[00:56:34] Speaker E: I would say that you could jointly use your passive perception, you know, to stake out the city of is here one more time before you guys commit to a strategy. So yeah, the north along the river Polba. Quite a lot of activity there. Lots of torchlight, looks like lots of manned towers or knolled towers. And then you have the south eastern and southwestern gates. They seem to be much less monitored. There are guards letting in a lot now of field hands, peasants coming back from toiling in the fields as dusk is quickly approaching.
[00:57:21] Speaker F: We can always pose as farmers if we get a cart.
[00:57:25] Speaker G: Let's try to go for the southern
[00:57:27] Speaker F: roads then if we really need to, Steve can do the concentration thing and see, see where our best numbers are.
[00:57:34] Speaker G: That's a cantrip for you too, right?
[00:57:37] Speaker F: I can do it at will.
[00:57:38] Speaker G: Yeah, yeah.
[00:57:39] Speaker F: It's just part of my, part of my, part of my class.
[00:57:42] Speaker G: That's a good call.
[00:57:43] Speaker F: For the record, Rob, I flipped my poncho to nature mode.
[00:57:49] Speaker E: Your dual sided gilly poncho has a wonderful forest pattern side it is definitely
[00:57:57] Speaker F: forest out right now.
[00:58:00] Speaker G: I think we should try and go up the wall.
[00:58:03] Speaker E: Well, there's certainly a scalable wall. You have about a 20 foot wall with you know, palisades along the top and these turrets spaced about every 120ft or so.
[00:58:21] Speaker F: I definitely think we wait till the evening anyway.
[00:58:25] Speaker C: Do we have a cart?
[00:58:28] Speaker E: You left Toby and Maddie in pole but no cart, just you and your four horses.
[00:58:33] Speaker G: Yeah, yeah, the horses are gonna be left down.
It depends though. There's more action going on during the day.
They may be more distracted if we try and do it during the day. If we do it during dusk and they're still guards on the walls, then we're gonna be the only noise that's being made.
[00:58:54] Speaker E: Okay, so Pardi, as you keep on discussing your plans and you are observing the comings and goings in and out of the city of Iz, to elaborate on your plan further, you would notice still this large presence of gnolls along the walls and at the gate.
[00:59:16] Speaker C: Gates.
[00:59:17] Speaker E: There are none outside the gates. But it is clear now to you. You've been observing long enough that the Gnolls are in charge here. They are imposing whatever law and order is occurring here. Letting in the peasants, opening the gates.
Yeah, these humanoid hyena like monsters that the party is all too familiar with are numerous and prevalent as they patrol the gates and the walls of the city.
[00:59:56] Speaker G: I Think we try and go up now.
[00:59:59] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:00:00] Speaker G: What do you think, Steve?
[01:00:01] Speaker F: Hey, I'm the easy one over.
[01:00:05] Speaker G: What do you think, Puglay?
Yeah, let's do it.
Let's go to the second gap and grapple. Hook our way up.
[01:00:17] Speaker F: I'm definitely casting this spell because I want us over that. I want us over that.
[01:00:24] Speaker D: Over that wall.
[01:00:26] Speaker E: Are you whipping out a second Pass without trace, Steve?
[01:00:31] Speaker G: Geo, I think I've got three healing gauntlet charges. So you can burn that spell without having to use pure wounds or anything.
[01:00:41] Speaker F: Is not on the same level. So we're good.
[01:00:45] Speaker G: Oh, nice. I'm. I'm stuck in my warlock mentality where all of my spells are the same level.
[01:00:52] Speaker E: So beleg. You know, seems to suggest an infiltration strategy of simply, you know, identify the middle midpoint between two towers or.
Or at least points where you can tell there is some observance and start ascending. Use them grappling hook them.
[01:01:15] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[01:01:18] Speaker F: Pass without trace again.
[01:01:20] Speaker G: Three of that, plus 10 to stealth.
[01:01:23] Speaker F: 30. 30ft of me for the next hour.
[01:01:27] Speaker G: Nice.
Let's go up then.
[01:01:30] Speaker E: Okay, so, Steve, you consult the party and remind them again of the conditions of this incantation.
[01:01:41] Speaker F: Stay within 30ft.
[01:01:43] Speaker G: Relic stays shoulder to shoulder.
[01:01:45] Speaker F: Steve, it's just a little tap, like a little pun.
[01:01:50] Speaker J: Yeah.
[01:01:53] Speaker D: Kaitoa, like crab walks.
[01:02:01] Speaker E: So, Kaitoa and Rook Steven Bellig, you're now launching these grappling hooks up onto the walls, being assured that as you.
Everybody, please roll stealth. But I think you're gonna have no problem here.
[01:02:19] Speaker H: You infiltrate the city at dusk.
[01:02:25] Speaker G: Bellik's good to go.
[01:02:27] Speaker F: You rolled a Natural 20.
[01:02:29] Speaker G: I rolled a Natural 19.
So I'm at 31 right now.
[01:02:37] Speaker F: My Stealth is 39.
High as I can, actually.
[01:02:43] Speaker G: I love this spell.
[01:02:47] Speaker E: You are shattering this decent. See, but. Okay, so do we get everybody chiming in there?
[01:02:54] Speaker F: 19.
[01:02:55] Speaker H: Oh, Kaitoa, even you seem to.
[01:02:58] Speaker E: But that's with the modifier. You seem to be no problem, you know, joining along with this infiltration and rook21.
Okay, you guys are decimating the DC to infiltrate still with light of day, you know, more quiet, a manned city.
You are like a pocket of silence scaling over the walls of is. And guys, as you land on the other side of these large walls of is, and is seems to be, you know, a fairly ancient fortified town.
You drop down into a tightly packed neighborhood, you know, with close, tight alleyways and mostly single storied roofs. You hear the creaking of wagons and the shouting of voices, you know, because you have dropped in between Two of these of these gateways sort of to the south west I guess you would say.
In the shadows and the eaves of these buildings the party now collects their grappling hooks.
And what would you do next?
[01:04:20] Speaker F: Flips his poncho.
[01:04:24] Speaker G: We should probably go for the castle, like try and find some sort of central.
[01:04:30] Speaker E: Can everybody roll a quick history.
[01:04:36] Speaker C: 15.
[01:04:38] Speaker G: That's a 16. 17 minus 1 for belly.
[01:04:42] Speaker F: 11 for Steve.
19.
[01:04:45] Speaker I: Oh wow.
[01:04:46] Speaker H: Yes.
[01:04:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:04:47] Speaker E: Toa.
[01:04:47] Speaker H: Oh hey.
[01:04:48] Speaker E: It's our file cabinet friend. Kaitoa.
There is a piece of parchment showing the city of Iz. The outer walls, the entrances and exits.
And also in the center circled the keep, the main fortification here inside the walls of Iz. And that name Oldfoot on this map and somebody's probably yanking that out of
[01:05:25] Speaker F: Kaitoa next to the completely rotting kippers.
[01:05:33] Speaker G: Chris Blake.
[01:05:35] Speaker F: No, the kippers.
[01:05:36] Speaker D: Oh, oh, I look at Belly.
I don't really appreciate that joke.
[01:05:46] Speaker G: Belike fingers Kaitoa.
No, I mean it like eclects on the bird.
[01:05:59] Speaker D: Isn't gonna save you.
[01:06:01] Speaker C: Next.
[01:06:07] Speaker G: Lovely you
[01:06:12] Speaker E: guys, you know, sort of retract Kazila's little door compartment and yes, here's a top down map. Top of is this well established fortified city where the roads, the main four roads seem to lead right into the middle of the city. Where you would also know now and be confirmed that the keep, the main fortification here of the city is right smack dab in the middle of town.
[01:06:46] Speaker G: Let's go.
[01:06:48] Speaker E: How long does your pocket of silence last Steve?
[01:06:51] Speaker D: Like an hour, One hour.
[01:06:55] Speaker E: So essentially yeah, as long as you guys maintain a sense of staying, you know, within range.
[01:07:03] Speaker H: Steve.
[01:07:04] Speaker E: 30ft. And without doing anything provocative within that space you have a miraculous 10 to all stealth checks.
[01:07:16] Speaker D: Oh wait, remember when Kristlik fucked the whole party over by selling them out as slaves.
Oh wait, that wasn't Chris Blake.
That was Beleg.
Oh, that falls outside of the pocket of silence.
Oh, my bad.
Right, I'm sorry, that falls outside that of trust. Yeah, right.
[01:07:49] Speaker F: Let's. Let's get to this. Let's get to this Keith.
[01:07:53] Speaker G: Let's get to the kit.
[01:07:58] Speaker E: Beleg. It's almost as if Kaitoa is shooting you sort of of daggerized, you know, for some reason.
[01:08:05] Speaker G: Beleg.
[01:08:06] Speaker E: You know, Kaitoa, as you and Steve and Rook, all four of you maintain this very quiet composure and sneak along through the back roads of the city of Iz, you know, you start to feel a little bit of tension in the party Beleg. Especially as, as you look into Kaitoa's sort of empty metal eyes.
[01:08:34] Speaker G: Oh yeah, yeah. He's shooting me dagger eyes and I'm close to shooting him daggers but hurt.
[01:08:40] Speaker E: So guys, I will have you all roll a group stealth as you approach this sort of center most part of Iz which does have a four sided keep, about a three leveled keep with quite a well lit, probably about a 200 foot space, you know, from the exits of the neighborhoods and the alleyways.
Why don't you roll a group Stealth
[01:09:08] Speaker H: all with plus 10 mod?
[01:09:12] Speaker G: It's 20 for Bellic.
[01:09:14] Speaker D: Yes, please.
2113.
[01:09:20] Speaker C: Correct.
[01:09:22] Speaker F: So that's a 7 plus 19. So 26.
Oh, this spell, I can only do it twice.
That's the nice part about it.
It's heavy.
[01:09:36] Speaker E: And somehow, you know, this party of four is able to cross almost an
[01:09:41] Speaker H: impossible distance
[01:09:45] Speaker E: to the keep. And despite the torchlight and despite the obvious presence of guards and manned towers,
[01:09:54] Speaker H: you seem to be as if invisible.
[01:09:58] Speaker E: As Steve sort of coaches you guys along and keeps you near. And these smudges of whatever he smudged on you guys, although it seems to be sort of hocus pocus, it seems to be working.
[01:10:12] Speaker G: Tiff.
Yes, Steve the Poohman.
[01:10:23] Speaker F: It's dry though. It's good. The smell's gone.
[01:10:24] Speaker E: And guys, what would you be doing now, you four as you stay awfully fucking tight to Ranger boy Steve?
[01:10:33] Speaker G: We prepare our attack. I think attacking, well, not like, not necessarily our attack, but our infiltration.
It's a good time to stop and like discuss what we're gonna do.
Also Bellic and Kaitoa might bite.
[01:10:49] Speaker D: I'm gonna buttercup Beleg and just leave him with a wafting fart essence.
[01:11:00] Speaker F: Just some steam right in his face.
[01:11:02] Speaker E: Kaitoa, you vent an awful smell.
[01:11:07] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:11:09] Speaker E: As these two are doing their thing, Rook and Steel, you would notice two or three patrols from your vantage point here, pressed into the inside angle of this keep where it touches most closely the neighborhoods around it. You see these patrols with very even spacing and timing and they're kind of making their way through the roads and around the courtyard around the keep. Or Ranger boy Steve, he seems intent on sort of marking the timing and observing these patrols. Steve at the moment seems completely preoccupied. And Rook as well, you've noticed these patrols, boy?
[01:11:56] Speaker G: Oh shit. Can I roll intimidation on Kaitoa?
[01:12:02] Speaker E: Yes. As you guys are sort of, you know, watching the patrol trolls go by and starting to assess now that you have infiltrated right into the heart.
Roll intimidation.
[01:12:15] Speaker G: I'd say 17,
[01:12:18] Speaker E: Kaito, what would you roll in response? As As a counter skill.
[01:12:23] Speaker C: What would I.
[01:12:27] Speaker G: Constitution.
[01:12:28] Speaker D: Constitution. Yeah.
[01:12:31] Speaker C: One.
[01:12:32] Speaker E: This is happening.
[01:12:34] Speaker D: Nat. 20 plus two.
[01:12:36] Speaker C: Really? Yeah.
[01:12:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:12:40] Speaker E: That is versus 17. So Belleg, you are rebuffed.
[01:12:45] Speaker D: I'm sorry, dude.
[01:12:48] Speaker G: Don't apologize. I'm ready to rp. I'll give you my spiel and you can overrule it.
[01:12:53] Speaker D: Yeah, go for it.
[01:12:55] Speaker G: Like, you can try and fight me if you want. You can with me, but we got some shit to do right now.
We have a castle to try and overrun. We have some information to try and find.
Right off with your intimidation and let's work together. Kaitoa,
[01:13:19] Speaker D: I straight up like grab your speech in my hand, swallow it, fart it out and blow it in your face and push it towards you.
[01:13:40] Speaker E: Kaitoa, can you and Beleg make a stealth roll? And Kahtoa, you will make the roll at disadvantage.
[01:13:48] Speaker G: We still have our plus 10 though, right?
[01:13:50] Speaker E: Correct.
[01:13:52] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:13:54] Speaker G: So I'm a 26 advantage on stealth.
[01:13:58] Speaker E: Advantage, but disadvantage.
[01:14:02] Speaker D: Oh, 19 to disadvantage.
[01:14:06] Speaker E: That's the total.
[01:14:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:14:09] Speaker J: Steve.
[01:14:10] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:14:11] Speaker E: And Rook.
[01:14:13] Speaker C: Yes, sir.
[01:14:13] Speaker E: Who are standing there pressed against the side.
A blast goes up in frustration due to the growing impatience and discussion between your party members, Beleg and Kaitoa.
And although Beleg's trying to keep his voice down and maybe successfully doing so, just at the end of the last thing, he exclaims, Kaitoa. Vents.
And from the front of around the keep, you see a figure in blue armor.
[01:15:02] Speaker G: Oyaku, Oyaku.
[01:15:04] Speaker E: Oyaku. And they are wielding a tomahawk.
And party. You feel immediately those of you still watchful of your situation.
You feel you have been seen and your cover has been blown.
Despite Steve's best efforts,
[01:15:30] Speaker D: of course.
[01:15:31] Speaker G: Yeah.
[01:15:31] Speaker F: I used a second level ranger spell.
[01:15:37] Speaker G: Sorry, buddy.
[01:15:38] Speaker D: Oh, just wait.
[01:15:39] Speaker H: There are.
[01:15:39] Speaker F: There are no kodamas for anyone now.
[01:15:43] Speaker G: We beefed. We beefed. I had no choice.
[01:15:47] Speaker E: That is where we are going to leave you tonight on this episode of Dungeons and Blackguards.
[01:16:05] Speaker H: Sam, sa.
[01:16:55] Speaker G: What happened when I left?
[01:16:59] Speaker H: Great question.
[01:17:00] Speaker G: We rolled some.
We argumented a little bit.
Oh, man, that Kaitoa farted and everybody noticed.
[01:17:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:17:08] Speaker G: In the whole city.
[01:17:10] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:17:12] Speaker F: Just like grandpa, huh?
Yeah, he's got the big farts.
I had to deal with children.
Obviously there's more children here that need to be dealt with.
[01:17:32] Speaker G: I'm. I'm stuck in my warlock mentality where all of my spells are the same level.
[01:17:38] Speaker E: Warlocks. It's all about them.
[01:17:41] Speaker G: Oh, it's hard.
All right, let's go.
It's an Oscar winning song.
[01:17:52] Speaker E: It's hard out there for a lock.
[01:17:54] Speaker D: Yeah,
[01:17:58] Speaker G: we don't tell people where we're going. It's. It's like good home brand. You never tell somebody the style you're making.
You tell them the style you made after it's done.
